ALL 136 Features in Minecraft 1 17 (Caves And Cliffs)

hello i'm yeah x toy cat and the caves and cliffs part one update also known as minecraft 1.7 scene is one of the more confusing updates i think the community has ever seen because it is the first time mojang has split a major update into two like this and so in today's video i want to clear up the confusion around what exactly is inside part one by showing you every individual feature i know this title is not clickbait there really is 136 separate ones and i intend to show you all of those in this video by the way if you want to see more of these videos and take control of what comes to you on your homepage make sure you subscribe because you can see all of the update content for both caves and cliffs part one caves and cliffs part two as well as what comes after that i'm very excited for the future of minecraft and you should be too and allow me to explain the first feature because we've been standing in it this entire intro it's the amethyst geo did you know minecraft is getting an amethyst geode it's very exciting and they'll spawn randomly underground these amethyst geodes are the only place you can find these crystals which by the way uh the crystals come in four separate phases there is the small amethyst bud the medium amethyst bud the large amethyst bud and the amethyst cluster if you mind this amethyst cluster you'll get some amethyst crystals which will be especially useful the amethyst shard is its full name in minecraft um and then also you'll be able to find around this the calcite block it looks like this i like the cal site block a lot some people like the smooth base salt some people like the block of amethyst and some people i don't think anyone likes the budding amethyst but this is where you're gonna find these brand new amethyst clusters so very useful all things considered but you know what else we're gonna be able to find we're gonna be able to find lush cave features so lush caves themselves will not be appearing in this update but you will be able to find all of these features so first of all we've got obviously the uh the glow berries these are going to be able to be found in mine shaft chests only for 1.17 later they'll spawn naturally like this but you can place them underneath a block and then you can obviously uh grow them if you want to using bone mills or more glow berries um that they're called cave roots is the official uh you know term for them it's very interesting uh but they'll give you glowberry fruits also there are small drip leaves small drip leaves as well as big drip leafs are of course very useful because if you stand on them just like this um what actually happens is you can as you can see it's pretty cool in my opinion uh the trip leaf will start to fall under your weight and you can make like temporary parkour that repairs itself because guess what after some amount of time you can stand on it right again it's very cool also hanging roots are i don't think cool is a word for them but they do have this like giant inventory uh icon which maybe you find interesting also there's the spore blossom again look at this thing very pretty right also there is moss carpet which you can it's again it's like carpet but it's made from moss can you can you get that and then also we've got over here the rooted dirt this is something that's going to spawn a whole bunch around azalea trees we've also got the moss block moss blocks are only going to be found first of all in shipwrecks but again later you'll have the lush cave where all of these things will spawn naturally including by the way the uh azalea which you plant down becomes a flowering azalea becomes azalea leafs and flowering lazily leafs and of course this is the overall azalea tree itself it's very nice in my opinion so as well as the lush cave features we're also going to be having some we're going to be having some drip stone features so this is a drip stone block it's a i honestly like it looks very ugly right but i've seen some uses for this in building um i i think there are some pretty ways you can use drip stone um also there is the pointed drip stone so interestingly enough unlike stalactites and slag mites which in real life you might think of as being very different things uh trip stone is the exact same block whether you place it on the ceiling or the floor in both situations it or lately rather if you fall onto the floor type wow it hurts you because it's spiky and if the ceiling type falls onto you which we're going to do right now using this pickaxe kind of poorly i guess but if the ceiling type falls onto you then what's going to happen is that's going to hurt you because it hits your head this means we actually have two brand new death messages which is kind of exciting also did you know uh the 27th cool thing we can do because yeah there was we still got over 100 more to go by the way um but did you know lava is now renewable this is exciting to me and apparently no one else i'm the only one who talks about this but if you have lava and then you have some intermediary block then you have drip stone you can have infinite cauldrons so if we pick ourselves out a bucket and we take this lava which has filled itself up and then we stand here for long enough you know what's gonna happen it's gonna fill right back up again lava if you have some of it you can have a whole bunch of it and although you're gonna need a lot more than four of these if you want to farm hundreds or thousands of it the fact that you can now farm lava is cool i think a lot of players who love farming will love this a lot more than me but even me your son who just likes doing dumb things of lava is really appreciative of now having an infinite source that is renewable and no longer limited in your world this means therefore arguably even though obsidian you can generate infinitely obsidian also has the exact same thing it's very delightful so i'll admit we're taking a bit of a stretch here by saying the bucket of axolotl and the axolotl spawn egg are the 28th and 29th features whereas the axolotl mob itself is the 30th you're not it's being a little bit cheeky here maybe it really is only 135. you tell me what you think but yeah basically x lottos are a brand new mob they're super cute and they are tameable in the sense that they will be friends with you if you again if you give them some tropical fish then they'll eat the tropical fish and then they'll fight you or they'll help you fight something underwater fight with you i guess is the terminology also they're super adorable who doesn't love axolotls you don't not love axolotls because that would make you a monster and so that is a fun feature in this update just like copper and my god there are so many variants of copper so um obviously uh honeycomb already exists in minecraft but there's an interesting thing you can do with honeycomb and that is waxing copper blocks so uh this is a uh a copper block if we right click it with this we will wax the block and then if we use our axe we can unwax it so what is the benefit of waxing on and waxing off your blocks when they're waxed they will never degrade so this block right here um obviously it is bread it's fresh it's fresh copper you've placed it down if you leave it down for long enough it'll become this and if you like this block enough i don't think anyone does but you can wax this as well or you can wax it off um there is the wax fahren and the non-wax parent then there is this version right here which is most of the way to blue it looks a little bit rustic which i actually do like in some ways but then there's the fully oxidized copper which if i'm not mistaken that is its name yeah oxidized whereas this is weathered and this is exposed copper basically this is the 37th feature and it's really interesting because you can actually wax the uh you know you can wax this and stop it from going any further uh degraded but obviously it's like well that seems dumb right why would you need to wax it and there is actually an answer to that that i think will come up later um but yeah did you know there are wax and on my experience for all of these as well as for the stairs for the main block the cut block i should say uh for slabs made of the cut block as well for the exposed cut blocks as well as for the exposed slabs for the weathered stairs and the weathered slabs and also for the fully oxidized stairs and the fully oxidized slabs there are so many copper variants and if i show you in creative inventory form uh right now you'll realize like oh yeah there's just there's so much going on with copper and wow did you see something else there you might have seen the copper ingot or you might have seen the brand new raw copper which also by the way there's now raw gold and raw iron this is a really good solution in my opinion to the the raw problem with ores is that previously if you mined diamond with a fortune pickaxe you could get between two and four diamonds that seems uh you know pretty fair right everyone's used to the fortune in shaman if you mind iron with a fortune pickaxe you got one iron and it seems as though they've taken a board one of the cool pieces of feedback and made it so getting raw iron means you can get two to four raw iron when you mine an iron block with uh fortune if you want a gold block with fortune you get two to four raw gold or up to two to four and then also with a copper you get quite a few for mining by default and you can up to 12 copper ore when you mine it with a fortune pickaxe it truly is incredible uh in my opinion we can take those raw items raw copper raw gold and raw iron and make the raw copper block the raw gold block and the beans block i mean i i don't know why you need raw iron to craft beans it seems like they made a bit of a mistake there but the beans block is crafted with nine uh raw iron and i think that's fun yeah obviously this is ryan i actually think that the raw gold and the raw iron blocks are kind of game changers because they look so distinct and strong and i think they're a lot better than the iron blocks and the gold blocks that exist when you smelt it so yeah fun fact that's a useful thing also um you know an interesting fact is raw iron and raw gold blocks can't be smelted themselves you have to turn them down back into raw and raw gold and smell them that way so uh speaking of brand new features that are maybe uh lesser known about and have a ton of variants did you know there are so many deep sleep parents there's deep slate there's cobble deep slate stairs cobble deep sleigh cobble deep sleep slabs couple deep sleep walls deep sleep tile stairs deep sleep tiles deep sleep tile slabs deep sleep tire walls deep cracked deep slate blicks cracks digs cracked deep state bricks cracked deep slate tiles chiseled deep slate and then there's also the infested deep slate there's an interesting thing here um that adorable hoe helped me put this wall together i believe made a mistake here of putting the blackstone pressure plate instead of the deep slate and doesn't it show something really interesting that they never update have this new black stone kind of thing and then also there is a deep slate variant for some reason there isn't a deep slate slab but there is a black stone slab i'm sorry a pressure plate i'm not sure the logic is there obviously there's a ton of deep slate slabs look at this very beautiful right the deep slate tile slab i personally think that the cobble deep slate has some value but deflate tile is what gets me excited this is a block i want to build with this is a block i wanna you know not look at very long without feeling too sick also by the way it should be mentioned there's also the polished variants which look like this this this this also there's the deep slate brick which looks like this again i like the deep slate bricks i like the uh the uh the deep slate tiles you might like the polished version and you might like the cold version but you know what some people like uh i know ibx toycat videos and look where that gets you also in this update there's deep slate uh all of these versions of oars um obviously a lot of these won't spawn naturally like the deep slate emerald or ever same with a few of the other ones with these uh i think deep slate covers another example but just bear in mind they will exist in the creative inventory and later there'll be some more actual generation purposes for deep slate diamond for example but yeah there is a whole ton of new creative blocks if you're working on a map you can enjoy these and you can make a slightly harder to mine version of something so here is another really fun one did you know you can combine these amethyst crystals i mentioned earlier with some copper to make the spyglass and the spyglass is really useful because what does that sign in the distance say i really do try try and tell me what it says because you can't without the spyglass you know i i like this complimentary uh sign right back there that that's a very good idea so next up here we have the lightning rod this is another cropper proper craft recipe that isn't just a copper block in some form uh this will allow you to if lightning strikes hypothetically um it will allow you to uh obviously strut it you know lure the lightning into a particular space and something else you might have seen is that wait did you did you see that the oxidized uh block the you know the blocks that were previously oxidized uh became unoxidized when lightning strikes copper it goes back to orange i don't think this is how it works in real life you can fact check me if you think i'm wrong there um but i'll show you this again just because it's so interesting to me it you know it feels incorrect but did you know oxidized copper will turn unoxidized it will turn right back to regular copper blocks if they're struck with lightning something you can accomplish with lightning rods so that gives the lightning rod some amount of use and also it gives the honeycomb some more use because if you do uh hypothetically really want to keep blue uh your copper blocks written no matter what you can obviously do this to them and then if they're struck by lightning then they won't turn back and so yeah it's it's a very weird uh specific feature is it gonna be really that useful for most people no is it cool anyway you better believe it is again i feel like this is the feature as a survival player 99.8 percent of people will have zero interaction with but uh you know minecraft needs some features like this in every update and so i'm glad they have them also look you can wax uh whatever you want it's very fun uh speaking of things that are very fun tinted class is one that a few people have asked me what is the point of this outside of farms because tinted glass blocks light from going through it it is again i imagine a tinted glass in a car or something but imagine it's not a car imagine it's minecraft so tinted glass is really cool and to prove its value here is some light again it looks like you can see the light through it but it's blocking out the light from the highest light source in the game lava and it makes this kind of evil villain's lair tunnel right i really like this but then when you make a light you can see like ah yeah you can you can isolate light sources from each other meaning that behind that behind on this side of the wall you could have mobs spawning even on the other side the wall would be super bright and vice versa of course isolating light source is a really cool feature that i think mostly technical players will enjoy but you can enjoy it as well and that brings us to the 108 feature candles did you know candles are coming to minecraft in 1.17 unless you play bedrock so bedrock is getting candles in 1.17.1 if i'm not mistaken um the reason as to why they're only on java is a whole thing we could talk about um it seems like the simplest feature because it literally is just like here are some candles you place them down and then you place more down and then you place more down and you know i really wanted to count like one candle was a different item to two candles it's the three and four uh but i decided you know one candle one item so here is uh the 108 feature uh as well as the 110th feature the 112th because obviously there's the block and there's the thing 114 16 18 20 22 and then guess what they come in other colors as well you get all 16 colors of candles which i think some people will appreciate maybe not you but i i personally think candles are kind of cool as a light source for natural feeling cave stuff again the the secret villain uh in me is very excited by this followed by this look at this by the way tinted ceiling is it day or night outside you genuinely can't tell probably anyway so also you can place these candles on a birth cake and the great thing about that oh i'm eating the cake that's not what i want to do if you place the candle on a cake you get a candle cake it's very exciting and is ruined if you eat the cake apparently so you're not that'll teach me to eat cake you know it's bad also you can get rid of the sign that way very fun so next up here we've got the glow signs because glow squids are why did you vote for this minecraft community okay i'll admit compared to the you know the p cow and compared to the isolature it's not the worst thing you could have voted for but um yeah looking at the glow squid uh right now can you see the glow squid i feel like you can't looking at the glow squid right now is a mob it obviously does glow not just in the las and if you kill the glow squid you get some glowing sacks why would you want oh here is this how we make some glow squid spawn oh that is really cool actually wow that it actually does look at that you can't see it with the lights on or maybe you can you know was it there the whole time i guess i'll never know okay it did spawn so as you can see it's really really cool uh using tinted glass to have these effects and also honestly yeah isn't this beautiful just the way the whole thing works lighting is very good i like it so next up here glow signs if you use glow ink on a sign it will glow so uh here is my glow ink that i prepared earlier and here is me using it on a sign look how much better it looks with glowing con and so yeah you can use it for any of the colors if you really want to i i like it a lot i think it's very great and you know what else i think is great the glow item frame every single item frame used so far in this video has been a glow item frame and that's because they have this nice little just again i would say glow to them that i find very delightful one of the remaining nine features in this update there are goats did you know oh my god they are screaming very loudly because there are goats and there are screaming boys this is a screaming screaming boy uh whereas these are non-screen boys uh the screaming goat is a cute little thing and on java right now goats are literally useless there is zero need for goats to exist besides you can take you know i'll show you right now you can technically milk the goats look at oh wait my bucket's not gonna unfill itself you know let's hope that lava doesn't affect my goats negatively if you have a bucket as well as being able to get powdered snow you can use it to get some milk look at that i'm milking the goat and uh the goat milk has no difference to cow milk right now but you can use it in place of mushroom milk or cow milk if you want to also did you know that the uh oh god also did you know powdered snow is a brand new uh bucket item that you can place down like this uh it can only be placed in this uh in these uh you know kind of buckets and the only way to get it right now because it doesn't spawn naturally is you need to place a cauldron down while it's snowing and the cauldron will slowly fill up then if you have some leather boots on like i do now you can see how you can stand on top of it it's very nice it's very exciting maybe you like that too maybe also you like the fact that shulkers can reproduce if a shulker hits a shulker um then the shulkers will reproduce it's actually very interesting to look at so if i show you right here here is a shulker hitting another shulker it makes the shulker do this weird kind of reproducie thing that i i don't even fully understand but it is a feature in this update that i think is great because shulkers have been in short supply for a lot of people and then finally you know i should go back into this this is why this is why shulkers suck you know get out of my way anyway so the next thing here is the fact that they updated all of the ores again i could have counted these all individually but i'll just count a texture change as being one big feature all of yours now have distinct patterns if you're color blind you know actually let's simulate your color blindness right now wow you're color blind which block is which so you can recognize the distinctive kind of smiling face as being diamond that's the old collord pattern that's the old um it's most of the oars honestly whereas now every other all has its own pattern this is coal this is iron this is gold this is redstone this is emeralds and this is lapis it's all very nice you know what's not nice shulkers don't you hate them wow i hate them too so the final feature the 136th feature in this update is the fact that mine shards will sometimes spawn with chains or pillars if they spawn too high above the ground they'll have these wooden pillars to separate them from it and if they spawn kind of floating over nothing they'll have these chains linking them to ceiling i think it's a very cool feature personally maybe you agree with me and you know what i said 136 but i did in fact clickbait you because the 137th feature is that you can actually um make absurdly long titles for things it use this again right now it's only on java but if you want to you can have 55 character long names for something so here is my 55 character named sword and uh yeah that's all she wrote and i hope you all enjoyed this minecraft 1.17 feature video uh thank you
