I Used VR to Terrorize Gods and NPCS - Oculus Rift S and Asgard's Wrath

hey there it's Josh welcome back to let's game it out we're checking out the oculus rift s today this video is actually sponsored by oculus I've never used a VR headset before and I've always been curious about it so I figured we could enjoy this together if you like what you see and want to learn more about the rift s the link you need is in the description but for now let's dive in and see what kind of torment we can create step 1 unboxing my favorite thing is here on the back of the box under the system requirements PC running Windows 10 or greater or greater oculus what do you know that we don't know all right let's see what's inside you got your two oculus touch controllers over here the rift s over there and of course the most important thing the safety and warranty manual it's like a mini Bible let's see what this thing can do of course the first thing we need to do is go through the tutorial where we get to use our magical controllers that turn into anything we need them to be and of course that generally means hands which means we're gonna be doing point only anytime we can game also wants us to go through a basic hand-eye coordination tutorial who wants us to pick up the blocks the old-fashioned way but I have a much better idea did you know we can just use her face to move them around it seems a lot more productive to me and yes in case you are wondering right now I'm on my hands and knees pushing blocks around in the virtual world with my face where we can reach our hand from below grab this block and pull it down into the underworld with us and that's the power of VR only I could just flip this desk what's this insert this to exit we're supposed to use this cartridge to get out of here maybe we can make this work without actually doing the work oh yeah push the button huh here you go tutorial enjoy this pile of junk and I'm just gonna push the button from beneath and now that we're done with that little demo it's time to spend some time in our are very clean RV and the best part about VR is you can grab gadgets and tree stuff with absolutely no respect and that's when we're introduced to our only friend Rob the robots cousin well there he goes hey be careful while you're bouncing around so you want me to wavy you okay let's try this on for size okay that was good enough for waving to him okay yeah yeah I could do it again so what do you want oh it's like his head pooped a tape for me I don't normally take things from strange robots but I get the sense I can't complete this tutorial without it ok look I'm happy that you're happy actually that smiles really creeping me out I'll just put that right there thanks for putting out these little disks is a really convenient for holding my drinks and I put stuff on you too easy easy easy ok well let's just put this right there like that this lab is full of surprises by the way I learned about this beautiful tool right here if I push this button it generates stuff and I can just click it as much as I want that's the sound you want to hear that means you know you're doing something the game wants you to do ok buddy hang on you're looking a little lopsided there Oh God so on the edge there now he's got some VHS horns and he couldn't be happier about it oh no I think they're gonna oh no there they go alright we get the idea bye-bye robot we're getting the hell out here thank you it's good to be wherever I am my god this is my virtual home this was really your place would you ever want to leave ok let's see what this place has to offer obviously we've got this big beautiful fireplace as well as recreation it appears let me pick that up or use my super-strength to pick up the whole table cool can I throw this well that's not quite what I was picturing but I think I'll find a way to make this work can I pick this up yes yes cool so you can decorate the only way I know how but I'll get back to that let's do a quick tour here's the living room slash bedroom slash bathroom here's where we stare off contemplate life and maybe take an antihistamine because that's a lot of pollen in the air what the hell's this am I in a table oh I can just pick up all kinds of stuff this is the matrix we were promised ok well you think what I'm thinking I think it's time we did a little redecorating oh no oh no there's physics and I saw it welp I guess I'm gonna have to look into this more first let's bring up our virtual hand and summon the menu let's go over to inventory here oh my god we've all this fun stuff we can mess around with like this head sculpture there like a limit to how many of these I can have all signs appear to point to No ok well this looks like it's gonna be a lot of fun wait what's that over there aren't you a beauty this appears to be some kind of vanity let's check it out wait a minute I'm talking they're talking oh my god it's me little creeped out about that mouth physics oh god it knows and I'm laughing too that is pretty P as hell welp let's customize which one of these severed heads would I like to be wait no I've got a lot of severed heads I can choose from more than anything I'm gonna need some sexy eyebrows I can live with that well thank god there's so many choices for lips well you look nice and shiny yes there we go let's pick a new shirt for ourselves yeah these are all lovely and all but I think I'm gonna go for that busty look you know show off the goods without giving anything away and lastly I wear ok great a lot of normal-looking selections here although if you keep going over that's when you start to get to the good stuff like what exactly is this supposed to be this looks like a virus that's taken over my face Oh yep that's the one it's shame I have to hide my beautiful eyebrows but I think this is the look we're going with thanks magic mirror well now they've got our avatar under control let's return our attention to other stuff but first let's go ahead start with a clean slate much better nice and stark and all ours first things first I think we're gonna have to do something about this giant opening because once again I love the view God knows who's over there looking into us luckily there's a lot of things here the double as you know barricades like this modern corner desk hey let's just put you right over there let's get you some lovely friends - hey yeah this is about what I was hoping for top it off with a nice modern credenza crazy how an industrial high counter can look so much like a barricade ok you know I'm feeling a lot better about this feel like we have a little bit of a sense of privacy now anyway where was I ok well I spent a little time placing heads turns out you can place quite a few of them there's definitely a point where the game says no more which is probably for the better since that a point things start to get a little choppy right now things seem pretty feature complete now we've got our barricade we have a nice fire in the fireplace and our giant pile of severed heads I mean what more could a person ask for hey what's that out of the way heads this is important game system wait a minute what's that what is it huh guards wrath oh that's right you can play games in VR too it's not just about building your serial killer lair all right in you go one Asgard's wrath coming right up like how most games try to set the mood with like a cool story but it's really hard when you can just do finger guns whenever you want here we are in the temple of I don't actually know what this is I want to point out that we got those real hands now not mention those real biceps yeah give it a good flex yeah yeah that's what I meant that's what it looks like when you flex you'll lock your elbow and then you bend your palm inside your arm I guess I shouldn't be complaining though they are rather impressive can't wait for all the gods to see my mighty talents zaga one see if serpents up move move oh okay that works I think someone's trying to PO surprise over we doing bath time I can do that uh yeah fight what are you talking to me I'm gonna go with no buddy get down there see there you are horsing around as always well it looks like we're just gonna watch this play out although I'm really interested in this little dude over here like what's your story what are you even doing here anyway back to this struggle fest wait you got free why didn't you do that to begin with did he just piece out like Megaman how come I can't do that well I guess thanks for your crappy magical sword okay let's stop throwing boats and maybe talk about this doors I have to admit this is not what I was picturing hey guys the savior of the ocean is here is this for me I'm gonna put this down and try to pick it up again like a civilized Oh God apparently I have force powers and I could just pick up apples from afar you could go just oh hell yeah I can just hit him with apples this is what they meant when they said as guards wrath right let's go listen to the band play and by that I mean stare at this dude and be as disruptive as possible oh that's smart so I gotta play this harp can you imagine if you really went up to performers and just started doing this while they're trying to play something tells me this is the person I'm supposed to talk to that is not the voice I was expecting and this guy's gonna go on and on an exposition and blah blah blah thanks for my first quest okay here we are on the world map let's go to Midgard we saga to God of War I let me break it down for you we're a god and we watch crappy things happen to mortals and if they're unlucky enough they survive and then they have to struggle with that boat for the next three hours while this God makes this dramatic entrance god of war more like God of latts I mean maybe not but what's with the shark behind you oh god she means me doesn't she alright gonna reach out here we go or lift up whatever it's all the same to me what if there wasn't a God here who are you talking to alright here goes nothing well here we are a mere mortal hey how about you let me get used to my new body first also here's a novel idea how about you eat that shark kind of sad it's stuck there or I'll just eat this conveniently placed fish mmm only eat heads is that my deal hold to mouth hmm there we go I've gotten to the delicious center of my raw cabbage oh no not this guy again I have created this pouch for you I have sewn this sick pouch for you use it in good health on ancient barbecue now time to use my absurdly long arms to pull it up delightful I'll put it in my mouth for safekeeping well hello there crab you're my new best friend okay so here's where things get interesting at certain points you can use these alters here that let you go back into God form see here we are looking down at everything and oh my god we can pick up the sharks okay lady hold still this won't hurt a bit wait can I just drop these wherever I want wow I really can oh yeah there we go now we're talking this must truly be the work of the gods away what's happening now what my nightmares realized yes let's high-five a true currency of the gods okay sharp peasant go do whatever the tutorial puzzle needs see there you go thanks for opening the door time to do my limp sad dead walk all the way up these stairs do you move odd the brave Oh No I'm defenseless you go take care of this there you go sharknado get in there thanks for doing all the work so part of the game is dungeon crawling and by that I mean finding levers and doing repair work and then we delve deeper and solve puzzles which is usually just jaws here pulling on corpses that for some reason move spike traps out of the way but then we get our reward legendary chieftain a master bladesmith legendary chieftain let me show you the utmost respect it's okay okay you wait right there I'm just gonna take this while you sleep cam ready to fight like a pro my blade will be true I am a warrior god I love that this works okay apparently defying nature once wasn't enough we need to convert this turtle now there we go Jesus forgive me Padre for I have sinned okay turtle follower I guess let's go have some fun go block that for me please I faced equally gave this thing life so we could block fire for me more tombs to desecrate hold that for a second while I rock your world again oh hello there I guess you won't be needing this I like how you can't even do the polite thing and like close it back up just like now you did your dirty work already my favorite part of every dungeon paling the top of a chest and then opening it to reveal fabulous cash a key can you believe this crap here let me just put this in here for safekeeping okay thank you and back outside thanks shark tail for opening that door Jesus how are we gonna figure out this puzzle how did you get on the other side like that can you just open the door from over there hold on dude I almost got it okay okay okay let's see if I can just figure out how keys work yeah Oh could you go block that for me thanks you know that's not really it's not really blocking it although you seem to like it wait no what the hell was that let's see revival meat here I've got the revival meat here oh hey that did it cool good now go do your job all right we just got to figure out a way to get past this I just walked past him I just walked past him oh he doesn't like that very much but here we are come on I can just get over this here look all I got to do is just move this out of the way watch I can just do this in real life I'll just step over okay Oh yep that's yeah that's what I'm talking about huh something tells me this isn't gonna work I blame you for this oh my god so I'm in a different area I'm in the god for you right now and I think I've made a glorious discovery I think I can use this thing to pick up our hero maybe oh I can just pick her up and put her anywhere I found what I was looking for I can use this thing you just put our hero anywhere there's no way I'm supposed to be able to do this right well let's test this I hold on why while I have you in the air like this okay yeah I think I can safely say that this is not what's supposed to happen it look here let's take you can you go through walls no okay and I find a way to bring you through this gate somehow oh I'll just bring you over the wall easy see you on the other side let's put you down right here oh I bet we just go up there well let's see if we can make this work yeah okay I guess there's supposed to be a ladder here there just isn't it's so funny I'm like walking around this wondering what it's supposed to look like and I just have no idea that's funny it's almost like the loading spots haven't been triggered yet I mean this is what sequence breaking will do for you it'll create these wonderful realms full of missing assets alright there's gonna be a tough evil let's see if we can make this work and not too bad I just need to get you we just need to get you to clear all of this stuff maybe yeah there we go there we go okay let's try that so far so good mmm seems to be a locking mechanism missing here not quite sure how this is operating without the lock in the way oh yes this is looking oh no I just walk on this please yes yes I am now walking on nothing how interesting what loads in though right we've got like this monolith here you got pieces of whatever this is some chandeliers and then this spike wall I don't know how but I'm making my way over to this gate please tell me I can just walk right through this damn it God how is this the thing that's keeping me from getting over I can just do one of these again don't we fine just wedge your body through you got it come on come on just what's your body throat damn it but you know I'm content for our journey to cease here we reach the gates of oblivion and I couldn't be happier about it maybe one day I'll figure out what that does and that does and wherever this leads but for now I know where it leads back to our lovely home welcome home sweet home you know you got to hand it to Asgard's wrath though pretty ambitious game being able to do first-person combat as well as third-person God view honestly pretty fun that's why I'm gonna leave it right out here where it can get some Sun want to thank calculus again for supporting me I do have some positive things to say about the rift s as well the visor tracking has been nothing but excellent the controllers are really comfortable and pretty intuitive the unit also has built-in speakers right inside the headbands which honestly I wasn't sure how I'd feel about but it turned out to be pretty cool people told me that VR would take a little while to get used to the headset being on your face I got used to it almost immediately headsets pretty lightweight all things considered to someone who's never used VR before I wasn't expecting much and I walked away from using this genuinely
