tired of the Sun and want to live underground welcome to my cave base despite not being in the wide open spaces it is actually quite roomy and well lit thanks to this particular material this home is buildable from the early game so if you are interested in skipping the game starting location for plopping down your first home grab a suitcase and come move down here after watching this video you'll know exactly how to build your own cave dwelling whether it is in this cave or another one welcome Flame born this is earing night of the pseudo posi and we're back in enshrouded this time in the dark cold damp confines of one of its many cave systems why choose to settle here because we can make it quite cozy and freaking cool which is more than enough reason for me to establish a home right here so first question where is here whether you decide to join me in this particular cave or another one you'll ultimately need to come to this location to get the required building material I just figured it would be more convenient to build right where the material can be mined convenient right off in the distance you can see the ancient spire and brailen Bridge bringing up the map note the location I am currently standing to the west of the bridge and from this location run towards the cave entrance in the southwest and there you'll be hold on a second while I Trot over there so why this cave in particular well I already answered that briefly but now I'll flat out tell you luminous growth a glowing Blue Rock that gives off an eerily Blue Light which will be perfect for creating all the ambient light we'll need in our cave dwelling we'll need to find the perfect place for our alter within this cave so let's experiment a little bit I'll initially try plopping it down here in the main Cavern right below the deposits we want to mine as currently two of them will require building to reach I'm going to quickly build a set of stairs to see how we can reach the Luminous growth on the ceiling however I do foresee an issue if the deposit is within our alter region any mining we do will be permanent so I'll test that out as well I'm going to mine a bunch of it to make it visually different from the original formation if we proceed to exit to the main menu and load back in looking up reveals that the deposit we mined did not reset which is what I expected let's remove our alter and and run toward the entrance to place a new alter a bit further away maybe like somewhere around here-ish examining the border of our alter back in the deposit room doesn't look like the right placing we want the deposits to be outside of the alter range which it is but it needs to be close enough for us to build near it to mine while being out of range a delicate balance the ground deposit is easily reachable but it would be nice to access at least 2/3 of the deposits we'll skip ahead and show you all the final placement in the main Cavern right about at the top of the in line in the first Cavern and looking at the border of our altar we can see we are much closer to one of the ceiling deposits and just nudging up against the ground deposit excellent let's get to work I'm going to plop down some 4 met stairs here extend it higher not exactly a ton of space to try and reach the deposit but we'll make do this is about as close as I can make it which does actually allow us to mine the deposit so yay however currently it is awkward and ugly as hell to reach the mining position as the space won't allow us to position the stairs seamlessly fortunately there is a solution tunneling we need to remove a bunch of rock from the base of elevated stairs through the cave wall so we can directly connect to the ground it is rather dark here so let's actually Place some of the Luminous shapes to provide some light this is just temporary before we have more permanent light but this will definitely work in a pinch and regardless of whether you are in a cave you can use these to light up your build area at night on the outside just a general useful tip for you all the work is a bit slow you can definitely tunnel through Rock on the surface a lot faster for some reason but we've managed to poke a bit of a hole though that is not enough for us to squeeze through I've done a bit more work and made a wider opening I'm going to remove these bottom stairs we initially placed and we'll instead connect stairs to our newly revealed upper stairs put in a 4 M ceiling shape so that we can put in stairs coming in from the other direction there that is much cleaner and easier to get to took about 15 minutes or so of mining but it is worth the effort while I like the blue light too much of a good thing can be bad I think it's too overwhelming so let's replace all all of that with some melium shapes of the same type what we'll do instead is add the Luminous single wall block along the staircase edges this will be less blinding than making it completely luminous as we had previously while also gifting us enough light to see I generally like to do this for all the stairs I build not necessarily using the Luminous material rather using a different material from the main stair construction it makes the stairs more aesthetic to me and in this case it actually serves a functional purpose now since we are in a cave we technically don't need to do a bunch of floors and walls and ceilings and all that but I'd like to have some to make it feel more homey let's make the entrance to our cave dwelling on the bottom I'm thinking to make use of these Natural Stone pillars to form part of our wall I will fill this entire region with the 4 meter foundation and in case you didn't know in shrouded won't waste materials when you overlap an existing user made structure so you can overlap the existing floor you just put down and not waste anything again I'll use a bit of temporary lighting provided by the luminescent block to better see the gaps we need to fill in instead of the dirt Stone incline up to our altar I want to put in some stairs and kind of blend it all together maybe have some overlap of the natural cave in my ceum stairs if you want to place any lower stairs we're going to need to remove some material here with our pickaxe but I'll make that decision a little later instead let's start to put up some walls at the front of our home I'll use shroud wood for the walls to ju suppose that with all the stone in here the door will be right in front of the stairs we just placed let's get a window on the other side of the Natural Stone pillar and for now I am unsure of the window placement I'll ultimately want so I'll just put up some 4 M wide walls all around and carve out the windows later for our bottom floor I want to add some Pizzazz something to really greet you as you enter the door let's remove a single Stone piece in a diagonal pattern and replace with the luminescent block I think this will look pretty dang snazzy and make it a sharp contrast to all of our cave walls and wooden structure pretty easy to do but a bit more timec consuming if you have better lighting you could do this with any floor and substitute the bright blue material for any other block to add a checkered pattern to your floor with that done I've decided I do not like this incline separating our forier from the rest of our bottom floor I'd like it to all be connected so we're going to hack away at it and continue our blue pattern across it speaking of Separation I'd like to extend our staircase down to the main floor however the incline of the cave floor is a bit too much I'm going to chisle away at that till I can place down some stairs I still want some of the cave to poke through the stairs to give it an earthy look so I won't Whittle down the cave floor too much as we did with the stairs leading to our luminescent growth deposits I will remove the edges all around and replace with the luminescent block it will provide enough ambient light and create a sharp contrast with the surrounding materials instead of using foundations again as we did on the lower floor I'll simply use the ceiling shape to lay over the ground directly foundations use 256 blocks versus the ceiling which only uses 64 in a 4 m shape which will save us a ton of material and unlike the bottom floor I will not place the luminescent diagonal pattern it would be too much for my taste and I think as we work our way up into the cave we should use it a bit more sparingly and not spread over the entire floor now I want to add a bit of an overhang that we can walk on suspending over the bottom floor this will add a ton more space without needing to do more digging into the cave walls I'll Place some 2 m stairs around our Altar and for the corner between them we'll need to manually connect the stair pieces since there is no inside stair Corner blueprint simply extend each step from both stairs till they meet in the corner bam boom done from there I'll add some 4 M ceiling shapes to make ourselves a little platform our platform won't be complete without a railing so I'll stack rough Stones three blocks high with a seven block Gap in between the horizontal part of the railing is you guessed it more luminescent block we'll follow that around the perimeter of our deck for the stairs leading up to the deck I am going to replace the edges again but this time using my celium flat twist no particular reason other than I already have enough lighting and want to use a different material I've thought about it a bit more and I want to extend our Upper Deck to create even more space there's a ton of space locked behind the thick cave walls and digging through would definitely open it up more but I'd wait till you have a better pickaxe to do that and instead just continue building within the open Cavern and utilize the airspace like we did previously I'll extend the deck outward from this position under the stairs and the idea will be to connect it to the existing deck since I need to place another level of wall anyway I'll go Place Another Piece just so I know where the boundary is located and actually we can use it as a half wall for our deck for our little staircase I'm going to connect it to the main platform by just placing some single wall shapes I will actually widen the 2 m stairs we put in slightly by manually adding material on the right side of each step as I alluded to when making the deck I want to add another layer of wall to the front so let's go ahead and place wall sections all around the perimeter a good way to add detail to your outside walls is to put borders around your windows and doors I did that in my first enshrouded base to great effect but here I'll of course use our favorite Blue Block as at night it can get quite dark losing the light from our cave entrance and it would be rather unfortunate if we cannot see the door so I'll surround all the main features with the blue stuff including the stairs to our doorway I'll go around and do the same thing for all the windows except we only made one window so we'll need to carve out some more for the basic window frame you need a three High by two wide I'll remove those blocks and Surround with the luminescent as an added decorative element for our walls I'll put some simple crenellations on top a layer of the blue luminous block and then a single block with two block Gap in between I'll do this all along the perimeter wall and because reaching the proper position is a bit awkward to place some of these blocks I'll Place some temporary shapes for me to get into a better position and to kill two birds with one blue stone I'll use that material as my temporary stepping stone to also provide some additional light after finishing I feel it is a bit plain so I'm going to remove some additional wood shapes and add a glowing block below kind of like a saw tooth that looks better but I still don't quite like it let's quickly fill in the door and windows to get a more complete picture if you misplace don't worry you can pick it up by holding on here for our Wide Window we can place in two frames the window window dimensions are three high and four wide basically as long as you make the width a multiple of two you can place these frames I think my final adjustment to the crenulation design after adding in more stuff will be to make a solid line below our original saw tooth so I'll break all of these wood blocks and replace them with the old blue on the outside of our cave dwelling but still you know in the cave I want to replace the cave floor out front with the mycelium ceiling 4 met shape it uses a lot less blocks than the foundation and will adequately cover the region instead of opting for the luminescent decorative element as we already have plenty of lighting I'm just going to stack single walls of rough Stone two blocks high with a two block Gap in between simple but we'll add some more detail to our build not that we need it but I think it could be cool to add some simple columns on our top floor to look like they are supporting our cave roof it'll look pretty nice and give us more than just a bare cave wall I'll be starting with this 2 m ceiling shape to form the bottom of our columns you can place the blocks one by one straight up in a 2X two region and make temporary structures to continue placing higher as needed hold on a moment while I deal with our other inhabitant of our cave I think we'll need a permanent solution to keep him out last thing we want is to be caught while crafting something at our workbench anyways once you reach the top we'll Place Another 2x two ceiling and it can be a bit tricky to place the shape I took toggle off and jumped around till I got it a faster way to construct the column is to use a 2X two wall block which covers the exact region we want to build and will allow us to place more blocks at once and upon reaching the top we can more easily place the top ceiling shapes by temporarily putting some shapes behind us so we can better aim at the top as we will get all the materials back you can place as many temporary platforms as required I'll do the same thing for the remaining pillars and upon completion I'll remove all the temporary structures that allowed us to build I want to add some additional detail while I still want to show the cave walls I want to add in a routining wall just for some added embellishment nothing fancy I'm just going to follow the Contours of the cave wall with my shroud wood and build it up about five blocks or so high from from one end to the other I'm not being super careful here I just want a rugged look I'd also like to make a quicker way to reach the ground deposit higher in the back part of the cave fortunately we have plenty of space to add some stairs all the way up and as we did with the first set of stairs I will line them with the luminescent block around the perimeter since enemies respawn after logging back in we need to deal with our unfriendly guest I'll just add some simple walls with a door frame so I can enter and exit as needed where we have a gap I can use the 2 m narrow wall to fill it in and to continue our Mot teeth I'll add a row of luminescent single wall blocks and top it with a more shroud wood ultimately I did decide to dig a bit into our first floor to create a little Nook in which we can place our cozy bed away from all the hustle and bustle again when digging through solid Stone it is a bit tedious though fortunately we don't need to dig too far inside I'm going to keep the cave walls uncovered as I want a natural look for our sleeping quarters what you do from here is your choice you can place your trades people crafting storage wherever you like there's plenty of space to fit them as you need now it should be mentioned that if you upgrade your alter you will spread the range and thus cover the Luminous growth deposits I'd wait to do that till you can find a reliable replacement source after which you can expand your cave dwelling into the other parts of the cave but you really don't need to expand if you're not a dieh hard Builder and just want a nice cool place to put your stuff for those people out there this is definitely enough to provide you comfort for the rest of the game if you found the build cool Hammer that like button and if you want to see more ed content and other surv games on the channel consider subscribing and joining the ranks of the posi I'd also like to
