The Last of Us - Episode 1 - "When You're Lost in the Darkness" REACTION

The Last of Us JV check today we're checking out the Last of Us episode one it's a new HBO streaming show um based on the video game franchise The Last of Us for Playstation and uh I can't wait to watch this because I'm a big fan of the video game um but I don't want to say anything because I don't want to spoil anything for Jane so um we're gonna just check this out and then we'll talk I'll give you my full thoughts and our full thoughts in the end of the video we'll fully talk about it um you guys know what I'm talking about for that yeah you guys know what I'm talking about I don't want to spoil anything so let's get into it The Last of Us episode one smash the like button let's go thank you may please have my house and that's your biggest worry Global pandemic pan meaning all the whole world becomes sickle at once yeah and uh so this game came out like way before all this the pandemic no no no no all right well that's our show sometimes millions of people die as in an actual War but in the end we always win fungus yes that's the usual response fungi seem harmless enough there's a fungus that infects insects this is real the ant's brain and then floods it with hallucinogens thus bending the ants mind to its will holy crap Dr schoenheit fungal infection of this kind is real but not in humans true for that was a change what if for instance this is terrifying to get slightly warmer oh shoot there's reason to evolve borrowing into our brains and taking control not of millions of us but billions of us spread the infection to look at everyone's human alive by any means necessary and there are no treatments for this no preventative he's not joking anymore people to make them so if that happens we lose whoa wow so depressing yeah oh my God it's like room for a total Loop yeah he can even spin it to make it funny you know it's just like he knew that it was bad wow look at this beginning The Game of Thrones but with like plants the fungi spreading the biggest living organism is like this fungus that's like spread across this jungle have you seen it do you remember in high school mushroom the guy mushroom the guy yeah he was so he was such a fun guy ah that's totally fell for that I was like I was thinking back to high school because we went to the same high school I was like who was called mushroom there was a guy called Peanut so peanut yeah we called him peanut he was probably shelled laughs I wanted to make it like sheltered or he was nuts damn it okay okay oh shoot that was the best Who's Gonna Make You birthday pancakes it's like five ingredients no you don't like them you can do it my benefit you gotta put half water I could bring you in cold homework done I could bring you it's Mando finally we'll see you again 36. I presume he says I don't already stay alive you old [ __ ] oh it's his birthday he just turned 36. to a kid 36 years old yeah JanSport yeah did you have a GN sport yeah I had a Jansport too she's taking all his money did she bleed she could oh don't do that sometimes they're super sharp yeah wait whatever happy birthday to you combat veteran from Desert Storm combat veteran okay they have to let us they wanted us to know yeah they have um pictures of the president on the Wale in school we don't have pictures of prime minister yeah uh Justin Trudeau for her getting on the bus right away yeah going straight home yeah I would hang out after school unless I had practice to hang out talk to your friends get into trouble get into fights no balls at the TTC really gosh it's buying a gift for her dad oh she's getting fixed 20. that's it okay 30. 20 is good it's a spring I'll do it right now yeah you think it'd be expensive yeah it's 20 bucks what that's it that's great that's so like considerate oh oh do you see all day I swear all day we're done for today it's 3 15 we close it I'm very sorry he cannot finish I'm already finished okay when someone treats you like that you go get out of there where's she she's home there you are sweet I was thinking we'd make some cookies chocolate chip raisin um raisin I guess somebody has to right people think raisins are healthy but it's just sugar full of sugar yeah but you know chocolate especially like especially dark chocolate is better yeah 2003 and an older generation she should go home I'm getting nervous oh yeah and then her dad will be home at nine yeah oh what's happening to her I don't know it's all blurry that's crazy hey Mrs Adler oh my God it was all blurred that's so streaky you know what my dad's gonna be back real soon I should go she's looking at video games I missed that no DVDs Justin I'm scared damn grandma dude she's gonna run by or something like in the in it a dog knows something's up yeah Frick man the fun guy went into her brain fungi oh hope nothing like this happens in real life oh Justin go in your house Charlotte all of us would know it's the apocalypse and zombies I don't know right away dad we're not prepared we need to like unlock the door forward good job they can put toothpicks on the end of the Nerf bullets go right into that ring not like that I mean like our house we can't lock it down we need to figure that out you don't get your present you got me a present I swear all my life oh my life fixed it for you did you what I don't hear anything got me yeah I thought he didn't do it stole it for me I saw hardcore drugs that's better when I do which I stole from you I could have Zone 60 but I put the change back because I'm an honest Thief besides it's the thought that counts and you were never gonna do it for yourself that's cool she's super honest about it thank you Lethal Weapon too I've never seen Lethal Weapon I don't think that was it was Lethal something but there was a Ninja on the front is Lethal Weapon not a movie with ninjas no because that would be a Lethal Weapon like a black belt Ninja yeah right oh wow look at the Fun 2003 phones yeah like a peanut um Nokia hello yeah holy it's like some of it's like shot for shot from the game really yeah getting chills right now can you tell me is he gonna be okay is she gonna be okay Justin I can't I can't take sadness and horror and terrifyingness I'm already scared tell me he's they're gonna get back together after he leaves to go to jail and he's going to come right home and be with her 1103. you didn't answer me he's gonna get lost 2 16. gonna do oh that one's running after that person was that one alive I don't get it with you yeah zombies yeah there was two zombies and then he ran over them and then the neighbor's like Jesus Joel Only was taking care of one and the other one jumped on a delphono radio gonna go News man wouldn't shut up how do you know what how do you know we're not sick you're saying it's mostly people in the city uh you have it it's Airborne for sure it's Jimmy's Place who's Jimmy what do we need a contingency plan like we need we need the Cyber truck with the like sleeper part you know yeah and the solar the solar uh panel so we can charge anywhere everyone yeah just go on the drive on the grass like I don't know if this is a good idea but if you sink into it like what if it's it's wet let's go slow killed 20 years later so this kid was born during this yeah true Austin 2023 this year for some reason that looked like it was in the future seeing it but I was like that's this year yeah what in the hell no big and I think he's a zombie it's exactly like the game like that was crazy same response I got happened when I played the game oh man so that guy shot her it wasn't accidentally the friend it was the the guard yeah I want to let guards He was ordered to kill him oh that's so horrible two hours oh time until infection wow and uh how did you get this it's gonna be a little tickle right here my face okay yeah oh man right at the beginning punch you in the gut and then play it's like I don't want to play now would you like that yeah it was pretty revolutionary like um a game like that yeah it's it was a big big deal I won all the awards and stuff still like being remade to this day they remade it last year that's how it starts that was horrid oh yeah oh they're burning the bodies of the Dead the smell must be something Graves post-apocalyptic what does she see people her friends what good it was that kid from with the shoes oh he died the one they said we're gonna get the toys oh yeah oh do you think they killed him that was the medicine yeah the injection sewer maintenance so you do the different like crappy jobs and you get a little like extra slip from food or something they're real pills and bullets bullets and pills the more you shoot people the harder it is to sleep I guess oh you guess you want them or not so he sells the stuff to the black bag guards and then he like yeah Mando season three drops so awful about his daughter I'm still in bits yeah sticks with you it's gonna be her story I'm sorry I thought he was gonna die to be totally honest what else are so unlucky kids don't fare well on this show already too dead count slowly and clearly from one to ten one G3 slowly and clearly one two so are they just checking to see if she's bitten yeah I think they're keeping her here to see if she turns she's infected she will answer the call look to the light was that what it said something like that she's from uh remember Game of Thrones that little girl yeah she was the uh like the leader of a place yeah and everyone she was like such a great character yeah she's recognizable I forget if she died in Game of Thrones or not I can't remember she was in the last fight but I forget what happened thingies is that his friend no no oh yeah oh y'all look alike just just humans like because that guy was like Mexican yeah for me it doesn't matter humans all the same show me where the Tower is you can't be serious you're a capable guy but there are worse things than infected out there I hear everything on this there are Raiders there are slavers but you're sure tongue is okay oh oh my gosh it's a Cody Tower that's all he cares about qbar4 but I don't know exactly what Tommy Tommy's the French sucks his daughter's been dead for 20 years 20 years she would be like in her 30s now you know so he's 55 right now because he was 35. 236 I don't know so I got her mid-50s I mean this guy's her dad didn't freaking Jaron his name's Joel in the show okay you all right already what I just said it once that's really close to Toronto yeah that's really close to here how many two hours no like an hour maybe 15 hour 20. we're practically Americans okay Joel take it easy popping pills and alcohol just trying to show you that he's like having issues and it's terrible yeah so where is it probably done though it's lost everything yeah and now Tommy's missing you take jobs and like throw bodies like it's just the worst people think mental health is bad now yeah this he so he dreams companion so there's Raiders outside the walls and they're slavers people that enslave other people it's wild oh she got out um what oh the battery and the car the guys who jumped me away with Robert he sold down battery to someone else oh she told anyway okay yeah nothing's lost the [ __ ] like this is gonna happen you're dead now we just shake it off and we go get our cards back or the battery I need the battery test without one and if I don't get to Tommy soon he's gonna die out there Robert is terrified of you so you march out of here all Clint Eastwood he's gonna get wind of it and Skip I need you to take a breath but I would very much like for you to hurt him let's go hunt that [ __ ] down yeah so he survived that I thought I guess only the minions were dead yeah so this is the first mission I'm remembering now to go hunt down that guy yeah I that how the game started uh with the Grandma next door no that Grandma that stuff was wait I can't remember the neighbors did get infected yeah it was similar to that but I don't know about the grandma I really thought that the girl the daughter I thought she was gonna survive and have an adventure with the dog but that dog is long dead okay oh it hurt my back always peeing on the wall yep take him out oh crap crap crap oh it's that guy you're gonna be [ __ ] me okay let's talk this out turn around let's flip the cards with you oh were you yeah I'm so blessed hands on your head I don't the loop because there's not much stuff it's gonna pick up he's gotta hurry oh my goodness do not proceeds that means trouble they're going out into this and it's trouble yeah does trouble mean zombies oh this is like the just the random like you know outside yeah wow you hear all this yeah screaming wow all right definitely 80s yeah trouble that was a good ending boy so he saw the flashback so what happened to his daughter and he's like it's not gonna let it happen again that was so scary and sad God watching the daughter die was horrid yeah I thought I really thought she was going to survive I thought it was gonna be her story with the dog I didn't think the dad was gonna make it home you thought I was gonna follow her yeah that's all I thought oh man Joel he's trying to get to his friend that's all he has left um he's pretty like that sucks bitter and stuff so yeah yeah what I was gonna say about the game like yeah I love playing the game and the first scene in that game is what happened in this they kept it the same yeah because usually in adaptations right the director or writers will be like I want to do my own thing and change this and change that and then hey film the kit that was such an epic scene that it's like thank goodness yeah because it's not changing when they do do that like with Halo all the fans are like so upset but they want to like write their own story and it's just like when you follow the adaptation like this so well the fans are happy it's getting amazing ratings everywhere people are it's loving it I gotta say I calmed down a lot I would say maybe the first like just maybe like like 45 minutes I you know I wasn't really uh feeling good about it it was the first 20 I think was the intense part or was it 45 whatever the the beginning I was panicking the daughter part I just don't like to feel scared well yeah that that also the daughter is like biracial and yeah she looks reminds us she's light eyes of our daughters super curly hair yeah we have two daughters that remind us she reminded us of her that's why it hit even harder yeah um skin like shy but like Curly curly like shower yeah um it was really I like when they show the beginning of apocalypses because you get to see what happens and how they deal with it and this was in 2003 so like when it happened and it's interesting I never thought of it because we have all this text stuff now and like cell phones and all this 2003 they didn't so they didn't get to get this far like it basically stopped internet yeah they sell the internet they still have basic cell phones different but it didn't get to this point um which is kind of cool but um man it's terrible the post-apocalyptic world that they live in so they're being oppressed by this feta whatever they're called whatever they're being oppressed and the fireflies are the rebels trying to stop Ross friend so he's like the Clint Eastwood like they all kind of fear Him and respect him um but yeah freaking jarring yeah that's who he is I'm gonna follow the story of Joel and Ellie as they Venture off and we've discovered Jane discovers that Ellie is immune is immune immune okay English teacher immune grammar grammar police um yeah you know funny enough um yeah I just uh I was able to figure that one out before Joel which was cool and when did you figure it out did you figure out when I was like I don't know I don't know the lady was saying you're you're special you're the one you're like we need you it was just like and then there was a butterfly on the window um oh you don't see that when she's standing by the window and they were talking there's a butterfly yeah and the butterflies connected I Am Legend because that's the butterfly was on the you know the symbol of uh the Cure oh cool yeah so just right away I'm like oh it's secure yeah yeah so her bit she was bit three weeks ago and um she would have turned people usually turn in a day or two a couple of hours it said yeah yeah so she was fine so if it was The Cure and then if anyone hears they might like I don't know she can't die like she needs they need euthanizing people too yeah like I thought the kid at the beginning was going to be Ellie and then we're gonna do a time Jump because when remember the kid was walking yeah because they survived right like I was like gonna think like that was her because I knew she was immune but um yeah that definitely was not but yeah that was a really good first episode really intense there's I think there's eight or nine episodes in the season guys let us know if you guys want us to continue watching this because um it's really good we don't really do shows that much anymore Phillips you should watch until there's only two episodes left because then we
