Helldivers 2: Is the upgrade worth your money? (Super Citizen Edition Breakdown)

are you wondering whether or not to purchase the super citizen addition let's look at the details and stats of all included items so you can determine if it's worth your extra money and I'll throw in some thoughts of my own after more than 40 hours of gameplay as a short overview here's what you'll get from the super citizen Edition an extra armor set a cape a submachine gun the special super citizen status that's dis played next to your name a strategy mini game for aboard your destroyer and you'll receive the premium war bond steel veterans now of course the lack of details regarding all of these items left everyone wondering how this deluxe version would hold up against the standard gear so let's review everything step by step starting with the armor set savior of the free a deluxe armor set in any game is usually something Superior to other sets in game however developer aroh had stated several several times prior to release that hell divers 2 is not paid to win so this armor set would not give people an unfair advantage over those sticking to the regular edition and this is true looking at the armor stats and passive the stats 100 points in armor rating 500 in speed and 100 in stamina region are very basic and equal to other sets in game the passive democracy protects says it gives you a chance of 50% to not die when taking lethal damage prevents all damage from bleeding if chest hemorrhages this actually is a very useful passive and it saved my hell diver on quite a number of occasions but this is not a passive applicable only to this armor one of the pre-order armor sets tr9 Cavalier of democracy and regular armor from the game have the exact same passive so as far as the armor goes the only difference this makes is the way that it looks so it's a cosmetic next next the submachine gun another piece of gear from which you might expect a small miracle for being a weapon part of a deluxe edition of the game it's not a minigun in Disguise but it does have a very high rate of fire emptying its mag in just under 2.2 seconds this sounds great but in practice you risk coming up empty when being swatted by a whole group of enemies and contrary to what you might expect you can mow down a group of 10 enemies with one wide spraying motion so in terms of deluxe edition in superiority that's non-existent all weapons have their strengths and weaknesses and this gun certainly isn't op or so unique that it's a must have moving on to the cape and the helmet these are equal in every way apart from how they look to all other variations in the game pre-order and regular in the sense that yes they have stats but they all have the same ones the super citizen versions don't provide you with any advantage over the regular gear aside from the gear you'll have the super citizen title that you can select in your character screen under title as you level up from Cadet you'll gain different ranks this will be displayed on your name at the bottom left corner of your screen of course this alone does nothing other than making you a superior citizen of super Earth over those ordinary regular edition players if you're like me that is if it takes you longer than 5 Seconds to call down a support weapon or an orbital strike then this might be for you this arcade machine will throw any type of straty code at you to complete as fast as possible it can be a means to an end to practice and refine your stratem Cod punching skills but other than that it's not really doing anything for you I still find the best way to practice becoming faster at straty codes is just by doing it on the battlefield this way you can practice on a smaller set of codes before anying new ones instead of all of them at once at random I'm just not very good at it lastly we have the premium war bond it's a premium version of the regular war bond hell divers mobilize with different weapons gear and items held inside this is an important point so let me pause here for a dramatic effect the only upsell for the super citizen Edition is when it comes to the steel Veterans war bond is that it will instantly unlock it for you saving you time and money I guess the question here is how much is this unlock worth to you compared to doing this by playing the game because you can also gain access to this with the standard edition of the game by collecting 1,000 super credits this should be doable in about 2 weeks time for casual players who have about an hour per day to spend on playing you can collect 10 to 20 super credits per hour and use your medals to unlock more Super credits from the standard War Bomb to which you already have access if you stick to the regular edition of the game then you always have the option to purchase 1,000 super credits for $10 you could break down the cost for the super citizen addition as follows $10 for the steel Veterans war bond unlock and $10 for everything else but why $10 for the war bond unlock well because you can buy 1,000 super credits for $10 in the games acquisition store since none of the gear will give you an edge over other players it really comes down to whether or not you like the Aesthetics of these items people who choose the super citizen Edition will most likely get it for either the war bond unlock or simply because they feel very enthusiastic about the game and want to support it and be a part of it for me personally I really liked the way that era had presented the game its Vibe and the game play looked great so I made a conscious decision to upgrade now it won't help you win the game or be better at it in anyway if you don't care about cosmetics and if you want to get your hands on the contents of the premium war bond then purchasing 1,000 super credits in game would be cheaper than getting it through the super citizen Edition putting it in a more business-like perspective the upgrade is a nice way for the studio to get some extra Revenue with which to
