Helldivers 2 Lore - What is Super Earth?

welcome citizens of superar today we'll be starting a new series that explores the lore behind both hell divers 1 and two its World characters and much more so to begin let's start off with some Basics what is super Earth it is the year 2084 when mankind ventured into space we were curious to see if anything loomed behind the Stars unfortunately we were right the initial contacts were peaceful but soon the people of super Earth realized the potential danger of communicating with alien species and before we knew it they had started our first Intergalactic War for 40 years the war has raged on a conflict whereby three hostile alien species are hellbent on a single goal the total annihilation of the human species luckily the fighting Spirit of man has not decayed since the last great war on Earth we are now stronger than ever man woman and child alike are encouraged to try their strength in the ultimate test to have the courage to defend super Earth so this text gives us a good glimpse into the early days of super Earth's Celestial exploration and Conquest but it doesn't touch much on how super Earth was founded sadly there's not much more information on the creation of this great world but we do have a hint in the previously read text where we learn that the hell divers current war is not the first on Earth this line the fighting Spirit of man has not decayed since the last great war on Earth suggests that there was a great War prior to the events of Hell divers we know that the current year is 2084 at the time of Hell divers 1 and that this war has gone on for 40 years which means this previous war would have taken place before 2044 from pictures of super Earth we can see that this is a futuristic dystopian world that mainly features skyscraper cities and high-tech trains throughout given its name I think it's safe to assume that superar is the same Earth that we live on just taken over by an extreme Democratic structure we can see this in the following text from the hell divers encyclopedia mankind has improved upon the old concept of democracy utilizing computer AED voting software citizens are asked to answer several questions and the outcome of their vote is decided upon by the computer this removes the uncertainty that existed in the old old systems where voters didn't fully understand what they were voting for giving us managed democracy the leaders of super Earth have definitely created an interesting political landscape for their citizens people don't have the ability to truly vote for what they believe by answering pre-made questions that are without a doubt created by said leadership an automated system decides how that citizen will vote if this seems like anything but a true democracy then you're right the the computer AED voting software is most likely created and managed by super Earth's leaders a few notes from the hell divers Wiki gives us some more insights into the political climate of superar the superar broadcast screen in Hell divers 1 states that questions regarding the Federation or government of the super Earth shall be sent to the appropriate quadrant it is illegal to express oneself openly about the Federation or government of superar in a negative Manner and serious cases may result in arrest or termination and one of the privates on the ship's Bridge mentioned that their neighbor apparently press charges on their son for not honoring the superar flag implying that it is considered a crime serious enough to Warrant turning in one's own close family members so superar keeps a tight leash on its citizens and makes sure that any naysayers are terminated so as to not destroy the unifying democracy that holds its people together it is also noted in the ranger Pack DLC for the first game that before super Earth's unification some of the hell divers were originally Riot police officers fully trained in military assassination and reconnaissance operations this furthers the idea that before 2044 there was a great war on Earth perhaps even a civil war that ended with the unification of Nations to form the Democratic Society we now know but even after the unification of Earth it seems that not everyone was on board with the new democratic system the first use of iconic hell divers was when the socialist government of northman's Creek tried to secede from the Federation of superar after 50 hell divers dropped into the parliament they were quickly executed and the planet brought into compliance something interesting about this entry is that it mentions the planet was brought into submission northman's Creek may sound like a location on super Earth but it's actually on a separate planet keep in mind super Earth may be a single planet but it is the home world to the super Earth Federation and finally as one more nail in the coffin for the political climate we learned from the first game that citizens of super Earth are required to fill out a lengthy form known as the C1 perm if they wish to legally reproduce man the more and more you learn about super Earth the harsher it gets but again if you openly disagree with any of the federation's laws of regulations you will be subject to imprisonment or more likely termination so best to keep your opinion to yourself I think it's best summarized by a comment left on a recent
