oh so I think it's time to reflect and talk about power world so today I don't want to delve too much into the copyright issues or the comparisons to Pokemon instead let's just focus on my personal experience with the game what I would believe could be improved and my hopes for the future as you know power has undoubtedly taken the World by storm at the time of this recording it has sold approximately 15 million copies worldwide and that's just for PC and Xbox platforms there are other platforms where this game probably still has a chance to even expand and those numbers will continue to grow but as a fan of survival crafting and adventure games myself power world checked all the boxes for me I had a friend even recommended to me via Discord well before it was released because he knew that is my kind of game and you know what it turned out correct I've always played craft hook IIA before from the same developer which I found really enjoyable I just didn't have a lot of friends that I could convince to come play with me now reflecting on other previous games though that I've played in the past that had this very similar overnight success they're just a few things that I really hope the developers of power take to consideration the last time I actually felt this level of excitement for a game was probably when valheim came out and when it was released again it's one of those survival open world Crafters however there's even another game that actually serves as a prime example that I'd like to compare this to of how to not handle success that being player unknown Battlegrounds or as most people know it as pubg now pubg was this new and inventive take on Survival last manst standing games that I really enjoyed and it became very successful very early on but I feel like instead of addressing the foundational issues and bugs that existed and plagued the game for a long time the developers really just focused on we got to capitalize on our success now and started providing new content new cosmetics new maps when the core game itself really struggled this approach obviously led to in my opinion a a less exciting charm for the game I always try to think back to this game and think man it would be so fun to pick it up and play it and we kind of do just to be reminded of how terrible it is from a buggy infrastructure situation that just really kills any excitement on the other hand though for valheim despite its success I feel like the developers had a road map and they stuck to it they didn't just try to cash out on the overnight popularity and as a result the game is very polished and I think there's a lot of charm and stuff to do do in the game but the only problem is the content updates were so slow that by the time the new content was out I feel like the popularity and the excitement and Buzz had already dissipated so in conclusion what do I hope for po World well ideally I want to balance of both of those approaches right I need the developers to make it clear that they intend to work on the core games infrastructure and fix major issues before introducing new content because you can not continue to build on a poor Foundation but a great example is power world's building right now it's very basic it's rudimentary and there isn't a lot of complexity it snaps if you're lucky and you can't do much outside of that obviously a lot of folks really like expressing themselves through builds and different creativity giving a building system something around that is going to be great obviously it's early access it was much of an afterthought and I don't fault them for that but it is something that I really hope they spend more time on in the future in conclusion though I'm going to keep playing power world it aligns with my gaming preferences there's a lot of content that I like to continue to do and work towards and I still have a lot of exploring and ideas that I want to do outside of it I'm just hoping that everyone else around here understands that just cuz we have an Early Access game and there's a lot of new content that we really want now let's let the developers kind of fix the issues first and then we get the new content because I really hate for this to become a pubg sitting in my steam library with 700 hours and I haven't touched it in years
