Please note that this website is currently a work in progress! Lots of interesting data and statistics to come.
IIRC SpiffingBrit plays on normal difficulty for these videos and so the AI plays very poorly, such as wasting ammo on things they cannot actually damage with 100% ranged block.
Well, I'll be damned...
My personal pet peeve is people suggesting getting 0 upkeep on cavalry is somehow strong.
To get it, you need to go very deep into the least useful tech tree, get bunch of forgettable tech, take the entire north practically to get the horse pastures, upgrade them all to full and have specific heir/faction leader.
This cav 'trick' is a noob trap. You are MUCH better off rushing proper economy techs, like additional trade agreements, which will allow you to in turn, further evolve your infrastructure/economy and field multiple balanced stacks.
There's a way to dominate Legendary difficulty with just 4 commanderries through an eco build without any exploits and without taking any red techs for more than 100 turns in.
Its broken. But its fun. lol
Normal difficulty lol AI wont shoot turtle on hard or higher.
Ma Teng is awesome though
I've tried this 4 times now, the last time being on easy, and can't seem to pull it off. Ma Teng's -4 public order realm wide puts a strain on settlements up front, meaning no peasants, so your only income comes from silk.
Gong Du seems to be able to field full armies despite having no food or income. Taking the Coal Mine has been impossible in all 4 of my attempts unless I run my self out of cash.
And heading straight for the emperor with a small force didn't work in the least. The garrison came out, and I managed to take down 1400 with 600, losing ~250. Then stacks of Dong Min armies showed up until I could no longer retreat..
I think the game should be left as it is because after the patches Iam getting a crap load of bugs and performance issues. When the game was released the game was such a smooth running one. But now after the patches i getting Attila and Warhammer performance vibes.
