welcome my name is michelle mcdaniel i'm a personal trainer a proud mother of a pug a past theatre nerd gone grown-up cosplayer and this is my channel my thoughts will probably offend you where i share my thoughts that will probably offend at least one person so darling if there's anything offending you today right now let us know in the comment section the world is your platform right now to share everything that is offending you what are you waiting for take advantage of its honey anyway my cute little darling offensive minions the situation has gone down and obese to Beast John is once again involved this this stupid arrogant evil man has the audacity to save a body positivity Oh to say that body positivity is for everyone Jay canceled how dare these words leave this mess now okay being extremely dramatic but what do you expect from a YouTube theater nerd so recently well maybe a couple weeks ago I'm dis fashionably late goes with my character so it fits an instagramer / youtuber made a few posts highlighting woman that showed their bodies that are not your typical IG model quote-unquote perfect bodies pretty much the girls which show Instagram forced reality tight pictures and she had a lot to say I'm sorry but I have to say it it really bugs me that thin people are taking up a lot of space in the body positivity / self-love corner of the internet I know I'm going to get backlash for this but it's honestly a major thing for plus-sized creators a lot of people in smaller bodies are creating content about loving the parts of your body that are deemed bad by society is there anything wrong with that not at all self-love for everyone a lot of these people make big money and have great success creating this content also great yay for them the problem for me is that I've noticed for myself as well as many other plus-sized readers in the same corner of the internet is that we don't get half the recognition that slender people do so just notice that she said we in that sentence we do not get happy recognition as these women that are in smaller bodies darlings please keep that in your head I find that most slender content creators who promote body acceptance have to distort their body in order to show off their imperfection everyone is allowed to be self-conscious or have problems loving parts of their body everyone but unlike these influencers I can't just put away my problem areas and continue in this world I don't have the luxury of standing up straight or pulling up my pants and then suddenly perfectly fit society's quote unquote ideal beauty standard unlike them I don't have thin privilege I can't take out my fatness when it's convenient or advantageous for me and live the rest of my day without scrutiny or being shamed and yes these accounts have hundreds of thousands of followers even millions people love these accounts it allows them to feel good about themselves without having to confront their internalized fatphobia I get post the same damn photo and not get any engagement from it why is that because people inherently believe that my body is bad whether consciously or not or a little pause right here this image is just more aesthetically pleasing to people's eyes and the before-and-after picture is pretty interesting to look at I'm someone who's a very bottom heavy woman and when I was a very young girl I was very bottom heavy and I was very insecure about all the cellulite on my book so I probably would have seen that as a young girl be like oh she has like a lot of cellulite too I don't know I think it's kind of nice that people are showing that also Karina you really thick you're gonna get yourself in trouble I'm just kidding ups yeah okay must be serious serious it's so damn hard I would love to be able to support myself by doing what I love and help people through social media the problem is that my body isn't palatable you can't really force people to think that your body is palatable though and there are quite a bit of obese Circular women on the internet that have a huge audience you can't just guilt trip people into following you or thinking that you are attractive or palatable people think this is disgusting I think I'm gonna be saying I'm personally not going to force any ones who think that a bicep is palatable they can think what they want I'm going to continue doing my pull-ups and bicep curls just like people in this paddock sevens community or body positivity community and continues to be circular and working on their engagement and follower count but instead it's the slender influencers that are making big bucks from brand ales creating their own fashion lines receiving massive opportunities instead of those living in more marginalized bodies who are portraying the same message when I used your slender body to promote self-love terrific but also feature marginalized bodies on your account as well so she's pretty much telling people that they need to feature people that look like her on their very popular Instagram so that these people can be popular it also sounds like she is just planning that other people have more followers than her other recent events happening in the news I constantly get people in my inbox say do you want me to share your business because you are a black-owned business and that's very nice but I don't want anyone sharing my stuff unless they truly want you I don't want a guilt trip into I don't want a guilt trip anyone sharing my stuff if you want to share it that's really nice of you if you don't then just don't I personally don't want people just sharing my stuff because I'm black I want them to share it because they truly like my content be vocal tell your fave influencer that it's time to pass the damn mic making it purchase through an influencer stop and check to see if the brand has inclusive sizing hint extra-large isn't inclusive diversify your feed we don't have to only follow slender white women so a lot of people went off on that dose but I was also surprised with how many people were agreeing actually in the beginning she was getting way more positive responsive than negative she put a video and post out on how she was very happy people are discussing the issue and even think the people who disagree with her love all the conversations that are going on thank you for including me I love to hear what everyone's talking about I love it um I've also been getting some negative comments obviously it's gonna come with the territory but Ben the menacing evil slimy John aka Obi Sbisa there's his way into the comments section how dare he I have massive amounts of loose skin am I allowed to post about body positivity why do you get the theme who gets to be body positive or not and she comes back and says body positivity is for fat people of color I learned something new today people didn't take that comment very well at all and she got a ton of backlash for those eight words so as I was reading this because you guys tagged me a lot I had no choice but to see what was going on I thought maybe she just kind of responded super quick and and she was getting some backlash and she was tired of responding and she just you know responded very quickly and a little more in the cold region of responses so I thought girl is gonna come back and say hey I'm sorry I was acting crazy icons it a little too quickly that's not what I meant girl came back and said pretty much the same thing again it's specifically for fat people of color Clara fella can you explain yes of course body positivity is only for my brown sugar sista oh holy yes I'm hey wait a minute she said fat people of color I guess I'm left out again it's fine it's all fine it doesn't bring back memories of being the new girl every year in high school and nobody wanting to include me it's okay it doesn't hurt at all not at all but shortly after a visa B's received that comment he put it on his profile and you guys know when influencers repost comments the followers are not happy and obese obese let loose his beasts on a fellas profile all of the sudden the amount of people disagreeing with her we're out wing the people that were agreeing and she conjured up 3549 comments of opinions at the time that I'm filming this and in my opinion she changed her tone a little bit with the video that I saw her posts after typically not the kind of person to get like bent out of shape over negative comments but I don't know what happened but I just I can't even look at my posts right now they're so bad if you still don't believe that fat people are treated like [ __ ] just go look I'm dead serious and this part it seems she was trying to push the narrative that fat people only fat people get treated like poop just like how body positivity is only for people of color but in reality this is what happens on the internet what a fat activist shares one of my videos guess who's gonna be getting cold a man and being asked how big her is this girl and wouldn't they like to know well here's your answer bigger than your boyfriend's and able to sexually satisfy anything in my presence you're welcome so a lot of people were upset by the post and if you look at rough fellas normal content on her page you can see that she's very Pro fat if you had to choose between health and appearance which one would you pick what if you couldn't have hope what if you have to choose between being healthy and being thin she might not be doing this intentionally but I feel like that's kind of manipulating manipulating her audience a little bit because if you are healthy you'll be of a healthy weight I have never met a 300-pound healthy individual I have also met unhealthy thin people so once again it goes back to if you are actually healthy being active eating a healthy amount of calories for your personal body eating healthy food eating your fiber eating a good amount of protein getting in your vitamins drinking that water taking care of your skin because remember that is an organ as well it will show in your body don't talk to me about Adele unless serenading me with rolling in the diverse of all love that song ii remember when we were talking about how a lot of fat activists were very against people talking about Adele's weight loss when in reality most people who go through a weight loss journey would love for people to notice so people were very upset they found that that post was very hypocritical to a few of her other posts so as you can see in this ticks off video she is basically saying eating disorders don't just affect thin people people of all body sizes can have eating disorders your experience is valid but she was dancing to a different beat in the post that she made were obese obese commented so people found that very just odd this just goes against the post you made that skinny people shouldn't be self-conscious and shouldn't have a huge say in the body positivity and eating disorder support support group and now I will give you my opinion as a black woman so for monarchs in Rockefeller is basically complaining that these people have platforms these people have a lot of followers these people are making money these people are not fat enough to be making these type of posts these people can just put their far away according to her she cannot do that and I have to disagree and slightly agree I see what she's saying these people can cover up strap and tuck in their problem areas and no one would know if they didn't show it Rockefeller and the other obese individuals can not from a personal trainer standpoint you can actually put your fat away it will just take a long time a lot of dedication and less time worrying about other people having more followers and engagement and more time paying attention to what you put in your body you do not have to say fat and before anyone brings up health issues there is a very small percentage of that be pinned down this road before you guys love to bring up PCOS or a thyroid issue a lot of people have those problems I have PCOS there is a buttload of people that will comment when I make this comment saying that yeah I have a thyroid issue too or I have this issue it doesn't stop you from losing weight it just makes it harder that's because it's harder does not mean that it is impossible it just means it's going to take a long time so complaining best you can't just put her fat away nope that excuse goes in the trash she also said that body positivity is for fat people of color um well darling delete your profile because from what I read in her post she is a white one which means she is taking up space for people of color with voices for white women in this picture and a thin white woman at that Rockefeller I am be confused and I have another opinion about that quote body positivity is only for fat people with color girl the burn victims and amputees are looking at you like originally from what I've seen it was for people who lost limbs burn victims etc etc no that's not to say that body positivity hasn't shifted over the years obviously it has this whole movement is all about accepting you know your ear imperfection but I have still nowhere have seen in a definition saying that body positivity is for fat fat women that women of color and that's it because a buttload of you fat positive influencers near to get them out then and I also think that those words are extremely toxic that's a popular word nowadays I like to say deadly because that perpetuates the idea to women of color that we are supposed to be obese I don't know how many times I hear in the black community to not lose weight because that's not what we do we are not white and african-american women do we have a lot to work on when it comes to obesity african-american women have the highest rates of obesity or being overweight compared to other groups in the United States about four out of five African American women are overweight or obese in 2018 African Americans were 20% less likely to engage in acts of physical activity as compared to non-hispanic whites so I personally hated that comment because I just think of all of my family or at least ninety eight percent of them who are morbidly obese I told you guys before when I went back home to my family like reunion or like get-togethers I see my aunts just hanging over the counter scraping cake into their mouth I know I'm dramatic but that's is real life and they're big and I know some of them watch my videos and I really really hope you guys start to get help I hated that comment because it just perpetuates the idea that black women or people women of color are just supposed to be bigger or Hervey like I know some of you people are saying about this very beautiful woman yes obesity suits her well she carries more fat in her bottom half than she doesn't her waist I was very similar so I got a huge pass for being obese but sorry to break it to you she's obese yes beautiful and yet obese and therefore unhealthy I cannot stand that comment I got a lot of comments when I was losing weight saying things like you're trying to lose weight that's so white yes it's so whites and not want to have a heart attack and get diabetes I know so white of me but you guys know my opinion in thoughts now I want to hear yours remember you don't have to be a size two having big biceps are great to have to scare away all the boys but not need it to be healthy but health is extremely important I want all of my followers subscribers even the people that hate me and of course a rock fella and obesity's everyone to be as healthy as possible and also be very comfortable in their own skin accepting all of their flaws I hope you guys enjoyed this video I am looking forward to reading all of your comment and I will see you guys next time [Music] you see the truth in my Carla kitty do you secure the bag you know you see the droopy unfitted and my karma kitty he's secured of my key I get the mug open on the flexor stretch [Music]
