What Technoblade Understood That Modern YouTubers Don't

technoblade was not just the best Minecraft Youtuber but the best Minecraft player that ever lived he cheered off tens of millions of people through his videos he raised hundreds of thousands of dollars just for charity and he was also just genuinely a good person I'm not going to act like he didn't cuz technoblade died exactly 2 years ago as I'm writing the script and that put a giant hole in the Minecraft Community forever he definitely didn't deserve the cancer he had but he definitely understood a few things that modern YouTubers just don't get and those things made him the best Minecraft Youtuber ever I'll start with his Minecraft skin he's a pig with a crown which is already extremely unique not many other players are even animals and he was in Minecraft he also didn't make this skin too simple having a crown and a royal jacket who's literally the king of Minecraft having a crown and suit to prove it this nons simplistic skin is the first thing modern Minecraft YouTubers get wrong blob skins you likely already know what blob Skins are they're literally skins with just one or two or maybe even three colors if that person is creative enough these are also very bright colors like orange blue white purple and especially green which is what dream uses Technic blade was the exact opposite his skin was complex and actually had texture to it not even to mention the crown and suit which also had a detailed backside to it and also off topic but am I the only one who thinks that moang should add a technoblade themed Cape to the game just for him and his friends that would be cool the next thing technoblade got right that modern YouTubers don't is editing you know how it is with 2024 editing the video has to be as optimized as possible with as many Cuts between scenes in the intro as possible and maybe even subtitles too also don't forget the loud and dramatic background music that likely either came from undertale or Super Mario Galaxy and okay I might be guilty of this in fact I might have done this in the intro of this video but it's kind of sad that I actually need to do this to hold people's attention you probably already know the retention situation on social media right now so I'm going to talk about why techno's editing is so great let's look at his last video before his passing for example let's watch the intro yo what up guys today we're playing Minecraft VR he literally greets the viewer which is what old YouTubers did but he didn't do it in a cringe way he wasn't like what's up guys welcome back to another crazy video he was more like yo what up guys calm and quick literally last less than a second what more could you want the next thing he does is restate the title of the video but add even more the title is the Minecraft VR experience but he says that he's going to play Minecraft VR in hardcore mode then he cracks a joke that hits every single time then he says some other stuff and plugs his merch now when other people plug merch they probably formatted like an actual ad saying stuff like do you want these cool clothes buy them now or whatever but technical blade does it perfectly he cracks another joke which again hits every time but that joke keeps the viewer watching the ad then the rest of the ad plays just repeating what happened in the first in the ad perfectly he doesn't even have background music in his videos which just adds to the humor he's just a really funny guy and he shows that in his videos technically editing is extremely unique but let's go to something else that he understood that modern Minecraft youtubers don't thumbnails now when I search up Minecraft look at this oversaturated thumbnails big bright text Simplicity but what technical got right is what I call a thumbnail art this is what animation YouTubers do they make a Minecraft video then just draw it pure art not even cubes or anything they just draw their own little cartoon characters and said it as the actual thumbnail it's not like this hurts the video cuz look at these view counts man and even on the video where techno came back after 2 years you can see the thumbnails just aren't if I scroll down to this part of his channel you can see that over half of the thumbnails aren't even Minecraft they're just 2D drawings and it works you can especially see this with the Great Potato war video because all three of them are 2D illustrations the final thing that I'll mention that techno God right and others don't is the commonest factor of his videos in only rare scenarios does he actually get excited like only when he's close to death which is imposs possible cuz technoblade Never Dies but anyway most of the time he's calm and the joke lands even harder like in 2024 look at YouTubers like Mr Beast where he's screaming into the intro at 1,000% volume just to keep the retention up but techno n he built different his lack of enthusiasm is just insanely funny imagine if someone in Minecraft said I'm going to murder someone with an ax which is funnier I'm going to murder someone with an axe or I'm going to murder someone with an axe now for reasons I quot was in Minecraft I'm not an ax mder IRL but the Comm one is just definitely better cuz you're just casually dropping the fact that you're going to murder someone with an act in Minecraft anyway thanks for watching donate
