this letter just as he said you would while crafting this box for you in my cabin yesterday I was greeted by a man who looked very familiar he wore strange clothes and a mask with lights but I remember his eyes they were your eyes he handed me a curious artifact to lock within this box he said I wouldn't be around to see it for it would take 30 years before it was uncovered he said you wouldn't believe me and can't blame you for that either way it would make for a great story one day best of luck grandpa you know what's up guys and welcome back epic special puzzle today the saga of the future me continues apparently this puzzle was actually crafted by lab cerium for a fan of the channel by the name of Eric he wanted me to say hi to his two daughters Kailyn Olivia what's up this was supposed to be sent to him but he thought hey why not have Chris solve it on the channel it's a really really cool expensive and intricate box and it's so cleverly fit into our alternate reality narrative yeah this is actually not my grandfather's box but that is the story behind this box is that it's made by my grandfather who then was visited by my future self in the past and he left something inside for me which we have to we have to retract so I'm looking I'm looking forward to this this is gonna be insane thanks again the lab cerium and Eric without any further ado liked this video if you do enjoy these videos subscribe for new here and let's get into it alright so first things first I'm gonna show you guys I'm gonna give you guys a bit of a tour I've not really observed this thing myself as I wasn't allowed to my buddy ought to on how to set it up so it comes with this envelope and on top we have this chess board which you guys can see over here on the front we have this door here with a lock at a window over on this side we have this diagram here as well as another diagram here over on this side just two holes here this little circle that kind of moves and on the back as you can see over here we have a number we have a combination lock and some more symbols here we're not to flip this thing over or tilt it on its head or anything like that so let's just let's just get into it first things first let's read this letter oh there's a coin [Music] and on the quinces Victoria this is a one penny from 1897 a very old penny and on this letter it reads as a following my dear child it is soon time for me to go I will leave this world in peace I've spent most of my life chasing Marvel's and mysteries do not grieve for me as you read this letter you will need a clear mind to walk the path I made for you there are many things you do not yet know about me and our lineage these things are now your legacy you will no doubt prove worthy of them I cannot understand that I cannot reveal anything to you yet you are my kin you will no doubt figure it out by yourself I leave you two of my most precious possessions as to guide your first steps there are my first discovery and the first coin I've ever made for myself a good beginning is often the key to success let yourself be surprised yet not disarmed by what you will find inside this box you may need if there's any clues within this paper but I mean I guess we'll find out eventually we got this coin is there a coin slot somewhere for this coin is there a magnet in this point why do we need this coin do we know why we need this coin okay the coin doesn't look like it goes anywhere I'll put the coin side for now I guess the only kind of clue were given we have this diagram here with the chessboard up top we have these numbers three seven one five zero four four nine so that's three six eight numbers I have four numbers here and I have four numbers there do you think that those two numbers have to be split up let's try that so here three seven one five that's still a no and what if it's zero four four nine zero four I know you can't see what I'm doing right now but I'm just putting in the combinations to see if they work so that's a note three seven one five zero four four nine let's try it over here didn't think that would work either where's a shot worth a shot okay what do we do seems to be a drawer right here this here seems to move doesn't want to come out well if one of these corner things comes off here you know what I mean one of these uh uh-huh this is turning right here yeah that's the only one that moves oh there's some moves to down here okay so these things move and I don't know they're just because they're not glued down what do we do this is a bit strange I don't know what to do there we go that came out oh I know I think I know what to do boom all right so look I've gotten these two buttons out I think I have to use them in this spot here turn that to this camera so you guys can see there's a spot where you got to put two things in right here one and two uh-huh oh my god what the heck is that what is that all right so this looks to be I guess this one comes out so this looks to be a diagram that I have to replicate I did see a similar diagram on this side here so what I'm going to do because it's on that side I'm gonna take a picture of it which is this diagram right here and I'm gonna bring it over here and try to replicate this image because I think that's what we're looking to do how he looks like the base here is kind of set up so that seems to be it's pretty crazy I don't even Wow okay oh oh so that's the corner beautiful we got to get that Korver to get that corner up here here yes and that one else go up there too so maybe we that goes here so that stays there yeah that one stays there that one goes there my goodness okay this may take them this might take a second that one's there that's good this one has to go up there now this one has to be which is the one this now it's not a good time to test to text me I'll be honest are the worst time to get a text right now in the history of getting texts stuck we need to find the keys so I'm guessing there's something else that we haven't done yet and my guess is one of these combination locks holds the key to this this coin here has the date 1897 on it that could very well be the four numbers that we need that's a no-go okay over 100 what is that oh my god wait symbols we have symbols right here no on the other side let me take a selfie here oh my god gnarlie is that look at this what even what even ever looking at here and these wheels turn these are the things to turn oh my god so cool and satisfying oh my god that's insane all right so look okay so that is that that is that that is that that what does that mean to these symbols here so three is that e is that one hardly any sense to me right now there are letters as well we have a letter L we have a letter A Okay and e-a-l e-a-l and e we have to figure out what those symbols mean and what the order of the symbols should be so in orders that we can translate it kind of confused right now not gonna lie like what's the order is this the order one two three four so I don't know how to decipher this maybe I need to reassess here is there another number somewhere that I'm given okay I'm not so this is what I'm not entirely sure of if this puzzle is or is not sequential I think it is sequential to a certain extent because like we've like let's take this for example we open this side before we open that side before this side we could have done either one really if I would have figured out the date on this coin prior so I think there is an amount that is sequential but I think it is also not necessarily at some points and what I just absolutely figured out is that look at this coin look what that fits it's almost as if they wanted me to use this coin as a screwdriver hello I hope I'm not taking this apart okay but yeah I'm thinking this is the right thing to do here because there's no other way to take this panel off and there seems to be something underneath this panel so yes [Music] we have another combination can you guys see that and there seems to be a fuse let me turn this around for that camera here so this thing is plugged in so I'm gonna watch out with this wire here all right you guys see that over here so you can see we have numbers and we have a fuse and we have more numbers here more symbols than equal things I'm gonna take a picture of that too okay got it it says fuse so I gotta figure out the numbers there oh no there's a five numbers the other one had eight numbers one two let's count these symbols here three four five six seven eight nine 10 11 12 there's a lot of things there so we got a lot to decipher three seven one five zero four four four nine what does that mean what are we what are we doing here there's a drawer so we translate these symbols into numbers there's more numbers where do we get the numbers from three seven one five zero four four nine just come on oh oh there we go okay Oh what Great Scott lay this we all know what that does that's actually a sick Heat oh this is so cool alright we go on this side here what whoa look at this we've got chess pieces that are magnetized look at this this is a screen and there's like in now my eyes are yours okay hold on a second I picked this up this tablet it seems to be like a little electronic screen in here it had like this augmented reality where I scan the cube and said now my eyes or your eyes and then it went to this and made a whoosh sound I went to this so that's kind of what it is now my eyes are your eyes I don't know what that means but there are chess pieces here ok so I'm gonna put this back on the sticks here for now we got a cool drawer nothing in that drawer over back we got these chess pieces now in the letter it did say seize the opportunity to checkmate we got a black King here some of you may know I'm a fan of chess which these are all magnetized I'm guessing I just have to put him in check my easiest way to do that now is in checkmate that's checkmate right there I don't know maybe I have to move it into checkmate from the beginning check checkmate always seize the opportunity to checkmate so strange bizarre all magnetized oh we were given a letter I completely forgot about this we were given a letter I'm trying to jump ahead and get too excited I see chess pieces I want to play chess here special delivery lobster you okay here we go Q mysterious music my dear child I can see we're on the right tracks this is my second letter to you I will also now explain a bit more about my research with this letter have to do some math here I haven't done math and I don't know years how cool is that that it does that it's augmented reality all right so where it says x9 at the end you don't even have to put the multiplication symbol there I believe patients first so 21 plus 1 is 22 so we got yeah 22 and then over here we got 8 times 9 and 500 think I have no mathematical genius here okay I think we got to do 8 times 9 equals 72 we do 5 and we do 22 times 500 minus 72 which gives us 5 digits this 5 what we need over there 10 nine two eight one zero nine two eight one zero nine two eight yes it says on I'm a genius so good at math what does that mean that it's on and we heard a little sound in the tablet once again there's another sound oh here we go check this up camera number one so we got this here and we got this you know I don't know what that means but it's something I mean well there's more here okay there's symbolism everywhere over here on this here you've got those squares can you guys see that I'm brightening it up just so you can see what's on the tablet underneath that right so you got more squares you got small small small big I hear we got small big small small with a double triangle and here we got big small small small there's more squares on here I'm guessing we're missing one well you got that already doing okay what does that mean this mean those squares mean so I found three of these cube symbols and what they are is kind of like this so you got so you got these four like bases of cubes right and then one of the cubes is raised like like a cube should be one of them is raised and depending on which one I look at it I found three of them the cube is in different places and so I'm guessing I have to find a fourth one and that will somehow decipher a number for me I don't know I don't know maybe on the letter we did have an envelope [Music] there it is all oh my god so cool you see that right there so in real life that isn't there and it's used but that on they appear so maybe in the in the order in which I solved them so which did I solve first open this so let's say that's one it says the first one I opened which would make that four and I sense right the second one I opened was then the one I had to unscrew no because I opened this one first no so unless I got the order mixed up on which I opened them so maybe it's four one two three no it's got to be a number of that right this one has three triangles on this symbol here how many triangles is this one have it's got many triangles okay hold on this one you see this one gives just you see that triangle picture on the camera there it's like a double triangle so that's two triangles and there's that one four triangles two triangles Fortran this one's three triangles that's three the number of triangles maybe that's what Homa got it's so hard to see the triangles on this diagram three four five six and that is number one so six two six two three six two three six two three three four six two three four makes sense we count the number of triangles let's see if this works six two three four that's a negative good two five six seven seven two three four seven on that one seven let's turn this over for the camera here so we see what's happening inside Oh what is happening we got a pawn here now okay we got some sort of sort of rosetta stone to help us figure things out I guess that's words you were right there actually is a match between the symbols on your object and the ones on the remains found here are my notes hope they prove useful so my tablet's back into cloud form we've got another manuscript I've got whatever this is in here it's I guess we read the next letter what's this here first by the way oh my god notes my private research the lenses of Argos my door it's hard to spell a word here correct like what does this even give me if I don't know what this has to be after many many minutes which seemed like years we found this this looks to be a word you see that because in this part here I need to know what that word is so I can decipher the lettering of the ancient lettering it's a modern text and then fill in the blanks here but I need that word so I'm guessing I'm guessing this is the word holy okay how cool is that look at this check this out you see that you see the lens maybe that's the lens he was talking about I don't know you zoom in here look like it looks like love to me all right now to decipher the word love oh my god pull the chair love we're looking for al L is for the way you look at me o is something that rhymes with me L is those three lines right here according to this and those three lines oh my God look right here so the Elvis those three lines with those three lines is a different symbol it's like an upside down a that's closed off let's see if I can find it here I have to decipher like okay so I find the L I find the symbols I have to find another symbol now this symbol is probably in here or on here yep right there that's the symbol so that equals that and then that I'm sure in the notes goes even further okay this might be a little bit complicated try to follow me here I mean whoever put this together is pretty ingenious okay we're looking for the letter L what we know is that l equals those three lines okay those three lines which is here equals that triangle that triangle which is here equals an upside down a the upside down a equals M the M equals this symbol here so that is our first symbol this one boom alright so now oh this is great okay is this symbol where's that symbol right there which is the triangle but the other side triangle right and that triangle what is the triangle equal not this triangle but one that's upside down like that all right let's skip that one for now let's go to V V so V is the plus three lines which equals that which is right here so we have to find whatever that symbolizes which is that's not it here right there that symbolizes that thing so that thing should be the second one or the third one sorry my bad unless that's another symbol then we have to decipher looks like it might be yes right here on the other side boom it's right there so it's symbols the bow and arrows double bow and arrows so that's gonna stay there right here boom and now e e where's e easier e equals slash slash equals that that symbol equals that which equals that which equals that that make sense that's the arrow pointing downwards this one so all we're missing is the second one and I have a looksie maybe I missed one translation we're looking for okay so This was a great video. It's so satisfying to witness the amount of thought that goes into a puzzle like this and how it unfolds. Especially knowing that I will never be able to afford something like it. He obviously knows how lucky he is and wants to share his joy.
