I Tried Spending $10,000 On Anime Figures In Japan

hello and today we are in Aki Hambra now if you remember a while back on my channel me Joey and got had a challenge to see who could buy the most interesting figures in Akihabara under a set budget last time it was 500 this time it's 333 so it's a total of ten thousand dollars for that YouTube clickbait and we're gonna be revealing who won this Challenge on the corresponding episode of the trash taste podcast so if you do want to go and watch that I recommend you watch my video guard video and Joey's videos first you can go to that episode and see who won this Challenge and who bought the most interesting figures but right now all we're doing is focusing on buying these figures and we have four stores today and there's gonna be set challenges in each store but we're gonna be going in this store first which is Dashing man I've been here before it's a pretty good store very cluttered so we'll see how it goes last time I did pretty good so I'm hoping that today I can solidify a win and not lose again so I guess uh wish me luck this is everybody's favorite trash box code an inside trashbox [ __ ] is challenges that will make our life hell here we go trash box Kern two challenges for Russian bun go for it get a non anime me figure oh good luck with that come on capture Gods please I have awful what is it what is it yeah the most expensive anime figure you can find but if we find one that is more expensive and we don't tell God he doesn't get the point yeah JoJo figure and do the exact same pose all right easy enough that's a nice challenge I wish they'll have JoJo figures here right they do they do I know they have JoJo figures I think let's go next and my second one is get a figure that can beat Goku I don't sell figure of HIV get a figure from a game that Conor has played are you [ __ ] kidding me do they sell Apex or League figures mine is close your eyes and randomly grab a figure slash wall scroll so what is a level one crook level one crook level 100 villain yeah mafia boss mafia boss can't difficulty all right I guess without further Ado we should uh go in the store and complete our challenges let's go oh so these two challenges were a mixed bag for me finding a non-anime figure in an anime store might be a little difficult but I was pretty sure they'll have something and grabbing anything at random to get a point is pretty easy but it might take a toll on my wallet flashing then has a ton of varied items so I'm sure there'll be something that we can find here that'll look beautiful in our office good luck gentlemen okay Jerry's leaving he didn't even shake your hand what a rude boy I already found a non-anime figure right in like 10 seconds look at this it's a Cano isn't this like one of the Collectibles one it's unopened Han Solo I think this is actually woof it's worth some money words to live by Connor oh of course we have mailing as the cameraman again shout out to mayleen Maybelline has the best banter on camera oh look at the watches oh it's from fate oh [ __ ] God might want that oh my God so I want to get something that isn't the Han Solo one no Star Wars has an enemy now but whilst trying to find a non-anime figure I might have found a very expensive figure that God would have to buy look at this one it's 700. Terminator it's not an anime it's 400 I can't like that that's ridiculous because we have more money we want to be getting higher quality figures yes we do have more money 333 but we also have to spend a minimum of 500 in each store or we lose a point so in every single store I'll try my best to at least spend over 500 and if you're a weeb you know that's pretty easy Arnold Schwarzenegger I think I have to get that one that's the only non-anime thing I've think we've seen yet Netflix has ordered a Terminator anime it's not out though oh it's not out yet so it's fine oh my God why is probably shouldn't have done that challenge in the hentai area you go for the Jolene I mean part six is coming out right so maybe we'll get Jolene there's gonna be a little overall budget it's gonna it's all about hurricane oh my God he followed his heart but he probably didn't follow his dude he didn't go for the full point he was in that Edo section for a while too whilst I was very happy that I completed both of my Challenge and spent just over 500 I went for a quick roam around the store and to my dismay I found something and I don't like it there's parts to Caribbean figures here for ten dollars I spent 200 on a [ __ ] Grindelwald figure I could have gone Orlando Bloom for thirteen dollars the reason why I'm still looking for figures is because we have more time because I finished early turns out that was a mistake I should have definitely had uh checked this part a little more [Music] all right now that we've done store one it's time for store two which funny enough is in the exact same building just on the fourth floor it's a stop which you might remember from the previous video was the one that looks really cool there's figures everywhere in glass cabinets it's quite the aesthetic I must say so far I've spent around 600 which is a little more than I wanted to spend I'm a little worried because ASAP you can really spend a lot of money and uh these boys I think they're gonna save their money I think I don't know it's so hard to strategize Smashbox two in round two oh this round's my round I'm gonna get the discount he's literally just jinxed it Jesus Christ Joey I whilst we're at all of the stores for example the closest to 420 spent on any figure in any store wins a point as well as 69 in any store on any figure there's a bunch of overarching challenges like this that make the competition a little more exciting including most spent on one series most spent on one figure most spent in one store and a bunch of these other ones on screen right now that you can see and all of these are playing into the reasonings why I choose a certain figure or buy a certain crappy figure I'm playing for points and also my heart we're back once again in a stop which is like the Haven of anime it looks amazing and I just found a Gojo yeah you did anyway so we're in a stop right which is like the coolest store in akihabra visually I mean you're just surrounded the walls are anime the floor is probably anime you breed anime figures this is where I'll come if I want to get some figures because sometimes you can find some of these things for really cheap I need to spend 500 I need to buy that Gojo we're going to try and find the 420 and the 69 here as well what these are 1 000 each and it's Dragon Ball you know why it's Dragon Ball because it's garbage terrible Hunter Hunter which is one of my favorite anime series of all time and you should definitely watch it if you haven't it's amazing please do that but there's one scene in it where he gets super duper duper long hair and this figure is just a tiny version of him with extremely long hair I've never seen anything like this and I love it it would be a bad move to buy this but it's so cool it is very cool I love this I'm getting it I'm getting it I've never seen that before yeah that's sick I'm getting that one this is so good I think this is like the definition of insanity just going around this doing this over and over again yeah getting Sebastian did you not I don't know I think I'm gonna cash out are you I think we've uh we've got a lot I don't think we'll get any more can you do some good figures it was time to go to the next store amiami which you might remember from last year's video and in amiami were doing three challenges I know the guards look dumb but that's what the store asked most money in if I had roughly two thousand dollars left I would spend fifteen hundred in this store and then spend just over 500 in the next store so that I would for sure win the most expensive figure and the most spent in one store so it was time for me to look for the most expensive figure in this store if the podcast is by the section he has to do so many squats Gone Gone God I found stuff that's from Kiki's Delivery Service Castle in the Sky okay let's get these to get the points for this one two three four five that's six that's enough No One's Gonna get more than that I'm gonna get that point I've already spent like a lot of money doing that though actually I'll deal with the consequences of my my actions and then I had a genius idea for one of my challenges get a figure hundred and twenty dollars so if I buy this thing that I do not give about I know nothing about I will [ __ ] over my friend and it'll be worth it I kindly asked our trash days intern to find out if this was a gumpler or not and of course he went right to Joey and showed him the thing now Jerry you saw the price right he did not comment on the price but he wouldn't comment right away right he is but there's only one here yeah I know but that might be something and he might think he's got it so he might not try again in another store or he might try and get it out of his bag now I'll buy it anyway okay I had a plan there's a challenge for getting the most spent in one store and the most spent on one series and I thought okay well if I've got the bike I may as well try and get something else the other cure a figure which will put me on like 800 on one series I feel like you bought the Akira thing with the big arm like I did I did yeah so we could have a whole set so if I get this that means I've spent like 800 on Akira 100 on the thingy whilst they buy 400 figure plus the Apex stuff I probably have just enough left I think that means I'll spend 1500 in amiami somehow got a concert Jerry right I'll do that all right after I was done conniving I realized something wait he watched evangelity movie this year yeah oh my God it's so obvious I want to get the movie because I don't want him to be like well I didn't watch that movie I watched the other movie the problem was there was 20 different thousand types and I didn't know which one to buy and I was running out of did unfortunately I did have to remove an item and I'm kind of sad about it but I think we did all the challenges and I think will spent will have spent the most in any single store that is 1 580 I don't think they're gonna beat that but I also spent about 800 on Akira so I don't think any of them are going to spend more than that on one thing I hope and I think we've got the closer to 420. we did a lot of things in this store and I'm hoping it pays off and so after spending nearly two thousand dollars on anime figures it was time for the last store so we tracked back all the way over akihabra to go to mandaraki so I have two things that I really need to accomplish in this store one spend over 500 which is easy because we have 520 left and two is to spend exactly three thousand three three hundred and thirty three dollars total so we need to spend as much of that money as possible without going over and for this store we have a only one challenge to complete so hopefully we get an easy one if we just don't stop here and don't go over our budget we should be fine and don't buy any duplicates we'll get the double we'll get the dub everybody shut up are you going first I'll go first all right final one here we go oh God oh my God don't give me a [ __ ] please don't be guards all right last challenge of the day get a figure of a fake character that God does not own on fgo yes get a figure from a show that all the boys have watched ask the store staff to recommend a figure for me and buy it in Japanese Japanese all right all right let's do it the final challenge let's go boys so now that I have my added challenge I was feeling pretty confident as I know there are a bunch of classic shows with tons of foods out there that I'm sure the boys have watched oh my God that's so sick holy crap only you had three thousand bro if I had 3 000 Yen that would be it I find it I would have bought this that's sick Buzz Lightyear too you got alien we got Batmobiles I could just find another Neon Genesis if I want to get the anime they've all watched challenge not worried about that is that a Hitler no just kidding is that a Hitler no it's a Starlet that's arguably just as bad maybe oh they're both pretty awesome I don't know why there's a Stalin figure I guess some people want that oh okay so one of the cool things about stores like mandarake but normally there's a bunch hidden behind so if you look behind see what else there is so that's the fun kind of thing about looking for anime figures you're just like never sure what's truly there until you start pulling everything out the thing that I find hard about shopping fanime figures is that as a JoJo fan I get cripplingly addicted the moment I see the JoJo section and it's very hard to do anything else so if you're a JoJo fan I'm gonna geek out now there's also two figures here that are the horses of the main characters in JoJo part 7 which are also super expensive oh my God Harvest that is so cool oh that's sick it's so cool I actually don't know what to do there's another floor Mandrake has two floors of anime figures they're eight floor and seventh floor and the seventh floor tends to be more than figures like we're talking really old animes from the 50s and 60s and just some vintage kids toys in general are you approaching me fellow [ __ ] I'm like IRL Beavis and Butthead I swear my God doesn't it oh this is like the expensive old type figures right okay hold on I don't think there's enough stuff here it's like Beyblade dot I'm on oh the Akira figure I bought and it's cheaper than the one I got oh well this is the this is the hard thing about being an anime fan when you're looking for figures in akihabra the figure that I bought in the previous store for 250 is here for 220 sucks to be an anime fan you know sometimes you just want the right price and you want to pay what it's worth but sometimes I just like see what I want and then I'll go around to other secondhand shops to I mean compare prices what I normally do is is that I'll go to the stores like this to look at them and then I'll go home online and get them for the price that I think they're worth uh Yahoo auction yeah Yahoo auction you normally get it way cheaper but obviously that's not the challenge it's just not to go home and help me on the PC it's Digimon go on the stores I really like the Drone yeah they've all watched code kiosks so I think you're getting this one [Music] I didn't I need a hundred bucks spend on some exactly 300 bucks I do like Joseph Jonathan with a sword here oh my God look at this man's that ain't it but I need to find something for 300 bucks or the equivalent of 300 bucks maybe I should start buying JoJo because I'm stuck whenever I'm lost in my life I think I should watch JoJo do something JoJo so I'm gonna buy it there's a 220 JoJo figure here or maybe we can get these four they add up to 11 11 and then I just get 10. it turned out that all of my strategizing was pointless because in mandarake on some of the figures they actually add the tax on afterwards not in the label but some of the figures they have the tanks included so it was very very very difficult trying to figure out the exact amount I was going to spend because 10 would be added to a lot of the staff and not others needless to say I was stressing out this is 10 with this would God laugh at me if I bought this yes wait why would you buy that it's uh it's got a nice number that I need oh really yeah it kind of helps me kind of go for it it's nice I mean I've I've taken all the Savers out of the equation you even got saber at all of course he's gonna have the safest he doesn't stop talking about them that's true obviously that's it this is like the only good shaver no it's crying but like say everyone knows that face zero is the only actual fake series that matters that is a joke I'm just trying to trigger the Fate fans I'm sorry I know I've decided what I want yeah um sadly I was about 30 over and I didn't know why so I got rid of one of my figures and now I need to spend 4 500 to get the exact amount so that I can win this goddamn challenge okay okay let's hope four thousand five hundred please please please please please please please please please please please oh there's tags I'll tax itself oh I didn't see that I'd ask staff was tax included and they said yes but it turns out that it isn't for some items this is the moment when I learned that so now I had to scrap everything go back to the drawing board and try and figure this out this is pretty much how I spend the rest of my time in this store going insane trying to do this oh 4500 yeah but it's is that tax included definitely don't get my hopes up like that man don't do me like that dude I'm tired of looking at figures I'm so annoyed again you figure again in my life I'm so [ __ ] tired of looking at these stupid plastic things I love figures but my head is like just looking at prices and going insane what's this 4 400 this is the closest we'll get it's 100 off you see anything for 100 yen oh there was I remember somewhere 165 yeah 165. that would get it within if we get three of those how many of them is there I'm trying to do the math right now this is hard I'm what if I get this and you're asking if this includes I feel so relieved I felt bad I felt like me mailing was worrying as well we are this much which I think is more than anyone else and better than anyone else it is a lucky number if someone beats me I'm gonna cry editing this video now I just realized that meant I went 7 Yen over our budget and now I just realized something that to get to that exact price mark that I had to buy an extremely cheap figure which meant that I would also lose the challenge for buying the cheapest figure which means I lost two points trying to get this one point except Connor's dumb and I lost two points getting those two points so profit out of the deal and Gamers that was it that was it that was the end it ended at zero all money's gone like like when we thought three thousand dollars cool that sounds a cool idea we didn't like yeah compute how much [ __ ] we would actually buy because we put a lot of [ __ ] you know at least we can take pride right you know akiabara stuff has been closing the stores have been shutting down today we did a good thing I think we saved akihabra ten thousand dollars did we just save anime we saved anime today are we the Savior we're the Savior we single-handedly brought these stores from the brink of bankruptcy
