7 "Stealth" Takedowns That Were the Least Stealthy Thing to Ever Happen: Commenter Edition

recently we investigated the times that a stealth kill was pretty much the least stealthy thing to have ever happened but it turned out we'd barely scratched the surface of ways to take out your foes in games without letting anyone know it was you our loyal subscribers were fall to bursting of other suggestions and since we don't want our subscribers to burst we figured it was best to examine even more times that taking the stealthy route was the most conspicuous thing in the world here are your suggestions of stealth options that were anything but use it to conceal yourself if necessary the Metal Gear series is steeped in stealth with Solid Snake spending many hours hiding inside his cardboard box like an adorable special ops cat however cyborg Ryden wasn't always as subtle as snake in his approach as pointed out by lots of you including all of a butcher who asked where's ride ins from MGR revengeance you know the one that involves back flipping through the air impaling them with your sword by jumping on it then knocking the target up into the air and dicing them into countless pieces oh you mean this one to be fair this installment of the Metal Gear series put ridin in the hands of PlatinumGames a studio that's more about hack and slash then stealth and stab as evidenced by their other titles such as Bayonetta or near automata but this is a Metal Gear game so ridin is probably keen to fit in which is why he's made an effort to be stealthy bless him only problem is ride and stealth looks like this little tip if you're ever holding a spine in your hands then whatever just happened probably wasn't very stealthy unless you're like a ghost who uses a spine to whip people even then let's not be too harsh on rider no I mean he's remembered that the box features in there somewhere he just forgot not to put us on brer Oh on it still school 101 ridin don't put us on Brer Oh on it it's like the least stealthy hat bear eh or better tattered ball when you think of Marvel hero Deadpool the first word to come to mind isn't subtle yeah so many of you were surprised when we left him out of the last list such as comma to rap to slicer 23 who says me before the video starts this better have Deadpool stealth kills me after how are they not included yes in 2013's Deadpool video game the regenerating degenerate has the option of playing stealthily even equipping him with an adorably ridiculous stealth walk creep mode engaged but should you try and take out an enemy it's a roll of the dice as to what ridiculous takedown he uses it could be anything from a stealthy if an elaborate kill with his blades well now you'll never get a headache again - smashing someone to bits with his hammers who gets killed with a hammer I mean seriously to shotgunning the legs off his target that's how we do it in the big league - a move where he shoots a target so much that he juggles them with bullets and pretty much disintegrates them blimey it's up to Deadpool as to what move he does and any of the stealth moves involving guns might actually give you away and we can't believe his enemies don't hear his fourth wall breaking pre-move quips a camera I want ended - oh that's not gonna kill ya maybe you're not cut out for guard work if you can't hear someone loudly whispering about what they're about to do to you yeah all right one I can't hear you and - my shoes don't even have laces ya got the velcro's [Applause] attacking anything metal will make a big noise as Luke's recent freakout at the national spoon Museum proved what were you expecting but this is not something that is always taken into account in robot smashing sim horizon zero dawn as pointed out by commenter Jack fire horizon zero dawn stealth kills though indeed stealth kills though see whilst taking down a human foe can be fairly quiet it's a little harder with enemies made of metal especially ones that can alert all their nearby pals if they're attacked fortunately for us they ignore it if one of them is stunned or taken out for some mysterious reason we have the same protocol here the Jane Protocol fortunately for fiery head hero alloy she's well camouflaged in the red tip tallgrass and you can always kill enemies from afar in one hit with a well-placed arrow but for those of us who like to get up close you can also unlock the ability to sneak up to different machines and take them out with what the game calls and I'm moving as I say this silent strike [Laughter] [Music] yes the silent strike is a bit of a misnomer as smacking a Lloyd spear against robots is really really noisy but get a good hit on them with their mates all looking the other way and you're either stun or take them out immediately leaving all their nearby buddies unawares even though it's noisier than Optimus Prime falling down a stairwell however as with trying to catch sweets in your mouth there's always a chance you'll miss time it and embarrass yourself [Music] animals are perfectly capable of being stealthy like alexander the hamster I got when I was 5 who's been hiding for more than two decades now stealthy little rascal but not every one of God's creatures is quite so capable of flying under the radar leading to a stealthy way to dispatch enemies in Far Cry 4 that's anything but low-key as comment a ratholing noted far cry 4 baked throw a pebble and everyone's what was that toss a couple pounds of meat at someone's feet no one notices until the bear shows up yes indeed in Far Cry 4 one way to take out your foes is to lob fistfuls of raw meat into their vicinity then wait patiently in the undergrowth until the wild beast gets the scent and shows up looking for a meal at which point this happens the effectiveness of this unseen kill is as Rathlin points out made all the more ridiculous by the fact that so much as dropping a stone is enough to have every farcry enemy running towards the source of the noise but a raw steak or two flying overhead is apparently less of note what you don't have steak storms where you live one coming in now fire up the barbecue so long as no enemies think to investigate the source of the raw meat raining from the sky they'll never clock that the dismemberment of their gang by wild beasts was anything other than a freaky coincidence leaving you entirely undetected in a stealth performance that would make alexander the hamster very proud why have you seen him you see with my goldfish it's extremely difficult to land a precise jump from a height as we found out during our very brief parkour phase but the assassins of the Brotherhood somehow managed to do this and stealthily much to the confusion of many commenters including Eve Claire who said pretty much any Assassin's Creed game should be on this list launching yourself off a building with complete faith and trusting gravity to land perfectly honor guards unfortunate shoulders to deliver death from above is going to make a loud sound find a target foolish enough to wander near any kind of high point upon which an assassin could lurk and you can take them out perfectly from a great height and their co-workers amazingly hear nothing as they crumpled to the floor under the weight of a heavily armed and belted assassin fun fact no one in history has ever been able to explain why assassins need that many belts out of all the ways to assassinate your foes this is the one that should definitely alert everyone in the nearby area but somehow your assassin always gets a perfect hit preventing the target from crying out for help and miraculously getting enough cushioning from the target to prevent them from breaking both their legs and screaming the house down we're astounded that no one hears it and that they're not both injured in the process and we speak from experience anyway it looks like it's nearly visiting hour so I'm gonna go see Mike and Jane there see if their knees are all better in tryouts keyboarding instead copy I'm on my way you'd think a Taser would be the theory at least a stealthy way of taking someone down and so a fine choice for super stealthy secret agent Gabriel Logan Seraph Syphon Filter for the PlayStation whose tasked by the US government with eliminating international terrorists a serious job then but not one that gave always handles with discretion as commenter Ameri 2d knows the original Syphon Filter posited that you can zap a guard with a half million volt taser until he actually bursts into flames and no one will be alerted by the screaming and the burning unless they personally see the guy who did it yes the game's legendary air taser which players would regularly deploy in stealth missions used co2 cartridges to fire probes deep into a victim's flesh which sounds like typical taser behavior what's less usual is that it then runs 500,000 volts into that flesh until their flesh catches fire and yet despite the fact that dying this way involves a lot of heat screaming and presumably the smell of roasting meat killing your enemies with the air taser raises Gabe's profile little more than if he'd cleared his throat I mean come on if I suddenly turn into a heap of smoldering ash I'd like to think people would notice hey did you see where Andy went hey sweet he's got the velcro's [Laughter] [Music] we already discussed that open-world hacking game watchdogs - lets you deploy so-called stealthy tactics like this one but there's something lurking in watchdogs - that's even less discreet than that and considerably more horrifying as commenter the soleus game the next door is only too aware you forgot the shuffle outfit with Marcus for those blissfully unaware the shuffle of myth is an in-game urban legend about an evil creature that lives between worlds that lets itself be known via weird graffiti that you might stumble across around town whoa this is shuffler territory ray you ever hear of any symbols associated with the shuffle of legend yeah weird patterns alien geometry grits and webs that don't make any sense yeah we definitely have someone out here what's a shuffler urban legend creepy one score goes if you try to make sense of it you lose hey if I could figure out the ending of lost without losing my mind I think I'll be fine John Locke is in the church at the end cuz the flash sideways means ah finding shuffle a graffiti gives you a window into the madness of those who've encountered whatever the hell it is as well as symbolic clues that when decoded give you a time at which the mystery might deepen am i hearing things follow the trail of breadcrumbs and you'll wake up with a head full of nightmares and a new shuffler outfit no it wasn't real it couldn't be wearing the shuffle of sanity wrecking clothes gives you access to a stealth takedown that takes the non-euclidean biscuit one in which Marcus lifts his enemies aloft then loudly shatters all their bones with eldritch magic in a takedown as nightmare-inducing as it is attention-grabbing you would think and yet it's possible to deploy this hellish move without tipping off nearby enemies but hey maybe having all your bones broken by an unknowable ancient evil isn't that noisy a procedure to find out we filled this uninflated balloon with chicken bones let's see how that sounds and now if you'll excuse me I'm going to be sick so there were the times in games that you did a takedown and then you couldn't believe that everyone didn't immediately know exactly where you are and somehow you could always just you know sneak off and then if you like selfie things
