here we're going to talk about cargo Landing Baye docks how to find your custom colors and keep your ship looking good engine thrust you won't have to worry about cargo how much cargo you can carry and how you really won't have to worry about that landing gear how important it is and everything else you need to know I remember being so disappointed the first time I tried to build a ship in Starfield this was the feature that I was looking forward to the most in the game and after spending about 5 hours just sitting there building my first ship I found that just about everything I wanted to do it just wouldn't let me do the biggest misconception that I had and for a long time that just killed it for me and maybe this was just me was that I thought you could only have four engines well obviously that's not the case um yeah more on that in a few so do not let your first attempt at building turn you off because really I found I could do all I wanted and more storage capacity for instance bugged me at first for how unrealistic it was for the size and mass of the storage compartments yeah well that becomes just total complete complete non-issue the first error that I kept coming up against was the error telling me that my Landing Bay wasn't connected to the cockpit I just couldn't figure this out and I wasted hours in the ship Builder not figuring this one out wasting building time and running fewer and fewer modules until I was thinking that it could only go together one way and that everything had to link up just so this couldn't be further from the truth in fact Hab modules add more hole which is good than similar structure pieces technically the more Hab modules the better but I like to keep those simple a well-designed and intuitive flow on the inside of your ship is absolutely key so regarding connecting the cockpit to The Landing Bay now here I have it pretty simple on this ship and simple really kind of is the key I mean because for instance with this Landing Bay because it has a ladder that goes up to a piece right here that connects directly to the cockpit when you climb up the ladder from The Landing Bay you are already you're facing the cockpit and you can hop right in the pilot seat and that's always cool schol it's definitely not necessary whatsoever but here's the key I mean this one's right over the landing Bay but you can have it anywhere and here's a key to keeping these connected so there's two types of connections on pieces let's go to Habs and you can see this here you can see all the points at which pieces will connect but this is something I didn't realize for a little time afterward is that there's two kinds of these there's regular ones which you don't see here and then there's ones with arrows on them the arrows indicate entrances into that passage I think we can see this better if I go to Bay now just as a side note right now I'm at the ship builder at my Outpost as your Outpost ship Builder will allow you all the basic parts from what there's for manufacturers I believe it will provide you all the basic parts from the manufacturers but none of the special parts or unique parts so just as a side note your Outpost is a good place to build if you want parts from stout hope uh Nova damos Ando so I guess there's five if you want all the basic parts from all the manufacturers as you can see the ship is a mix of all of them uh but if you're looking for Unique stuff or really powerful stuff for instance the engines on this ship are don't appear here the powerful reactor I have doesn't appear here anyway just as a side note we're at the uh so the landing Bay this is a better representation here you can see snap points here and here and up here but there's only one entry way and that's designated by the arrow that's really important to note when you're just starting off ship building so that's what we're starting here and that is key to connecting your cockpit to The Landing Bay I say that because I had that error so many times this Landing Bay this is the one I'm using and it's got a ladder up there and this is good because it puts you up on the second deck allowing your bottom deck to be used for landing gear and things like that and this can more this can better put you right in the cockpit but it depends on your ship design so we can place this now to connect this to a cockpit just got to make sure that the arrows line up so we can go over to hals and here just just grab this so as long as the arrow here lines up with the arrow here it will keep your continuity fluid that was a big problem I had when I first started ship designing it cost me a lot of time trying to figure out why isn't the cockpit connected because I was doing something like connecting this here or something and let's get us a cockpit let's pick a unique cockpit try to save some time here let's pick one with a unique Connecting Point which is going to be oh not here because it's specific to a certain Spaceport well then we'll just pick a basic one all right so this one only has now this bottom Point here uh that actually will snap to a structure piece I'm not yeah you can probably put weapons there too or a structure piece a lot of cockpits have that on the bottom but you can't put a piece under them as an FYI that's why a lot of these cockpits just drive me nuts I was you know maybe trying something like here like this that won't work because the only entry way though that has a snap point on the bottom the only entry entryway is right here and this configuration that would work this would work and if you told me that when I was starting ship building I wouldn't have believed you I'd be like no way that won't work actually this won't work because we need something my bad see what I mean it can be easy to miss that way see there we go that way the doorway here connects to this have module and this front doorway here connects to the cockpit this would work and that's basically the same setup I have right here it's a very easy one because when you climb up the ladder first of all the ladders always face starboard ladders face the cyboard side and when you climb off a ladder you always turn to face um to your left so you climb up the ladder you're going to turn left and you're facing the cockpit this is the easiest build but anyway just know that when connecting your pieces and that's going to make everything just a whole lot easier right there and that was the first thing that was tripping me up so I talked some about the landing base with the ladder this right here just kind of my most used Landing Bay this hope for landing Bay um mostly just because I like the way it looks it looks good for an Inc Senor ship it's it's like a huge maw of the ship just opening up and it lights up red you know it just looks so cool and menacing um now it has a ladder that's not always desirable in ship design now with the landing gear that I'm using here and I'm going to talk about landing gear in a bit and you're going to see me I'm going to go change out some of these landing gear because right now this ship is at about a capacity for the landing gear it has I'm going to be switching to this landing gear here so I'm going to go change some of these out and I have to go to a special place to do that you'll I'll do that later in this video anyway but there are for other ship designs see for me it's good to have this lower level free for use of landing gear I have some Hab modules down here as you can see um but I want it free for lots of landing gear the ship is very massive with a mass of 4219 and it's only going to get more massive as I add more storage but sometimes you may for your ship design may want to enter straight in then there's a great landing Bay for that so here's all the basic Landing Bays actually this might be all of them at least all that I've seen so here we have this one now this has just has a door straight in now something to keep in mind with these is you can flip them and I didn't know this for the longest time I don't always I when I started building ships I wasn't always looking for the flip button and yeah so this is not just a front entrance you can also go to the rear that said I prefer front ship entrances because well this ship is massive it's it's really big it's not even close to the maximum size but it's still big when you park at spaceports you generally park with the nose of your ship facing where you want to go if you have your your Landing Bay in the back of the ship say you land at Kila City new Atlantis any of the Cities neon you're going to have to run all the way around your ship to the back to get in front and side ones technically are more convenient overall now this one allows you to walk straight in keep in mind that's going to mean your main deck is the bottom deck it's going to limit how much landing gear you can have and still have room to move around in so it's all a matter of how that particular ship is designed there's two I think that have one a door like that a front one and a side one which I think is the Stroud one um where's the side one there it is and yeah it's a stoud Eckland and yeah it's a straight door in the side these can be cool they definitely have style I think they have style Factor because it's just like walking up the stairs and just walking right into your ship yeah just even though technically they're the same you click and you go in um this has style to it all right now concerning docks docks were one of the things that I found very limiting early in ship building because when I picture spaceships I picture I don't know something like this I suppose I spent a long time designing this one but I have many other ships of varying designs I only have three with me now I I've sold my other designs here's another one that I've designed I like ships with yeah lots of protruding structures and big industrial segments things like you see in Sci-Fi movies or here we have this one this was my first like really super original ship design and here you see a very yeah it's a it's a cargo hauler and I made it look like a freight ship and this was my first really cool design so with irregular designs like this I I wasn't sure quite how to put the dock for the ship because of an early misconception that I had and that misconception came from building my ship at new Atlantis which is the first place I tried it it's probably the first place a lot of people try building a ship and there was only two docks available there I think maybe three and they were all top docks at least so I thought again let's go there again here comes into play flipping now here's all the basic docks you can get and you can access these at your Outpost but at uh new Atlantis you have this one and this one and I think just those two unless there's a damos one yeah so you have the damos one the slim Docker and this Nova one are only available only ones available in new Atlantis and so I thought it I thought it had to be on top of the ship and I found this extremely limiting because I like to like here I have this big fake like radar dish looking thing I don't know I just wanted some kind of cool protrusion I'd like to have cool irregular protrusions on my ships to kind of break up some of the shape of course I like to have you know a shape but I didn't want to have a restriction to a flat top and I thought these were the only kind of docks you could have and if you look at this dock well you can't flip it and so it's like well I found this extremely limiting and almost turned me off of ship building cuz I wanted to build cool stuff with no limits if you remember my my cargo hauler the which it it's not a cargo hauler by This ship's standards but at the time for a class B ship it absolutely was it held a lot of cargo and for the engines I could have it was about the best I could do now this thing well it says 7290 cargo but I'll talk about this later this actually holds well over 9,000 with my skills and this is not even breaking a sweat as you can see it has 100 Mobility it carries over 9,000 cargo without even breaking a sweat more on engine and cargo later docs this ship right here uses the slim Docker which you can find it new Atlantis and it looks like this now I didn't see much point in it I found this extremely limiting at first cuz I was like well that just means I can't put anything on top of my ship yeah I didn't notice the obvious again I mentioned flip this is the only thing you can put I should mention underneath the ship you can't put anything below the landing gear except this and so that is solved like this boom simple as that and actually I need to move this because the ladder inside my Habs has moved and that's a topic for a different conversation uh the interior of the ship and that's a different video um because my interior has changed the configuration of the ladders we're going to move this over here so here I have it right next to the landing Bay which this kind of Landing Bay with the ladder this is not as convenient but with the ones that go straight in this is incredibly convenient because you would walk straight in and there's your your dock that's incredibly convenient on this ship where we're going to want to have this cuz where my ladders are currently is actually right here because currently this is where my ladder is inside so this way the the dock lines up with my interior ladder that goes between deck one and two and this ship as big as it is only has two dot uh two decks two levels in it which I try to keep it nice and simple as I can anyway this dock right here is incredibly useful so if you if you value freedom of design if you want freedom of design over everything this dock right here boom I wish I had know this at the beginning this lets you put complete freedom for the ship because the Dock's out of the way no worries at all that said a lot of these can be flipped this one can't be but keep an eye out for them because a lot of them can this one can be you can have a port or starboard um there's a front one that can go can it go front or rear uh where's it at no it can only go on the front but a front one can be cool if you have a ship with a long oh you probably wouldn't want a rear one anyway because of the engines uh a front one could be really handy and part of the feature of the ship a lot of ships have big braking engines on the front well in instead of like a big braking engine protruding and I've done this before in ships you can just slap one of these in there it looks cool and it's out of the way it can actually be not only out of the way but also a design contribution to your ship you know so docks are not something to worry about as I thought they were at first and you can always just do what I did here and just slip it underneath it's the only thing that can go underneath the gear and since it can go underneath the gear here and since nothing can go past the dock this is the most effective place to put it another thing I found limiting when I first started building ships was cockpits and you don't see a whole lot of cockpits if you look here at your selection at The Outpost because these are just the generic uh deos hope Nova stoud Taio do uh cockpits I wanted to build my cockpit into the ship do cool things well rest assured there are all the cool cockpits you can't get here you can find cool cockpits if as big as there's one you can get that's uh three blocks wide and two stories tall there's one bridge I have and that's this one I believe that's the overseers bridge here on the Siberia and that one is really unique because you enter it from the bottom that's a cool um bridge style cockpit there's actually two more like this and those I haven't found where to get I haven't found everything in the game I'm level 40 I haven't seen all there is to see for instance this ship right here at the time this is a Class B ship at the time it was the most powerful biggest ship I could build but on cockpits there's there's two more of these Bridge types you can have like this that are bigger there's one it's a stout ekland that I had it's it's actually way wider it's about a block and a half wide and has six creu seats in it in addition to the Violet seat it has six other seats it's absolutely massive these style you can only enter from the bottom so it's kind of go back to how I talked about connecting pieces right those other two Bridges I've seen I don't know where to find them at look forward to finding those in the game I've this has all been a learning process of finding things along the way that said as long as I talk about finding stuff so each um each Spaceport has unique pieces that you can only get at that Spaceport so there's some custom pieces I want for this ship namely landing gear as its mass gets greater I need bigger landing gear like this landing gear here and I'll talk about landing gear when I get there because I'm going to go replace These Guys these are stoud ekland landing gear and they have very basic uh weight capacity as you can see these are much bigger if I go much over my mass which we're going to once I start adding more storage um these have to be replaced it's either that or buy more landing gear landing gear is one of the most limiting things it's one of the most important things that in engines it will come into play as your ship gets more massive and your ship will get more massive so when we climb with the landing Bay we're already facing the cockpit very handy so let's go get some better landing gear for this and yeah there we're going to have to go someplace else to get uh custume landing gear so always keep in mind definitely fly from port to port and keep in mind what you can get where and as you level up occasionally check back different places these engines for instance that you're seeing right now these engines only became available in the high level 30s mid to high level 30s and I'll talk about engines later but I wouldn't have known if had I just been buying stuff at my Outpost I never would have seen them because they don't appear at The Outpost all right so we're going to fly to one of the places that sells unique pieces you find it early in the game so it's it's really no big deal I'm trying to keep this spoiler free but this is not a big deal I'm sure everyone earlier in their journey is going to go to Soul because well that's where we live right and soul is the home to uh oh I was just fighting so I need to put some power in My Graph Drive soul is the home to um well Titan that's where we're going we're going specifically at the Titan the Titan Spaceport uh allows you to buy big landing gear and a big cockpit as well as some big Hab modules it's one of I found two space ports that sell big Hab modules all right so here at new Homestead we talk to this guy sure how about it and let's upgrade our landing gear because we're going to need it now the thing with landing gear let's go to the ship Builder there are three kinds of landing gear and this is something I did not know early on here we have this kind of gear right here I have this just on the side right here because this is just kind of like a side portion of the ship for a while this didn't have any landing gear on it but I thought it looked better if it had some so I have these little guys now with landing gear you want to look at the Lander thrust I didn't even know that was a I didn't even know when I started building ships Lander thrust one and I don't know what the ratio is but the more mass your ship has you need more thrust of course it makes sense right of course it makes sense I just didn't I didn't think about it at first there's a lot of things like that I just didn't think about then you have your landing gear like this right here Lander thrust 2 and this is what most of the landing gear that you see will have new Homestead is unique in that it has this landing gear with a Thrust of four see this is one of those things first of all landing gear is very important because as your ship gets more massive and your ship will get more massive because simply on a ship like this simply for instance the Reactor with a mass of 2 these storage units with a mass of 312 each uh the engines with a M these engines six engines they each have a mass of 330 your mass will get big even if you don't have a huge hauler of a ship your mass will get Giant and uh landing gear anyway comes into play with that and I'm about to have more landing gear than I need we're going to take out these anyway new Homestead is unique in that it has large land landing gear and it's not one of those things that's really apparent for instance if I go to cockpits I'll show you the big one of the big cockpits I spoke of this is pretty easy to see this is a hard piece to miss that is a giant cockpit it's a great cockpit with lots of advantages it has two stories so if you connect this right with your Hab modules you can actually have no ladders in your in your ship as the stairs in the cockpit as stairs will connect the two decks of your ship together if you so choose that's pretty noticeable right m well this gear is really easy to overlook just some landing gear sitting here it's this ng20 landing gear this Nova gear and look it has Lander thrust of four this is literally twice as sturdy as all the other landing gear in the game that I've seen so yeah this is something that's easy to miss and so important so we're going to put these wide ones probably look the best so by taking out two pieces with the Lander thrust of two and adding two landing gears Landing thrust of four I've gone up by four more thrust which is like adding basically I've effectively oh just clone this over here there we go so there I have effectively added two more landing gear to my ship without adding any so how many landing gear do we have we have seven this just support about anything because all six of these on the main fuselodge of the ship so this is a total of 24 thrust here CU these are all the four thrust ones and then these little ones on the side which are mostly just for looks now let's look about let's look at colors on the ship because I need to I want to paint this landing gear now to go with the ship colors this is a thing that took me forever to figure out and I still haven't totally figured out but I have a way around it how to keep the custom colors on your ship and how to keep them you know how to get them there and how to keep them I say that because well let's look at this little piece right here select it with the right bumper button hit the left stick I'm using Xbox controller though I'm on PC Xbox controls uh I think this game is best played with the controller anyway so now now you see I have a custom blue color but and I believe the black is also custom but notice up here it's not on recent so if I want to use these colors on a new piece let's back out of that so my new landing gear here let's say I want to paint it the blue to match the ship RB left stick how the hell do I get that color and this took me forever to figure out well I'll just tell you right now here's how exactly how you do that we need to get these three custom colors pegged into the recent so that I can use them very easy right bumper to select this pull up the color palette what we want to do this is a trick just go to any one of these bars let's go to Hue the top bar just click it over one click it back there I clicked it over and back accept so all I did was just reapply the same colors I changed it up changed it back applied now all three of those colors are going to be in the recent colors used so I can select with the right bumper button select our new landing gear pull this up and here they are but that's how you do that so that's how you call your color palette back up when you go to a new Spaceport your custom colors will no longer be in the recently used and that's how you do that now the ships getting a little ugly right here with two of these landing gear in a row landing gear can be an issue because it's like where do I put landing gear you know the bottom of my ship is is Hab modules you know engines where do I put the landing gear where it looks good and is symmetrical and that's why I like the landing Babs the ladder it elevates your ship at one deck up so you can put this kind of gear under it if you're going for a really big ship so now let's talk about storage storage was my first first concern in building the first thing was it was just hair pulling frustration and I was literally just screaming under my breath you know Bethesda you know why would you make a game where I can't you know why can I not carry the stuff that I want to carry you know I was so frustrated I was just literally just kissing under my teeth every time just muttering oh why can't I store this you know you know what I'm talking about I was so aggravated with it and the ship building was not helping me out any because the storage mod modules seem so unrealistic and I just couldn't get over it well I'll tell you right now before I continue I'll tell you right now it gets to the point where it doesn't even matter it is such a non-issue I laugh at the fact I even used to worry about storage because the thing is so here's the basic storage module there's actually one of these on your Frontier at the very beginning of the game so cargo 210 and I'm like okay first of all I remember my first worries I like 210 kilg really I can fit that in the back seat of my car am I right and I was like 110 kg and mass of 44 which when you're just starting ship building that's a lot of Mass to worry about of course it becomes a total non-issue when you look at this compared to our ship here and I'll show you but I laugh at the fact that I used to be worried about it but nevertheless it is a worry when you start building ships don't worry about it so we're going to talk about storage right now yeah but I was like 210 kilograms in this thing well now at the time when you first start off the biggest storage you can have is like 300 some I think um in the somewhere in the level 30s I don't know where somewhere in the level 30s you unlock um this guy right here almost 1500 storage and it has snap points on every side you can snap these anywhere on your ship pretty much you know uh they're a little boxy but then there's other choices there's also here this little stylish 950 and it's it can be curved and flipped around to fit the fuselage of your ship there's I think there's some on this ship ship um no but I have some of the angled ones to hold 1200 1270 so there's a lot of stylish ones and these could be flipped and moved around to fit the con Cruiser of ship no problem here we have a bigger one at almost 1500 now I'm I can only speak for what I've unlocked so far what I'm saying is don't worry about this and the thing is of course the thing is engine propulsion which we'll talk about in a second propulsion because engines that's the first thing that'll happen is you'll put too much storage on your ship your engines won't move your ship and that was the huge limiting capacity at the beginning well anyway I'll get to that in a sec I actually want to add more storage to my ship right now because as you can see my Mobility is maxed out at 100 my jump range is down but that's all dependent on the grav drive when I find a better grav drive I'm sure there are some this is the one I have now I'm sure I can find a better one to get more thrust but until then anyway my Mobility is capped so may as well add more storage I'm not really sure where per se I kind of thought about pulling this off and putting one there and it's placed though it's a little boxy looking we'll just do that for now we'll just throw this up here Ian it looks okay it looks okay although that looked better I've run ships with mobility in the 30s and they still run just fine so 91 is totally fine you can run down once you get down into the 40s and Below it'll give you a warning but you can still uh fly the ship and it's fine I've run it as low as 33 and it's still fine people probably run it lower point is this puts me 8770 cargo and with my uh bonus for my skills it's going to be I don't know 11 or so thousand and uh so in other words not a big worry I'll do this on my own time when I figure out exactly where to put it cuz I'm just not sure I like this piece there it has to kind of the shape that I want okay now there's something I want to mention about ship building it's one of the most important key things and I wish I'd remembered this at the beginning I just kind of remembered it as I was going along because as I had this piece floated over here there's that one error it's easy not to worry about that error because you know what that error says it says unattached modules so typically when you're ship building that error is always going to be up there and then when you get everything put together that error goes away well sometimes that's not the case sometimes it sticks up there and then you have this huge ship like this which has so many modules and it'll say one's unconnected and it show you how that can happen and how to fix it so to illustrate how this can happen sometimes in building you may end up moving some stuff around like say I decide this engine looks better here and say say I want this here and then I'll look oh well this will go nicely right there and then somewhere along the line I might move this storage unit completely forget about it put it here or something like that right and so the ship from up here looks totally fine but there's one error and it says unconnected modules and you can sit here forever scouring where it's at even though it's obvious where it's at it's because I just did it on purpose but you know what I'm talking about sometimes you have a ship like this and it says one unconnected module and you're like where right here's how to quickly fix that and this is this blew my mind when I figured this out hit the left bumper on the Xbox controller which is select all and there there's your error that that yeah I don't know I just I did that one time so I hope that helps you as much as it helps me I saw that and then I was like oh that's where the error is obviously so that's how you can fix that now I want to talk about engines this is the thing that just killed me for up until up honestly until the mid level 30s and that was I could only have so much storage capacity because the engines would only push push so much let's see what engines are available here it changes from port to port we're at new Homestead now at your base however at my Outpost at least right now level 40 in my Outpost this is the largest most powerful engine that I can equip and I think you pretty much see this from the beginning of the game I think this is unlocked acquire Starship design one it's at the bottom of the list it's got great thrust and maneuvering thrust and for the longest time I thought this was the biggest and you can only put four of these and then there's that I thought arbitrarily for some reason that I could only have four engines on my ship and I didn't know why I didn't think about why I thought this was the biggest you could have with four of these which is at Max the thrust you can have you can only move I mean this much cargo would be difficult to move the ship would have a Mobility somewhere in the 30s it would still fly but it was it was really annoying me and it was adding to the storage capacity thing I had at the beginning of the game but then I noticed something there is no limit that says you need to have four engines notice I have six on this ship and it runs fine and then that's when I noticed something right here if you look it says max power three I never put this together in my head that's because max power three notice up there on your uh little energy bars that you have on the HUD on the screen when you're flying or ship you have your three weapons engine shield and grav drive right and there's 12 slots in each this takes up three of those on the engine bar so you can only have four of these and most of the engines are that way these engines which you unlock at certain outposts or certain space ports later on in the somewhere in the 30s these became available these only have a max power of two and they have more thrust and more maneuvering thrust by a decent amount than these or by a little bit and the thing is I can have two more of these because does 6 * 2 right is 12 so that blew my mind and the thing is right now I think these are the biggest most powerful engines I can have and they only take two power and it blew my mind and here's well here's the thing these don't require anything in Starship design or piloting no prerequisites so that tells me there are definitely bigger batter engines somewhere that I will unlock at some point right so that gives me hope and that's the thing building ships one thing I found over time is all of my worries eventually got dashed as more and more bigger and batter Parts became available and so uh don't worry about that because bigger engines will become available these don't even require any points and skills these are just available let's see what we can buy here because the engine I just deleted that is the biggest one I can get at my Outpost but different spaceports will have unique ones like this right here this has even more thrust this has a ridiculous amount of thrust at 26,000 and more maneuvering thrust to than that round one not quite as much as these however this one has a max power of four so you can only have three of these engines on your ship and some about engines does have to do with the Aesthetics of the engine and the way they attach you know does a certain engine fit with your ship design the ones I have are incredibly easy because they snap right inside of a two tall one wide configuration and you could snap stuff around them some engines aren't like that you know they all have different design things and different attachment points anyway this one here has a cool look to it a lot of power a lot of power and uh but it can you can only have three of these that's something to look at is Max power and then there's this right here which has really good thrust and maneuvering thrust and has three most of these have a max power of three as you scroll up this led to my misconception scrolling up through these they'll have three three 3 three this led to my misconception that you can only have four engines it's not true there are some there's some more up here like these right here two max power so you could have six of these some of these little ones up here so if you have if you like me thought you can only have four engines that's that's not true so don't let I'm saying and that's what much of what this video is about is don't let the small things at the beginning deter you from ship building don't let the Small Things deter you from ship building because as you can see and this is not even a Crazy Design I've had ships with you know Landing Bay and then I've had like a bridge style like like a cockpit like out of an aircraft carrier or something like five levels up and a couple spots over you know off center like I did build a ship once kind of like that looked like an aircraft carrier um you you can connect modules internally and stuff in pretty much any way you want you can carry really as much as you want here we're carrying with my skills we're carrying 9500 cargo without breaking a sweat as my Mobility is capped out and I know these are not even the best engines that I'll see I know somewhere down the line I'll find better engines and that's why I wanted to make this video because those of you who may be turned off to ship building or may not think you can do anything you want well I'm here to tell you that you definitely can do pretty much anything you want I haven't seen any real limitations to ship building seems like for a while I was rebuilding my ship and building a new ship every like every day I was spending hours building the next new big ship I showed you three that I've built I've had a couple of others that I've sold ship building becomes increasingly more expensive as you get more expensive Parts these engines for instance are 50,000 credits each that's another thing at the beginning ships are very cheap and I was like literally there's weapons I have that I could sell for more than some of the ships that I had ship sell price is another thing kind of beyond the purview of this video but you could build ships incredibly cheap at the beginning that does not become so I've put probably well over half a million credits into the ship so if you're thinking that's kind of unbalanced it's not and that same thing comes with mass and that's why I was talking about landing gear these you know these engines alone are each over like 300 Mass I think it was the storage compartments are over 300 your ship will get massive you will have needs for more power and more powerful landing gear that's where these are the two most important things cuz it's just going to happen as you go along uh this the ships get incredibly expensive to build which is good because where I was building like a new ship every day you know at the beginning when you're building Class A or Class B ships uh 150,000 credits is more than enough to build something like my ship the Siberia which you can see right uh up here I believe I built this on a budget of about 150,000 credits and at the time this was a huge massive ship uh that's laughable now of course and the thing is uh I don't rebuild this ship every day now because um well I reconfigure it sometimes but I mean the parts you put in this the parts you put in this this is hundreds of thousands of credits so rest assured that as you continue building ships you will continue to be challenged by um new options the money that it costs and honestly U the more you figure out about it the more it opens up the possibilities and you can really kind of recreate any ship that you've ever seen I don't know how much cargo for instance you can totally completely hold but I will tell you this right here at 9500 cargo honestly um I only have I only have a little over half full I could see filling that up but I can easily tack on I could easily tack on another 3,000 cargo to this easily another 3,000 cargo and only lose about 15 or so mo mobility probably and it still be above 80 Mobility you know most likely so guys I hope this video was helpful and I hope that you know you got anything you wanted to know out of this you can do a lot with ship building in this game and this is well this is one that I've designed everyone has their own style and one thing I like to do is as you know on that topic is you can occasionally look at the ships for sale and get ideas off of those is one thing I do occasionally look at the ships for sale get ideas off of those as to where you can go and what kind of things you can explore as far as concepts of course there's YouTube videos I don't watch any of them I figured all this out on myself you know by myself on my own that's how I wanted to do it that said I beat beat my head against the wall for hours and hours trying to figure stuff out the way I figure this out is the hard way I would not recommend thus if you're watching this I assume you're open to tips I hope these helped you out be sure to let me know in the comments below what you think or anything I may have missed that you may want to cover I hope my tricks helped you particularly the color switching and finding unattached modules and think about engine thrust those things had me beating my head against the wall until I figured them out all right guys thanks so much for watching be sure to like the video if you like what you see here and subscribe for more as I try to take some time off in my Starfield playing to post some videos I think I logged over a 100 hours in the last week um so if I can find the time I try to have more Starfield videos so subscribe for more and I'll see you guys next time
