hello everybody desert Maverick here and I have a Baldur's Gate 3 video for you today and it is all about how to steal from vendors very effectively even when they are surrounded by a bunch of prying eyes now if you hold down shift on your keyboard I don't know what the button is on the controller since I don't play them however if you hold down shift you will see all of everybody's sight ranges that's the red that you see on the floor there and you'll see that I have quartermaster tally here and she's rather got people that continuously look at her like this gentleman right here pissed will Fed he'll look and talk to Harper as he is here every once in a while but then he'll turn back see and it'll make it'll make that she's available to be stolen from occasionally here but then he turns back as soon as he's done talking to him which makes it very inopportunity however we can actually uh if we can get over here where the sight lines are usually not as bad as long as there's nobody walking up here which there are several times where that happens then you can actually successfully steal a lot more easily from quartermaster tally so you can do this with any NPC pretty much so you have a personal spell called command and one of those commands that you may give is approach and when cast on an NPC it doesn't make uh them attack you so you can actually goad an NPC away from an area where they're being seen all the time and make them come over to you [Music] and they will sit at this spot for a long long time and then what you can do is you can run yourself away [Music] and then all right you can take whoever your stealing person is and bring them over by the NPC now we don't want her looking towards the back area because that's generally where most people aren't going to talk real quick make her look away alright and so in this section well typically outside of like again these guys walking here will typically have nobody here and then when you're going to steal when it's nice and open to steel all right now we're going to enter turn base mode all right and the best way that I found to steal is to have somebody who is a thief Rogue and so asterian here as you will see he is a level three Rogue and he is in the thief uh category so that gives him two bonus actions and of course hunting hide becomes a bonus action and this is very important because you need Hyde to be a bonus action when you enter time-based mode because hide otherwise is an action and pickpocketing is an action so you would typically have to hide and wait a minute and then turn into turn base mode whereas with this you can go into turn based mode the moment you see that you have an available way to hide and then you can hide and then you can go into the NPC's inventory and and here of course you can see what you can try to steal uh gold is always going to be pretty high and the target number will uh always be the bullet value of the item so the higher the value of an item see that's 800 or 800 gold you see we have a target of 17. this is 640 so that's 510 so you see the target number drops and it will be a D20 roll with plus four from dexterity and plus six from sleight of hand um and then you know you can just choose what you want to take and then click steal normally right here I would just quick save and then try to steal we will steal something very easy to steal tour stock we're going to was save and we're going to steal something very light real quick just to show you how you can uh steal and then also get away with it so what you do is you select an item and then you see this green ring tells you how much how you're basically your percentage chance of stealing we have a 75 chance to steal this all right so now we have stolen it all right once you've stolen what you want to steal you can also steal multiple items of course you're risking being caught what you're going to do then is is you're going to get out of your hide so you can press C take it out of hide so you should still have a bonus action they still don't notice anything they will eventually notice that something has been taken and then they'll start looking around for people and they will always look for your teammates and your your you yourself so you walk away you stay in and uh turn base mode and then you do the action Dash right and then you walk away some more all right and then here you turn off turn base mode then you just simply walk away enough to where the NPC won't see your character and you'll see I'll show you over here they have seen oh I've been pickpocketed and they're going to start investigating and they generally won't leave around this area right here as long as they don't get line of sight of you they won't suspect you and it takes about two or three times that they talk and walk around and then they will go right back to the spot where they were at and then you may rinse and repeat yeah come back over here where that came from hold your shift make sure there's nobody there turn beast mode or steel all right you got your two bonus actions cunning action hide a bloody Army and then you may steal again and that's how you can steal uh of course always save if you want you can kind of scum it that way if you want um but that's the way that you can easily pickpocket without getting yourself caught Tiding Etc and if you have an NPC that's in a really tough spot for you to steal from you can use the command approach spell and get them to move to a spot or a location where they aren't seen as much thanks for watching the video and I hope this helps you out in your thiebing adventures have a great day
