playlists with all the you can draw this video tutorials i launch a new tutorial every week on friday so if you don't want to miss that then be sure to hit that notification bell when you subscribe to the channel and once you have followed this tutorial all the way till the end once you have your result you are probably very proud of yourself so be sure to share your work online on social media if you do if you share it on instagram then be sure to tag me in the image not just in the description because that way i will be able to find your work and perhaps we will see your work in the next video during this tutorial we will be using free brushes only brushes that are already inappropriate app but also a brush that you can find through my treasure chest if you go to freefromflow.com you can sign up and get a whole lot of free brushes but also my ebook about color theory and yes it's totally free that's why it's called free from flow so if you are ready go and grab your pencil or your finger and let's get started the canvas is 2 300 pixels by 3 000 pixels and i have my color profile set to srgb still your colors could look a little bit different because it just can be different between devices and also we do some some video editing which might make the colors look a bit different if you want to get as close as possible to my colors then you can download the color palette through the link in the description and yes of course that's also free but now let's get started first thing we are going to do is fill our background color we will go to the layer menu and work on layer one and we are going to fill it with this color over here that second color in the first row and now just drag in that circle drag it on top of your canvas and now we will go to the textures brushes and we are going to use the grunge brush and for the color we are going to use the first color in the first row that dark blue and the opacity of this brush is set to 75 percent and the size is at a hundred percent and now let's just go over our canvas and fill it with this nice grungy texture make sure that you leave some gaps you don't have to fill everything because we do want to be able to see that texture [Music] so go on until you have something that looks like this now we are going to create our moon we are going to do that on a new layer so let's go to the layer menu click the plus for a new layer and for our brush we are going to use the monoline brush which you can find under calligraphy and for the color we are going to use this fifth color in the first row make sure that the opacity of your brush is at percent and the size doesn't really matter i have it set to 25 and we are going to draw a circle now procreate makes that super easy for you you can just make a circle and then hold your pen in place to make it snap to a quick shape and then you can hold one finger on your screen to make it snap to a perfectly round circle and once you have a circle you can drag in the color to fill your circle now we want our moon to be in the center let's go to the arrow tool here at the top then go to snapping and make sure that you have snapping turned on now when you move your circle around you will see that orange line appear and make sure that it's in the vertical center and just drag it down a little bit until it's about here and then click the arrow tool again to get out of there now we are going to blur our moon just a little bit we will go to the magic wand here at the top then go to gaussian blur set it to layer and then drag your pen or your finger to the right on your screen and let's go for 2.8 percent and then click the magic wand again now we are going to add some texture to our moon let's go to the layer menu click that layer and then turn on alpha lock now our moon is locked we can only paint on the moon shape and our paint won't show up outside of our moon and that's perfect when you want to add texture to a shape otherwise our texture will go all over our sky and we don't want that let's go to the brushes and we'll go to industrial where is it there it is and we will use heavy metal and for our color we are going to use this color the fourth color in the first row i have the opacity set to a hundred percent and the size is at what is it i can't see it i think it's 52 procreate should think of a solution for that now let's go over our moon and add a little texture i'm focusing on the lower half i want that half to be a bit lighter just for some variation so if it looks something like this then you're fine all right now we are going to the abstract brushes over here and we are going to use the polygons brush and for our color we are going to use the sixth color in the first row i have the opacity set to 100 and the size is set to 100 as well and now let's go over the top half here and add some polygons that's looking nice and abstract now we will create a new layer on top of our moon so let's go to the layer menu click the plus for a new layer now we are going to add like a mountain range first we are going to pick the color for our mountain and that will be this first color in the second row and we are going to use the selection tool to create our mountains the selection tool is this s-shape ribbon here at the top we are going to set it to freehand and we are going to turn on color fill if it's blue you know it's turned on and now we are going to create a wobbly line from left to right you can zoom out a little bit by pinching and our mountains will cover about the lower half of our moon so let's start about here and just make a wobbly line imagining you are creating mountains here you can make it a bit zigzaggy let's go up here and then down again and let's go back up here until you are on the other side and loop around and close the shape and since we have color fill turned on as soon as you close the shape it'll get filled now let's make more mountains let's create a new layer by going to the layer menu clicking the plus and then we are going to use the selection tool again but first let's pick another color let's go to the color menu and let's pick the third color over here in the second row then we'll go to the s shape ribbon again and we'll make these mountains a little bit lower let's start about here and make another wobbly line go up and down as you move to the right make a wiggly line go down here then back up and then loop around and close the shape now let's go ahead and add some texture to our mountains first click the s-shape ribbon to turn off the selection let's zoom in a little bit again and now let's go to that first mountain range i'm going to turn off layer 4 for now by checking this check mark then go to layer 3 and then turn on alpha lock because we want to add texture and we want to add it to the mountain only we don't want our texture to show up on our moon so alpha lock is what we need now first let's go to the charcoals over here and use the burnt tree and for the color we are going to use this second color over here in the second row the size the opacity is at 65 percent and the size is at barely visible i think it's 80 percent and now we are going to glaze over the mountain you might not be able to see it very clearly but there is a basic texture on our mountains right now now we'll go to the organics brushes over here the organic set and use the spires brush and for the color we will use the third color in the second row the opacity is at a hundred percent and the size is at barely visible again i think it's 30 and now let's glaze over the mountains again and add this nice texture and now we are going to do the same thing for the other mountain so let's go back to layer four turn it on by hitting that check mark and then turn on alpha log by clicking the layer and turning on alpha lock then we'll go back to the charcoal's brushes use the burnt treat and then we'll use the fourth color and the second row the size and opacity remain the same let's just go over add a little base texture and then we'll move to the spires brush again under organic and we'll switch to the fifth color in the second row and again go over the mountains to add this nice texture now let's create a new layer on top by clicking the plus and now we are going to use a brush from the treasure chest the artwork flow pack we are going to use the pine tree forest brush and for the color we are going to use this green here at the bottom the first and only color in the third row the opacity is at 100 and the size is at 10 percent and let's just add some trees here to the bottom just go over the lower part don't cover all of the mountains i think that's looking nice now i want to go back to layer four that's these light mountains now let's go to the airbrushing brushes and use the soft brush and we are going to use this fifth color and the first row the opacity of the brush is at 60 and the size is at 25 and let's just glaze over the lower part adding a little light there and it's a bit as if there's some mist between the trees and then let's move to our night sky let's start adding some stars and constellations now you can look up constellations online you can google them and find some examples just pick your favorites your sky doesn't necessarily have to make sense mine won't at least let's go to layer one click that layer and then click the plus for a new layer on top and then let's go to the luminance brushes and use the light pen for a color we are going to use this third color in the first row and now let's start creating some constellations the opacity of the brush is at a hundred percent and let's set the size to 40 percent like i said you can use the examples online of constellations or you can just follow my example even though the sky won't make a lot of sense i'll probably have constellations close together that aren't close to each other in real life but i don't think they will care alright now make your brush smaller as you connect the lines let's go to nine percent and now we are going to turn this into a nice constellation even though this is not what you see and a real night sky of course but that's not the point of the of the illustration so it's it's like connect the dots or drawing by number connecting the the numbers so we got one that looks quite similar to a real live constellation let's make the brush bigger again forty percent and let's make another one i'm just picking my favorite ones and you can pick your favorite ones you can definitely find something online or you can make imaginary constellations of course again i'll connect the dots i'll go for six percent and you can hold your pen in place when you make a line to make it snap to a quick shape or a quick line that way you are sure that you have straight lines then i'll make the brush bigger again back to forty percent and let's go for another one and with this with this brush with this light pen the harder you press the bigger well the star will become that's at least if you are using a a brush a pen with pressure sensitivity i'm going for five percent let's connect the dots this is like an upside down man that's what the constellation looks like in my opinion not sure which one it is actually let's keep going let's turn it up to 40 again let's make one over here you can you can make them close to the moon you can make them disappear behind the moon a bit make the brush smaller again five percent and just continue until you have a sky filled with constellations and once you have your constellations let me make our brush bigger 40 once you have them of course you can start adding more stars to your sky you don't just want the constellations there are also some lonely stars that don't belong to a constellation so just fill up the sky a bit with some extra stars [Music] until it looks something like this then let's go to the flair brush which is also part of the luminance pack let's click it and we are going to adjust it just a little bit let's go to shape and let's turn on randomized now the rotation of the brush will be randomized let's click done now the opacity of the brush is at a hundred percent and the size is at ten percent and let's add a little spark to some of our stars let's just click them and add these sparkles and the rotation will be randomized so they won't look the same they will look slightly different now for a final little touch i want to add a little glow to our moon let's go to layer 2 and let's duplicate that layer you can do that by sliding to the left then clicking duplicate then let's go to the bottom layer and we will have to turn off alpha lock click the layer click alpha lock then go to the magic wand use gaussian blur and set it to layer and now you can drag your pen or your finger to the right and that way you can create this glow i don't want too much let's go for 15.5 percent and then click the magic wand again and that's it you have made it till the end you have created a lovely night sky scene i hope you have enjoyed following this tutorial please be sure to let me know in the comments and
