Powering Up Our Pals! Palworld Nuzlocke Challenge Run

the sun is rising on the second day in my pal World Nuzlocke a challenge run where if my pals are incapacitated they're gone forever this is my Lambo Ace he must be an early bird or something cuz he's crafted some items already today and speaking of birds if you see a giant chicken running around that would be agent clucky or lucky chapi if you see a giant chicken egg that's just my breakfast don't tell agent clucky we've made tons of progress building our base already but there's still a lot of work to do we at least have basic stone tools so we can gather wood by chopping trees which is important because I would feel much more comfortable out here in the wilderness if I had some kind of ranged weapon a basic bow requires wood Stone and plant fiber I have to gather the resources myself but Ace can help with the crafting process okay so let's see if this thing works oh yeah I don't even need help from my Palace to get this cat of a low enough to capture here goes nothing and okay I don't usually look at the lore entries for the pals but the cat of a lore kind of caught my eye it says they're very cowardly which is funny because the one we caught has a coward passive skill that reduces its attack stat slightly I want to name this guy courage Courage the Cowardly Kataba since courage is the first Kataba we've captured according to my modified nuzlock rule set we can use him in battle if we want we can capture additional catabas to use as helpers at the base but this guy is our one and only combat cat capturing duplicates of the same species also helps you level up you get bonus XP for the first 10 Pals you capture from each species so even if you don't need a specific species to help out at the base you can still benefit a lot from catching them we're still only level five so let's go find another cat to capture oh here's one kaba's main form of attack is to charge forward and scratch in front of them oh oh he's still going agent clucky please help oh man that was such a close call according to the rule set for this challenge run if my character gets ko'ed I drop all of the pals in my party and they're all gone forever I can't believe we almost lost everyone let's just go home wait hold on a second are all cat us cowards we just caught another one with a coward passive skill that's actually really neat we'll go ahead and assign this one to work at the base anyway courage is already being a great little helper he's helped ace and I build a Fe station for everyone he's also a really good mining buddy he can help us gather palum the crystal that's used in making pal speres for capturing new friends he also helps us carry the heavy stuff so we don't have to go home to drop off our loot as often plus he shares my taste for meat sorry what' you say ace where does meat come from I'll tell you when you're older after today's close call there are two things I really want to craft a shield and some cloth armor The Shield will allow us to take at least one extra hit before it breaks and we start taking HP damage as for the cloth armor it should slightly reduce incoming damage overall to make the cloth we do need wool there's tons of lamb balls in this area all right this thing doesn't stand a chance against Ace huh not what I was expecting but I'm kind of here for it full contact death bowling is going to be the next big thing dang is bedtime already but now that the sun's risen again I think I'm going to take Ace out to train even with a shield and some armor I'm still a little worried about our safety see I told you full contact death bowling where you are both the ball and the pins at the same time come on Ace you got this uh you don't got this that's all right we're still getting XP and there's another way to get stronger that we haven't tried yet a statue of power we're going to need plenty of paldum for it so I'm going to grab some on the way home now that I think about it there's a lot of other stuff we haven't built too we need another bed for the p who are staying behind at home and while we're at it I think we should probably build a berry Plantation I don't think we're going to have issues feeding Pals for a while but it never hurts to be prepared anyway now we'll use all that palum from earlier to build the Statue of power we can use this statue to improve our chances of capturing wild Pals doing so requires a collectible called a leaf monk Effigy that you can find scattered throughout the world they glow bright green so they're pretty easy to spot and I just so happen to have one in my pocket already we can also enhance our Pals to improve their stats agent clucky has been doing a great job so far as my bodyguard so I'm going to give her some bonus HP wait wait wait wait a raid oh it looks like there's some hostile humans on the way once they get here they'll try to destroy our base and everything in it including our Pals let's see if agent clu's power upgrade oh dang girl look at her go well these guys dropped some small pal Souls so let's finish using the statue of power the souls are used in the pal enhancing process they're pretty rare so we only want to use them when we need to but I'd say keeping these three safe is not an option until now we've kind of really only explored a small area around our base the world in this game is massive and there's so many more Pals for us to find and befriend and besid that we do still need a lot more resources so let's go exploring we haven't followed this River very far Downstream yet that's the spot where we almost died earlier and that's as far as we've been this game is honestly so beautiful every once in a while I'll stop and look at my surroundings and be like whoa let's grab some of this palum courage we're going to need as much as we can get this guy is huge and scary so let's not make him mad I don't even want to be in his General vicinity to beon honest we haven't caught one of these guys before or one of those guys first let me just grab this thing it's a fast travel Point once we've activated it we can teleport home from here or teleport here from home activating it also gives us an additional technology point which we can use to unlock new crafting recipes or buildings yeah I still don't want to get anywhere near that guy and these fire type pals are using the buddy system but this gum Moss is alone I'm just going to aggro him and see if courage can prove me wrong about all out of us being cowards oh dang he in there see this is why I love the bow finding wild Pals starts to get really scary once they have range attacks like that mud ball so being able to stay at a distance is super valuable this little dude has the brave passive skill which gives him bonus attack power let's call him Braveheart those pangit are still hiding over by the big guy but this one's alone now go do your thing courage these guys also have a ranged attack a big Fireball so they can be pretty scary I want to call this one Firefox ooh speaking of fireballs this one's not happy that I captured its [Music] friend thanks for the save agent clucky but yeah I think it's time to head home everyone's been working hard while we've been away to upgrade the base to the next level we need to build a pal gear workbench but we're out of materials so I'm going to head out ooh I spy a little bird come on Ace this pal is dark type meaning it deals additional damage to normal types like Ace but I know he'll be okay all right cool we caught hes H hres who crates guy with a dumb hat we'll officially give him a nickname once we get back to the base since our party is currently full he got transported directly to the PO box at home when we caught him anyway we need to gather some stone for the pal gear workbench we'll also need wool to craft into cloth funnily enough we can get wool both by killing wild L balls and by capturing them I'm not 100% sure how that works I mean it makes sense in the case of wool like maybe we Shear them a little bit or maybe they give us some of their wool as a symbol of their friendship but like you can get meat in this way too so like are you just like carving off the piece of their own flesh I'm going to try not to think about it too hard but we're pretty much ready to build the palar workbench now it's nice being home again everyone's just chilling out hey guys help me build there you go be careful with that wood I don't want you to go getting a splinter hold that hammer carefully okay Ace give your brothers plenty of room too we're almost done back then I couldn't imagine how much I'd miss those days
