[Vinesauce] Vinny - Zelda II Randomized: 2018 Run (part 1)

welcome to the yearly Zelda to stream someone said just like last year Zelda to Rando leading up to Thanksgiving we're doing it the up the randomizer has been updated and there's some interesting settings that I was able to check off and you know I love this game I can't help it so we're gonna do it hopefully this won't be as excruciating is the last one I just felt like doing something different you know I've been playing a lot of Red Dead a lot of Soul Calibur great games I'll do more of those next week but tonight Zelda - Rando and then we're also gonna do quake so quake and Mario world aren't very long games but um I got to get back to some Zelda you know I'm even thinking about an Oracle stream not right now but let's enjoy the music classic [Music] The Adventures of stink well it's just adventure hang on hang on music is a little weird isn't it increase the latency then fix it now didn't fix it was this happening last time - was i complaining about the [Music] [Applause] pops [Music] anyway Ganon was destroyed it's randomized I got some options set I got beam randomized shield color randomized I've got fast spell casting disabled low health beeps we've got only five palaces instead of six restart at palaces on GAMEOVER [Music] shuffle all experience needed meant magic effectiveness random attack effectiveness normal there's so many of these options shuffle spell locations shuffle life refill amount Oh a knight into that one shuffle palaces to swap consonants include Great Palace and shuffle we've got start with candle that's the only item I'm starting with so the settings are mostly like kind of normal not like overly hard but I modified some of the options anyway if you are ready we will be begin this is my um I've got linked in a different outfit as you'll see the yearly beginning of winter or close enough near an ER enough to winter [ __ ] feels like it at least and link is in a dark tunic [Music] someone says I guess it's just that vine sauce like Zelda - more than one I think I have more nostalgia for Zelda - but I acknowledge that one's a better game really really I'm starting in a [ __ ] graveyard and I'm shooting axes what are these things these are the things that the drug addicts throw oh my god oh I started with random amount of lives so I guess we're getting four lives that's pretty good that'll make the run go a little bit less painful if you watch my previous Delta - randomizer stream it was it was painful it was painful [Music] okay this is not [Music] the reason I say it was painful is because so many of the items I needed were just lost like no I wasn't able to find so many things in a decent amount of time I kept getting lost on the overworld the other problem was okay the other big problem for me was that I couldn't get the life spell in any reasonable amount of time okay really this dude this is like a mid game enemy any reason I have scanlines on I kept scanlines on kind of like loose like this is not heavy scanline just to get like kind of a classic crusty feel oh yeah this is a Zelda game with experience points for those that did not know [Music] no magic will go up no I'll save that for attack will go up want to get that attack up as soon as possible magic could be really effective if I level it or it could be complete [ __ ] [ __ ] the randomizer giveth and the randomizer taketh that's more of a late-game enemy [Music] gosh this should be easy no it's not [ __ ] you oh my god alright so we're getting thrown some [ __ ] hi Chad how are you it's how are you didn't say that earlier now's a good time to ask while I'm at my lowest I [Music] should have leveled up life well I had the chance so this is a bit of a nightmare scenario the good news is I can use it to level yesterday guy says a lot of poopoo words I gotta sit I gotta say so there's a lot of poopoo words but it was it was pretty [ __ ] crazy full 300 people dog my dick was so small at that moment that was basically the whole show now it was there's a little bit more to it than that but I didn't love all of it a lot of it was just stories but it was still oh nice glitched a lot of it was just stories of like him like at a Peep Show in Manhattan when he was growing up but it was still fun it was still fun [Music] I've watched a couple ring cowboy movies I'll tell you about them what else the new South Park was amazing [ __ ] classic [ __ ] some good Red Dead references I've got to start a new life puts on hat and coat goes to sit back down play video game unbelievable [Music] someone just said is to him like I said you know watch that oh there we go some magic Vinny of this game is as hard as me I don't want to know that Vinny have you wins L door before um yeah couple times I play this game every year but the randomizer like kind of breathed new life into it for me I feel like these randomizer streams of this game have proven to be like cuz I know where everything is for the most part I still get you know memory lapses but I do I like experience in the game as if it was the first time and these aren't even the most difficult randomizer settings I could make this forlorn if I wanted to I could really ruin my life okay so uh you know got magic how many spells then he would you play link to the past Super Metroid randomizer you know I don't like the look of it very much I think it's cool it's a neat idea I think it would be I know the runs of it take forever I would probably do a one-off stream of it and not try to do the whole thing because hoody and I were talking about at one point and a couple other people were like vignette it takes forever symphony of the night randomizer I don't think it randomizes the pass although I think it just randomizes the items oh yeah by the way chat there's gonna be flashing screens when I die there's no way to randomize that out sorry I also removed the beepings for when my life is low so I guess I'll just have to stop dying in the game [Music] yeah but right now I'm just trying to get a feel for where everything is sometimes you randomly stumble upon items and towns that have [ __ ] you need in the randomizer and I want to see if I can find maybe some spells before I start doing any dungeons no not you not you you so we know there's a palace up there that one is not one I want to attempt right now I'm still looking for a town any town would be great there's a chance that each town could have like a wizard in it or something game can't handle all these boomerangs I guess four five six seven seven [Music] epilepsy it's up there [Music] Watertown of Saria oh this is the bridge I need a letter too you know the funny thing is there's no [ __ ] water anywhere near this what town is this oh this is the harbor town of my toe this is where you get one of the thrusts so you have to check all the houses man the road it's [ __ ] ask error of Rudo about the palace Ellen Poulsen Sutton's a wrap there should be a spell in this town and a thrust but I don't know how far the randomizer goes I need jump to get up there so that's a free thing can't get it currently then II can we get an asthma warning in the title you might laugh so hard or so little that you will not breathe I need medicine yo you'll watch for so long you'll forget that you're alive and stop breathing [Music] it's gonna have a scorpion in it no this is the I think this is one of the caves early on it's hard to say everything is hmm oh this this is not a great layout swampy and a sea and come on just get me there before the yes okay another town that could be a good one could be could get jump there jump would be nice jump opens up a of opportunities game definitely can't handle this this is the other half of the water town eyes of Ganon are everywhere lost my mirror okay that's easy [Music] found a mirror under the table I probably say this every time I stream this game but there's a lot of NES isms like oh you need a mirror okay well how about this go into every house and press the button until you might find the mirror good luck stay a while and listen shield okay I got random shield color and it's just green it's it from dark green to light green [Music] you can also be Samus [Music] it's an de Simon Belmont and Samus and error are all randomizer options for this [Music] okay well I'm not town folk yet so I can't I mean this is a warp this essentially serves as a warp from one part of the map to the next which is kind of cool I just need to get the letter and then I can do it but who knows if I'll ever find the letter will I ever find error some of the [ __ ] isms have been removed from this as well I'll explain this is King's tomb so there's an option in the randomizer that's automatically checked for most of the things where it says here where is a overworld no hidden palace off hidden Kazuto off so there's two hidden things in this game and I turned them they're both off by default so I left them off which means you don't have to go you know looking for every bush that you come across to find a hidden town it's not that fun to say the least [Music] so here we go here's another town that's what I'm talking about yes all the towns I need them I need jump get me jump and health if I get jumping health I'd be really happy that would be a good early find this is the first town page you grew up with NES or SNES tell us something about your videogame past man my videogame past is very very well documented throughout my 4,000 or so we full sauce videos I am definitely a fan of redundancy if you watch enough of my stream you'll know you'll know that but I grew up with more I remember the SNES more than I remember the NES but I was born 85 the dude abides Thunder Wow okay that's too early for that I was born 85 so I had an NES and I played NES games mainly this one punch-out Mario one two and while one and two in particular and Zelda one so I played a lot of NES but the SNES is more of my favorite system and and the games that I grew up with on that system are the ones that I I holds more dear oh god it's Death Mountain fog fog this [Music] I need a hammer if I'm gonna do that now this [ __ ] layout is a mess town of Route oh I guess ocarina of time fans the 20th anniversary is upon us you'll probably recognize the names of these towns I need you here about star field in the elder scrolls six will be on the same Krusty Engine yep I need the trophy for this one so Todd said that they're gonna continue upgrading the gamebryo engine because they like it and you know people are defending Todd and saying well you know it makes sense it's cheaper than developing a new engine bam bam bam this is real you can look it up I hate to be so cynical I hate to just continuously be the bearer of bad news but lately we've been getting a lot of [ __ ] bad news and yeah they're going to be using the same engine [Music] it's one thing here's the thing it's one thing to upgrade your engine because you know a lot of developers do that but there are so many better engines that have help available and you know literature that you can refer to and all that fun stuff and the engine that they have just has some inherent like flaws and it's really ugly what is this encounter at least we get to have more funny glitches well here's the thing if I'm playing a game like starfield I don't want more glitches I say that as a piece of the top of the tree glitches out I want to like be immersed I want to enjoy the game world I want to you know I really want to I want to get into it [Music] don't really have a lot of magic yet so it's not worth me upgrading Matt it's not worth me upgrading magic just yet again when health is so close upgrading health is a priority yeah it's easy to mod that they understand it they said in their statement that they understand the engine they can work quickly in it it's just again man I'm not I'm not saying they can't do that obviously they're gonna do it it's just so like it just feels like stop you know I don't know a lot about a lot of things I know a little bit about a couple things but I do know that fallout 76 still has a lot of the same glitches it still looks ugly in a lot of respects some of it looks decent the lighting is nice and you know I just wouldn't mind if they made a new engine or used unreal or something by the way this is like what the next six or seven eight years of their release schedule I thought the reason that fallout 76 was happening was so that they can you know work on a new engine for their new games you know just something to keep us tied over held over tied it over in the meantime but so now they're doing same engine oh well it's just baffling it's just baffling man so what else can we talk about wasn't there a couple other things there's some other things that happen right and in the world of the video game in the world of us gamers Kirby DLC oh that sucks I was just about to level up I didn't realize I had that few lives chat is this life system glitched or am i genuinely losing that many lives I am losing that many lives okay just checking just checking wasn't sure it's freaking out a little bit I'm good Kirby DLC looks great I'm probably gonna stream that I hope that like I said on the other stream the other night I hope that the Kirby DLC has some new levels I think that's confirmed still considering Spyro to stream a little bit of it I don't know yet I'm not like I said I don't have a lot of Spyro nostalgia and at the moment I'm enjoying revisiting some classics so I probably won't stream Spyro but I think people said it was good it's just the gems when you collect the gems it doesn't go into the bag remember that that visual that's not that's not there anymore this [ __ ] thing is supposed to be worth a lot more XP than it actually is one of the reasons this is happening is I have an option checked called shuffled big enemies and small enemies which means that these areas here are supposed to only have the small enemies and instead we're getting big [ __ ] up ones oh [Music] that's the medicine okay now I can bring the medicine back to that lady [Music] I'm just gonna get my another palace is the town I don't know what Chum that was Palace is this you can't really tell by the color palette you can only really tell but when you get in okay this is like three or four Tsar Jesus okay this isn't medicine area there's another town that I needed medicine for try to get there oh there's the hammer area [ __ ] there's the cave this is oh this is [ __ ] man 8 that's 9 I think god Joe I need health [Music] yeah we're good yeah the tunnel goes to the other towns I need to go through this tunnel and then I need to get the medicine to that lady and then I should get a spell hopefully it'll be jumped so I can get the other spell then he relaxed you said it was easy remember explained God this should be easy no it's not oh that so didn't intend to understand the implication of having a woman invite you into her house for healing she's a medicine woman and if anyone says that that woman is a prostitute then congratulations you are thinking what everyone else thought in nineteen eighty seven or eight or whenever this came out that was the joke forever I mean it looks exactly like that sell the two had the hot coffee mod hot it's it's good extended viewing if you're playing Red Dead at the moment you want cowboys and at Unforgiven movie with Clint Eastwood I said was was excellent Maximum Overdrive isn't that the movie there's a small mercy just small but here this could be a good one now I have I have the medicine if I give this medicine and I get jumped then I can go to the other town and get the other thing and this is 50 hits on the lowest sword level and I'm second lowest sword level currently so strap in everybody could be worth 200 points man if it's worth 200 points then it'll be worth it if it's worth supposed to fight these dudes until way later on in the game but randomizer randomizer you're supposed to level up your sword more than once before you ever fight one of the blue iron knuckles 150 I think that's how much they're worth normally that's not special it's not all that great [Music] it's fine the red ones are worth 200 so I'll just try not to kill the blue ones if I if I can avoid that the other side of the map so there's some benefits to this let me think about this where where should I be going maybe death Mountain maybe be Death Mountain if I could avoid doing Death Mountain at this present moment that would be great we're doing Death Mountain I don't have a hammer but I have to find one this could be the key to eternal life a jolly stroll through Death Mountain dress mount it's just I guess people want the book on their lap but then cell phones kind of came along and even eliminated the need for that but I had a number of guides that I really liked that I would read at the dinner table over and over and over again I had the guide for and I've told this on stream but here's here's a fun one I've had the guide for Mario RPG and I named a known Mario RPG I was able to like replay the game vicariously through the guide I had only rented it and I don't know why I had the guide maybe it was a gift it's a really tom gift [Music] thoughtful but unfortunate gifts if it in fact was one I think I had the Soul Calibur to guide which for a fighting game you know it tells you the moves but I remember I was in was in the store I think of Toys R Us with my cousin and it was like a rack of guides and he thought it was take one for free so he just took one on the way out and we just walked out with a like a $20 players guide now I I don't think that was an accident this is not something I can ever confirm and chances are he will not remember this but I have a soul calibur 2 players guide for that reason [Music] many why are you not grabbing the red potion aren't they health options oh no no no no they're not actually if they fill magic these potions only fill magic red pills all of it blue fill some of it and I don't have there's no health drop in this game which is really weird for a Zelda game but yeah there's no health drops so you need to have the life spell that you can use yourself like I get why people don't like this game I get why it's it shunned by a lot of the Zelda community I don't agree with it I like it but I don't really treat it as a Zelda game I treat it as Zelda - it's like a different thing it always was and I was too young important but it'll still probably take less time for me to do all this then to do an actual Zelda 2 playthrough but I have to see what that bridge is about real quick bomb here this is the maze ok alright let's let's check this out there's um there's stuff here it's safer here Red Dead when probably next week and trying to space it out but also I wanted to want to stream some stuff that would maintain my interest because while I'm doing a lot of newer games I like to revisit stuff like me deciding to stream this was like oh I want to do another Zelda to randomize stream and there's a couple other randomizers that I haven't done ever that I'd like to check out but for now let's see if this ends up taking less or more time than previous years randomized Zelda - I think I have to just do a save state because it won't in order to get the same screen I have to link has to die which can be arranged [Music] vini I'm still looking forward to your next Monster Hunter generations stream Monster Hunter when Final Fantasy 7 remake comes out so look forward to it then but no I think I'd probably end up streaming it if more Monster World like if world 2 came out or if I just
