professional yeah yeah why do i look so professional so after after surgery part of my recovery it's i get really really cold during the day i'm freezing and then at night i'm getting hot flashes so we went out to eat and it was freezing not only was it freezing in the restaurant but you were even freezing it was cold for you and so he ran out to a store to try and find me a hoodie here and brings me back a long sleeve shirt leaves me at the restaurant buys a short sleeve shirt size medium because i did want a medium and then another short sleeve shirt size medium but the the the arms came to about here so i just kind of like pulled my arms in and and my arms tucked away and then he bought this shirt for himself while he was at it it's a polo shirt because because this it's burning up in here i think i'm having a you're getting high flashes i'm getting hot flashes now i think i'm getting hot flashes all right so what really everybody wants to know let me see if i missed any ready to tell your story yeah let me share first okay yeah definitely all right so uh we did announce we did announce this week who the lasik eye surgery winner is and one of the funniest things that i thought afterwards after people saw it they were like jeremy i said somebody with blue eyes and for those who know i can't see the color purple it doesn't exist in my in my color blindness and so i pulled this out and i was like oh somebody with blue eyes and then we cracked open the eye and i went back over the video afterwards i watched it again the whole lasik eye surgery team was laughing i didn't know why they were i just thought you know they thought it was funny that i had all the applicants in the eyes now i know it's because it's it was because i got the color wrong it's not blue it's purple right rayne just said that card made me laugh so i couldn't help but descend it uh made you laugh too it was good happy appreciate congratulations kathy and so kathy was the winner the random choice the comment just saying it's she did exactly what she was supposed to do she said i did all four s's i would love to and she said i would love to see again without glasses so that's incredible so kathy congratulations cool part is we're gonna get to meet kathy yeah kathy with the c we are we're actually going to be able to record her procedure and put it on the channel it's going to be amazing it's going to be awesome uh sword judges wants to know what color is barney purple how'd you know that who doesn't know that barney is purple and the next thing is as soon as you tell somebody you're color blind they go well what color is this what color is this they go through every article of clothing yeah his shade looks the shades of colors for him look completely different should we tell them yet that clear choice actually got me color blind glasses yeah so everybody everybody has wanted me to get colorblind glasses and uh clear choice in bruxville actually who did my lasik they went above and beyond yeah they actually got me colored blind glasses which you'll see yeah so for the first time he got to see what the shade of red looks like for the average person what the shade of green should look like to the average eyeball but that'll be another video you ready to tell your story yeah so last if you guys have been following the channel you know that i was diagnosed with breast cancer last year and then this year i was diagnosed with cancer again but this time thyroid cancer i do have to say that i feel like my breast cancer surgery and journey was a piece of cake compared to this surgery and recovery um my body is just out of whack and it's going to take time to to feel normal again um i did go in for surgery i had a total thyroidectomy um last friday i went in at 9 00 a.m friday uh cleveland clinic was the hospital that i had my surgery through and by the way they they're they've all been amazing right yeah from from pre-registration from the moment we walked in till the moment that i was discharged and went in at 9am friday and then went home 9 a.m saturday morning so i was there for 24 hours uh with the overnight state for them to to make sure that my vitals are intact and they they took my vital signs every four hours just to make sure that i didn't develop a fever or infection or appreciated the hole and to keep an eye on my calcium levels so if you don't know what your thyroid glands do for you they produce a hormone in your body for both men and women and without it your calcium levels start to drop so what it's been doing is it's been causing my entire body to feel numb and my entire body to feel tingly so before the surgery she always told me i did that to her but now somebody else gets credit so so it's it's a it's a weird experience because your your entire body is numb and you've got like the tingliness all over and the the parts where i get the most tingling and numbness are in my lips like i know that my calcium levels are dropping when my lips start to tingle and it almost feels like you ever have your legs go numb or your arms go numb and you get that tingly like like pins and needle feeling why i get that in my lips it's like a burning feeling for me thank you jason so that's when i know i need that's my cue to go ahead and start taking i have to take these huge calcium horse pills two and two three times a day so sick six pills total so um i get it in my lips i get it in my face i get it in my neck but all over so even after i take my calcium pills like it it alleviates like the numbness and the tingling but it's constantly there along with like lightheadedness and dizziness it's it's constantly there but but every day it get has gotten better um i feel like every day i'm starting to get used to the feeling even though it's still a weird feeling for me um and like i mentioned earlier i'm usually freezing during the day and then in the evenings i've been having hot flashes that is brand new hot flashes never she's always freezing but part of that is your heart condition is which we've never really talked about your heart condition we have it in depth ever talking about your heart i'm usually cold because the beta blocker that i'm on for my heart condition um keeps blood from flowing to my hands and my feet so usually my hands and my feet are always cold but is it safe to say there's just a million things wrong with you medically no okay because it's a bunch through a bunch some that we share some that we don't right um and then the hot flashes at night thankfully don't last for that long they last maybe two hours last night you were burning up i was burning up and it doesn't it hasn't gotten to the point where i'm just dripping in sweat where i have to take a shower but i do get hot but you have never ever i've never had a hot food in two years i've seen you it's always i'm freezing to death i'm usually pregnant and i'm freezing to death i've never ever seen her like this before she's freezing and i'm assuming a lot of it has to do with the hormone pill that i have to take every morning at 6 a.m i mean what other cause would it be what other reason would it be that i'm getting hot flashes in the evening so so in addition to having to take calcium pills two of them three times a day thank you so much the hormone pill that i'll have to do for the rest of my life um do the hormone therapy somebody asked do you smoke no neither of us drink or smoke no never been a smoker um and then you know i'm fatigued all day long i try to fight sleeping but there's times where i can't fight it and he'll walk in on me when i'm sleep and i'm sleeping then he records me when i'm sleeping no really what i've been trying to do is just baby stepping goals every day so like today was get in the truck we're leaving that was the goal yeah today was the first time i actually left the house to run errands we ran errands and then we met up with conkey and noreen and pittsburgh and his mom we met mama pittsburgh yeah very sweet um at an awesome restaurant in kent ohio doesn't even feel like we're even in ohio every time we're in there it's just hard to explain that restaurant but it's really cool and then obviously like asides from the incision and the surgeon did a really good job like i thought the incision would be a little bit wider but it's actually it's not as wide as i as i've seen on other girls that have gotten uh the the procedure done but especially for the size of tumors that you had right that's probably the most shocking part so the the size of my tumors were six centimeters and that equivalence to the size of like a lime or a peach both of them were that size and it's just shocking it's mind-boggling because i didn't feel it in there and i discovered the size of it when they were doing the ultrasound and like when i got my ultrasound results back so again the size of like both tumors were six centimeters which is just crazy i didn't feel any lumps in my in my throat then but i do now after the incision and i'm sure it's probably because of scar tissue and and having surgery in that area so um after we made the announcement not only was our p.o box flooded with love um but our our all of our our email and our social media and like all the comments were flooded with prayers warm thoughts and love and i want to uh thank each and every one of you that took the time to reach out and a lot of people usually don't comment on our videos or email us have come out and and said a prayer and every prayer did count and i i absolutely uh appreciate everyone that took the time to do that and we've even had a lot of people say you know i normally don't comment yeah they say i just i sit back and watch i've never commented before but i had to comment and and that that was very touching every single comment every single message has been read up to this morning it's very difficult to keep up with everything and so some some of the responses have to be just generalized thank you so much so if you can we we typically get 150 000 views every day on videos on all of our videos in general so you could we could get that many comments in a day as well in messages we get thousands upon thousands so sometimes it's just a general thank you and we got to thank somebody who just sent a super chat and i lost it already it was felicia thank you so much thank you for helping me to be brave for my illness also george thank you appreciate it i think that's one of the things we heard a lot is well even noreen was saying that today you know it's something to actually go out and publicly share that which you have no intentions whatsoever to share this time i didn't want to share it um but i'm glad that i shared it because i feel like it it brought awareness to people um and maybe maybe push people to share their story with us or maybe it was relatable to them or to a loved one or maybe push people to go to the doctors and get a thorough checkup because not only is thyroid cancer common in females but it's also very common in men as well is that why i'm getting hot flashes maybe when's the last time you had a thorough checkup and lab work done the 30 seconds of never worry the third there you have it folks the 30 second of neverwhere roman land five dollars thank you so it's been a little bit crazy yeah so so i've had nurse jeremy over here uh by my side he's stuck by my side during my uh breast cancer journey doctor j nurse jeremy doctor jay he wants me to call him dr j but he ain't gonna know he ain't no doctor i have i have like a little bell that i ring and it's not this one and i'm like nurse nurse so i got dr jeremy along my thyroid cancer journey and he's crickets i get no response guilty maybe you forgot that i did respond because you don't have a thyroid anymore so it could be memory loss i'm just saying yeah i'm saying thank you dill hall have you noticed a difference in my memory this week at all you've always had horrendous memory issues so specifically this actually got better it got better got better this week took her thyroid out and her memory is better it's on point now yeah it's finally it's there so so during recovery this week um i binge watched a couple episodes on netflix um umbrella academy so you finished umbrella academy yeah umbrella academy which is like if you're if you're into uh shows like x-men it's kind of similar to x-men right children born with uh super powers supernatural powers yeah and then i also started uh watching the office this will be my second time watching it but it's been like well over 10 years since i watch it so i'm watching all these episodes that i don't even remember watching them and i'm over here cracking up by myself it hurts to laugh so like my laugh is a little bit different but i'm over here cracking up by myself watching the office while you're out working so when you woke up from your shirt what do you remember from waking up from your surgery so i do remember i don't do well coming out of anesthesia at all like you did well the first time in your first surgery with your first bot with cancer which we will never be able to show that video well i i gave a copy to your sister so that if you ever erased my copy that it would always be somewhere as a backup i don't do well at all coming out of anesthesia but i do remember the nurse calling my name trying to get me to wake up and it's hard for me to open my eyes my eyes are always very heavy um and i remember her giving me ice chips and she gave me ice chips maybe three times and then i heard jeremy's voice and that's when he asked me do you know who i am in a joking way because of what happened last time so the first time she came she was coming out of her first round with cancer i came in and i asked her are you coherent what's my name and are we going to tell the answer no okay apparently we're not telling the answer but uh it was it was pretty funny yeah someone in the chat asked how's the pain so when i came out of surgery the pain was a 10 mainly because they put a breathing tube down my throat so a lot of people pain around the incision in our video they're like how dare you ask her questions she's not supposed to speak completely and totally viewers as usual completely and totally misinterpreting and misunderstanding everything that's in our videos there was a chance they told her she probably won't be able to speak for four to five days yeah because they they are right next to the vocal cords it's not that she can't speak if she wants to speak she can speak it was more of a whisper at first when i came out of surgery we were both shocked she could actually speak we anticipated she wouldn't be able because the surgery is so close to the vocal cords but she had no problems no complications but they put me on pain pills but that was the reason why her throat hurt so bad wasn't necessarily because of the surgeries point incision point yeah because of the breathing tube yeah so they shove a breathing tube down you so that's why her throat was actually my throat hurts so my my pain level they did such a good job at cleveland clinic um to maintain the pain after surgery um but it was still painful but they were always on top of making sure i got my my pain medicine and then um along with calcium and the hormone pill the next morning and they they actually let me stay till 8 pm which we thought i was going to be there for minutes we had no idea when i was almost two hours later getting back there than what they anticipated and we thought i was only going to be allowed to stay for minutes yeah because it took me a while to come out of anesthesia general anesthesia right or did they say surgery took longer they didn't tell me uh cece what's wrong said glad to see more coin pushers please are you ready to go see elvis yet i'm itching ring-a-ling and if you watch the video if they watch the video of me um my surgery video you see that i'm already looking at auctions i do remember doing that i do remember doing that she's like where's my phone right here like what are you doing looking at auctions i'm like oh my goodness she just came out of surgery yeah and then i wanted to get something in my stomach because all the all the the pain meds that they were pumping in me was making my stomach upset so i wanted to make sure i got some food in there so i ordered mashed potatoes well yellow twix that i brought you but then you're like swallow so you're like chew it up and spit into my mouth like a bird that's a joke between he i had him i ordered uh chocolate pudding and i had him crumble the the twix into little pieces and sprinkle it on top that was tough crumbling caramel that's tough catherine two dollars george looks so good thank you appreciate it it is not an easy thing to crumble and separate twix because of the caramel that was not easy but it was good on top of the chocolate pudding i put like three or four in there too i crumbled three or four and that was not an easy thing what else did i order jello pudding mashed potatoes it was all soft foods and then i ordered sherbet yeah sherbet and then hot tea which all helped my throat but yeah um you know prayers for anyone out there that is fighting cancer um so some people that i mean we've shared publicly mr draper obviously as well and because mick has given us the opportunity to share that for people to pray but and my my close friends the reset receptors so connie resecker as well and um it's just it's the amount of people who have reached out to us and go cancer cancer cancer cancer you know this is my story this is my walk this is my this is my victory or this is the battle i'm in right now it's just been overwhelming yeah yeah vicky just said i had my thyroid removed in 98 it takes time to regulate the dosage you're lucky to be able to take the calcium i have never been able to wow wow vicki appreciate it vicky yeah i was so afraid that my body wasn't gonna absorb the calcium and um like when my lips started burning and i started feeling funny um nurse jeremy over here called my doctor and i was telling her i said my lips are burning and she's like patient patient george over here is like i'm dying i just said i don't feel i don't feel right i just was dying i just said i don't feel right because he went to walmart to get some calcium uh in the form of chocolate and gummy and then gummy i was trying to find any any variety or any different ways that she could take calcium and then you text me and you're like and that's what yeah something's wrong with me and so sh and then um tums because toms is pure calcium so my doctor pretty much said stop taking the tums and the other substitutes and just double up on the horse pills so i went out and i got all these super cool calcium supplements have you tried any no i ate the did i eat a gummy with you i didn't try the chocolate the chocolate calcium tastes like a tootsie roll and then the calcium gummies taste like gummy candy it's pretty good but she told me not to take those yeah don't take those and just double up on the calcium with the vitamin d so and she said and if you're bot if you're if you start to get um what did she say cramping like muscle cramping or swelling around your your ankles then go to the er lynn thank you so much for 2.99 appreciate it lynn so so thankfully i've been able with the vitamin d i was already taking vitamin d that my oncologist prescribed me from my breast cancer so i had already i think taking that vitamin d um weekly helped with absorbing it too so there's vitamin d with the calcium so i'm able to my body's able to absorb it but it's i'm still not a hundred percent i still feel off but i i think in due time that'll that'll eventually like everyone has seen that has been through it that eventually your body will just adjust yeah nancy wants to know what were the symptoms before diagnosis which that's going to be a tough one because george has so many issues so to be able to separate from the other issues that she has going on is probably going to be tough but really it was just your doctor went you got a lump right my uh yeah my gynecologist was the one who put his fingers on my throat told me to swallow and felt the lump he only felt one lump he didn't feel the second one the second lump so they discovered the both of the lumps through the ultrasound and then that was those were discovered all right so phase one of cancer breast cancer those were our that was already discovered as we were going through the breast cancer correct so breast cancer was first then thyroid was second and then now she's got another concern and that'll that'll be next up so one is out of the way two is out of the way and now now once you're good there then we'll try and tackle number three yeah the third concern yeah so yeah that's been my recovery week and ccc bookstore one sent 4.99 you look pretty even without makeup at the hospital you're so blessed appreciated i look tired i look and i feel tired but overall i feel like um i'm i'm blessed to have nursed jeremy nurse jeremy says let's go to west virginia and go nurse jeremy wants to go caving again and inviting it is inviting any of you guys if you want to join us and do some spelunkling so so we did we went caving beforehand and we went into the bone cave and that's near lewisburg west virginia and we are going to go back to west virginia when the leaves are changing for a caving trip we'll be back in west virginia anyway but for a specified caving trip we will be back during peak color change season in october and we will meet up we'll do a meet-up and we'll do a caving trip with any viewers or fans that want to actually go caving and experience that yeah if you're brave enough and you're okay with getting dirty and crawling into tight spaces then you'll get to go see the devil's pinch now a couple things in regards to that number one you need to stay tuned we'll be releasing more information dates things that you need even need that i mean honestly you could go in shorts and a t-shirt if you want cave is always 54 degrees but you do want it but we will we will anybody who wants to go we will share with you the dates that'll be coming up and then it's at your own risk and uh we'll share with the an adventurer with you and you can go through bone cave and experience it as well and go through the devil's pinch
