[Music] enough [Music] uh welcome to the second stream of one one twenty one it's legend of zelda randomized [Music] and i'll explain why i'm doing this in a moment please look up the manual for details so randomizer versions 3.4.1 and uh you may know me as the streamer who completed the legend of zelda 2 randomizer several times in fact but did you know that that this game exists as well it's it's really quite astounding um hang on a second i just want to double check that sound is good should be good yeah so i'll tell you what's randomized in just a second um lots of stuff it's not going to be easy but i did make it a little easier for myself like oh that noise oh god that noise um only this tonight chad so why am i starting here i don't like starting here that's that's not good well uh you don't start with a sword but i did make it so i start with bombs and five hearts we have everything huh well one heart now but um i'll just give you a quick overview like so the randomizer i have set on intermediate rooms and enemies are shuffled still shaped like the first quest but there's also dungeon rooms are shuffled which is going to be a nightmare shuffle shop items extra candles level nine entry is like seven triforce pieces instead of um eight so i start with one so i'm giving myself one buffer meaning there if one dungeon is a complete [ __ ] mess i can skip it that and also starting with bombs is going to help and some extra hearts uh the white sword has been randomized how much health you need for the sword upgrade is randomized uh enemy hp is plus or minus two so enemies could be kind of annoying or less annoying we have dungeon green link tunic and i think that's about it oh oh oh there's a book now that's magic replace book fire with explosion i don't know what that means entirely but that should be fun so i guess we'll see how this goes uh first things first i need to find a [ __ ] sword which could be anywhere that there's an opening chat sorry monsters between levels shuffle enemy groups no i don't believe their behavior is randomized but i guess we'll find out but yeah any of the items can be in any of the dungeons they could be elsewhere usually what i do when i play zelda one is i go for all the um the caves that are available without bombs but since we have bombs bombs we should be able to do um a couple more things right off the bat [Music] all right let's see if we can do that the triforce pieces are all at the end of the dungeon the boss at the end of the dungeons though are randomized randomized so i don't know what we're gonna get each dungeon could be most difficult boss or easy boss we don't we don't know [Music] so uh yeah the rupees that don't flash are worth those rupees are worth five this is level two okay so dungeon dungeon two level two is here strange [Music] let me show you a little secret chat did you know about the secret i'm sure most of you have played this now about to see walk this way but what annoying when they get kind of laggy but yeah no this isn't my first time randomizing but the the randomizer has gotten an update you are not the father oh god there's going to be some good ones aren't there we've already seen a kappa [Music] but yeah enemies can be weaker or stronger than their actual counterparts so i don't know what variation of enemies we're gonna get [Music] um nor do i remember the exact amounts but you can randomize the amounts so that it's like ludicrous this is not ludicrous this is pretty standard [ __ ] isn't there is there a bombable wall here chat or is that this way [Music] yeah enemy group randomization i didn't realize how annoying this would be but boy is it boy howdy boy howdy gotta get past a bunch of lionel's [Music] and then one octo rock i need to save up 250 rubies so that i may get the um there's there's a armor upgrade [Music] someone in chad said hey vinnie uh is john slow on the uploads well it's new year's day um john is a is a human and he he uploaded them about 20 minutes ago so they're up you um i know you weren't trying to be mean or anything or not mean but like you know you weren't you wouldn't presume you wouldn't presume but yeah i mean there's sometimes there's gonna be some delayed don't feed gannon after midnight minus six rupees it's a gamble house good gamble really good gamble and i'm done gambling no more gambling there oh my god well what am i gonna do um i need another hundred and something rupees then i can get the armor but we're just gonna keep looking for um locations i don't remember all of the secret locations but each one gives us the opportunity to find something particularly valuable like what could be in here for example you are not the father again 40 rupees [Music] so i need a candle if i'm gonna burn down some bushes and get more items there's a lot of burnable bushes in this game some of which are progression i think one's right there shouldn't there be [Music] hang on a second there should be oh it's not here it's elsewhere but yeah there should be a um a store [Music] let's see have you watched twin peaks if so what's your opinion about it um i watched the first season and i had a really hard time continuing watching it and people loved that show i just didn't i didn't and i like lynch and i want to like weird [ __ ] it wasn't enough that first season maybe i didn't pay enough attention to it maybe i just didn't fall into it but i just didn't i want to be like jay bauman and enjoy it but i cannot one day i'd like to give it another shot and watch the movie in season two as well but for now it was a failed experiment on my part and i'm aware that season three is really good what are you what are you doing here maybe i show the octorock the thing like the chat oh dungeons can be i guess [ __ ] anywhere also i never understood why this was a thing anyone aware of this how like after you activate the statues there would be an alternate entrance into the dungeon this for like 20 about 25 minutes or so let's do a dungeon all right here we go i think the rooms in the dungeons themselves are also randomized which yeah you know maybe not my best idea i've ever had [Music] cool [ __ ] room cool room of [ __ ] need the flute yell into the mic then you know this doesn't have that functionality chat you can stab them yeah but this this doesn't kill them though right i need arrows to kill them or the recorder it does kill them it just takes [ __ ] forever [Music] wow okay that room so bats have more hp they they got an extra hit oh wow okay a heart a full [ __ ] heart these got less hp and are now like just [ __ ] enemies so wow this dungeon randomizer is nuts like we're getting weird sand rooms [Music] what the hell is going on [Music] no okay so the boomerang does not work on bats i think i know why because bats are programmed to die in one hit and since they're not um dying in one hit the boomerang just has no effect i don't know how that works exactly but i believe that to be the case can i wish rob's already truly the worst [ __ ] combination are the things that steal your sword and anything else [Music] scummy wall masters too [Music] all right turns out i needed to just defeat every enemy in the room [Music] this is like a very late game enemy chat [Music] very very very late game enemy bad bad oh my god and i'm gonna go back in here and uh defeat the last wall master and see if anything drops [Music] nope all right let's take a look at the map well it's still shaped like dungeon 2. the rooms are different um i may not need keys these are keys by the way but not that i mean keys because some of these doors seem to go into other rooms that are open already so that's a small mercy may the bombs be forever in your favor don't know what that means or why it costs costs 96 rupees the hint system it's designed to be helpful [Music] that was a bomb capacity upgrade so i have to come back here for a bomb capacity upgrade and that's a quote from the hunger games [Music] all right well i don't have that so maybe i'll just try to remember that they're here i think i'm gonna need these bombs to get any further that'll do it [Music] what the [ __ ] is this room we're just gonna run through that room [Music] do do rooms randomize upon death no looks like they stay consistent try bombing the room on the right instead you may have a point yep that works and i don't need to use a key [Music] shouldn't have randomized enemy hp it's a bigger issue than the random enemies well it's within a range of plus or minus two so you're not wrong um but i i could have some enemies with less health [Music] there's the map isn't there a secret room up there oh candle nice all right double check and see if there's a secret room compass no this is a good candle too so i don't have to waste my time with the blue candle which means i could just buy the bomb upgrade this was the perfect dungeon to start with even if it got a little nasty with the wiz robes and the cheese whiz getting crazy with the cheese worlds an actual back lyric in that voice precisely that voice [Music] is i don't know what's happening why did it teleport me into a different room chat [Music] oh the triforce is in that room i think that might be the boss [Music] fire does some pretty good work on the [Music] bats it looks like that's that's the triforce piece yeah this maybe this is the boss [Music] [Music] hmm the fire wasn't working on that enemy so yeah i need i need 96 rupees for that vinnie have you ever tried composing chiptunes no not really i mean a little bit but i i was never any good at it i did just find like four or five ancient demos of some stuff from fruity loops including two that are pretty much just like i mean i was never really happy with them but they're close enough to be done i might release them someplace sometime they're nothing special but and a couple riffs too so just i was like digging through some stuff i was looking for a particular song and i couldn't find it but i found a bunch of other [ __ ] but um yeah there was there was a chiptune attempt at one point [Music] for the record you're not really supposed to fight this enemy with the what the sword that you have now like you get a better you get better swords so this is just pure [ __ ] [Music] no it can be done and i believe this has a triforce piece a couple extra hearts would be great these little hershey squirts don't actually drop hearts i don't think oh they oh whoa i'm happy to be wrong [Music] do i'll try two more times and then i'm going to uh come back if i need to but first [Music] first i'm gonna farm some health maybe [Music] i guess never mind all right never mind the farming of the health burn some bushes yeah i mean this is really close to my spawn point so i'll try just one more time and then i'll come back if i can get one hp that would help though one heart see all right don't they respawn if you leave oh really addicted to it and nothing was in it wasn't it very toxic um i mean depending on who you lit in your server or like how do you know who you let in your server you know sometimes people just show up and you have to learn who they are later but no it's it i mean just depends on on the people on the pipolis [Music] but it was fun even with some of the you know people acting like idiots it and boba fett i think and django i think he's good it was weird at first hearing the you know the boba fett kiwi stuff but then i actually like it more now so like i'm not so much of a star wars purist where everything has to be exactly as it was but there are some things i'd prefer that weren't changed [Music] uh bobby from the expanse is a kiwi she's a good character [Music] kiwis in general i think are the best kiwis are good just in terms of like nice you know what i mean like just nice people nice birds as well nice fruit weebles quibbles are all right too [Music] chad i don't remember if there's a burnable bush here this game gets like cryptic as [ __ ] [Music] some of this is so ingrained in my memory from childhood that i can still kind of remember where the burnable stuff is um having played this game you know dozens and dozens of times and then other things not so much then there's also some secrets that i just never discovered when i played this game and years later people were like vin did you know there's a thing there my thing what thing how could there be more secrets in this game and there were when's the last time you played this um i did a randomized run of this a couple years back um i don't think i've played the vanilla game in a while but i've streamed zelda one before and uh i remember when the gamecube collection came out getting the shield dog remember when the gamecube collection by the way one of the best if you just take it at face value for pre-order wind waker get majira's mask zelda one and two and ocarina of time on one disc for free maybe one of the best deals in gaming history as far as i'm concerned from my perspective the jedi are evil i still have that too yeah i [ __ ] cherish that that is uh collectible and then nintendo goes and has the gall to release three mario games [Music] for 60 dollars with almost no anything better slight slight improvements at best i apologize in advance for the seed [Music] that's pretty good you gotta get the heart though you can't not get the heart [Music] let's see what happens though i mean you know i'm playing this this is the year of zelda's 35th uh anniversary chat you wallet captive sometimes not for everything like i said i didn't buy the most recent pokemon i didn't you know there's games of theirs i still don't buy but um when it comes to zelda and mario these [ immediately is a huge improvement as far as i'm concerned from the original so it seems like it's gonna be a faster experience overall and um that's cool it not that it was a huge it was not that it was like a slow game but it i i noticed like the game speed felt just a little bit slower than the usual mario 3d antics i'm not old you're old wow i am but that's a cool item to get there the ladder write songs that i want to write i'm not going to like i'm not going to sit down and be like i need to write an album of grunge an art form that is not really art form but you know a style that isn't really used very much nor do i want to write a full album like that but it just so happens i've amassed a collection of songs that i haven't released over the past two that sound kind of grungy and uh and therefore will be released next time you know what i mean like it's one of those things where why put the grunge song on an acoustic album or an electronic sounding album that would be dumb and like in your dumb you know what i mean one of those things [Music] genres yes it's like when people called my um my song stay in bed commercial core that was my favorite everything's core i was very very confused by that one chat yeah i thought it was just called pop but yeah i mean commercial core sure vine core it took that long to find like seven rupees [Music] damn well not much i can do with that right now [Music] but if i get the wand that'll be really good so we checked the graveyard we checked a lot of burning bush spots there's a couple more spots i can think of that i haven't checked get um the definition of commercial core costco core it's pop that you sell well i'm not trying to get it in a commercial if that's what you mean it's just um an acoustic song that's kind of catchy but i've sold it so that that must count for something right [Music] [Music] music we humans are absolutely obsessed with the cataloging and labeling of everything that's why i just call red vox rock at this point music that plays during commercial trying to sell you something by giving you a specific vibe to make people want to spend their money on you that's a lot of people i mean if you think about what pop music is that it's that's a lot of different type of music over the years and uh i suppose see i'm just trying to learn oh [ __ ] level six dungeon i'm here i might as well give it a shot maybe there's a sword upgrade in one of these but um yeah i didn't actually write that song because i wanted to sell it though you know like if if part of the definition is that you have to write that with that in mind then that's that's not how that came about i was just noodling on the guitar and i liked it i think i might have even heard the melody in a dream too i don't remember but yeah well thank you for informing me that this is a thing that people have described i guess [Music] dream core yeah genres are weird and like again i've i've done this as a little bit on stream and like i get people wanting to classify and understand what the music is and have a name for it and um that said though some people have gotten kind of snobby about it and it gets kind of annoying um when people like no vinnie it's this why don't you listen to death core metal pop and like i'm like i've never even heard of that genre and it's like then i could throw a go on wikipedia and throw like 60 genres that you've never heard of at you so you know it kind of just i think if you um get really really specific about cataloging what music sounds like it can get like the rabbit hole can go so deep that you're just gonna be miserable that's my opinion on that at least [Music] one of my most hated enemies in the game what about planet core that's the only rock i listened to [Music] bad dungeon left it in the second room [Music] the thing is though there could be a progression item or a sword upgrade in here as well well i'm not ready to go back in there truthfully that's gonna be later um link was was uh i know it was designed for western audiences because people weren't buying wind waker but i still think it's a it's a good adult link version that and the the wrecking ball is one of my favorite zelda items even if it's like only used a little bit just to crush some stuff not because it's a useful or a clever item particularly it's just i don't know it's just kind of fun [Music] the spinner was only cool for like that one boss fight and then like a couple spots on the world map but uh yeah twilight princess is is great it's a great game and i don't understand why it gets [ __ ] i think it's aged better it's aged uh pretty well and with the hd version on the wii u if anyone's played that it's really good on there and the bloom has been knocked back quite a bit from the wind waker remake so i think twilight princess would be a great addition to the switch library that particular version that and uh wind waker hd should i've said it a million times but it'll be great how do you feel about link between worlds both on its own and as a link to the past successor uh both really great i i love that game and i would like to play it again one day because i've only played it once and since link to the past is one of my favorite games i'm not getting that boomerang that's the jay boomerang i don't need that [ __ ] but yeah since link to the past is one of my favorite games link between worlds had a lot to live up to and i think it did really really well and the wall mechanic is one of the best zelda mechanics [Music] in a classic zelda game so i like that game a lot but
