I'm so tired I'm tired of living my life at levels that are less than my best I'm tired of allowing my history to define my destiny my past to determine my future my pain to limit my purpose my hurt to hinder my hope and my decisions to lock doors I'm so sick I'm sick of settling I'm sick of seasons of stagnation I'm sick of assuming that my life has to be governed by statistics I'm sick of being imprisoned by others expectations I'm sick and tired of being sick and tired I'm sick of safe I'm so ready I'm ready for a change I'm ready for a shift I'm ready to break barriers I'm ready to tap into my challenge I'm ready to pursue my potential I'm ready to see what God can do through me I'm ready to get out of the books I'm ready to walk on water I'm cold I'm chosen I'm capable I'm competent I'm anointed I'm assigned I'm God's child I am a water Walker [Music] what's up everybody Darius Daniels here lead pastor of changed Church and we're about to take you into the auditorium of change stretch where you are about to see a message from a series we did called water walkers I think the series is self-explanatory and I hope it adds tremendous value to your life I'm gonna get you right into the sanctuary of change search but before I do speaking of change Church change search right now has a couple of locations in in New Jersey and an extension site in Los Angeles but we're launching the church in Orlando Florida that's right starting January 2019 I'll be in New Jersey speaking on Sundays during the day but I'll be a no lendo Florida speaking on Sundays at night don't miss it we want you to stay in the loop about what God is doing so there's an email address that's on the screen right now if you want more information about that would you email us we'll be glad to get right back to you give you all the information that you need I know you didn't come to this channel for that but thank you for hearing me out for a few moments enjoy this message I hope your faith is strengthened to become a Waterwalker Matthew 14 we're gonna read a few verses starting at verse 29 and for those of you don't have a Bible it'll be on the screens for you it reads like this come he said then Peter got down out of the boat walked on water and came toward Jesus but when he saw the wind he was afraid and beginning to sink he cried out lord save me immediately Jesus reached out his hand and called him someone say immediately I appreciate that because sometimes I feel like he let me dip a little while I guess I'm not the only one you're like okay Jesus any day now Jesus immediately reached out his hand and caught him and said you of little faith why did you doubt I want to talk from this subject in our time together today drowning in doubt drowning in doubt there are a ton of terms that could be used to appropriately articulate to depict and describe the essence of what God desires to do in all of our life but there's one term in my estimation that sticks out head and shoulders above the rest it is a term that's really the heart of this house it is a term that is the essence of our assignment as a church family it is a term that is the few to my passion for my purpose as a pastor and that is family above all else God wants change can you say change the word change simply means to make different and based on that definition I feel safe in saying that our God specializes that his area of expertise is change because whenever he gets involved in anything engaged with anything intervenes in anything ultimately and inevitably what you will see is change if he puts his hands on it it's going to change if he speaks his word over it it's going to change and when God changes something it is a different kind of change it is not changed that makes different for the purpose of being different it's a chain that makes different for the purpose of being better God doesn't just make it different God makes it better and I believe I've got some people in this room in Los Angeles online that can testify to this truth because if you look back over your life and objectively audit your experiences you can see God hadn't just made me different God has made me better it's his area of expertise he doesn't make the broken different he makes them whole he doesn't make the week different he makes them strong he doesn't make the bound just different he makes them free he is ladies and gentleman an expert in the area and arena of change and because that's his mission the messages that he gives us are messages that serve that mission and bring about change in our life and I believe there is an area of adjustment that God wants to see happen through this series called water walkers and that is God wants us to change how you see you what if I told you this series called water walkers isn't just about walking it's about seeing that if you that that if you really drill down to the core and the essence of what I'm trying to articulate in this series that you will see that in order to walk right I got a see right that that that ladies and gentlemen that that in order for a person to advance they need to do more than see God right you've got to see you right that I will not experience God's best for my life if I see God right and see me wrong there's a story in the Bible that supports what I'm saying it's in numbers 13 and it's this story about God's people attempting to advance to a place that God preordained for them it was a land called Canaan it was symbolic of the kind of life that God desperately desire for his people and as they attempted to acquire that land they ran into some obstacles some enemies and as they are preparing to engage those enemies a group of men started having a conversation about their capability of carrying out this assignment and they say these words but the men who had grown up with him said we can't attack those people they're stronger than we are and they spread a bad report among the Israelites about the land they had explored they said yes the land that we explored is a land that flows with milk and honey yet there are giants in that land notice what they say there are giants in that land and they say this don't miss this family they say and we were like grasshoppers in our eyes and in their eyes also we look like grasshoppers to us and to them I have a question how do you know what you look like to them if you didn't ask them but could it be that they were projecting the way that they saw themselves on the people that were seeing them don't miss this family what if I told you that the people in this text didn't lose to the Giants in the land they lost to the grasshopper in them this sometimes the problem isn't the giant out there it's the grasshopper in me is there anybody here that's honest enough to say that grasshopper will get me sometimes the grasshopper limited mentality limitation mentality victim men tality Concord mentality and could it be through this series God is coming after that grasshopper attempting to get you to see yourself as he sees you attempting to get me to see myself as he sees me attempting to get us to see you a Waterwalker you are the exception you are a deviation you are an aberration you walk on what other people drown in you are on top of what is normally on top of other people you are managing what other people are overwhelmed by you have been customized you've been built by design you've been wired and crafted for uniqueness you are a water Walker can I hear a good a man in the house and it's interesting because we've been studying a story for this entire series that offers us insight into this subject of water walk in a story regarding Jesus and 12 of his mentees apprentices disciples and one of which named Peter got to a point in his journey where he saw Jesus walking on water he requested permission from Jesus to attempt to do the very thing geez Peter is sitting in the boat recognising that his location was not his desired destination but he realized that he could not get from his location to his desired destination without abandoning his mode of transportation you see if you're going to be the exception you have to be willing to recognize that there are some places only exceptions can go you're missing that there's a place of progress that's reserved for not normal but that there is a level for the special there is that there is an arena for the unique and you cannot roll your way there to get there you have to be willing to step out of what everybody else is sitting in to get there you've got to be willing to go another way to get there you must be willing to take another route there's some places you can't get to unless you walk on water and you cannot do that unless you're willing to abandon the boat it means you cannot live being in love with what got you where you were some people can't go forward not because they're in love with their location but because they're in love with their transportation [Music] [Applause] and they're not willing to adjust and to change transportation systems because they don't realize what got you here can't always get you there it means it means that you must be willing to step out of what some people feel lucky to city I'm not gonna that that the day that the disciples probably felt privileged and blessed and fortunate just to be in Jesus's boat it wasn't that Peter was unappreciative it wasn't that Peter was not contented it was just Peter was not satisfied with settling for somebody else's destiny so yes this is great for you because this is your destiny and I am not judging your destiny I'm not studying your destiny I'm studying my own and mine requires me to walk out of what you're in love with sitting in so to walk out on the water means you must willing to be the other and you must be willing to be the only you see because there were eleven men who stayed in that boat and when Peter walked out he was willing to be the other everybody wants to be the other without being the other you can't be the other without being the other you want to be abnormal and normal at the same time you want to be special and common at the same time you want to be unique and not unique at the same time you cannot be the other without willing to without being willing to be the other [Applause] you must be willing to to be the other to be to be humbly unique only unique right unique without arrogance but unique with conviction not a not unique with condescension but unique with conviction not not unique making a judgment on you but unique feeling fully confident in me must be willing to be the other and they must be willing to be the only Peter wasn't just the other he was the only one that got out he got out and nobody walked with it he probably thought James and John would come because normally wherever he went they went to I mean they went to the Mount of Transfiguration with Jesus they went to the Garden of Gethsemane with Jesus but there's some places you go that even the closest people people to you came yeah are you able to be other and the only to be in the room and you the only one like you the only one your age the only one your gender the only one with your background the only one with your race can you be only and still know you belong I can't tell you how many rooms are men where I'm the only but you got to be the only and know you're supposed to be there you have to be the only and be unapologetic about being the only you got to be the only and not defend being the only and to live with an attitude that says if you are upset about my own leanness take it up with my supervisor my supervisor put me here you're wondering how I got here I'm wondering how I got here to you wondering what I'm doing in this room I'm wondering what I'm doing in this room too but if God put me here he must have a reason for me being here and I'm okay being the only [Applause] they confuse you like me too am i making sense yes so so Peters location was not his desired destination so he steps out of what some people are satisfied with and as he begins to walk to Jesus notice what happens family he begins to sink and as he sink we read it Jesus immediately there's life application in that that's that that one word is a loaded word that is a pregnant word it's immediately immediately immediately immediately could it be Jesus acted so swiftly not because he was trying to save Peters life but he was trying to save something else that's best if he can raise Lazarus after four days surely he didn't act swiftly just to save Peters life he maybe he was trying to save something else maybe he's trying to save his confidence this is because cuz this bonus you have now you made some missteps with it now but you're gonna step right with it later and I need to save this in you I need I need to make sure this isn't pained this willingness that you have to explore and advance and experiment I need to make sure you don't fail so miserably that it suffocates the fire and the passion that you have to pursue more so let me let me save you quick so only your legs get wet [Applause] immediately he reaches out his hand and he caught him but he says these words you of little faith somebody say next week next week I'm gonna talk about that not this week next week next week I teach in series remember and when you miss a Sunday with a leader who speaks in series is like missing a chapter out of a book so so next we're gonna talk about that because I'm gonna show you next week where Jesus says if you have faith the size of a mustard seed you can move mountains in other words you can do big things with little faith so when he says little here he's not talking about the size of Peters faith he's talking about the state of Peters faith but here's my question out of all the things that Jesus could have critiqued he only critiqued Peters faith he didn't say you wicked wind he didn't say you weak water he said you little faith which means then that faith was the factor that contributed to Peters sinking so it's like Jesus is teaching Peter how to win without feeling like you got to control things you can't [Applause] he says you can't control the wind you can live as wisely and as perfectly as you can and contrary winds at some point will blow in your life win anyway because there are times where people are saying if this wind would stop blowing I would be alright well if this water would hold me up I would be further in life Jesus did not correct the wind or the water he corrected the faith which suggests to us that the wind and the water would have been of little consequence if Peter if Peter had got the faith thing right he says your issue in the things that you think is your issue could it be he's teaching us here how not to miss diagnose your obstacle because part of the problem for many of us is that we're miss diagnosing the problem jesus said the wind is not your problem cuz I'm in it and I'm still walking somebody's walking in what you blaming for your stagnation [Applause] he says you of a little faith you have you a little faith meaning if you've got this part right this wind would have been an issue so Peter you didn't drown in water you didn't drown because of water you were about to drown because of doubt because their faith had been present the water would not have been an issue so could it be we are exerting energy trying to fix wind when God is trying to show us to fix the faith because if you fix the faith the wind won't matter if you fix the faith the water won't matter this is interesting here because Jesus prioritizes faith over everything else he could have said oh ye of little prayer because he spent hours praying before he went walking on water but he didn't critique that about Peter because he knows that faith is foundational he says in other words he says Peter you're embarrassed about something I'm trying to use the educates you are y'all ready for this and he says it's almost like he's saying you're trying to impress people i'ma have you lead yeah I'm gonna have you as one of the central figures in the establishing of my church I'm gonna use you on the day of Pentecost to articulate what people are experiencing in their upper room I'm gonna use you in a unique way I'm not trying to embarrass you I'm trying to educate you on the priority of faith I'm trying to get you to see Peter at this season of your life you got to get this part right because nothing works without this their prayers are ineffective without faith that salvation cannot be experienced without faith for the Bible says we're saved by grace through faith right so grace is undeserved favor God does us a favor and deposit salvation into the world's account but only those who have the withdrawal slip of faith are able to draw down on the salvation that is available for everyone and not only does salvation work this way I'm gonna teach you in a couple of weeks that every promise of God works this way because Hebrews teaches that we through faith in patience inherit the promises we follow after those who inherited the promises of God through faith in patience could it be some things we ask him for God says it's in the account we're asking for joy he's saying I put it in the account we're asking for peace he's saying I put it in the account we're asking for patience he said I put it in the account and I need you to draw down on with the withdrawal slip of faith something I've already deposited into the account for you I have given you all things that pertain to life and godliness it's in the account faith trying to get Peter to see the the preeminence of this because if I don't get this right I don't get anything right pastor Darris when you say faith what do you mean because there are a number of different words and concepts that come to our mind when I when I say that here it is I'm gonna give you a definition a working definition of faith here for my note-takers faith is this very simply faith is believing that and behaving like God is telling the truth faith is believing that and behaving like God is telling the truth let's work through this for a minute in the book of James chapter number 2 I want to read something to you James says this he says in the same way faith by itself if not accompanied by action is dead this is important because this keeps us from mislabeling faith James says if there is no action that faith is dead so he says in other words this is interesting this is interesting because some people call optimism faith faith makes you optimistic but faith is not optimism because it says faith produces a corresponding action but someone will say you have faith I have deeds show me your faith without deeds and I will show you my faith by my deeds listen to this you believe that there is one God good even the demons believe that and shudder are you following me here so so here it is faith is believing that and behaving like God is telling the truth it's not optimism it's not energy it's not positive thinking it's not hoping in hope it's not faith in faith it's not just believing that it somehow is gonna work out that takes a whole lot of faith because you believe in nothing and believing that nothing is going to work everything out are you hearing what I'm saying no no the Bible says faith has an author and the finisher Jesus is the author and the finisher of my faith I have faith because of God and I put that faith back in God meaning that if it wasn't for God I wouldn't believe and some of us can look at circumstances and seasons in our life and say I have no other reason to believe that this will work out besides God's saying he's going to work it out some of us have dealt with unreasonable people i'ma find a church that's enthusiastic about the word before I said some of us know what it's like to deal with unreasonable people and when you're dealing with unreasonable people you have no reason to believe that an unreasonable person is going to act reasonably unless you believe somebody else is sitting in the room when you talking to the unreasonable person and that there's somebody else who's sitting in the room although he's not seen he's working and he's pulling strings on your behalf that when you're sitting in the interview he's sitting in there with you and when you're sitting in the application process he's sitting in there with you pulling strings working things together for your good I don't believe it's going to work out I believe God's gonna work it out hallelujah a God who is interested and concerned about the affairs of my life a God who is with me when I walk in your place and he's with me when I walk out he's with me when I get in the car and though and he's with me when I get mad and leave he's the God [Applause] I'm not just hoping in hope I know in whom I believed and I am persuaded that he is able to keep me against that great day y'all I'm trying to teach but you're gonna mess around here did you hear what I just said it is believing that and behaving like God it's telling the truth it's telling the truth and so here it is let me wrap this up here it is family there there there if something is so fundamental to our advancement we cannot be elementary in our understanding of it I got to get this part right and I have to be able watch this I have to be able to not only build or develop this faith little faith underdeveloped faith faith to get you out of the boat but not faith to sustain you on the water it was developed enough to get you started but not strong enough to withstand the contrary win right because faith to get started is one thing faith to keep walking when you can see the boat is another see you see it's one thing not to go back when you came boy if I was whoa I could I'm debating in my head if I should go here [Applause] see some people are bragging about decisions they made that are not brag worthy because it's easy to make a decision we don't have options okay look I feel it over here some I feel real over here yeah it's easy to talk about what you walked away from when you're not really walking away from anything it's easy to talk about what you're turning down when you're not turning down anything but when you got options when the boat is in walking distance that's when you really know whether or not you have faith or limited options that's when you know I'm going with God because I choose to not going to God because I have to oh if this was a singles conference I would go right [Applause] yeah I'm living for gee I'm living for Jesus who in the DMS okay that's the real yeah yes nobody in the geums I know you living for Jesus of course you live it for Jesus but when of course there's one thing they have faith to get started it's another thing to have faith to keep walking so in church we church have faith have faith have faith have faith and that's well intention and that's encouraging we need to be encouraged but subliminally is sending a message that is a bit misguided and it's sending the message that you can just wheel yourself into faith the having faith is a decision like you hear a message like this and then you say from now I'm having faith and then you walk out there net wind blow sink it [Applause] right we're tweeting you know what I'm just walking by faith now I mean it this time you cannot will the Bible reveals the way faith is transmitted into the heart of a believer it is a process the decision you make is not to have faith the decision you make is to do the things that bring it you don't make a decision to have faith you make a decision to do the things that give you faith and so we're told to have it but very often the process that the Scriptures outlined to us for us to get it aren't revealed to us and if you'll give me five minutes I want to share three things the text teaches all right very practically very practically I want to share three things the text teaches write three things we have to know to have faith to watch this to build it and to have faith that is kept it's one thing to have it but remember Peter had it in the boat he lost it on the water because faith is like a float and it will float away from you if you don't hold on to it you can't live today of yesterday's faith so number one here it is this is what I need to know I need to know who God is who God is now before you check that and say what's number two before you assume I got that LA before you check that I got that what's number two pastor no no let me explain what I mean just in case you reading what I'm not writing okay let's make sure let's make sure the text says in verse 28 as Peter is sinking the story says that Peter says Lord excuse me before he sinks he says lord if it's you tell me to come to the water Lord if it's you do you see that he didn't call him Jesus he called them Lord because when some people say I know God they just mean I know his name Peter didn't call his name Peter called his title because when it comes to building faith I have to know more than a name I need to know titles because titles reveal what he's committed to be and do did you hear what I said so when you're in need of provision god is not enough when I say God I mean the word God is not enough what is that saying to you you know his name but some of us know Jireh because it's one thing to know there's a god it's another thing to know that God is a provider it's one thing to know there's a god it's another thing to know that God is a healer it's one thing to know there's a god it's another thing to know that that God is a sustainer it's one thing to know his name it's another thing to know who he is when Peter said lord if it's you he's suggesting that I know who you are and I know that you're the one who speaks and Wynn has to obey and if you tell me to come even though there is a law of gravity that exists if you tell me to come you commit yourself to suspend that law of gravity for a season and to allow me to do what could not be done have you not suspended that natural rule I'm coming because I know that you're more than a god I know who you are I know what kind of God you are I know you're the Great God I know you're the God that opens doors that no man can shut and closes doors that no man can open yes you believe in God but do you know who he is and this is why consistency in church being being taught in whatever kind of church you're being taught is so essential because you need to be introduced to different aspects of God that you had not been introduced to because you're going to need to know those things about God before you need to know them [Applause] did you hear me because God will show you what you need to know before you need to know it he will teach you what you need to know before you need to know it he will take you through school that you don't understand why you in class before before because he sees the end from the beginning he knows what's going to happen before it happens and he knows what you need to know before you get to a place that you're headed to all right I might make you sense all right I'm gonna close this so it's one thing to know he's God but do you know that he raises your banner in victory I serve God who was that everybody calls him God what version because just saying God exists doesn't help you in crisis my God is a manual he is God with us he is not just for me he's with me he's not some detached entity in the sky in the by and by he is intimately involved and engaged in the details of my life and when the enemy orchestrates things and seasons and situations that are contrary to God's intention for my life he intervenes he steps in the middle he spends between me and that which the enemy is sending taught me to stop and block me from getting to where God wants me to go I don't know who he is alright number two you ready for this I have to know what he said okay in verse 29 Jesus said come and then Peter went he didn't go until Jesus said calm so he had faith to move because he heard what God said so if faith is acting like God is telling believing that and believing that and behaving like God's telling the truth I got to know what truth is listen to this now are you all ready for this so this means your faith rests on your conviction regarding whether or not God is a truth teller it doesn't matter how much truth I know if I don't believe God is telling the truth faith has no foundation to rest on listen to this numbers chapter 29 23 verse 19 says God is not human that he should lie he's not a human being that he should change his mind did you hear that I'm gonna read that again because I want us to believe and behave like we just heard that um God is not a human that he should lie not a human that he should change his mind God says when I say it I'll change my mind I said I'll supply all of your needs I hadn't changed my mind I said your enemies will come before you one way in flee seven ways I have not changed my mind I said I will do exceedingly abundantly above all you ask or think I have not changed my mind even when you change your mind I don't change my mind because I'm not you and you aren't me listen to this does he speak and not act does he promise and not fulfill I have received a command to bless he has blessed and I cannot change it this is so important it's important because it means that my faith is built on the truth not the facts my facts on my circumstance the truth is what God says my facts don't change the truth but my faith in the truth changes the facts so I don't know what he said about a thing I won't have anything to believe about a thing and this is why group nights this is why consistent teaching this is why regularity in church this is why I level up challenges where I'm reading the scripture this is why all of that's important because it's feeding me with truth oh my gosh did you hear what I just said it's feeding me with truth this is what the Bible says the word does the Bible says the word is like water that washes our mind because you don't know it but every week you need a good brain wash it because negativity and cynicism and pessimism it's coming through our eye gate and our ear gate and doubt and what you can't do is coming through your eye gate and your ear gate and it's finding itself on the canvas of your mind and when you come to church church becomes your spiritual carwash where God takes the water of the word and he begins to wash that stuff off your mind and say who told you you can't do that let me wash that off who told you you can't recover let me wash that off who told me who told you that your current condition is your final destination let me wash that off now let me rewrite on you no weapon formed against you shall prosper is there anybody here that can testify when I come into God's house I'll leave like my car just got wash hallelujah anybody here remember when you first got your car and that thing got clean come on fellas your swag was different when you go to a good church you walk out but you walk different your man has been washed and cleanse with the truth with the truth with the truth with the truth the Bible says in John Jesus calls the devil a liar he calls him the father of lies Lord I got to get to my other point but we might have to take a praise break right here this means if he's a liar he's incapable of telling the truth so whatever the devil's been whispering to you all week you should be shouting about because whatever he told you means the exact opposite is getting ready to happen so when he tells you you can't make it you ought to shout if he tells you it's over you are the shout because he is a liar and he is incapable of telling the truth all right but the Scriptures teach the devil is a liar here's the question are you treating God like one I'm coming for your faith did you hear me for these next few weeks I'm gonna put so much word in your heart you're gonna be spitting faith up Laura to God I said you're gonna be spitting faith up you're gonna be talking different people are gonna actually how you doing you're gonna go from barely making it you're gonna look at them and say no weapons form and against me it's gonna prosper that's how I'm doing you gonna get an attitude people will be like why are you so aggressive you are aggressive aggressive what's wrong with you it's because faith is gonna get rooted on the inside of you you get ready to build your faith cuz I see a church filled with people feel with faith we full of faith number three who God is what God said number three what God did Jesus says to Peter you a little faith but then he asked him a question I think is it a weird question he asked him why did you doubt I'm looking at that I'm like what Jesus you don't know why he doubted I do it's a storm on the sea he walking on water and he's sinking right I know some of y'all don't claim it like I don't I'm claiming no you thinking - I don't claim this thinking it's water all in your hair you are sinking faith is not a denial of reality faith is a consistent belief in God in spite of faith doesn't deny reality it believes God to change it and I'm like that's that's a real question but when you think about the question in the context not of the episode on the water but when you think about the question in the context of the whole day it's not a real question because at the beginning of the day Jesus had just performed his famous miracle with two fish and five loaves of bread and Peter was a part of that and so it's like jeeter's Jesus is saying okay why are you down you just saw what I did I mean just earlier today I demonstrated to you my faithfulness I fed people I didn't even know and you're in the boat with me and you think I'm gonna let you sink what is he teaching us he's teaching that strong faith is tied to a strong memory and the strong memory isn't remembering everything it's remembering the right things and there are times where in order to have faith to sustain you in the future you have to look back at God's faithfulness in the past that requires intentionality and it requires relabeling things in your past that you mislabeled when you were at a different place in your spiritual maturity because it's some stuff that even now some people who there may be in a different place in their spiritual journey and they are they're saying stuff like oh I got lucky I was so lucky I was fortunate you're mislabeling God's faithfulness there wasn't luck there was a chance I don't know why God did it and did it for you and they do it for anyone else that's what should make his activity intervention in your life so humbling it should make you so appreciative because you're like I don't know why I was fortunate enough to have a fake some faith that someone else did not have but you you gave it to me and I'm so grateful so it's like Jesus is saying you have no logical reason to doubt me now because when you look back in your past John Wesley called prevenient grace like that God's grace was at work in your life before you knew what grace was and before you knew who God was that because that because even when you weren't looking toward God God was looking at you and when you weren't looking up to him he was looking out for you because he knew you were coming into a point in your life where destiny and purpose would marry each other and you would give your life to Him so pavilion per agreement grace walks with you in seasons of missteps and mistakes and gets in the car with you even when you go to the wrong places and walks in the wrong places with you and protects you and covers you and brings you along to the where you actually now surrender your life to him and he says I was preserving you all at that time for this since that wasn't luck that was me so could could could we use some mental reverse engineering here maybe maybe we should stop acting like faith is illogical because maybe doubt is maybe when you look at the evidence of God's faithfulness in your life you have more reason to believe than you do to doubt God has never not been faithful he has not always given you everything that you wanted but he has always giving you what you need and giving you more than you deserve and the question he's asking us is what makes you think I'm leaving you now father I feel your presence what makes you think after all this time I'm gonna let you sink and this is how you know your faith is growing when it takes longer for you to sink when it takes a longer time for you to go down but a faster time for you to come up think about this because there was a time of your life when the slightest thing will happen it's over oh right oh it's over now take you a little longer to go down but you pop back up [Music] because there may be times where you find yourself sinking in grief sinking and disappointment sinking and discouragement but it's a slow sink when you come to yourself you pop back it up in faith now it makes sense when the Scriptures teach that we are to fight the good fight of faith your your fight is a faith fight you can't fight the wind you can't fight the water it's faith you've got a fight to keep believing faith is like a float right it'll leave you if you don't hold on to it but I've seen people in public pools tussle over floats and I want you to know the devil's tussling with you for yours and you have to fight to keep believing you have to fight against faith fatigue when you've been believing so long and it seems like believing is not working you have to fight for faith [Music] because you won't drown in water but you can drown in down and today I want to pray for you that God will give you strength I want to pray for strength for the fight I'm gonna spend the next several weeks doing everything I can hopefully under the leadership of the Holy Spirit to help build your faith to give you the tools to develop it to look throughout Scripture and say how the scripture point us to developing and strengthening our faith I'm gonna do my best to do that but one thing I cannot do is I can't give you the strength to fight that only comes from God and some of you feel yourself sinking [Music] and the longer you sink and the deeper you go the harder it is to come out you know what it is to spiral and I pray today God stops that spiraling father I pray now in the name of Jesus for everyone in this room I pray for strength to believe you for more I pray for those who have faith fatigue I pray for those who are weak and weary and I pray that your will and purpose will be accomplished in our life helped us to fight the good fight of faith we declare our drowning
