[Music] george dreamed about flying in the sky so tonight was his lucky night [Music] sorry to pick you up so late but a satellite's just crashed from space and needs to be found right away [Music] there's the einstein pizza research ship just ahead [Music] [Applause] our mission is time sensitive so please no dawdling huh that means we have to hurry we must locate and retrieve this miniature weather satellite it splashed down close by but its exact whereabouts are unknown you three will search the ocean floor in the sub we're gonna ride in a sub george we're going in a sub uh any questions [Music] you in the yellow hat did you request our help based on our stellar work in outer space actually because i find small submarines much too uh confining and i don't like it when fish look at me let's get moving atmospheric forces are impinging on the satellite's external structure compromising its delicate circuitry even as we speak that means water might be leaking into the satellite and the data module will be damaged if we don't hurry ah got it we're ready [Music] [Applause] okay george keep your eyes peeled for that satellite [Music] did we find the satellite already no i don't know what that is ah that's what it is we woke up a giant sea turtle [Music] now that's the satellite's locating device we're close they're close get close i said that i know hold on we may have a problem we're blocked by a coral reef is there any way around it [Music] only a tiny passage the sub is much too big to fit through oh return to the ship we'll have to try another approach [Music] the satellite is within that reef and there's no way to get to it i don't know we're we're experts on space not the sea you and that ship [Applause] do not proceed [Music] [Applause] george is that you mr quint what are you doing in these waters well studying the local sea life hey you're an expert on fishing stuff is there any way to get in there to retrieve a satellite not in this tub a coral reef is a very fragile environment ship this size of damage the only way in the tunnel about oh yea big [Music] mr quint don't move your hands [Music] george can do it [Music] [Music] sounds can be mysterious especially when they wake you from a deep sleep [Music] mystery solved it was the sound of the man with the yellow hat digging george couldn't think of a better way to start the day don't you know well there's gonna be a lot of dirt too because it's going to be a deep hole what was a deep hole good for [Music] oh these are hard hats there for safety nobody goes down in the hole borrowed my brother flynn slatter oh great um where is it it uh oops left it in the truck well i'll just go get it well easy you just boost me onto your shoulders there now put your hands there won't you i i got just let let me get my balance for oh [Music] my lucky fishing float whoo thanks oh uh better yet you step on my back oops wait wait a second [Music] or george could go get it that's not too heavy for you is it buddy [Applause] [Music] great [Applause] thanks george [Applause] [Music] ah i think this hole is deep enough deep enough for what being back in the country was exciting george wondered if anything had changed since he'd been gone george had never seen so many flowers at bill's house that's some garden you've got going thanks to the rankin's compost [Music] george couldn't figure out why bill was adding dirt to the dirt compost isn't just dirt take leaves grass leftover food mix it in a hole with air dirt and water compost [Music] it didn't smell like leftovers it's food for plants after all plants get hungry too [Music] george never fed these plants they had to be starving [Music] [Music] these leftovers would be perfect [Music] okay [Music] george felt like the world's best monkey compost chef [Music] george got up early so he could serve the plants breakfast [Music] george do you want blueberries with your ew what is that smell [Music] were you trying to make compost i think you need to hear from the experts [Music] this makes good compost george leftover fruit and vegetables bits of plants and dirt you can use any leftovers except meat fish and dairy products like milk butter cheese or mayonnaise that makes it smell bad and attracts animals [Music] after a few weeks these different things turn old they decay and become food for other plants [Music] george was glad to hear there was a use for forgotten bananas now this is what your compost should look like and smell like it smelled like earth stir it up so it gets lots of air [Music] this will keep your plants healthy and green [Music] george took his compost container back to the city with him in case he found other plants in need [Music] i'll get dinner started [Music] this plant looked hungry [Music] they all did fortunately george knew what to do the apartment building where george lived was a very orderly place and that's how hundley liked it they're here to clean your carpets [Music] people came and people went [Music] the elevator arrived [Music] and people came down the stairs everything in hundley's lobby was orderly and neat [Music] well almost everything we can't go back into the apartment until the carpet is dry george so you stay here in the lobby while i run my errands all right okay oh oh and in case you get hungry i won't be long [Music] hundley didn't think george should be eating a sloppy apple in the lobby [Music] george decided it would probably be better to eat his apples someplace else hundley had never been through this door before [Music] but he was pretty sure it was against the rules to be out here [Music] oh [Music] [Music] hundley didn't think george would ever get in that way [Music] so he'd find a better way [Music] all right move it along at least there was one thing hundley knew for certain home was this way or maybe that way [Applause] [Music] [Music] [Music] hundley was getting worried he could just imagine the terrible things that that sloppy monkey was doing to his lobby when hundley found his building it was even worse than he imagined [Music] but then hundley saw that it wasn't his street at all oh but that meant he had no idea where he was [Music] lots more coming stick around come on guys let's go the day started with a wham wham wham lots of people heard it but only one was so curious he had to go see what it was [Music] wow pretty impressive construction site huh george [Music] that's what it'll look like when they're all done my hat stop my hat anybody [Music] [Music] these metal boxes looked important metal on the outside tasty sandwich inside with all this great equipment to see george didn't want to waste time on food [Music] [Music] [Applause] [Music] ah machinery's more fun when it's nice and loud [Music] you see there it goes again why is my building groaning and quaking i think the ground under the foundation is shifting but i can't figure out where or why i want this place to be safe we'll have to shut the site down until we find the problem [Music] george george get down that's not a playground [Music] hey buddy this your monkey [Music] and is this your cat yeah no but i am i i know her oh not good cat well looks like lunch is on me [Music] the next morning the man with the yellow hat was doing a little constructing of his own good morning george what'll it be for breakfast waffles or pancakes waffles and pancakes it is i'm sorry george but there are no blueberries we'll just find something else fun to put on top or you could go down to the store and buy blueberries okay george this is a ten so be very careful [Music] george suddenly realized something was missing no wham wham wham maybe they were done the building was built the blueberries would have to wait [Music] the building wasn't done but no one was working today maybe this was a perfect time to look around without distracting anybody [Music] how would he pay for the blueberries [Music] george was definitely going to give compass blueberries for his help gnocchi had never seen george look so worried george showed her the problem but cats think every wiggling finger is a game they can't help it [Music] maybe he didn't need a new yellow hat maybe all he needed was something like a yellow hat [Music] [Music] hundley tried not to wonder what george was up to he really tried [Music] but he had to know [Music] what would make a good hat [Music] same color perfect [Music] hundley had wanted to see what george was up to and now he couldn't see anything at all [Music] good color [Music] too floppy [Music] not floppy but too pointy perfect if he wanted to be the man with the drippy yellow bag hat [Music] the man with the yellow ice cream stick pyramid hat [Music] the man with the yellow blow up george realized that no hat he made could ever be the man's yellow hat [Music] but the hole didn't look so bad when there was yellow paper inside that was it he didn't need a new hat he needed to patch the hole [Music] the paper looked good but something made of more hatty material would look better [Music] something like a yellow sock [Music] up george did hundley drop by for a shower or is one of our towels running away from home george where's my hat gnocchi don't touch my clean hat it has to be perfect for tonight [Music] george why does my hat have a tail and a hole [Laughter] [Music] george couldn't believe he didn't think of that you see it looks great all right we've gotta go did you take a bath [Music] fixed hat fresh suit clean monkey i feel like there's something we forgot to do [Music] [Applause] george thought it was nice of hundley to notice what a rush he was in [Music] george couldn't wait to show off his unmelted trophy [Music] the yellow hat was gone so the man wasn't home [Music] george figured he'd impress compass pigeons like interesting things [Music] george forgot that pigeons like to land on interesting things [Music] when it landed the ice cream took on a whole new shape it just kept changing you dropped it oh you can't drop ice cream it splatters that's your plate from before it re-froze i give you a nice new one now remember no sun no dropping just get it home fast [Music] he's got even more ice cream [Music] [Music] another plate curious [Music] now there was no sun to melt it all george had to do was wait for the man with the yellow hat to come home [Music] a lobby leaf [Music] luckily george had time to clean it off so it would be perfect when the man with the yellow hat saw it [Music] luckily for curious hundley george wanted to show off his trophy [Music] it didn't make sense there was no sun he didn't drop it you run water on it oh that's gonna make it melt too yeah right but this is the look at this wow that's a lot of dirt i left hundley in charge and when i came back dirt everywhere if only i spoke dachshund i wish you spoke pigeon a homing pigeon's been living on our balcony for little blue pigeon with a yellow tag yeah you've seen it too that's compass i thought he was lost forever and i thought the pigeon would be happier on the balcony if it had a small tree to oh no oh bowling what if one of us spoke dachshund i bet this wouldn't have been a surprise george where are you oh [Music] [Music] is that a tree george had never felt prouder now that he had the perfect home the bird could live here forever [Music] compass good to see you yeah compass is an almost homing pigeon he won't admit he has a weak sense of direction george the doorman is the pigeon's friend he came to take him home to his real home [Music] everybody look who's home [Music] see he's back where he belongs [Music] i bought it for birds to sit in so you can draw them nice effort george but birds want to sit in a real tree compass look a real tree for you make yourself at home [Music] hmm [Music] the pigeon still didn't know what george was but he sure made a good tree [Music] george couldn't recall ever seeing the man with the yellow hat looking like this [Music] he was usually calm cool and wearing a yellow hat oh here he comes hello good morning come on in ready as promised [Music] ah it was worth living without it for three long days [Music] i'd rather carry it myself george you're not gonna wear your hat no i want to keep it perfect till tonight we're going to the opening of the new planetarium dome [Music] [Music] thanks let's get home before anything happens to my perfect clean hat [Music] [Applause] [Music] well we made it safely [Music] okay now george when i get back we're going right to the planetarium so take a bath [Music] there'll be photographers there i want you to look clean and fluffy george was going to take a bath just like he was told [Music] oh yeah [Music] it sure was a perfect hat who could resist trying it on [Music] george wanted compass to see him in the yellow hat it'd only take a second [Applause] [Music] george saw the hat fly this way but it disappeared [Laughter] [Music] the hat was back home and still perfect almost george removed the piece of branch as carefully as any surgeon working on any yellow hat could okay there was just a tiny thread there no problem maybe he needed to pull harder or maybe it had to be cut off [Music] [Music] george had forgotten that the last time he used his safety scissors was to cut his strawberry jam and banana sandwich [Music] it was only a small smudge all he had to do was clean it off [Music] this stiff brush got the grill sparkling like new every time and the grill got dirtier than the hat [Music] he may have scrubbed too hard [Music] he hopes studying the big clock would show him exactly what to do with the little clock [Music] [Applause] [Music] [Applause] [Music] george was glad that noise had stopped [Music] but maybe it was time to pack up and go home that clock has never stopped ever the big clock on the library stopped well let's go wait stew what are we supposed
