Solo Overnight on a Simple Raised Platform and Campfire Bacon and Egg Pan Pie

welcome to corporals corner today we're doing a solo overnighter in a raised platform so stick around we have an outstanding show coming up ah here we are once again another Cove would free overnighter baby high of 70 low of 50 not a cloud in the sky sucks for filming but we'll work around that the new lens that I got right here hopeful it's working out for you guys alright so I'm on this natural shelter kick we slept in a tree used an uprooted tree slept under a tree and today I want to find multiple trees and build a raised platform it rained last night the grounds muddy I'm old fat and lazy and I don't want soup on the ground so I love sleeping in trees Ewok village baby let's get to it all right so check this out what I'm thinking is build a raised platform right here but I want to do it about the same level as my buttocks that way I can sit down on it some little footsies dangle off the bottom sort of flower over here I'm a utilize the natural features of this tree we have a crotch right here they can lay a pole inside here last it to that tree opposite of that crotch another pole lasted to this tree behind me over here rows of logs on top of that maybe something for a cushion some arrest and a tarp we'll be good to go and I'm thinking of wasting a bunch of cordage on square lashes or diagonal lashes we'll go with the infamous which means more than famous the infamous Jam not now as far as making that platform we can just eyeball it and it's kind of hard to judge it from a distance because you got to walk back to it adjusted why go through all that walking through the woods we found this simple ball jar it's probably been sitting out here for 20-30 years maybe even longer than that and it's not broken but the unique thing about this it's on the back side has bounced indicators and I can use this for a water level easy peasy lemon squeezy now my suggestion is if you have a lot of cordage and you don't mind using it go with the square lash or in this case a diagonal lash if you're interested in learning those lashes click on the icon the top of the screen and will take you to a separate video once again Cobra Kai or should I say Corp look I never dies [Music] I'm gonna say it we're looking outstanding borderline godlike check this out far as I'm concerned the beds complete we're wedged in right over here against that tree when I add a lash right here everything's secured in place good to go now for the section over here I'm thinking lash lash lash those two over there fill it in and now we've a platform for our boots headlamps things like that hang our pack right here and a tarp over top outstanding [Laughter] [Music] yes yes I know I changed the dam design looks more professional kind of like I know what I'm doing all right check it out yes yes I know trigger warning there's gonna be an improvised Marlin spike hitch on this end followed by improvised trucker's hitch on that end I used the same system think of it like this you're building muscle memory and you're doing it until you can't do it wrong now someone's gonna blow up the comments section and like they always do and say he did the same thing again I can't take it well before you take off I challenge you and I ask sincerely ask show me a system that's far superior to what I use not equal to superior something that provides a quick release on this end right pull stick in them it drops and I'm done and stepped on this end over here a better hitch where you pull the string and it drops taut line hitch is not the answer do not pass go do not collect your nose now for the ultimate test we're gonna add the core for what we talking about here we're talking about 240 pounds of twisted steel sex appeal and bacon grease oh yeah love it when a plan comes together high and dry off the ground roll into the old turd Ferguson once again like all my videos if we can do this we can do anything outstanding I'm gonna clean this area out down here had a fire over there no windscreen not needed that heats gonna transfer right up through here and up underneath these logs right here and bounce off this reflector I'll be warm and toasty all night but I am hungry af so let's get the fire going start cooking some chow [Music] [Music] [Music] gonna be another outstanding night's sleep but first we need to eat all right check it out those ingredients are looking outstanding by themselves but what we make in here I'm thinking baking an egg pan pie too hard to explain too easy to do let's just get to it [Applause] - easy you can't mess it up the bacons already cooked we added the oil so the eggs won't stick and all we're doing is cooking the eggs sunny-side up now our pie crust uncle race potato chips Parmesan and mozzarella and now for the taste test baking an egg pan pie [Applause] doesn't look like much compared to my other recipes but tell you what get those eggs in there it's any side up bacon parmesan go ahead cheese mozzarella uncle Ray's potato chips Oh [Music] now hot sauce is outstanding - ready Oh [Music] [Music] [Music] freedom fuel hashtag America it's going to talk about this shelter real quick before we get out of here I can't believe we actually still beat the rain I mean it's insane it's supposed to be dumping like two hours ago anyway we have a raised bed here we are discussed last night it's a lot of work for one night but this is the kind of thing you want to do for multiple nights or think about this you're in a swampy area or an area prone to flash flooding and looking at this right now I just made my coffee so not only you know we're doing this waist height or lower we now have a workstation or a table that we can utilize so I mean this thing comes in handy I mean it's a good idea sudden the practice get out there try it out we can improve this run the ridge line down the center get a larger tarp and I have an a-frame that extends past your bed because it still picked the water runoff you also put pine boughs on here Moss blow-up mattress with no worries of any sparks get on this and pop it in the night it's a good idea and I enjoyed it so something to think about another tool for your kit another awesome overnighter love this place welcome back last night was outstanding another awesome overnight here for the books one thing I might talk about lick lick therm-a-rest people keep asking me what do you think about it what you review alright so this is a third video I featured a thumb rest and I used it different ways on moss on the ground and now in a raised bed here's my honest review on this and please don't take it the wrong way to me it's a glorified military I so mad sorry is what it is now it's ribbed once again for our pleasures but it's exact same size weight style as the half-inch thick ISIL mats well I continue carrying it 50/50 do I recommend it 50/50 but I mean it's better than nothing so I will give you that with that as usual although here in this video can be found my Amazon influencer page or my self-reliance outfitters influencer page both those links are inside my description box now please do me a favor hit that like a subscribe button then we met notification Bell once you ring that Bell please select all notifications and as always thank you for your comments views and support thanks for watching get out in the field have some fun I'm gonna catch you next time [Music] [Music]
