Scientist Man Analyzes Ghostbusters (2016)

hello its me scientist man now that the proverbial dust has settled it's time to talk about the most controversial film of the year the terrible Ghostbusters remake hey why does the scientist have to be a man that's sexist I think he's got a man's spleen us let's begin after being trapped in development hell for nearly 15 years Sony Pictures finally decided on an idea for a new Ghostbusters film that's funny because the original title of Ghostbusters 3 was going to be Ghostbusters in hell why is that funny development hell Ghostbusters in hell I fail to see the humor you mouth-breathing basement-dwelling women haters I don't live in a basement I don't hate women but I do live in a basement I live in a man-child basement Paul my manchild toys a wonderful manchild toys in a leaked email to Sony Pictures Paul figs original idea for his Ghostbusters film went something like this we'll see four very different women come together and figure out in funny scary and action-packed ways how to save New York City and the world in what I think could be a billion-dollar idea recruits the ghosts of evil beings from other parts of the universe yes ghosts aliens oh that sounds terrible yeah that's just awful and I like Prometheus allegedly Melissa McCarthy hated the script Paul Feig and producer Amy Pascal did not want Ivan Reitman involved and they wanted to force him out the original cast was essentially bullied into cameos by the studio which is apparently why Bill Murray looks miserable one leaked email appears to state that they were thinking of taking legal action against Murray if he didn't play ball and you were reluctant to be a part of any of them until you heard this idea and why why was this idea appealing to you it was only cuz I knew these girls were funny and Ernie Hudson himself said having female leads was a terrible idea he then backtracked his statements and I said I'm guessing a theory right that I think was what the fans were looking for they announce the cash is a gun deal I love the girls oh yeah they're doing something great I assumed he wanted a bigger role and wanted to be a Ghostbuster again desperately I don't understand why everyone got so upset about a silly comedy about ghosts because Jay if they make a bad Ghostbusters film it'll ruin our childhood then came the day the trailer was released on YouTube and it went on to get the most down votes of any movie trailer in the history of the world was it because this was a Ghostbusters movie with women or was it because it looked [ __ ] terrible who can tell by just a down vote I think Sony deleted my comment on the trailer Oh what was your coming all I said was this movie doesn't look very funny what does what does that one say [ __ ] them ugly fat [ __ ] oh my god correct in fact it was widely reported that Sony was deleting general negative comments about the film but leaving the childish misogynistic ones in order to have an angle to market their terrible film look scientist man I'm a huge Ghostbusters fan and I'm fine with the idea of women in the roles as long as the film is good that's correct an environment has been artificially created in order to make you look like a sexist for thinking the film is a big piece of [ __ ] it also has empowered others to pay to see the film in order to spite you manchild they will also lie about having enjoyed the film also to spite you it has also been scientifically proven that anyone who says they like this film is lying its null found out through bouts they knew the movie was [ __ ] because they held off releasing the trailer until just a few months before the film came out they had a review embargo and apparently hand picked certain youtubers and bloggers to attend early screenings YouTube brand a little YouTube shout out of the film gang for that rule number one don't read the comments you guys got that right you know that goes you know I went to an early screening once oh yeah for what oh the force awakens you got to see the force awakens early why didn't you tell me about this well I was gonna ask you if you wanted to go but the showing was like 9:15 a.m. oh that's weird yeah you know I'm just kind of early and plus the movie's been out for a few weeks I think had already seen it at that point Oh an early screening it was also discovered that some critics who gave it a glowing review had supported the movie from the start when they heard that so many sexist sand misogynists said the trailer looked bad also in unrelated news Sony has actually been caught in the past faking reviews so all this controversy was based on down votes on a YouTube video that's correct let's look at some facts the original upload by Sony of the first Ghostbusters trailer is currently at 38 million 45,000 852 views that's a lot of views not as many as that cat playing a keyboard but I hate cats and keyboards what does that have to do with the amount of views of the video again are you saying that the keyboard cat is better than the Ghostbusters trailer I think it's fair to say out of all of those views a total of 1 million two hundred and fifty six thousand four hundred and thirty-four people have hit the like or dislike button which is three point three percent of the total view count the percent of dislikes is two point five percent that being said ninety six point seven percent of people watched the trailer but didn't click like or dislike but what about all of those nasty hateful comments that I've heard so much about that's right you because of all the down votes and sporadic nasty comments about women and feminism in general a narrative began to form about how childish racist man babies such as yourselves were hating on the trailer mainly because of women and/or minority it seemed to be all anyone was talking about in fact news story after news story began to pop up and when the press and bloggers thought that these poor highly paid actresses were being attacked via YouTube comments by overweight virginal Ku Klux Klan basement-dwelling Toya unboxers they rushed to their defense to help expose the injustice that was being done the Ghostbusters reboot casting announcement has misogynistic men everywhere losing their ish all over the interwebs and injustice to a comedy film produced by a company that makes terrible product placement filled movies yeah with what they don't say when they're typing is that like one minute after they type that their moms like get upstairs and take out the garbage I think your problem I think you're probably more right than even people would believe yeah I just thought the trailer wasn't funny and the movie looked bad and I'm tired of reboots your thoughts are invalid let's look at the comment section on a video with 38 million views there are two hundred and seventy nine thousand two hundred and eighty-two comments posted that means 0.73 percent of the people that watched the video commented it's hard to walk into Ghostbusters unaffected by the fact so many people decided to hate this movie on premise alone ergo ninety nine point two seven percent of the people that watched the trailer did not comment yeah I don't like those odds those aren't odds they are statistics yeah I still wouldn't bet on that horse rich what are you talking about Sarah Jessica Parker wasn't in the Ghostbusters reboot oh you sexist what did you just say he was sexy I I don't know I just got I got caught up well I think the first question asks is how often do we see females in film and we don't know even if every one of those comments were sexist and misogynistic it would still be less than 1% and those comments were mixed in with many comments such as I don't get why people don't like this movie like WT why is there so much dislikes this movie was really good and funny it is very good the people are just made because they are sexist and really liked the older one in my opinion I saw them both and liked this one better Thanks Sony my cousin actually seen the movie so peeps that didn't see the movie stop hatin I'm a man I loved it so much see this movie was great I am sorry for the sexist people who hate it because of female cast I love it and prefer out to the original everyone is entitled to their own opinion now for scientific purposes I took all the YouTube comments and ran them through my sophisticated supercomputer you see here and I discovered that out of a random sample of 1,000 comments 60 were negative towards women and 59 brought up the feminist angle which means roughly 12% of comments were very specifically anti women when taking that sample against the whole number of current comments 279 thousand nine hundred nineteen thirty three thousand five hundred and thirteen comments were misogynistic when that number is put against the number of views as a whole point zero eight percent felt the need to say something negative about female Ghostbusters ninety-nine point nine two percent did not but what about how Leslie Jones got attacked by an angry racist mob on Twitter what that happened why she was the best part of the movie I would say you're looking at you know you're looking at obese white man between fifty and sixty who are active Klan members or members the Aryan Nation and there are millions of them and I'm afraid to say that that that contingency will be voting for the Republican ticket Jesus Christ it's starting to look like if you're a male Ghostbusters fan is mid-30s that you don't like women black people or exercise it's really going to eat it look at what's in that [ __ ] thing I don't agree that's disgusting not surprised he's eating it it is very phallic actually I like this better than normal Twinkies like a by a lot by taking some relatively insignificant numbers and exacerbating a small problem they were able to ignite a fraudulent movement based on a dumb unfunny comedy film people need a cause I guess but no matter how much you spin the story word-of-mouth will always win sadly Ghostbusters has dropped 54 percent in its second weekend you could say that this ghost has no legs hey hey no jokes allowed is that what they told Paul Feig yes I also think we paid too much attention to the very very very tiny tiny group of people that are so loud yeah it is not the majority I can't in my heart think that this many people I know too many wonder I mean that's like such a slam to men to say that they're all crazy and misogynistic so it's like it's just that the tiny crazy sector is very loud I think we had to start to remember that's like it's it's a very small amount and to just start if we don't give them the platform yes dig away

This pisses me off because he's describing exactly the emotional rollercoaster I was on about this movie.

I wanted to like it because of Kate McKinnon and Kristen Wiig, but then the trailers were bad, but then I heard that misogynists were being shitty about it, so I decided I'd see it or at least pretend it looked okay.

Knowing that Sony kind of played up the misogynistic backlash to make up for the fact that they produced a shitty movie... Well, now I no longer feel like I have to see it.
