doing what media are you consuming movies are slowly opening up to the world again new things are slowly rolling video games nothing you have resident evil village i guess is the only thing that's going on like what last year was for movies this year is for video games so not a whole lot going on but it is exciting to see some new movies rolling out uh this weekend i watched what was it mitchells versus the machines which is on netflix it's the latest sony animation movie um really solid actually uh it is it's actually really solid i mean like it's the spider spider verse folks yeah it's the same people who made into the spider verse and you can tell that i mean here's the thing that blows my mind sony animation clap and a half to you uh you went from emoji movie to into the spider like i think it's important to acknowledge the fact that sony was the same one who did emoji movie which is like the the lowest of low that you can get with creativity to into the spider verse which i think everyone would admit was like incredibly well done incredibly forward thinking animation that was really pushing the limits of what 3d animation can do like that movie is just phenomenal um matt have you seen that movie i have okay good i'm i'm glad to hear it i you know i i don't assume that you've seen anything you know that one i made it to the theater okay good and and it's totally worth it right yeah i'm a sucker for like uh weird animation yeah it's so cool oh it is so okay so if you're a fan of weird animation uh mitchells versus the machines you will absolutely dig to me it is one of the most similar to into the spider-verse it is one of the most modern feeling animated movies like they get it they get what modern storytelling and what what modern animation looks and feels like uh it feels fresh in a way that's not cringey uh because it incorporates a lot of like filters stickers the sort of visual style that you get on social media um like instagram stories and youtube stories with overlays that accentuate what's happening on screen but they don't overdo it and and i say that my initial if i heard that my initial impulse would be like ooh that sounds real bad they do it in a way that's like inappropriate moments to emphasize heightened emotion or big reactions things like that so it doesn't feel forced or overdone uh and it feels very in line with the main character's aesthetic she's the main character is this uh you know young filmmaker who does quirky and who does quirky kind of like indie projects that the type that you would see on youtube funny comedy parody videos it's really good uh and her aesthetic is all this kind of like hyper edited you know let bright colors whatever it's really really good uh but yeah if you're and you can see the influence of into the spider verse where they're comfortable mixing animation styles they're comfortable you know doing a lot of weird effects and and using it to add to the movie rather than subtract or or you know just kind of do basic like it's another 3d animated movie so highly recommended the other one i throw out there is uh steph and i and uh sophia nygaard and uh her husband tyler we're good friends we see each other a lot uh but we've been watching old dan brown movies which is the uh tom hanks da vinci code angels and demons uh nat it's it's kind of like those national tr we watch national treasure we're really into like the clue finding mystery solving like cross-country adventure movies right now uh which has been really fun um da vinci code still really enjoyable uh if you've never seen it if you enjoy our channels you'll enjoy it because it's literally like this clue leads to this clue and wait a minute in this picture there's this secret code that leads to this other it's it's goofy it's fun it gets you thinking about wait a minute is there really the illuminati um it's it's really good did you watch those movies matter now national treasure you saw okay national treasure is like the go-to it's great still haven't seen the davinci da vinci code is the more like serious national treasure i guess but it's thinking man as much as you can have a thinking man's national treasure but yeah it's that i missed that era of movies though where i they were i mean da vinci code was based on a big series of books right so like it wasn't that much of a risk but it's you know nowadays and matt and i were talking about this before we started the camera but it's like nowadays you go to movie theater if you go to movie theater but you see like previews of what's coming up and it's like ghostbusters 5 latest mcu you know spin-off number 300 of x like i missed the days where you could like just see an independent movie which is why i liked mitchell's versus machines too it was like hey this is a new property it's cool it's completely original work i love that but yeah i miss i miss those days where you could like go into the movie thing you're like i don't know if this is attached to a franchise or not like this is just a cool standalone movie that i'm gonna watch yeah movies were allowed to be bad because they didn't have like billion dollar budgets yeah it right you they were able to release more lower budget movies that ran the risk of maybe flopping but also could spawn their own franchise nowadays everything has to be a hit has to be a hit it has to be ahead because and the best way to secure that is it's part of the monster verse it's part of the dark cinematic universe it's part of the mcu comic canon you know for good or bad yeah it's it's an interesting trend anyway completely removed from all of that unrelated to anything that we were just talking about uh welcome to scary games friday where today we're playing a demo of a 2d horror game called deep fog because look at us we're supporting small independent projects that aren't attached to a mega franchise that i tied it in it was a transition how was that if you want to support small independent uh creations that aren't tied to mega franchises but could be mega franchises one day uh tune in to gt live so today we're spotlighting deep fog uh this is just a very short demo of a horror game but uh both matt and amy recommended it is this amy matt you yeah it was a collab oh collab okay i don't know anything about this but i trust their judgment at least in games for today we'll see how it goes so let's see how this is uh i mean the avatar looks really cute i like i like cute animated dogs that's a winner spooky horse spooky horse crab spooky horse ant oh sorry devil beetle so spooky spooky horse beetle let's see how this is oh we already starting spooks starting the spooks out deep fog okay here we go let's do this oh okay so it's a five uh five chapters great coming soon wait for it thank you for patience thank you for patient uh do you know anything about the backstory of this one very little okay cool it the the uh the translation and the fact that your other language seems to be i'm assuming japanese it looked kind of japanese um don't quote me on that it might have been a chinese or a different it didn't look korean um but it reminds me of devotion or the sorts of games that kind of started uh somewhere in asia and have translated over which is cool uh i will say some of the best 2d horror back in the 90s like back in the super nintendo era was you know starting in japan and then translated over uh you had like a murder house i think it was called uh you had uh clock tower and stuff which i think all started in kind of eastern gaming market and then moved their way over so i'm excited to see this chapter one dinner oh so this isn't is this a demo or is this a full-on uh the demo is chapter one okay the demo is chapter one oh cool okay great please turn on sound it's all i feel like that's crucial for oh playing time is about 15 minutes okay super super short great yeah i find in general my enjoyment of games is heightened when i turn on the sound there's news on tv about fog city missing persons cases the fire in the mountains fog city is not calm recently man that is a that is an awkwardly shaped tv isn't it that's that's that is the logical conclusion to our modern modern day aesthetic right where everyone is filming stuff and reacting to stuff in their ver in vertical format we lost the battle friends widescreen is no longer a thing tvs are just gonna be made for the vertical phone great telephone it seems to be only used to call supervisor today is my second day at work it's best to check the staff rules again fog city cemetery number four staff rules this is a cemetery only for unidentified corpses oh geez except corpses with no questions asked put it in the coffin bury the coffin pushing cross into the ground oh jeez only bury the coffin by day and take lucy on patrol at night so that's our dog i'm assuming remember to feed lucy and treat her well if you have any questions call the supervisor hmm i keep that in mind take lucy to patrol before feed her oh man if we feed lucy early does she become like a gremlin all right got our axe axe for chopping wood what is the uses of fire what is the uses of firewood matt can you think of a use for firewood wood theory why is the uses for firewood right that's it every episode is a new use for firewood i love it you can chop it suck on that everyone who's been expecting book theory to be the next one a twist it's actually wood theory oh hello a commemorative commemorative bronze statue the inscriptions on the you want to go to bathroom he's like i do not want to go to a potty right now i do not want to go to potty two coffins were already filled the rules say burying coffins during the day i heard they were burned to death in mountain fire if i don't see the corpse directly it's not scary all right coffin cart oh here's lucy lucy oh my gosh she's so cute time to patrol oh lucy you are so adorable yes you are adorable chewing the moan what should i do i want to pet lucy first pet lucy lucy looks happy why must the night guard take care of this stupid dog oh let's go lucy let you have dinner after patrol lucy puts down the bone lucy suddenly feels alarmed what's wrong even if i say you are a stupid dog there is no need to mad at me there is no need to mad at me matt don't you dare mad at me i will be sad at you in return you mad at me i sat in return comments don't don't mean at me otherwise i defensive at you get understand not at all it's like we're talking yoda there's something wrong with the game okay here's lucy wait we can keep going though i'm going to go this way i should bring lucy i did lucy's there come on lucy lucy looks nervous i have to check if there are problems nearby okay fine come on lucy some spooky at the gate the gate is still locked lucy starts barking oh no what happened to lucy oh no lucy see luke i oh gee what the heck lucy come over here now oh jeez what is this sniffing around a big bag it's blood lucy is no longer barking there should be no yep that's the metric of danger lucy barking not the giant bag of blood that fell onto my corpse card totally fine we're all good we're in the clear ladies and gentlemen have no fear we are safe there's a note on the bag what should i check let's check the note first you always read the note before you open the present let me see what's in the note the note reads sorry to bother you so late to avoid accidents i have cut off all their heads have a nice have a nice day h h this is killing and abandoning bodies i would never look into the bag i have to inform we should call the supervisor first okay come on lucy let's go call the supervisor this this is bad news this is bad news bears no it's called a supervisor hey a giant bag of headless bodies fell from the sky onto my cart phone can only be used to call the supervisor yes that's what i'm doing there we go thank you i'm like all right connected hello speak here is cemetery number four this is new night patrolman i'm just getting ready to patrol when suddenly a big bag of corpses was thrown in the logic of this scene is great i was just getting ready to patrol when all of a sudden a bag of corpses headless corpses mind you thrown onto my corpse card you know it was it was a mild surprise to me it's mildly shocking mildly upsetting please call the police call the police why because this is killing and abandoning bodies what should i say note he doesn't seem concerned about the body so i'm going to say note and there is note on it there is note signature is h yes how did you know to be on the safe side you need to burn these bodies directly with the wood next to the cabin for tomorrow morning what where is lucy how is she she is fine now well that's okay take lucy on patrol bye he hung up on me oh man does this have multiple endings i feel like if i don't take lucy what the it's ridiculous come on lucy let's go on patrol i'd better wait until the morning shift comes actually it means throwing the mess to the morning shift great that i'm fine with that you know this is one of usually i'm a big advocate for doing your job but uh in this case i'll pass it on i'm okay with that can i not use the the wood to burn the bodies i guess not okay let's see how's my bloody bag doing doing oh okay hmm the bag looks fine it looks fine still still bleeding profusely but traces around the bag it looks like a wild animal broke into there oh god there's blood everywhere lucy it seems this is your job let's drive away animals from cemetery all right great great so good let's drive these animals away lucy oh no all right here we go someone tells me it's not an animal is it zombie oh look at this beautiful artwork look at this beautiful art stone statue that can be seen everywhere in fog city seems to have specific local belief symbolizes life and death creation and destruction i'm a foreigner and don't know much but that's unexpectedly suitable in the cemetery looks a bit like uh like a shiva statue or shiva a bit right with the four arms one two three four no five arms so a little bit more that's what that pose though reminds me of ooh the sound design is great sound design is super creepy it's so easy to get lost in the cemetery to avoid getting lost when i go back i'd better remember the route well right now there's just like three very clear arrows oh jeez okay all right uh all right so we're gonna go [Music] let's go up first oh geez it really is okay oh wow there's a lot to do okay so this is down that's where we want to go cat scream what what happened sounds like a cat okay okay i'm gonna do my best to remember all this what's going on the tombstone was destroyed doesn't look like the cause of animals first someone discarded a dead body then someone destroyed the tombstone and one of the supervisor has to hire a night patrol right this is the most active cemetery ever oh okay i'm gonna keep going to the wow this is confusing oh i'm okay this was oh geez i'm totally totally lost now i'm gonna go back [Applause] just because i don't like this route getting getting a little bit confused right now okay so we started here so i'm gonna go up this time let's see oh look at all these sign posts whoa that's upsetting where is this is there such a place in the cemetery where is this is there some oh yeah where is this is there such a place in the cemetery uh i might be caught in a loop what's going on here he's very shocked by this uh okay he's just dumbfounded by the number of signs uh okay we might have gotten caught in a loop here or something uh excuse me one minute technical difficulties i will be right back on this one [Music] okay i think we're back to where we were um i'm kind of wandering through okay there's blood everywhere seems to be animal hair on the ground is this a bone come on lucy let's go ahead to c all right so i'm not going to that like big sign place because i don't want to run the risk of that's the only thing that i've done differently is i'm not going to the sign place again because i don't want us to get caught in a loop but now oh someone's going to attack us isn't it what is it is it a zombie is it a monster some of the graves were dug there was a gruesome stench is the source likely an animal gulu who is it show yourself uh oh here we go cat not bad oh did he eat the cat cat i don't understand what you're saying who are you is that yours oh no don't eat my dog what is mine give it to me if it is fresh i'll share it with you oh that's nice of him what is your choice head oh no don't you dare eat lucy or legs uh what should i choose i don't want either honestly i'm gonna say head though if i if i were to monster i won't let you eat lucy or just eat you lucy is ready to rush forth lucy wait the monster is too big listen carefully there is an axe next to the cabin you run faster and get it for me you put a lot of faith in lucy right now buddy lassie go get the axe and bring it back here my life depends on it what are you thinking you idiot look of course the dog is responding with a f in question mark axe do you you know our character in this game is not the brightest bulb in the box i gotta say do you know what i am saying woof you guys disgust who can i this monster is also shockingly patient like honestly dog top tier monster top tier our character probably deserves to be eaten at this point who can i eat yet go get the axe wow lucy is really fast human flesh not bad too okay oh geez he is fat holy geez he is fast okay he's stopped by the axe or just wanted a break oh okay okay here we go go time here it is down okay go walk as quickly as you can oh this was a dead end i'm definitely dead all right well that's why i guess i shouldn't have forgotten the way tips uh yeah that's your tip ladies and gentlemen obviously obviously that's your tip right matt it makes total he's an among us imposter obviously lucy is the imposter eject lucy from the airlock wow chewy chewing chewing lucy eyes eyes didn't change yet hey wolf can you change body freely what exactly are you lucy's just looking at you forget it thank you for protecting me you know honestly you could have done that without all the rigmarole of running back to get a bone and back you've eaten so much still up for dinner deep fog chapter one dinner completed that was great oh unlock chapter one card nice i got the card okay i should prepare to feed you first okay oh our sack is slowly diminishing interestingly oh what the heck oh my gosh what not again hold up oh my gosh what is this ah phew it seems that cutting the head down is not enough isn't it lucy woof lucy looks very happy who are you did you know lucy lucy come here lucy leave the city if you don't want to die let's go lucy and we go to find an old friend [Music] i think i should quit my job i would agree with that one good call see that is a night guard who understands how this game gets played you see something like that you quit you're just done i'm like you know what i'm good also use cards as wallpaper report bugs to us there was a bug i'm reporting a bug right here i got caught on that one sign that was great that was super fun i love that i love the art style i think the concept is really cool the animation is incredible lucy ripping open and attacking that monster fantastic i can't wait to see what this is i can't wait to see chapter two deep fog ladies and gentlemen uh i don't know if there are other endings i'm assuming there is right like if you feed lucy to the monster maybe the game railroads you into you having to do you know lucy running to get the axe but maybe there are other endings where by feeding lucy to the monster you just die repeatedly um or by giving a certain body part you die i don't know i'd be curious to find out so anyway deep fog excuse me deep fog i recommend you checking it out for yourself very cool uh very interesting project i can't wait to see more from it uh really disturbing again like i know we live in a day and age where it's like wow you need 3d games and like graphical fidelity ray tracing whatever you don't need that sometimes you just need a really cool concept and you know a cool art style and this is exactly what it is so good on them i'm excited to see more congratulations uh check it out for yourself and i'm done for the day my voice still in the recovery process i lost it last week uh you might hear that in some of this weekend's theories uh i had to hand one of them off to the editors but the rest of them i was able to get through but um i'm still in the recovery mode so i'm going to take a break right now thank you
