you can draw this in procreate you can create this magical force scene in procreate using just the brushes that are already in the app and good news during this video i will also share a free brush to create it there in this image you can download it for free through the link in the description i will show every step of the process so if you follow the video all the way till the end you can create this and to be sure that once you're finished to share your work on instagram and tag me in the image not just in the description that way i will be able to find your work and perhaps will see it in the next you can draw this video let's get started right away first things first are canvas it's 2500 by 2500 pixels and i have created a color palette for you which you can also download for free through the link in the description first thing we'll do is create a gradient on our background we will do it on layer one and first we'll drop in this blue color and if you're wondering flow it's procreate 5x why aren't you using the gradient mapping tool gradient mapping it's not making a gradient it's something else it's like an overlay over your image with all which also has a gradient but it's not making gradients so we will still be using our our old way of making gradients which is just fine for the brush we will use the soft brush which you can find under airbrushing and we will pick this color right here in the color palette that second color and let me turn up the opacity of this brush all the way to a hundred percent and we will go over the top area of the canvas the size by the way it doesn't really matter it's eight percent right now and we'll just cover the top part of the canvas like this and now we can go to the magic wand then to gaussian blur and select layer and then we'll use the slider and create a nice gradient for our background you can go for around 50 something like that and then we'll create a new layer on top of this one by clicking the plus and for the brush we will go to the calligraphy brushes and use the script brush this time and for the color we will use this first color in the color palette the opacity of this brush is set to 100 and the size of this brush is set to 34 with this brush the harder you push with your pencil the thicker the stroke will be first thing we need to do is create a new layer on top of our background by clicking the plus and on this layer we will create our frame we'll start here at the bottom in the middle going up slightly then we'll go up here and we'll create another slope as we go towards the top and then on this side we will mirror that shape a bit going down here and it's fine if it's a bit wobbly because these are trees framing our magical four scene now we can drop in the color just by dragging the circle onto the outside and now we can start adding a bit to these trees so we'll go and start adding branches and at the beginning of your stroke try to push harder on your pen as you go to the outer end of your branch use a bit less pressure and we'll just make a variety of branches making sure that near the tree near the base of the tree these branches will be nice and thick and as you move you will make your brush stroke thinner this is actually a great exercise it's what you use for calligraphy for instance so this way you are practicing your your control over your pen and over the pressure that you're using just make a variety of branches of course we practiced this in the previous video with the spooky landscape the spooky house we also made branches i'll just start out with the thicker branches with big shapes and later on we can continue making smaller branches let them overlap and vary the shapes of these branches and just go thinner i should go towards the outside or actually the inside of the shape and just continue making these shapes covering the top part of this opening here making a lot of thin branches here at the top [Music] now let me just speed this part up a little bit for you since we'll be repeating this step but of course you can take your time and pause the video if needed continue creating these branch shapes until the top part of your image is nicely covered next we'll also add the base of some bushes here at the bottom and for these we'll just use some like spikes little branches we'll add little leaves on these later we just need a little bit of a base here i'm using very very little pressure on my pen so this way the brush strokes are very thin but if you're having trouble using less pressure then of course you can always just lower the size of your brush i'm just covering the sides of the forest here adding to the framing of our subject which we will add later with the free brush i was talking about at the beginning and which you can just download for free through the link in the description where you can also find the color palette in case you want to use the exact same colors also i haven't mentioned it in all of my videos but i always have the color profile of my canvases i always have them set to srgb iec long code after that but you'll recognize it when you see it i think this is about enough of grass type bush here so we can continue now we are going to start adding some grass to our scene and we'll do that on a separate layer behind our trees that we just made so first click the background layer layer one and then click the plus for the brush we will go to the painting brushes and use the dry brush which you can find right here and for the color we will pick this nice green over here the opacity of the brush is at a hundred percent and for the size we'll go to around 35 and we'll just make horizontal strokes over the lower part of our painting and for the top part we can go a bit smaller with our brush let's say 19 a little bit more control at the top but i like it nice and painterly now let's also add some darker patches let's use this very dark third color right here and let's go over the sides a bit adding some color variation some value variation to our grass we'll make the foreground here a little bit darker and these sides this adds a nice painterly texture making it feel a little bit mossy now we'll move to our background trees we'll paint those on a layer on top of our grass so again we'll click the plus for a new layer and for the brush we will use the same brush that we just used for the other trees in the four rounds so we'll go to the script brush but we'll use a different color we'll use this one here in the color palette and let's just create some trees in the background start here at the bottom and mostly i will be creating these three trunks and not a lot of branches just some basic tree shapes in the background don't make them too thick you can make them a bit wobbly super handy when you tend to make wobbly lines doesn't matter if you're creating these trees go ahead and express your wobbliness every time i'll start at the bottom and i'll go to the top because at the bottom at the start of my stroke i tend to push harder and it's easier to well kind of release the pressure as i go up as i move my brush and of course you can always just use the eraser if you're not happy with your tree or use the undo option i'll just fill this background here you can vary the thickness of the trees a little bit and the wobbliness and you can give some of them some branches perhaps this one here we're almost there i just want to fill this entire background with some trees and one more over here a thinner one now i don't really like these undersides of these trees so what i'd like to do is go to the eraser and for the eraser i will use the old brush again and now i can just go over these undersides just a little bit and that way you get a little bit of texture there instead of these strange looking wobbles doesn't look very natural so we'll just dab over these undersides making them merge with the grass some more now i'd like to add some bush to the background behind the trees so i'll go behind the trees be underneath this layer but um yeah also underneath the grass at first i thought i would go above but let's go under the grass as well so we'll click layer one the background color and then click the plus for a layer that's behind these trees and the grass for the brush we will go to the painting brushes again and this time we'll use fresco and for the color let's go and use this color right here and the brush the opacity is set to 100 and size is at 12 and let's create some little bushes as you can see this fresco brush it's perfect for some really impressionistic type of bushes using little pressure to make them a bit lighter and that way they merge with that kind of sky that atmosphere in the back a bit i'm making circular motions and of course if you feel like they are a bit too opaque you can always just lower the opacity and go for something like seventy percent making them merge with that atmosphere even more to add even more to the grass i'd like to add a new layer on top of the trees layer so i can add some stuff in front of those trunks and this time we'll use where is that color um the cellar manga brush and i'll use this darker green color let's zoom in a little bit if my ipad wants to yeah this brush is also set to 100 opacity and the size is at 11 and i'm going to make the brush even smaller i'm going to make it six percent now we can make some upward strokes to create all the scents of grass to make some impressionistic looking grass adding to the texture [Music] of our grass i'll go in front of these trees a little bit covering them [Music] making these vertical little strokes upward they give a sense the idea of grass [Music] here on the foreground you can add some as well adding some slight texture we can even go a little bit darker by picking this third color right here and on the sides you can add some darker grass just make sure that you make vertical strokes going up because that's what really makes these strokes look like impressionistic grass you can make some patches of grass like this i won't be adding much grass to the center area because that's where i will add some light later on yeah i think that's looking good now let's add some leaves to our trees in the foreground and to these little bushes in the front and we'll use the hearts brush for that and you can find that under artistic here it is and for the color we will go back to this dark color which we used in the beginning and for our layer here is the layer menu for a layer let's just to be sure let's just create a new layer on top of this one that way you can always easily remove some of the leaves or move them around whatever you want it gives a little bit more control oh before i forget the opacity is at a hundred percent and the size is at four percent now let's just add some random leaves by creating some dabs and i'll add just a few because well it's fall leaves are starting to fall there's not many left so we'll just add a couple and let's add some here it's nice and impressionistic just make sure that you leave some gaps between the leaves and let's go a bit smaller with our brush to two percent for some of the leaves here on this bush i'll just follow these branches these bush branches that i've made and you don't have to attach each of these little leaves you don't have to attach them to the branches they can float around a little bit that doesn't matter and we'll do the same thing here on the left side just make random dabs for these little leaves if you are enjoying my you can draw this videos then there is a super easy way to support this channel all you have to do is subscribe and hit that bell next i would like to add our deer to the scene we can do that on top of all these other layers we can click the plus we will stick to this color and i will go to my animal brush set volume number one and use deer for like i said you can download this one for free through the link in the description it's very important that you have a new layer because that way we can just put the layer in and then go to the arrow and move it around now i want to move my canvas a bit so i'll have to hold one finger on the arrow to be able to move my canvas just to get a little bit more space and i'll make there a bit bigger do be sure that you have it set to uniform otherwise you will stretch the deer or make it really broad and it doesn't want that because yes it has feelings he wants to stand in a nice looking scene i think this is a great placement i think he's happy here make sure that his feet are touching the ground and that he's not floating i'll stick to this position or actually he will stick to this position now you can just click the arrow and you will be back right here and now we can add some magical lighting to our scene i'd like to add some light on the grass first and to do that i will make a layer on top of all these layers with the grass and the trees and the dark grass click the plus here and for our brush we will go to the painting brushes again they are right here and we will use the dry brush again not the dry brush the old brush we will use the old brush and for the color we will use this fourth color here in the color palette and let's add some light to that forest floor we are going to make the brush a little bit smaller let's say seven percent and let's add some yellow strokes here and keep them horizontal you can smear it around a bit [Music] this is where the light where the sunlight will hit the floor of the forest [Music] and now let's use one of procreate 5 axis new filters we'll go to the magic wand and use bloom and we will use it on the entire layer since this yellow that we just added it's on a single layer [Music] and now we can slide to the right with our pen and add to this glow it's at 50 right now and you can play around with the size of that glow and with the burn [Music] i'll go for something like this transition is to the max size at 26 and the burn is at 21 and the bloom in general is at 50.3 percent now all we have to do is add that sunlight that's coming from above we will do that on another layer which we will put on top of this one so click the plus again and for the brush we will go to the airbrushing brushes and use the soft brush but first i would like to lower the opacity of this brush a bit let's go to 40 and the color we will use is this one right here that very light yellowish color and let's make a stroke going down towards that light on the floor so making it's like making lines from the top to the bottom making it touch that forest floor and it feels kind of weird saying that because floor is actually my name my full name it's not flow it's actually floor chair let's make the brush a bit bigger seventeen percent and light up this top part but i actually i call myself flow because that's just easier to pronounce for most people [Music] you can also make the brush a little bit smaller let's say 10 percent and make some stray lights some light rays on the outer parts here even smaller five percent brush size and if you feel like this effect is a little bit too much then you can just go to the layer click that n and lower the opacity a bit let's just go to 83 and there you have created your magical forest scene i hope you have enjoyed following this tutorial if you did then do be sure to check out my other you can draw this videos as well or check me out on skillshare or patreon you'll find all the links in the description but of course you can also just start with these two videos over here thank you for watching
