this is a very special you can draw this because for the first time ever in you can draw this history you can actually contribute to raise awareness for the issues facing our planet just by drawing and sharing your work just to let you know this is not a paid promotion i do this because i care about our planet and as bob ross would say there's nothing wrong with having a tree as a friend on march 27 we celebrate earth hour and i think it would be great if we could speak up for nature together so once you have finished following this tutorial share your work online and use earth hour and tell us how you are going to celebrate earth hour you'll get a chance to get featured by wwf and on march 27 the three most creative submissions will get a special wwf shirt if you want more info then you can find a link in the description and what you'll also find in the description is the link to the color palette of course because i have made a color palette in case you want to use the exact same colors as i'm using during this tutorial just don't forget set your color profile to srgb and the canvas is 2 300 pixels by 3000 pixels and the first thing we'll do is create a circle we'll use the monoline brush under calligraphy and we'll pick this first color in the color palette the opacity of the brush is at a hundred percent and i have my size at eight percent and let's just draw a circle hold your pen in place and tap one finger on your screen and there we have our planet earth very stylized and minimalistic let's fill it by dragging in the circle into our circle and sometimes you might need to adjust your color drop threshold you can do that by holding the pen in place well not really in place but sliding it to the left or right until your circle is filled entirely and you don't have a little like edge now let's drag this circle to the bottom we'll go to the arrow tool here at the top and you can drag your circle down all the way to about here i want to make it a little bit bigger be sure that you have it set to uniform and you can just drag that handle make it a little bit bigger and i'll move it down a little bit more if you go to snapping you can set well you can turn snapping on i will turn off magnetics and this way you can center your earth well you can center it in the center that's the idea let's place it about here and then you can click the arrow again to get out of that menu now we'll go back to the layer menu and we'll click the plus for a new layer and we'll drag it underneath our earth and we are going to fill it with this color over here that third color in the color palette just drag it onto your canvas and we are going to make the top part even darker we'll grab the soft brush under airbrushing and we will pick this fourth color in the color palette i have the opacity set to 75 percent and let's set the size to 12 percent and now we will darken that top area to about here you can make multiple strokes making it even darker and then once you have this you can go to the magic wand make gaussian blur set it to layer and drag your pen to the right to blur it i will go for 41.5 and then click the magic wand again next we are going to add some land to our earth we'll go to the layer menu click layer one first and then the plus for a new layer and for the brush we are going to the artistic brushes and use the hearts brush and for the color let's start out with this brown color over here and let's make the brush a little bit bigger let's go for seventeen percent the opacity is at a hundred percent and let's create some random land in in the sky don't worry about this this is what we want just some random brown blobs now let's go to the lighter brown the second color let me make the brush a little bit smaller ten percent and let's add some light touches as well and some on this brown blob we're just creating some random land and now that we have this land we are going to place it on our globe let's go to the move tool that's the little arrow let's move it down first and let's place our canvas up a little bit and now go to warp and let's warp our land and wrap it around our earth [Music] you can drag these handles and make it follow that shape of the globe so that it wraps nicely around the planet until it looks something like this then you can go to the layer menu click that layer and set it to clipping mask now you're sure that it's not going outside of those edges we don't have any floating land and now that we have covered the land let's create some clouds let's click the plus for a new layer go to the color palette and click the third color over here we are going to approach it the same way as we did with the land let's grab a different brush we are going to the elements brushes and use the clouds brush i have the opacity set to 100 and i'm going to set the brush to let's say 22 percent and let's make some random clouds and then we are going to place it on the globe just like we did with the land first set it to uniform so you can move it down let's make the canvas a bit smaller again and place it around here and then we can go to warp again and wrap these clouds around our globe i'm going to go for something like this then click the arrow again and let's set it to clipping mask click the layer select clipping mask and now i want to liquefy it a little bit we'll go to the adjustment menu the little magic wand and then to liquify and you can play around with these settings a little bit i have it set to trill right the size is at 55 pressure to max distortion set to 37 and momentum to 25 i'm just going to tap on these areas making these clouds swirl a little bit and once you have some nice swirls we'll go to the layer menu again click the plus for a new layer i'll set it to clipping mask again click the layer select clipping mask and i want to add some extra clouds still using that clouds brush but i am going to make it a bit smaller let's go for six percent and by hand you can add some extra cloud texture just so it doesn't look like some like stirred milk you want some of that cloud texture especially around those edges and now let's go to that bottom layer with clouds layer four and we're going to lower the opacity just a little bit let's click the end and drag it to the left making those clouds a little bit more subtle let's go for 68 now click layer 5 again and click the plus for a new layer and again set it to clipping mask so that our paint will only show up on our globe we are going to set this layer to multiply click the m drag up and set it to multiply now when we paint everything will become darker we are going to grab the soft brush under airbrushing and for the color we are going to pick this third color in the color palette and we are going to make the brush a little bit bigger let's go forward 20 and we are going to darken this lower area of our earth and we'll keep the top part light so make these round motions we can really darken up this bottom here now let's add some glue we'll go back to the layer menu click layer 1 and duplicate this drag it to the left then click duplicate and select the bottom layer we are going to recolor this we'll go to the color palette pick this color and drag it onto the shape you're not seeing it right now but when you go to the layer menu you see that this one is lighter now we are going to blur this layer to add a glow let's go to the magic wand and pick gaussian blur set it to layer and then drag your pen to the right and let's add a nice glow let's go for 24 and then click the magic wand again but i want to add even more glow let's go to the layer menu and duplicate that layer one again then pick that bottom one and let's drag it underneath that other layer one and let's fill it with this very light blue color over here that sticks color drag it onto the shape and let's make it a little bit bigger let's go to that arrow let's set it to uniform and drag the handle to make it a little bit bigger than our earth and because we have snapping turn on if you move it around it'll center it you will get that orange line so it's a little bit bigger than our earth now then just click the arrow again and now we are going to change the layer blending mode we'll click the n and then set it to screen screen is like a layer that lightens everything underneath and we are going to blur it a little bit so we'll go to the magic wand again pick gaussian blur then layer and drag to the right just a little bit let's go for 4.3 percent and then click the magic wand again i don't want this glow all over though i don't want it here on the sides because there it's pretty dark so let's mask a part of the layer we can click the layer and then select mask and with this layer mask we can mask parts of the layer we'll use the soft brush and it is set to black you can double tap here at the bottom paint on the layer mask and you can just paint over these sides and it'll mask that area on this side as well so that that very light glow is only visible at the top of our earth let's add even more glow we'll do that on a layer underneath this one we can click layer 2 then the plus for a new layer and for the color we will use this nice bright blue we're still using that soft brush the opacity is still at 75 and the size is at 20 and let's add a little bit of a glow here making rounded motions and then if it is not soft enough you can just go to the magic wand again it's like magic use the gaussian blur set to layer and slide to the right to make it even softer for instance with a 16.8 blur and then click the magic wand again we have a nice spotlight on our earth let's start adding some stars let's create a layer underneath layer 10 with the glow let's click layer 2 click the plus for a new layer and before we start adding some clouds let's start adding some nebula we'll do that by going to the luminance brushes and pick the nebula brush and let's keep using this bright blue i have the brush set to 30 opacity and the size is at what is it seven percent now let's just go over this area and add a little bit of that nebula just to add some interest to our starry night sky just some random specs i'm just making some wobbly zigzag motions that way you get a nice variety [Music] and if you feel like it's a bit too visible you can just go to the layer menu click that end and turn down the opacity a little bit i'll go for 75 and then click the plus for a new layer and we will use the glimmer brush i have the settings of the glimmer brush set to well spacing set to max jitter set to max and when you go to shape i have scatter set to max as well for the color let's pick this very bright blue the sixth color in the color palette i have the opacity of the brush set to a hundred percent and the size is at ten percent and let's just fill our sky with lots of stars i'm using very little pressure the harder you press the bigger your stars will become if you are using a pressure sensitive pen that is don't try it with your finger pressing harder won't work then you might just break your screen right let's add lots of stars because since we have turned off our lights for earth hour we can see way more stars the darker it is on our planet the more stars we will see [Music] so that's another good reason to turn off your lights on earth hour go outside and watch those stars you can see i press harder every once in a while to add some bigger stars [Music] just cover the entire like galaxy cover everything you want stars all over and now let's create a new layer let's go to the layer menu click the plus for a new layer and let's add even more stars in a band here start here near earth and then add a band of lots of stars as if we're looking at the edge of our milky way so lots of stars are gathering here a collection of stars like that and now i want to add some cloud-like shapes and we are going to use a brush from the treasure chest for that you can get it for free through freefromflow.com and we'll use the cloud brush from my pack and let's grab this blue color and let's make a new layer just click the plus for a new layer on top of our stars layer i have the brush opacity set to 100 and the size is at 10 percent and i'll start here at the bottom and i'll make these s-like shapes wavy shapes going up creating this like magic flow going up in our galaxy and i'm making these wavy lines a bit like s shapes and using very little pressure on my pen let's make the brush a little bit smaller i'll go for five percent to add some thinner strokes you can just follow the wavy lines that are already here and let's also grab this lighter blue color that second color in the color palette and again i'll just follow the shape that we have already created and with the smaller brush i'll brighten some areas up a bit more keep making the wavy s-shaped lines and work your way up so don't forget once you have finished following this tutorial share it on social media speak up for nature and share how you are going to celebrate earth hour on march 27th the three most creative ways of celebrating earth hour they will get a special wwf shirt i'm going to switch to the blue again [Music] and add some more of this like galaxy magic and if you want to know more about earth hour and about well hashtag earth hour you need to use that by sharing your work if you want to get a chance to get featured by wwf and get a chance winning such a t-shirt but if you want to know more you can check the link in the description let's make the brush a bit bigger again 15 i'm gonna add some bigger clouds on the outside i like this now we are going to add some extra bright stars we'll make a new layer for that let's click the plus for the new layer and the reason why we are creating new layers is because it gives you more control if anything goes wrong you can always change things later let's go back to the luminance brushes and pick the light pen and for the color we'll stick with this blue now let's well let me first tell you the opacity it's set to 60 and the size is at 30 and let's create some extra bright stars i'll place a couple of them here and a star over here it will follow this cloud-like shape and add some of these stars along the way i'm making multiple taps multiple little dabs on the screen to brighten up these these stars here let's create a nice and bright one here now let's make a little line up down left and right to make it appear extra bright you can also make some smaller ones until you feel like you have enough bright stars as a final touch i want to add an extra glow at the top we'll go to the top of the layers layer six and click the plus there and let's click the n and set this layer to color dodge for the brush we'll go to the soft brush under airbrushing and for the color we will use this bottom color over here i haven't changed the settings of the brush it's still at 75 opacity and 20 size and let's just go over the top area of our earth and add a little bit more glue and if you feel it's too much you can just click that cd and lower the opacity a little bit to 75 for instance and there you have your planet earth don't forget to turn off your lights on march 27 if you want to see these stars in real life and use hashtag earth hour when sharing your work on instagram or other social media platforms thank you for watching and i will see you next time
