today I want to go over what I truly believe to be the most overpowered build currently in Hell divers 2 I've sunk a borderline embarrassingly high amount of time into this game lately and if I'm going into any High difficulty Mission this build is my bar admittedly there are two unique missions where I'll switch things up one being the defend area automaton mission where the community has universally agreed that both the mortar and EMS mortar turns the whole thing into a two-minute joke and also the retrieve essential Personnel automaton mission on high difficulty that requires both a unique Loadout and strategy on high difficulty for literally every other mission in the game this is my go-to Loadout and when I equip it I am fully confident that I'll be able to handle 100% of whatever the game throws at me so before we talk strategems let's talk armor apparently armor is currently bugged in Hell divers 2 which a lot of players including me didn't hear about right away basically all armor values are the same right now meaning heavy armor doesn't give you any extra survivability for the time being pretty much if you're wearing heavy armor it's kind of to running a marathon in full cosplay armor yeah you can put it on if you're really into the fashion but the only thing it's going to do for you is slow you down so probably don't do that with that in mind I'd highly recommend one of two armor sets any light armor at all since again armor values are bugged and you'll have the same overall survivability and just be able to run quicker or any armor with the Democracy protects trait I don't think a lot of people realize how much the 50% chance to not die when taking lethal damage part can save your ass in combat 50% is just straight up crazy I've had moments where I hands down should have died but I simply won the coin toss offered by democracy protects and wound up living it also works especially well in combination with a strategy I'll talk about later weapon wise this is such a hands-down no contest pick that it borders on bad game balance but I'm strangely okay with it to the surprise of no one I'm recommending the breaker shotgun which is unlocked in the free-to-play battle pass at level four and is stupidly effective against any non-heavy armored enemy in the game terminats automatons doesn't matter the breaker has a high rate of fire if you want to spam it and shocking range for a shotgun it is the best pick without question in some situations I do enjoy throwing on the Liberator penetrator for medium armor punching and its longrange capability but 99 times out of 100 the breaker is just the all-around perfect primary weapon for Mid and high difficulty missions and Hell divers too for secondary and grenade picks honestly you can go with whatever feels right I don't think these picks in particular are going to make or break your overall build I usually go with the Redeemer pistol and the g12 nade but again I think you could make a case for other options they aren't hard Line in the Sand picks like other parts of this build but before we go any further I want to talk to you about your balls yeah you heard outplays your balls will thank you all right we back and the moment you've all been waiting for strategy time I'll start things off with what I consider to be the two most carved in stone parts of the build and we can then move on to the two where maybe there's a little flexibility depending on how you're feeling that day strategy number one rail gun this is almost non debatable in my opinion if you're new to Hell divers 2 I don't really know how else to put this but the rail gun is so incredibly effective in what it was designed to do that again like the breaker shotgun it borders on Flatout sandbox in balance anytime an armored enemy approaches you on the field the rail gun is your immediate Fu answer bile spewing bugs Chargers bile Titans automaton turret structures tanks hulks doesn't matter any enemy that has medium to heavy armored protection will be turned into a joke with the rail gun and before there's any argument on those bile SP bugs Down Below in the comment section they do have armor around their heads which is where you should be shooting by the way they take less damage overall if you shoot them in that big juic booty only shoot them there if you don't have a clear shot on the head but yeah I'm genuinely amazed that the rail gun is a hit scan weapon with a 20 mag it's hands down the most efficient and brutal armor-piercing weapon in the game and I am 1,000% expecting a future Nerf to the weapon from Arrowhead until then though woo go nuts oh yeah and because this game ain't for weak spined baby bag you should always put your rail gun in unsafe mode like a true patriot which I'm shocked that a lot of people still don't know about yes you can blow yourself up if you charge up your shot for too long the maximum time being 3 seconds by the way but you do more damage per shot and that is what we want just keep practicing you'll get a sense for the timing I promise strategy two is The Shield generator pack there are other good backpack options in HD2 right now like the guard dog Rover or the supply pack but the shield generator pack is my favorite pick by far dying in Hell divers especially at high level difficulty can be a huge pain in the ass even if and when you get called back to the battle Battlefield you're now naked and you have none of your gear meaning you'll be way less effective until you can either get back to your body or call in another rail gun this is why the shield generator pack IMO is goated it makes you far far harder to kill not only are you protected from some hits which could potentially be lethal you also won't have the incredibly annoying feeling of getting slowed down by certain enemy attacks which can lead to dying via getting dog piled The Shield generator pack can occasionally backfire admittedly if a charger runs you over you'll sometimes get stuck underneath them and dragged along but again a rare occurrence and otherwise Godly Loadout pick which will save your bacon and save your life routinely at high difficulty especially when combined with the Democracy protects armor trait I mentioned earlier you can get out of situations that you really have no business living through strategy 3 is a mild Flex pick between one of the following orbital rail Cannon orbital laser or the 500 kg bomb if you can't already tell the purpose of strategy three is to be your boss killer strategy designed to help deal with bile Titans tanks or automaton turret Towers say that three times fast the option I end up taking up more often than not is the orbital rail Cannon granted it can potentially f up by accidentally tracking to the wrong target that usually is rare while the orbital rail can't flat out one shot of biot Titan at high levels it's very consistent comes in lightning quick and best of all has a low cooldown and unlimited uses even if the bile Titan doesn't go down right away you significantly hurt it and just mop it up with your regular rail gun easy tanks and turret Towers go down immediately with the orbital rail which is awesome orbital laser is definitely the harder hitting option between the two but the drawbacks are more noticeable you got a longer cooldown time and worst of all a Max of three overall uses throughout the entire Mission the laser can damage multiple targets though if it finishes off the first Target quickly enough which is nice the 500 kg bomb is another solid pick for dealing with big bads and the hanger upgrades offer via the ship module make it a really appealing option the downside of the 500 kg is that it can potentially murder your friends pretty easily but then again the laser can do that too at the end of the day it's your call but nine times out of 10 I go with the orbital rail strategy 4 is my anti- Outpost pick which also has the ability to deal with mobs in a pinch and for me that would be the eagle air strike other options can also fit this role so potentially another mild Flex pick here if you're interested in the eagle 110 or the walking barrage but I am routinely amazed at how good the eagle air strike is for an option unlocked so early into the game low cooldown time multiple uses before needing to rearm and the benefits from all the hanger upgrades the automaton outposts in particular are so easy to wipe out from afar with the air strike just Chuck it in from downtown buildings go boom that's all she wrote now technically the 500 kg can also take down outposts if positioned correctly it just has a deceptively small radius for getting that job done meaning in theory if you you were really good with placement or don't mind running in manually to Chuck a few nades you could go with the 500 kg and either the orbital rail or the orbital laser for double big bad coverage and the ability to destroy an outpost the downside there would be the cool down of the 500 kg would be noticeably longer than the eagle air strike but again up to you doesn't matter if you're a new player or a vet I assure you that for the vast majority of the missions in this game even on the highest difficulty settings this build can get the job done and easily if you got any variations or your own build that you've seen
