[Music] hello there it's Lenny McGill with a cloth store performance and custom shop here in San Diego California today also in Nashville back and forth because we're opening a Nashville store which well should be open in June July of 2020 so we're gonna have a big grand opening I hope you visit and join us for that celebration today I want to introduce to you some new sights now we have a lot of sights on our website sites on our website we do we have a lot of handgun sites on our website and you know last thing I thought to myself well you know do I need another one I mean gosh darn I mean how many sites can one guy carry I mean literally it might be 30 40 different styles of sites but you know high-vis came to me and said hey we have something I think you're gonna be interested in because no one else has this color scheme and I thought well you know I haven't had requests for that so let me go ahead and take a look at it real quick so this is it it's interesting they call it a tritium light pipe technology light pipe being a fiber optic now true glow of course we sell ton of true glow sites and they have the fiber optic the TFO and the tf-x and the tf-x Pro we sell ton of those great price point great technology it's got the fiber optic during the day so it magnifies and gathers available light so they're brighter in the day than any other weapon any other website any other handgun site at nighttime they've got tritium and they glow at night but also one other phenomenal phenomenon that is actually interesting to me is that if there is any available like street light sign light moon light it the fiber-optic will grab that light and magnify that along with the tritium so they're actually brighter than other tritium to standard tritium sights and I've noticed that at the range in fact I've been you know some night shooting things and guys who look down like from across what hey what kind of sites do you have man I can see them from over here and they're just glowing like crazy because they are gathering some kind of light that is available usually you don't shoot in pitch darkness you know some kind of light available so I've always been a big fan of the tritium fiber-optic technology hi this came to me and said hey we want you to carry this one they came to the SHOT Show this year 2020 in Las Vegas and said you know this is one that people don't have and in fact people have asked me for this particular color combination and true blue doesn't make it so I thought well okay here it is it's a a red rear green front all right now they both have fiber optic or light pipe they call it and tritium both the front and rear so they're gonna glow but the red is something people really asked for they also make one that is green rear red front and I know a lot of people have asked of that over the years and we just didn't have it so I thought well you know what let's go and pick these up because you know one it's good you know hybrids good company we've sold a lot of this stuff already to this color scheme is very important plus the technology is already proven you know I know that the fiber optic and the tritium together is a better option than just tritium alone or just fiber optic alone just point-blank it's just a better option so I did a video earlier on the Glock 44 I remarked how they have a an adjustable rear sight and a standard front sight I remarked also that I'm going to change them out I want to put in a new sights because I don't like the plastic sights even though it's adjustable it's like you know why I mean it's a 22 handgun what you know I'm not shooting 50 yards of that thing 20 yards in and it's you know pretty darn you know accurate you know you can adjust those sights just by yourself so that said I'm gonna go ahead and install these on these on this gun and so this video will be kind of a an installation for that particular site a look at the Glock 44 and then a general installation because the installation of Glock sights is the same for every Glock I mean really it is that's really cool about Glock is they you know they're really standardized a lot of stuff there there dovetails the same across the board the mechanism for the front sight is the same it's a it's a small little hexagonal screw which you need a special tool for otherwise you really can't get out especially in here you'll see when we take this apart it's very very narrow so you really need a sight pusher or cite tool nice not as I push it but a front sight tool and that brings me to the other item in I'm going to show you now to this is a neat little device and I also got handed to at the shot so it's really cool to be me you know because people come up say here take this and I go what is it because you'll see you I'm gonna love it and I go okay what's it he says it's everything for a Glock disassembly okay everything he said yes everything so I said well okay what is he said well you have have a front sight tool you have a punch and just in case you have a flathead screwdriver and a Phillips head screwdriver I said well that's pretty cool yeah maybe you say okay I'm into that how does it work well you know he just dropped it off and kind of went away and I thought well okay let me let me figure it out I'll figure it out so it's pretty simple you pull that out you drop it in and there it is now what they did with this tool this front sight tool it which everybody should do is they put a magnet in the tip and if you don't have a magnet there it's really a pain but once you get it magnetized it doesn't fall out which is very cool very convenient all right same thing if you want to go ahead use the punch you take that out you pull the punch straight out and there you have a punch and it's a nice handle to hold on to and we're gonna talk about taking this thing apart in just a second and then over here on the other side you've got your Phillips same thing a little short Phillips to work with hey you know it's so tall it's so small and so compact you almost can't not have one price points great - it's really not that expensive and a nice little flathead which is you know pretty skinny and so you can you know use that for a lot of stuff too so I'm really you know hip on this tool I think it's pretty cool and I'm gonna use it to go ahead install these sights so I've already taking the sites out there are other options available by the way there's green green green you know as you would expect green green with a what do you call a white circle around it there's you know go to our website you'll see some other options for these particular sites from hybrids now the high vis is a little less expensive than some of the other sites they're trying to make a name for themselves in the marketplace and so they came out with a less expensive option these are the sites right here that we're going to talk about and of course those guys they're now the rear sight has a an Allen screw a set screw for it and so you we're gonna tighten that down once we put it into the dovetail so if you see the dovetail there it is right there there's the screw right there once you get it set you tighten it down with that and it's always recommended they put a little lock tight on all these screws we'll talk about that when we get there front sight has your standard Glock as a hexagonal screw and it's flat literally impossible to operate or get to without a front sight tool and everybody who has attempted it knows what I'm talking about you can't get in there with your fingers you can't get in there with needlenose pliers it's almost impossible so there's a whole business of people making in front sight tools now there are some really cheap front sight tools they just have this piece alone basically they sell something like this for like $80 that's pretty cool doesn't have a magnet doesn't do anything else you know so I kind of like this one because it has the magnet and it has the punch so let's talk about how we're gonna use the punch is basically you know for oops imagine that if though exactly in my shoe doesn't happen often and certainly didn't try but there it is so this is a 3/32 punch and what's cool about it is it fits exactly for all Glocks in the same spot you can use it let me get my Armorer's tape here put it right here in the trigger housing pin which is the smallest pin of the bunch and it fits exactly where you want to go just like that that goes your pin it's long enough to go all the way through which is nice some pin or some or not I'm not gonna actually take the lower apart because it doesn't need to be taken apart for this procedure but I did a complete disassembly just a moment ago on the Glock 44 video so if you're interested in this gun watch that video and then watch me go shoot it out of the farm in Tennessee okay so here it is so we're gonna install sights on this gun I've got the sights right here and I've got the Glock 44 here so the objective is is to take the slide off remove these and remove that now I don't need to take the slide off there these I can push this out with a sight pusher or I can tap it out with a camera all right so it's either way it's you know it comes out either way so let's see if I can just get it rigged with a hammer right now while I have it right here so it's coming so there's half way yeah now you're gonna notice that I'm using a nylon let me push it right here so there is a nylon hammer which is good because I can hammer I can pound on this thing all day long without interfering with the color or scratch or anything like that it's basically out right now I can whoop well left on the ground I should have done it right over top of here's what I should have done but I was trying to show you over here okay that said it's it's down there it's not gonna go anywhere I've got a concrete floor so I can see it and okay so rear sight is out just like that nothing magic a lot of people think okay I got to use this a pusher you can but one o'clock you don't need to in fact you know often times we're gonna put sights on we're just gonna hammer them back in you know and that's what I'm gonna do with these guys do now what we have to do is be very careful when we hammer fiber optic and tritium because of their glass so I'll show you how the technique is on that you can do it with a sight pusher and I recommend you do a sight pusher if in fact you're timid you don't want to mess your sights up and I'll show you the technique here so now we're gonna go and take the the upper over the frame of course this gun is unloaded already checked a couple times before I started and now here it is again we go ahead and pull back the slide about a quarter of an inch and I'm gonna access the slide lock on both sides pull down hold down let the slack go forward and off it comes ouch pinch myself but that happens okay so the lower again I could use my punch and take out the pin here and take this thing apart I already did that but now I'm gonna go ahead and show you how to do sights so we're gonna take the guide rod out put it off the side take the barrel out and put it off the side and I'm going to show you what I'm talking about how you cannot access that front sight let's see can I get some light in there give me some light okay let's try this I will get my strong out here and see if I can put some light there you go see that little screw right there you can't get in there with any other tool except a front sight tool I mean it's almost like crazy impossible and it's flat and it's flush to the top of the slide or the bottom of the slide there and so you know there's no way to get it out unless you have the proper tool so that's why I'm it's only a tool I mean you need one if you don't have it it's great thing to have because everyone's well you don't want to do this we're gonna take out a punch I'll go ahead I'm just gonna bury the punch back into the piece here where it's supposed to go it just sits there like that and then I'll go ahead and take my front sight tool and remember it's got a magnet on it which is kind of neat and this guy what we're gonna do is just gonna go straight down on top of me not gonna be able to see this and we're just gonna get right on top of it and just turn it off and let's see if I can see with you there we go got it okay there's the screw now what's nice again is the fact that this has a magnet on it so look at that screw tiny yeah you know they're not around now we do sell front sights with screws and notice how flat that hit is okay so put that off the side I'm gonna go and pull the sight out now one thing you're gonna notice about this front sight one I can use it again so we don't want to you know destroy it or lose it or drop it on the floor like into the rear sight but - it has an oval-shaped so it really orientates itself into the oval hole which helps align it however that said I have seen them crooked and they will get a little crooked because that holes not perfect so you know got to be careful that when you are applying lock tight and tightening this thing up that you actually keep it straight and you hold it straight while you're screwing it in what I'm gonna do right now so I don't get crazy and lose the screws I want to just go screw it into the bottom of this site give it a couple turns and then I won't lose it and so now I can put that in my bag and I can use it again if I ever need to okay now why would you need to use it again well if you install this incorrectly and don't use Loctite it will fly away and you'll be without a front sight I'm serious that's what happens it happens a lot it's a frenemy it's happening in most people I know that mirror you'll be shooting a whole bunch and all of a sudden there goes the front sight and you go what happens oh yeah maybe I didn't put enough locked a door or maybe then put any lock tight at all all right there's the front sight the fiber-optic or should I say light pipe it's gonna go in and drop in just like that okay I like that I think it's cool I like this what I really like is that that circle with the red outline on it and the green and that does glow and I'm gonna leave that screw right in there okay for now we're gonna stall this first so I'm gonna go ahead and reach over here and get my 262 Loctite shake it up now you always have to be careful that you put the top back on this thing because we don't put the top back on it it will lose its effectiveness it's some of the stuff boils out I'm just gonna go ahead and drop the Loctite right on to the screw itself I'm not gonna put in the hole I'm gonna put in the screw it's kind of gooey and that's good and I'm gonna put the top back on like I recommended but it out of the way and now here get my sight now I'm gonna hold the sight down with my finger and then I'm gonna go to locate that hole now this thing is tiny that hole is small and I think I got it I'm gonna start it again it's like 12 threads so I'm doing a half turn here I'm gonna do it like 24 times so if you think you're getting enough it's probably not unless you're counting I'm not counting I forgot to get so I'm just turning it looks like it's going in looks like I've got a good connection but it's not it's gonna bottom itself out so it will stop at some point one it makes a good well I should be getting close like I said it wasn't not counting hopefully I'm in there no I did not get it even started don't you hate that well I want to tell you right now that screw is tiny and it may not have you sticking up for enough to actually get into that hole so I'm gonna look at that screw and then I look at the one from Glock factory and I may have to use the screw that came from the Glock Factory now that may be a problem because it may be too long for that particular site so look at the difference here what is going on here that's clock factory that's the one that came with the site now it's the first time I saw these so I you know I'm gonna question myself as to why that particular front sight screw is so darn short I'm gonna have to assume that there's not enough space in here to even take it so if I take the factory one I come up here and I screw it in I don't think it's gonna go all the way it's not gonna see itself all the way that's gonna lock it in place let's see if I can start just like this now they may not have thought of that no that's not even gonna work there we go yeah it's gonna stick out way too far so I now will have to go back to the drawing board and say well how am I gonna get that screw to bite there with this particular tool so is the tool too deep or the screw too shallow and I think it's the screws too shallow so with that in mind now what I've got to do is put a little spacer in here to push that screw out a little farther and I want to take a piece of paper and I'm gonna try to space this thing out here enough but not too much so as to be able to push that screw threads out enough to bite into that part Euler front sight so I'm trying to be creative here on the fly I'm sure I could come with some better ways but right now I'm just gonna use a piece of paper so you know what I've got to do it I've got to have enough threads sticking out there we go now that looks like it may work and I think the magnet is gonna work yes okay back to the drawing board more lock tape cuz that lock take kind of ran away and so just a little dab will do you so I need this is kind of a glue you know and most of you're familiar with locked I can get that at Home Depot the 262 is the red it's actually a little better than 252 which is the blue even one will work alright that said the 262 is better okay so now I've got it set up there you go okay now I'm getting to the point where it's biting and it's getting tight so now I want to look at it and then really just wanna eyeball make sure before I tighten it down too much make sure that it's straight it looks like it's a little crooked to me I mean mm-hmm so I want to loosen it up just a little bit and then I'm gonna push that side over just a little see how it moves just a little bit even though it's got keyed it's somewhat keyed it still does move push it over and there it looks more straight now you could be scientific here and measure and just the mere fact of me twisting this screw this way is gonna want to force it over there but I'm gonna hold down on it and hand tighten it now you know you don't want to be the gorilla grip here because you can strip that screw right out I mean you know y'all see how tiny it is right I mean any of you guys out there with a tool can just pop their head right off so it's finger tight not bicep tight okay finger tight it's finger tight right now I'm good so there it is there is a front sight pretty simple right looks good look straight I've straighten it out went back to it got a straight rear sight now this guy goes in and it's not gonna go in all the way yet right now if I look at the bottom you'll see that the screw the Allen screw here is not protruding so it is a press fit I'm going to come from the right side to the left and here's what we have to talk about the fact is that the tritium is captured in a glass tube and the fiber optics are also glass the light pipe so everybody's gonna recommend using eyesight pusher and I would say use a sight pusher another way to do it is like I'm gonna demonstrate now again last thing I want you to do is put it on a table and pound on it too much vibration okay what we're gonna do here is I want to keep a free hand hammer not a big huge hammer just something small and as I hit it I'm gonna let it fly away so I'm gonna let the inertia as I hit it fly way so I don't want to put it on table and have a lot of vibration now keeping in mind this is polymer so that's gonna eat up a lot of this anyways but you know want to hit it and hit it and hit it and hit it and just gently you know we can just I'm hitting it and I'm kind of letting my hand just kind of fly away with it and and it's not really lime not taking a big long stroke at it you know I'm basically right here just looking at it and and there we go almost and one more time or two more times and so the goal is to hit the hit the site not to slide so it got to be just on the edge of it there you go all right now how's it look looks pretty darn good now this is where you can actually measure this side to that side I think I've got a little bit more room on the which would be the right-hand side however when I look at this cut out here on the slide it looks pretty darn even there's I think there's a little bit more on this side just a little bit and even I've look at that you can see right here this guy has a little bit more hanging over then this guy so I want to push it back just a little bit somewhat turn it over and I'm gonna do the same thing tap it and cap it and just like the movie just tap it in okay one more time that was happy gilmore for you guys who know that movie okay one more I'm really close okay I think I got it okay now let's look at it again so you could come in here with a set of calipers and measure you know each side I'm gonna eyeball look at it say yeah it looks pretty darn close I'm looking at these pieces right here I'm looking at that and that now one of the things you know light plays a lot of tricks on your eyes so it looked to me oh god that's really big over there but these guys look like they're centered up so that's because there's more light on this side than on this side all right now if I look down the front here down the site I'm gonna just look at it I'm gonna say you know what I think you'd think it is over there a little bit more need to come back just just a tad and I think that was almost it I think I need another baby tab looking good looking good okay so it's basically I think pretty much centered right now yeah I'm gonna come back just a little bit more I mean okay here we go there we go there we go now we're talking we look down the front here yeah so I'm look at the rear and I'm saying to myself this it looked like it's centered between the rear and if I Center it up for you guys there's the front sight let me get it straight that looks pretty good and I like the red rear I really do it's kind of cool red rear kind of a green front with a red circle around it so that is a look at these new high vis fiber optic or should I say tritium like pipe technology same thing now last step we want to go ahead and put some Loctite on that set screw right there in the middle okay remember it's not really engaged yet I want to go ahead and just yank it out and put a little bit of luck date on it let's see this is it it's perfect and again oops careful cuz it'll fall over all over for you well hold it like so shake up my lack date oops my tool out of the way so I had to improvise to make that tool work with just a little piece of paper to push it up a little bit so it would grab hold of that screw you may not find that with other manufacturers okay that's one thing to keep in mind that may just be this particular manufacturer in there particularly deal but again you now know how to improvise oops just a lot that's ugly well there we go that's what that mats for that's way too much I'm gonna just take some of it off with my and now I am going to turn this upside down or sideways so I can get it started and again I'm going to do this finger tight don't have a lot of leverage with this particular tool because it's just my fingers really I put a big I think that's good good there you go now he was gonna see what happens sometimes is locked a quill will surface up top you can wipe that down and I probably will later you know I can go it's kind of hard right now because I'm having to do it with but let's see maybe this will work remember if you're using blue loctite be careful with solvents because the solvents will defeat the Loctite the red is supposed to be better around oils and such the 263 is even better around oil so if you're one of those guys who likes to spray your gun down with CLP and that's your cleaning technique or you want to dunk it into a tank you're gonna want to use the 263 because all that spray all that stuff is gonna defeat your locks a it's gonna get into those nooks and crannies and it's gonna eventually defeat it depending if you do it but a lot of times now if you're meticulous and you do it but with a rag and you are you know not dunking it or soaking it in that kind of stuff then you should be fine with using you know that in the barrel and everything else and then up in top and getting this you know just as long I stay away from that screw head and even though the backside is where they were I'm talking about with this front sight because that front sight will fly there's a lot of motion there okay so there's the installation there's the new tool and I like this thing I like a lot even though I had to improvise a little bit I'm gonna put one of these in my bag these sights there on my 44 obviously nose out at the farm here next week so join me for that video I'll talk about a little bit more I'm gonna go ahead and put this thing back together for us and then we are be done here but yes it's been a fun video and it's always fun always fun to be here in San Diego to do the videos but I will be doing videos in Nashville at some point too but you know this is the most fun thing I do honestly people come to me and say hey let me videos I said I love doing them and I do I love talking to people like this 101 right here and I also love when they come up and say hey thanks for the videos and and you know I mean everyone's well I say hey you suck and okay I got it so but you know bottom line is overall it's a pretty positive experience for us for me personally for the customer base I just wanna say thank you for watching thanks for being part of our community certainly on the website you're gonna see all this good stuff and a whole lot more money McGill this of course is the Glock store thanks for watching [Music]
