Minecraft machine that makes more machines

i love self-building machines i also love flying machines so i thought i'd build a self-building flying machine machine which might just be one of my favorite names for a redstone contraption ever honestly i'm not sure how i haven't thought of doing this sooner i mean i know it's only really recently been made easy using honey blocks and i say that because people have done it in the past cubehamster i'm looking at you you absolute maniac but these redstone contraptions were enormous they were hugely complicated whereas now with honey blocks and the fact that slime blocks and honey blocks don't stick to one another i think we should actually be able to make something relatively compact here i say with a lot of hope in my heart i mean i haven't actually tried this yet the basics of the concept is i have all the raw materials required to make a flying machine in sort of like a magazine and then that magazine gets loaded into the system a flying machine gets constructed and flies out so i press a button flying machine press a button another flying machine press a button you get the picture little voice crack at the end there we'll ignore it so the actual flying machine assembly is going to be the interesting bit all right so these push down everything gets pushed across and then i need to move these slightly further out so things don't stick to them these observers then need to come up and end up here and then somehow these sticky pistons need to end up in these gaps and then the flying machine needs to be triggered and it needs to take there's actually that's a little bit that is a little bit there's a little bit going on there but it's definitely not outside the realm of possibilities so the first thing i've done is i've pushed our slime blocks and honey blocks a little bit further out and then i'm going to do something that i think is relatively smart i'm going to move our observers up and then across and then i'm going to push them on top of these things like this and then when i put the pistons in there's going to be one on this side and then there's going to be one on this side and then this piston is then going to get pushed across which is going to push this entire structure across so then the piston ends up in the right place the slime block ends up in the right place and also this guy ends up in the right place and that will also activate our flying machine and send it off i mean it should do everything all at once if it does i'll be very very very happy things are already beginning to look a little bit big and a little bit bulky but that should be all of the things i've just described or built and constructed now i do just want to put emphasis on the word should because haven't tested it i'm not sure what's going to happen let's see oh i mean that seemed like it was almost dead but it's actually miles off and after a lot of head scratching and some rather interesting redstone i love absolutely love the target block it's such a subtle redstone improvement but it's huge it makes weird things like this pulse extender which only affects this one block possible i mean that that's really cool and this is the only time i've ever needed it ever but it's come in handy right now this is definitely one of my geekiest redstone videos that i've recorded lately and i'm loving it let's see let's see let's see oh look at that that was wicked that was seriously cool so everything's retracted away if i was to break all of this and then replace these blocks which we won't have to do in the actual design and press the button again yes next stage is moving these two pistons across next to our slime and honey blocks now i refuse to believe that this is going to move this is way past the push limit isn't it yeah i mean it's miles past i think i've come up with something no i i think i've come up with something that is exactly what i need and then that's moved that piston back so then i can build another redstone line which will move that piston there and then this fires everything goes and then everything goes literally everything goes the flying machine flies off i can't believe how compact this is being and if you're confused as to what's going on right now don't worry so am i i'm just going to hit this button and we'll see we'll we'll find out together oh oh that's never good when you see redstone oh yeah when you see redstone dust drop at the bottom of your redstone contraption you'd know that that's when things have gone very south very quickly another one of my new favorite redstone features coming in handy here the repeater on top of the back of the piston making things possible that weren't previously possible and i think that genuinely has actually saved the day there it is oh there it is we're in the final stages now we've almost got ourselves a little flying machine now because i'm a bit of a weirdo i like my redstone contraptions to have these hard lines like this you can see this has got really nice dimensions okay it feels very compact it feels very solid dense but sadly if i was to have a double piston extender over in this area to pick up this piston then that would go outside of the dimensions and that won't do so instead i've come up with this system right here which involves honey blocks we need to power this piston pushing all of this across then this sticky piston will grab that sticky piston and pull it to this location then this piston will fire pushing the piston to here the only issue is is this piston i can't actually independently power but luckily it does get powered at some point randomly by a different circuit and i think we could be able to use that as i said a little bit earlier on very geeky very nerdy redstone video i feel like we're really close but almost potentially miles off like we're almost further away but close that doesn't really make any sense does it but it does however i feel like we are we are genuinely getting closer now like we went further away briefly due to some oh well that's that's that's embarrassing isn't it it wasn't a genuine flaw i just forgot to place in the blocks up the top don't worry once again no i'm not gonna have to do that in the real design ah good oh what happened something weird happened oh don't mind this guy just the target block being an absolute legend once again and you know what i think there's a chance that that little dude right there might have actually made the entire thing function i really it did it did it did the issue was was that there was some powering going on with the redstone torch here the only way that i can fix it is using the target block in this scenario and it fixed it and it made it possible and now this works we're done i've got so excited i've blown out my voice i mean all i have to do is just fire this double piston extender and then this should be off and we've got a flying machine let's stop talking about it and actually do it let's get to work and here we are ready for the first redstone flying machine constructed entirely by robots it's gonna work it's gonna work oh no i've got my observers the wrong way round that's a problem oh that's a problem at this point i was pretty close to giving up but my dedication to weird geeky and slightly obscure redstone solutions kept me going and i've come up with some really interesting ones here i mean we have we have all sorts going on i'm gonna put a world download down in the description just so you can actually take a closer look at this thing i'm gonna be totally honest i think this might be the proudest i've been over a redstone contraption in quite some time you know i'm just i'm really really pleased with this thing if we hit the button you can see flying machine is created the magazine has been reloaded this thing is going to travel off so that i can just press the button again and another flying machine gets constructed now i've added in a little circuit into this because i thought it would be enjoyable if i flick this lever right here i don't have to bother with pressing the button anymore the machine will just do the work so we're now getting fully automatic slime block and honey block flying machine construction look at this it's like a little factory look at it it's just producing them and the really cool thing is that i've added a little circuit into the mix that will detect when the number of redstone resources are getting low and it will actually shut everything off if everything goes to plan which means that we're never going to completely destroy this thing because obviously if stone went into the system it's gonna break everything so it should now be switched off and it shouldn't generate another one yes that system has worked these flying machines have been created by robots this is the beginning of the end ladies and gentlemen it's only a matter of time before our android overlords completely take over this has been so much fun i've missed just massively geeking out over redstone this is the geekiest and nerdiest i've been in absolutely ages and it's been excellent to the four people who have made it to the end of this video i appreciate you i hope you enjoy the geekiness and nerdiest and um i'll catch you at some point my brain's frazzled but in a good way you know it's like solving a really difficult problem multiple times over you know it's i don't know when you get a redstone contraption like that where you have to get really creative with a lot of the solutions that you're coming up with that's the best for me i absolutely love it that is why i love making redstone videos honestly i hope i continue to make stuff like that forever
