first up is the orthon explosive the orthon explosive causes infernal burning which causes the affected entity to take fire damage and cannot recover hit points for three turns the orthon explosive is the only item that can cause infernal burning and can be crafted from the devil foil masks found within the underd dark there are four total devil foil masks that can be found one at the dig site in the Grim Forge where the cave-in happened one at the foot of a staircase behind a wall of rubble and two found in a hidden room with hell's bores and a maragon legionaire one on the legionaire and the other in the altar in that room now once you have at least one devil foil mask you'll need to head to last Light in and speak to Damon he mentions if you find any infernal material he can craft something for you and these devil foil masks are included after you hand them over he'll give you the orthon explosive one for each mask you give him and what's great about infernal burning is it cannot be removed by healing potions wet or even the help action a truly hellish condition indeed and next up is a hidden interaction with soul coins now usually Soul coins are supposed to Grant carlac 1 D4 fire damage when she's raging or when her hit points drop below 25% but for some reason it's also granting two additional instances of 2 D4 fire damage when carlac makes an unarmed strike that means up to 16 additional fire damage per unarmed strike and 32 if the target is vulnerable to fire damage this is a pretty amazing amount of damage since Soul coins last until long rest and would be really great when making carlac an open-hand Monk and if you like that tip don't forget to click the like button and subscribe for more balers Gate 3 videos and next up is gold braith the Mind flare Hunter a laran writer sent this message to a fan the glitter Gala Bloom Ridge Park and the blushing mermaid form a triangle in the lower city of balder's gate and at its Center is Goldrath Cellar where the mighty Goldrath strad ofos can be found a mind flare hunt of great Renown he has since retired and now spends his days writing in the hopes of passing his knowledge onto future Generations now this NPC has quite the background story and even has a gift for you g braith is a character based off a real person when a fan wrote to laran thanking them for releasing early access so that he and his father could play before his father's Alzheimer's progressed to the point where he wouldn't be able to play laran decided to show their support to those affected by the Disease by adding this father's fan to the game and like in the message laran sent there is in fact a large Hidden area in the cellar but to get a very rare Shield all you need to do is talk to Goldrath and he'll give it to you as a gift and next up is The Shield of scorching reprisal this very rare Shield has a very unique effect on it called blazing retaliation when a melee attack misses the wearer deal 1d6 fire damage to the attacker this Shield fits right into a radiating orb build which reduces enemies chance to hit per orb and the shield also grants resistance to fire damage which is the most common Elemental damage type you'll run into so this Shield is actually pretty good and it's also pretty hidden to find the shield of scorching reprisal you'll need to head to last Light in in act two and head north across the bridge once across go immediately to the right and you'll need one of your party members to pass a perception check in order to interact with some Rubble you'll then need to pass a strength check to destroy the rubble under which you'll find a fallen flaming fist's corpse and on that corpse is The Shield of scorching reprisal and next up is the hidden upper City sewers these sewers even contain a death knight and is found near the end of the game right before the courtyard fight past the high Halls there's actually a secret entrance to the sewers that lets you skip the entire Courtyard fight you can discover this if you use speak with dead on the absolute cultists right before the courtyard and ask them how they got there these sewers aren't entirely a cake walk though you will encounter goblins absolute cultists Undead and stalker sgy the death knight once you fight your way through you'll emerge on the other side of the courtyard and be able to progress to the next area and next up is how to eat a mind flare brain in act three you'll find a newborn mind flare sleeping in an abandoned windmill you can slay this mind flare while it's sleeping and actually consume its brain for an additional athid power functioning exactly as if you'd found another mind flare tadpole however you can also wake up the Mind flare and offer to help it the newborn mind flare is brain starved and needs a fresh Corp to feed on if you go to the well just down the road you can actually find murdered Refugee corpses if you bring it to him he will search your mind for any gaps and knowledge and fill them effectively giving you another tadpull to select another athid power now both rewards are exactly identical but if you bring him the corpse he'll actually appear again in the lower City killing some NPCs later and next up is the voice from the deep hole this rarely heard voice can be found when interacting with a deep hole found in the underd dark right before the field of Biber bang mushrooms however the only way you'll get a response from the deep hole is if the Boule is still alive that's because this hole belongs to the Boule which means if you speak with animals before interacting with the deep hole you can actually have a conversation with the Boule now as you might imagine the Boule is a bit of an angry creature warning you to keep away or you might be its next meal but it's all bark and no bite in this case because there is no dialogue option that makes the Boule come out of the deep hole and attack you you're totally safe at least right here and next up is the umly cave this secret cave is hidden under the water Queen's house with an entrance on the southwest side of the cliff in here you'll find priestesses of umly apparently sacrificing KU TOA and storing lots of stashed treasure however what's cool about this area is that if you decide to steal from umly she will not be very happy and she will actually summon swagen to attack you and next up is the addled frog this seemingly harmless low Health Critter when spoken to with speak with animals appears to be in tremendous pain that is if ATI ethyl is still alive if you choose the wrong dialogue options this frog will even actually attack you and it's actually quite hilarious because it has 31 AC and could be kind of tricky to defeat it reflects ranged attacks because it has an ability called mucus membrane that means if you throw a bomb at it that bomb is going to bounce right back at you and it's got a very strong acid attack because it does a lot of AOE damage however the counter to the frog is sleep which is easy to cast since it has such a small Health pool and then you can defeat it easily however even better is to defeat Auntie Ethel and then return to the Frog she'll then lead you to her shiny Treasures stashed away within the swamp which is pretty cool and next up is Duke Raven guard's long sword this weapon grants plus two to Charisma and has two awesome mechanics stirring execution when you kill an enemy allies gain temporary hit points equal to your charisma modifier this is great since in Comm combat you can finish off multiple enemies and Grant a lot of temporary hit points throughout a fight considering your whole party will get them however it gives that character's Charisma modifier and health instead of the wielder of the blades Charisma modifier like you might think which is definitely not as good and there's also Commander strike which lets you use both an action and a bonus action to give a party member an attack as a reaction now I could see this being pretty great if the target you are giving an extra weapon attack to has a really powerful two-handed weapon that can one shot an enemy and would definitely make this worth it but otherwise it seems very expensive for what you get this blade is not easily obtained either because it belongs to Duke ravengard now if you want him alive then getting this requires you to save ravengard and then bring him to your Camp once there you can actually carry him around using improvised melee weapon just cancel it right before you actually throw him bring him far away from will since will isn't going to like what you're about to do once he's in the corner throw drought poison at him repeatedly until he falls asleep then toggle non-lethal attacks and knock him out once he's asleep you'll automatically get a crit on your next attack and then once he's knocked out you can loot this amazing hidden blade and next up is the amazing helmet of Arcane Acuity probably one of the best helmets in the entire game while wearing this helmet whenever you deal damage with a weapon attack you gain Arcane Acuity for two turns Arcane Acuity grants you a plus one bonus to spell attack roles and spell save DC this is incredibly powerful on classes that attack multiple times in a turn and also cast spells and when you combine this with band of the Mystic scoundrel which lets you cast illusion or enchantment spells as a bonus action after hitting a creature with a weapon attack you can cast spells that are basically guaranteed to succeed every single turn to get this helmet you'll need to head to act two and go to the Mason's Guild on the ground floor there's an ornate wooden hatch that leads to the basement once there you'll find a tower-shaped keyhole the key to this can be found in last Light in in a pouch if Mattis died or you can find it on mtis if he lived once inside you'll need to pass through a hallway leading to a great hall and at the very end of that Hall is a chest containing the amazing helmet of Arcane Acuity and next up is how to give your entire party a plus 1 D4 bonus to attack roles and saving throws this buff is none other than bless now this spell typically only lasts 10 turns but when earned through this method you can have it until long rest for your whole party to do this you need to head to crush yel and defeat chai wargas upon doing so you'll speak with vth and have the chance to enter the astral prism once inside after you exit dialogue with the dream visitor your whole party will have the bless condition now unfortunately it does only last until long rest but if there are any enemies left within the crush that you want to defeat for more experience this buff can help make short work of them and last is the Explorer ring this hidden ring is found behind the field of Biber bang mushrooms those are the ones that explode when you get too close you need to jump across multiple platforms of Rock and once you get to the end there's a skeleton that has this ring it's super easy to miss because of how dark it is so you'll want to use a light or some other light source to see it this ring grants plus one to Nature and plus one to survival not really the best ring by a long shot but if you have nothing else better at the time the plus one to survival will help you find mounds of dirt to dig up if you've been failing those survival checks
