in today's video we'll explore the three main tools for terrain manipulation in unshrouded and their benefits helping you decide which one suits your needs best first up we have the pickaxe this trusty tool is your go-to for resource Gathering whether it's rocks dirt sand or valuable or deposits the pickaxe ensures you get the most out of your efforts no other technique can match its resource yield one of the pickaxe standout features is its impressive range you can mine minerals from a considerable distance which comes in handy when for example wanting to mine above you or when you want to craft platforms to scale rock walls or even create tunnels however if your goal is to purely remove terrain for building underground bases or basements it might not be the most efficient Choice as its digging is slower and it's also less refined next we have the rake unfortunately it's the old one out in in shroud's toolkit while it's possible to angle its area of effect to shape terrain for from level two angled the result tends to be very crude and unreliable in my experience The Rake simply falls short and I rarely bother crafting it now let's talk about the real start of terrain manipulation the built Hammer the built Hammer comes equipped with an array of terrain tools that allow you to sculpt your environment to your liking by accessing the buildt menu with the tabk you will find invaluable tools at your disposal terrain blocks can be found at the bottom of of the list on the right side you can see which terrain you will be building with currently I only have dirt and stone but you can add different materials to that later in this example the stone will build Rocky terrain dirt will add grass to the top layer one standout feature is the angled terrain blocks which let you create perfect slope surpassing anything The Rake can achieve this definitely will come in handy when you wish to build sloped Pathways or access points when it comes to removing terrain the build Hammer offers multiple options while you can use the terrain blocks for this I prefer building foundations and building blocks for precise terrain removal thanks to their snap points resulting in a cleaner and sharper terrain adjustment however it is important to note that using terrain blocks for removing terrain May yield some resources like dirt stone or whatever material you're digging up though not as much as mining this could be something to consider depending on your resource needs for leveling efficiently start by placing your first Foundation at the lowest point you want your level to be then snap more foundations over the area you want to use and then after removing the foundations you'll be left with a perfect smooth terrain but the true magic of the construction Hammer shines when you want to dig or build underground by repeatedly placing foundations underneath each other you can carve out deep into the ground creating the perfect space for underground dwellings or basements crafting tunnels and Pathways is a breeze using smaller foundations and that's all there is to trrain manipulation and ined straightforward and simple just enough to make this short video and while it might be simple I am really looking forward to see the creativity players bring to this game thanks for watching and stay tuned for more in tips and tricks like this video here have a great day see you next time
