when you're friends with scientists you never know when you might be called for a sciency mission like helping chart undersea volcanoes in hawaii [Music] and studying the habits of tropical fish now george had some time to relax [Music] this was the first time ali had shown up for a playdate in a box [Music] but if ali was out here who or what was in there what's in the box where'd it come from is it for you can we open it ah these were all questions that george had too fortunately he knew someone who knew all the answers where'd that box come from it was here when i got here no address no return address hmm maybe it fell out of a truck there's one sure way to find out no george wait i didn't mean we should open it huh we don't know who it's from or if it's for us allie's right it might have fallen off a delivery truck oh you know what i'll call the delivery company in town and see if they know anything about it lost and found i'd like to report a package i found in my yard oh a box that big i'll bet whatever's inside is the most awesome thing ever it could be anything hmm [Music] [Applause] [Music] hi george allie what's in the box we don't know a mystery huh yeah we aren't allowed to open it or move it all we know is that what's inside is this toe and this wide look it's a delivery truck he must be here to pick up the box [Music] george didn't want to say goodbye to the box until he figured out what was inside please don't take it yet oh sorry i've got my orders [Music] we left it here this morning why haven't you opened it oh this was from you it's a little present to thank you for helping us with the volcanoes yes i i often wonder how other scientists manage without a monkey [Music] sure go ahead george george couldn't wait to meet his new goat or eat soup whichever it was [Music] no goat do you know what those are george [Music] george knew furry bowling balls when he saw them [Music] no george those are coconuts oh another box to open george what is all this [Music] a luau in a box huh uh-huh we just stayed when we dropped the box off earlier but uh we left our ukuleles and our other lab coats [Music] well george we learned an important lesson today a box can weigh feel and sound like a goat but if it doesn't smell like a goat it's probably coconuts [Music] thanks for helping me with the nature week exhibit george we'd like to see the tracks of all the animals that live around here the swim mask oh i'm gonna go jump in the lake to conduct the nature week fish survey bye [Music] george wished his photos were more exciting but there weren't many exciting animals around here hey george what you doing wow i see you've got almost every local animal except that fawn i've seen in the hills huh a fawn is a baby deer bet you don't see too many of them in the city huh a fawn was just the special unusual animal george was looking for come on i'll show you where to find it george still hadn't seen the fawn or learned what its tracks looked like [Music] these were the biggest tracks george had seen so far something extra large must have left them they looked like big duck tracks a big duck would make a terrific photo [Music] this was like the long track the garter snake made [Music] a giant duck with a snake's tail would make an even better picture [Music] but a huge snake with duck feet would be the most incredible photo of all [Music] maybe it's swam back home george remembered he'd seen big tracks like these in a book there they were dinosaur tracks a duck-billed dinosaur and the tracks were headed towards bill's house [Music] hiya george did you see the farm yeah i guess those do look like dinosaur tracks [Music] yep my new boots were hurting my feet so i put these on to walk to the lake i told you i was going swimming remember [Music] hey now i know what it's like to walk in a dinosaur's footsteps [Music] with no hungry dinosaurs around george still needed that special photo for natureweek it sounded like jumpy was hungry again [Music] but george had enough pictures of that squirrel [Music] ah [Music] for such big animals those deer left pretty small tracks hey deer tracks wow you used fruits and vegetables to lure the deer to our house so you could take photos [Music] look at these wonderful deer how did you manage to capture such amazing photos george oh you know george he just used his imagination isn't that right [Music] welcome to the incredible edible arboretum a cornucopia of exotic comestibles blueberries alicia blueberries are my favorite bush-based fruit come on george [Music] it looks like you all forgot the county sprout rules uh rule number one never eat any plant that you're not 100 certain is safe and that means consulting the edible plants guidebook um no it means getting an okay from an adult right rule number two plants are living things you can kill or hurt them if you're too rough so don't pull on them and don't break any branches come on [Music] why is the screen flickering [Music] either the earth is off its axis or i forgot to charge the batteries okay george can you climb that tree and see where we are [Music] and bill bill bill where are you going don't worry i've got my handy backup compass this way folks bill a sprout never leaves the trail that's rule number three phil oh my excitement's really growing cause we don't know where we're going in this direction green in this direction a path [Music] george couldn't believe what he was seeing someone was trying to break that branch somebody was not being a sprout [Music] oh no this man was wrecking a tree [Music] hey are you a monkey cool [Music] i always wanted a monkey but my mother said no george had to do something and fast this tree was in trouble [Music] hey return the headgear monkey [Music] george didn't mean for the hat to get wet or the man but george couldn't wait around he had to check on that tree george wished he could think of a way to get the branches back on the tree he needed something sticky really sticky like mud george goodness i found you oh i'm sorry i left you in that tree oh dr greenbean nice to see you huh sorry we're late we've had a rough day tell me about it first this monkey ran off with my hat and now my tree lopper has vanished [Music] hey what's going on we'll put mud on this uh george ah so dr greenbean was cutting some branches and you thought he was hurting the tree oh you should have asked oh wait oh you're a monkey well anyway this is called pruning you make a careful cut and it doesn't hurt the tree at all [Music] hey i got it uh mr sproutmaster according to this you're going the exact wrong wait you're going the right way never mind proceed [Applause] natural geometric exploring presents pirates of the y because [Music] wow how'd you like to sail a ship like that hundley [Music] now there was a ship that couldn't be sunk by monkey breath the ss y because was attacked by the bold pirate black hat besame pirate vessel off the port bow all hands your stations whole win coxswain oh oh those ships were so dignified and neat wouldn't it be great to be an old-time captain [Music] the neatest ship to ever set sail was the ss dignified its commander was world-renowned captain hundley no other captain was as smart as orderly or had as wet a nose all's clear captain hundley sir thank you sir you know how much your approval means to me sir captain hundley's crew was always orderly and efficient whoa [Music] no one knew how to ride the breezes like captain hundley the greatest sailor in the history of wind but all was not smooth sailing the wind was so strong the pirates were upon the dignified before captain hundley could give orders the pirates were led by yellow hat the pirate he's famous you know hi how are you we're uh taking over your ship because well you know that's that's what pirates do [Music] but the most undignified thing wasn't putting captain hundley in his own brig it was this who are you i like you already come on out and have fun with us [Music] george wanted to hang it up where captain hundley could enjoy it [Music] [Music] then george got an idea about how he could really help captain hundley [Applause] [Music] [Music] george are you down here oh my goodness i mean our wake up put on life vests we're we're filling with water sinking we got to get back to our own ship [Music] [Applause] captain hundley used the wind perfectly and they set sail george george [Applause] [Music] hey that sounds fun doesn't it george say hundley your good pal george is gonna come out on the boat with us today at least hundley knew what to expect so he was prepared [Music] [Music] george was conducting an important experiment testing the bounce factor of the living room furniture [Music] this part of the couch made a different sound that wasn't the couch it sounded big it sounded heavy and it came from up there [Laughter] [Music] you must have heard our new neighbor walking around he moved in last week what george had heard seemed heavier than footsteps what are you doing [Music] george you must have heard our neighbor walking that's all it could be it's not like he's got some wild animal up there [Music] the man with the yellow hat lived with george so why couldn't the new neighbor live with an animal what kind [Applause] [Music] [Music] of course the new neighbor had brought home an elephant [Music] the man with the yellow hat had to hear this [Applause] [Music] george [Applause] you dreamt about an elephant [Laughter] [Music] oh um no more nature books before you go to sleep george they're obviously giving you strange dreams yes hi there we're your downstairs neighbors and oh so nice to meet you [Music] george what's he doing i think he's looking for your uh elephant my what oh we heard some loud sounds um very loud sounds very loud oh i am so sorry sometimes i get carried away working on my art i am an artist i do murals i mix my paint here [Applause] then i use these rubber stamps i made [Music] here's one of my completed works [Music] [Applause] [Music] oh we also heard something like a bag of rocks dropping do you use rocks in your work no oh
