chapter one verse 22 [Music] [Music] First Samuel chapter 1 verse 22 if you got to say man here's what the Bible says but Hannah went not up see we're picking right up where we left off we had a wonderful Thanksgiving service by the way the Lord was in this place that's another thing I wanted you know I'm just the end of the year is coming and I want to make sure that I'll just preach you that I that I actually pass to you don't just come to church on Sunday and if we have service on Thanksgiving and Christmas that ain't your day that's the Lord's Day so when we have services like that that's not a day off that's a day oh I bet you they're giving God glory would have probably helped that argument that happened in your house that you ain't telling nobody about it would have helped your heart that you upset that you're sending out 25 invitations it could for 50 people but only 15 show it up because 10 of them didn't come and you mad at them right now wasting my money and got this Turkey say we we left here with our hearts so full of joy we care who are at the house right anytime we have Church which is not often you find your way here here's what the Bible says forsake not the assembling of yourselves with other believers I don't care how far you live I don't care what side of town you all God always has a word for you when we were in school we had to have perfect attendance I mean y'all think you get a certificate if I was giving our perfect attendance certificates something y'all to get one I know some you have like what I'm gonna get mine next year I'm stealing my wife looking at me like move on so let me all right verse 22 but Hannah went not up for she said unto her husband I will not go up until the child is weaned oh I love the Word of God I will not go up until what I had is ready because if I go up before he's weaned we're neither of us is gonna win so I have to wait until he's weaned I would not go up until the child be weaned and then I will bring him that he may appear before the Lord and there abide forever and elkanah her husband said unto her do what seemeth good tarry until thou have weaned him in other words take your time stop somebody say take your time only the Lord established his word stop doing things because people told you you should [Music] you ought to preach because you got a word no you need to keep talking and keep going to work cuz except the Lord build a house they that build it build it in vain verse 24 and when she had weaned him she took him up from her with three bullocks and onee father and flour and a bottle of wine and brought him unto the house of the Lord in Shiloh and the child was young and they slew the Bullock and brought the child to Eli and said O Lord as thy soul liveth my lord I am the woman that stood by the hear praying unto the Lord for this child I prayed and the Lord had to give him me my petition which I have asked of him somebody say Lord give it to me therefore also I have let him to the Lord and as long as he liveth he shall be led to the Lord and he worshiped the Lord there I want to talk about the cost of a cut the cost of a cut high-five somebody on your way down you seem to say it's gonna cost you but God's gonna cut it you need to since some of you were inundated with libations and food on Thursday lest I do this this precursor to catch you up on what you missed while you were entertaining your family we are talking about a young lady her name is Hannah Hannah was a young girl the Bible lets us know that she is the fourth barren woman in the scripture the first woman who was barren according to the Bible her name was Sarah she was married to a man named Abraham but you may recognize them by their previous names Abram and survived God changed their name this thing is so interesting because sera sera first barren woman named changed from suraíh to Sarah she has her children the first one she has is really a stepchild because she couldn't really wait on God so she went around God and hired her maid to have a child with her husband and then after she sanctioned it she got jealous it wasn't God's promise God told them that they were gonna have a baby and it didn't matter how old they were God told them to wait on him they didn't wait because they believed their age more than the rock of ages' and so what they do is they go around God and they have a baby his name is Ishmael it's not the promise then God keeps his word they have a baby his name is Isaac he is the promise how do we know that Isaac is the promise because Isaac turns around and has two children with his wife Jacob and Esau now Abraham and Sarah Sarah was the first barren woman Isaac mirrors a girl named Rebecca guess what she's the second barren woman it's all in the family after that Jacob and Esau are born Jacob was out there working at a will he meets a girl named Rachel guess what marries her and guess what she's barren she's the third barren woman look at this Jacob's name has changed from Jacob to Israel look at all of the changes and all of the Baroness in the same family you see sometimes what you're dealing with is a generational curse there's nothing wrong with your womb there was something wrong with your generation because each and every one of these women had a baby which meant that locked inside of them was always the potential to succeed where they had failed but something had to happen because every one of them who had to wait until they were 80 or 90 years old to have this child it's because they all tried to get around God and do it in their timing and couldn't wait on God to do it in his timing and whenever you try to get ahead of God you will be barren I guarantee you right now there's a area in your life where you're empty and you're trying to hurry God up but to no avail it's still empty it still is not productive Hannah who's the fourth barren woman of the Bible she's not old she's a young girl and she gets ready to have a baby she is with her husband Elkanah who has two wives at the time henna and pnina pnina has babies for him she keeps on producing every time the nine months over they would have a baby turn around he will go into her again and she will give him another child and she made fun of Hannah because she thought that she was the favorite wife because she kept producing children the Bible lets us know that she would taunt Hannah and Hannah who did not have a baby found out later on that even though she was not productive she was preferred because even though he kept having babies with her he kept laying with Hannah and I started off then on Thursday where I will begin today to let you know don't be jealous of productive people don't be jealous of your family members who got married before you don't be jealous of your coworkers who have a new car and you don't don't be jealous of the person who lives up the street who has the nice yard and the nice family and everything you think you want because they may be productive but when God has preferred you when God has preferred you what that actually means is that God has set up a system there by which sometimes Sarah your baby comes 60 years later than your friends but out of your son will come a nation see out of all of those other people who had babies the only thing that came out of their son was another son but out of Jacob came Levi and Reuben and Judah and F to Lao y'all with me 12 nations came out of her and it is a shadow because when we go to the tabernacle Jacob has 12 sons and when we get to the tabernacle there is something called the table of showbread and on the table of showbread there are 12 loaves of bread which all represented the 12 tribes of Israel are you with me so far Joseph comes out of that line in their lineage because when you are productive you have it one at a time when you are preferred you can have it 12 at a time God helped me in this church today when you I prefer slap somebody say I'm preferred so we're dealing with this preferred woman who goes and she's taunted and she finally goes to the priest and says brother Eli I need you to pray for me i pastor Torrance it blew my mind that when Hannah was in the house she cried for Eli and when Jesus was on the cross he said Eli Eli are young it it it really it really got it got to my mind because what I found out that it's not what happens to you that matters is who you call on when you're going through see some of you are when you get in trouble you call your mama because and that's good as I like to call my mom and some of you call your girlfriend's and that's fine because she has a little wisdom and some of y'all call your homeboys that's fine but there's some of us in here before I call my mama before I call my sister before I talk with my wife I've already talked to the Lord actual neighbor who do you call who do you cause you said Eli my wife my my my sister wife has been taunting me and I'm coming to you to see if you could go to God because I want to have a man child and I don't want them for me I don't want to I don't want it for me I don't I don't want to change diapers this is not about diapers yet this is not about the defamation of my I'm not excited about giving my body up to a child I don't want stretch marks I want to produce so I could give it back to God she says I want a son I want a man-child and I'll give him back to God and he'll I said I'll go to God on your behalf and that's where we are today he went to God on her behalf and she has a son not just any old son she has the son of all sons you know his name Sammy the one who would go to Jesse's house the one who would be this close to anointing Elliott because he was tall and he was a reflection of soul but because he had a connection with God God spoke to him and said you can try it watch this you can even attempt to pour it but I'm going to make sure that I do I don't allow my oil to pour on your bad decision see what I'm trying to tell some of y'all here you can keep going back to the bank and getting that loan but God ain't gonna let the oil flow because that ain't the choice come on talk to me it's not time to buy a house that expensive you don't need a car that has a 25% interest rate God says I'm going to make sure the loan is denied I don't care how many times you come to the altar cuz I'm not going to allow my oil to flow on your bad decision more than once come on y'all help your boy out Hollis your boy he says all right he picks David this is his child Samuel man like the ultimate priest like Samuel was the man you understand that right like Samuel was the man he he had an eye for talent now it's time for her to have the baby she has the baby she gives birth the Bible says that he was young now when you see the word young in the Hebrew it actually can mean anywhere from 2 to 15 because they considered a child to be a young man between 2 and 15 after 15 in the Hebrew you were an adult and might I just say right in here stop baby in your 15 and 14 yo 16 yo that's a man y'all not here with me today stop licking your finger and wiping stuff off his face that's a grown man you still making this bed but she wanted to be responsible something's got to happen some of y'all kids need to be watching they don't close by now I know y'all not gonna say man but just say ouch if you got somebody in your house 12 13 14 years old yo dishwashing days ought to be over and I know what you're saying I don't wash them I don't let them wash them cuz they don't do it right when I go they still got food on it you know why cuz you didn't show them how to do it you told them how to do it you know what my mama did she made us wash them she came and inspected them if you wasn't right she said do it again then I'll get tired of doing it how many of y'all used to have to clean the bathroom up on Saturday before you went outside to play but see y'all rich in Texas I grew up in Indiana we didn't have no lifestyle we had comedy and Ajax and we had to sprinkle that confident at Ajax on there and momma say you bet now lead no film and so we have to wipe it down until it was all go the y'all IRISA Houston y'all got all money young to 215 Sarge but our context see here's one thing about the Bible you don't read the text you read the context so when we read the context we know that Samuel is between two and four he's between two and four years old now I know y'all in using your imagination can you imagine that Hannah is that Walmart would a four-year-old suck in her breast now I know I don't know about y'all I ain't gonna sit up here and fake if I see somebody holding a baby that's this talk and they me and my wife don't talk about so I'm just gonna tell you that right now I'm like David do you see that fool over there feeding that baby and he can walk I do it now when I see somebody pushing a baby in a stroller and the baby feet on the ground and they're doing all this get that baby out a stroller not do it now I ain't as holy as y'all think I talk about people yes I do that baby need to hold a stroll on a back like the man who was sick for 38 years picked that stroll up and carry it and it was time for Hannah to go up somebody every access question how many y'all know it's time for you to go up this is gonna help you I need you to wake up I know you eat breakfast are you hungry but it's almost over in order to go up Hannah had to go up it was time for her to go up and go back to Eli and to give her son back to God she had to go up remember the temple was in an upward direction she had to go up to the temple and in order to go up see that's why if you ever pay attention to what we do in our churches today and it's just a history lesson the reason why pulpits are elevated is because somebody had depicted that it was you have to go up to be holy now we could preach from the ground we could preach from the ground but what somebody found out that when we created the New Testament church that the word did not deserve to be on the same level as the recipients that she should never listen to a priest that you were on the same level as you he should always want your priest elevated why because the anointing falls down so if you're a priest is on the same level of you the oil can flow is six she goes up to give him back but watch what the Bible says Keesha this is a birthday word for you listen he says but he must be wind I don't know why the Lord told me to tell you that it must be wind in other words God says I cannot take you up when you're still feeding low he says the reason why I cannot elevate you it because there was something in you that is still feeding off of you and until you win it you can go up god help me in this place today who am I talking to in this place today he says he says really your altitude is determined by appetite see when the devil came come to to tempt Jesus he had been in the wilderness for forty days he had not eaten in forty days he had not drink water in forty days but what he had done is prayed for forty days so notice the devil does not have spiritual warfare as a weapon because he's been in prayer the devil does not attack you in your strength he attacks you in your starvation and since the Lord needed bread he said turn these stones in the bread are you with me so far so watch this what he was really trying to do is mess up Jesus's way back to the cross and being elevated because if he would have come down and ate the bread and had reacted to his hunger he would have forfeited his Messiahship are y'all hearing me today so what the devil is trying to get you to do is to not wean yourself off of something of somebody because as long as it's sucking the life out of you you cannot receive what God has for you I don't know who I'm talking to but I think I'm talking about 90% of y'all because you know there is something in your life that is sucking the life out of you sucking the curse out of you you want to go up but God says not while it's still sucking on you I'm gonna look at your appetite and then I'm going to determine your altitude because until it's weaned you can't win lord help me in this church today somebody see somebody say teach me teach me teach me he's not going to let you go up until you win it what leach what thing has attached itself to you and it's preventing your progress because you don't have the courage to but it's okay because he gives us he gives us a window of error he says it's a young child now we can do this thing in two years we can do it in five it can be 10 it can be 15 because - every man is a measure of grace but what thing do you keep feeding that is preventing you from achieving your destiny what shopping habit is keeping your job is not paying you too much the mall is just making too much and you got something that you're feeding that's an opposition of what you're praying for you're asking God for a financial breakthrough but you just got an iPhone 10 that you couldn't afford and your egg was working just fine but you got tired of the button because everybody else didn't have a button but at the expense of your destiny you have financed a phone that if you were just updated to one you had you would have had the one that everybody else got oh I'm talking because I always know what I'm talking when y'all don't say nothing I learned to better my sermons or the quieter you are the louder you are I just did a terrible job so keep it up I'll be here all day I'll make this summer so loan that the eleven o'clock people to come in and block Church and over nope y'all come on and sit down and join the family so just we just talking don't trust the child we'll do it what thing are you feeling that's preventing your destiny i Lord I want to I want to own my own house God how you gonna do that if you spend $300 a month alcohol I mean they're people who got liquor on their shelf and behind it ring why are y'all so quiet what's wrong with you your Madison if the Sufi [Music] point number one you gonna have to cut it off John 15 and one I am the vine my father is the husband man in order for the vine to grow it has to be cut it has to be pruned there are some things that have to be cut to grow when we used to have a house we used to have bushes in front of it and my mom would make me go cut it and I would always ask her why am i cutting it because we wanted the bushes to be tall and she would tell me son you have to cut them in order for them to grow because the dead branches are stopping the living branches from producing see that's the problem yo livin self and your dead friends they are in opposition to you going up and God says I very well intend for you to go up I intend for you to win I intend for you to reach your dreams but there is one cost of admission something you're gonna have to how many y'all know something you got a cut raise your hand now don't take this sermon Rome because cutting it ain't always something near moral cutting it ain't always something terrible sometimes you just got to cut show negative cycle of thinking sometimes you gonna have to cut that heart heart okay it's not always oh I got a cutaway a habit I got a cutaway drinking I got a cutaway smoking smoking and drinking and everybody's problem some of your lungs are clear but your mind is clouded ain't nothing wrong with your liver it's just something wrong with your word you won't keep it everybody got a problem good body bad intentions everybody got to find that thing and if I don't say nothing else I'm telling you that if you don't cut it if you don't win it if you don't get the thing that's feeding on you accustomed to feeding on something else and you won't go up I found out very quickly and it just happened just recently that God said to me that there is one thing not one thing but there was a key thing that is holding back some of the growth of our church and I asked God what they was he says there are some people who will leave if you're not there cuz they're there still sucking on you they don't come to church unless you preach they don't come to church unless you're in town and if you're not in town they stay at home see you're you stunting my growth because you sucking on me and and you're supposed to be connected to another source now you ain't got to say man I know I hurt your feelings just say ouch I am not your God I wouldn't have died on the cross for you I wouldn't a gave my back to the cross for you you don't plumb the church because I'm here you don't give because I'm preaching you come because he died and you give because he blesses now you put that in your pipe and you smoke it you better stop coming to church only one I'm here when I'm not cuz if that were the case I need to stop coming when you ain't here [Applause] alright y'all messin with me I don't play games y'all messing with me I gotta win you you don't just show up the stuff that I show up to you don't just come when I preach if God sends me to Africa that is not a day off if you want to show me you honor me fill the house when I'm not here the mark of a good teacher is that his lesson works when he's outside the classroom when you only come to church when I'm here you have made me my god you have made me your God and God is a jealous God and he'll have no other God before him so what you're gonna make God do is cut me off cuz you let me in between you and him I might as well going to tell you I don't love you like he do I don't love you like he do if you leave tomorrow i'ma cry but the next day I will be fine I don't have so many people leave me I didn't got used to it I don't love you like he do I love you you are eight but you I don't know you like God do I ain't about to go to no cross for you nothing like that it ain't like that I mean we got to get to know each other a little better I might visit you at the cross but I ain't gonna lay on it oh I'm not leaving my momma for you I gotta win you because you're hurting the elevation of the ministry by being so connected to me that you won't come if I am not here that you won't give if somebody else is preaching what kind of commitment is that you go to work when your boss ain't there you ain't never walked in Walmart and the owner was there tonight I just want to come with holder here I want to eat at restaurants what on the eat all the person who could fix my teeth it's a person who owned the Dentistry everywhere else you let a surrogate do the job holla back [Applause] I am your priest but I am NOT your God if I'm not here you be here because he has called me to the nation's and I have a responsibility to go into all the world teaching them that they might be baptized in the name of the Father Son and Holy Spirit lighthouse there are people across the world who still don't have the Bible translated in their language and God can't come back into all men I've heard the gospel so the longer you hold me the longer we gonna be to here till he comes I need you to be weaning get off of the milk get on the meat you don't just come to church when you feel good bring your attitude and sit right in these pews and when that worship hit and then Holy Ghost come how many y'all know came here without a - but when you left you say I ain't got no worries you need to cut it I don't care who teaching the class I can't teach all of them I teach all the classes then all the classes gonna be the same they ain't gonna be doing that many sermons y'all gonna hear the same sermon for two weeks if that's the case I'll be preaching the cost of a cut on Tuesday Bible studying to hear teaching it at at Lighthouse University like wherever we heard that I know but you wanted me to do it all right back up think I got y'all together a little bit I only work for a few y'all something I'll say I don't care what you say Reverend I want you to marry me you don't marry me then some people change their whole wedding day just for me to do it you don't push a wedding date back no year waiting on me that girl gonna leave you he's better somebody say you gotta win yourself number two not only did hunter cut him off Hanna counted the cost here's what the Bible says how many of you who have not set down to build a tower hasn't first counted up the cost I think that some people asked God for something they haven't appraised first do you know how much it's gonna cost to maintain what you're asking for like you want to be the kind of person who has enough anointing that you can speak those things that are not as though they do you know how much prayer and fasting it takes to have that kind of power you you want to be knowledgeable in the word you don't do that breezing through the scripture you got a study to show yourself approved that you might be able to not preach the word but rightly divide it are y'all with me so far how many y'all are helping just raise your hand if I'm helping you okay do me a favor the people didn't raise your hand give them high five and say you'll be all right fine watch this baby when when when when Hannah went to give Samuel back to the Lord she went and the Bible says she brought a Bullock to sacrifice I thought that was amazing because when I studied the Bullock the Old Testament writers say that the Bullock or the bull was the preferred sacrifice in the Old Testament in fact in some religions and some cultures a bull sacrifice is a surrogate for human professor so the bull was the best sacrifice that you could give not only did she bring a bull but she brought flour she brought all of this as a way to sacrifice for Samuel but God says the bull is nice thank you that flower it's gonna come in handy cuz I got a woman in a couple of books she's gonna be running out of it that's all good but I don't want your bull because I created it I don't want what you're willing to give me I don't want your bull not depta bull isn't sufficient I don't want it because it's what you're offered first I don't want your flower I want the thing that you kept because the sacrifice is only when you give me what you still need it's not a sacrificial offering because you could afford it it's a sacrificial offering when you have to think if you give this what am I going to do I want Samuel I will I'm gonna teach y'all today I'm trying to get you somewhere Abraham bring me Isaac god I waited 90 years to get him I don't care notice he didn't ask for Ishmael he would a gay instrument problem here you can have them you don't know how much trouble unit cause in my house right I want the promise I want the promise and the reason why throw God Thank You Holy Ghost the reason why I want the promise is to show you I'm a promise keeper you keep warning God to keep a promise God's trying to show you he's a promise keeper if you give God the promise he'll keep it so when he brings Isaac up there's a ram in the bush because God will only take what you don't want to give when you don't want to give it but when you're willing to give it that's when you can keep it and the reason why you're losing so much is because you're keeping so much there is nobody in here given that's loosen oh god help me in this place there is no Tyler in here that is tithing honestly and consistently that God is not blessing why here is the word of God and my God shall supply all of it I need every time that is stand up in this house and make the devil out of life you can't be God given no matter how hard you try the more you give to him I need every time that a shout I'm tired of having to bless people shout and the people who got healed from Kansas shouting and the people who got healed from lupus shouting I need givers to shout I need tithers to sell I decree in the class if you will tithe you can pay bills with no job who am I talking to you where's Tim at am i right God will let you start a business after you quit your job with no money in your pocket why because when you give to him he presses it down he shakes it together and it still runs over I need somebody who knows I'm telling the truth to open up your mouth and say God thank you Lord for all you've done for me Bridget she took her only son that she had to pray for and weaned and then turned around and gave it back you see this is what what hurts some of us is because we think that since we put so much work into it we ought to bear to keep it oh god don't know what she want to keep I mean what you want to give he wants what she want to keep that offering that you think uh-uh that's the one he wants you know when you pass by all those hundreds and go to that dollar let me tell you the universal Christian sign that you give an offering you ain't got no business give me this see when you boil it up and don't want nobody to see it because when you give it something that you're proud of you black come on now you ain't never seen nobody ball up a honey whenever they give a hundred a B like this see y'all know I ain't telling no lies all that praying all that fasting all those hours in school all depression paying you had to go through just to get somebody to babysit your child just to get it all that paint all that pressure all that's in there and did God says I want it all those tears you cry for it all of the ridicule you went through to get it sometimes you soaked your pillow at night crying for it yeah to walk away from your family in because they didn't understand it some of your family tried to write you off when you left a family church and came over here so you could grow they tried to write you out of the will because you had enough courage to wean yourself off of a church that wasn't feed-in you and you refused to stay low because your granny went there y'all ain't got to say that I can say it for my son a grown man you don't go to no church that's because your grandma I get that sometimes you got to wing yourself up here you got to grow and say I got to go somewhere with somebody feeds my soul and somebody preaches to my situation and somebody who can help my family get out of this pit because if you stay there with them both of y'all gonna die nobody better feed you some of y'all God wings so that you can grow up because the people who drainer you're gonna need to feed on you one day and she had a son and took that Joker right back after 9 months of labor a sciatic nerve stretchmarks big nose swollen face hair fell out chocolate covered french fries swollen feet back hurt looking in the mirror and don't like herself had the baby snapback and gave him away because it costs to be cut they don't cost you something it ain't from God you don't cry for it it ain't from God if you don't know how you're not gonna make it sometimes you don't come from God if you don't feel like giving up sometime in the real vision if you don't feel like quitting it ain't a real purpose sometimes they go cry sometimes they're gonna give up sometimes your hearts going to be broken sometimes you go lose friends and guess what sometimes you're going to be going somewhere that you said God told you to go and you don't even have directions it costs it costs you acts the bhalo of oil how much it costs to be olive oil the bottle will tell you five dollars you ask the olive how much it cost the Oliver tell you it costs me everything some of you got to be crushed and pressed because it cost Oh God it costs to have a business cause to be a mummy cost it be a daddy look at me it costs to be somebody wife you don't want to be nobody wife so you can have a a cheaper rent in a bigger place to stay you don't be nobody husband because because you want to have a nice trophy on your arm it costs to do it right I wish I could speak to every young woman in here don't you don't you mess around and have no baby too early it's gonna cost you more than you got you say no this ain't no reality show this ain't no teen mom's show this is real life ain't nobody gonna be following you around with no camera you're gonna be at the Ritz store trying to get milk and cheese it costs to hold yourself until your husband come they gonna talk about you they're gonna make fun of you but so what they were actually for advice on a job in ten years help me in this search Lloyd you might not feel it but I feel the Holy Ghost let me tell you how to story and she cut him off and she counted the cost she brought a bull lock but God says I don't want no bull I want the boy here we were to call CPS on them she brought her baby to church and walked away and left I don't think she didn't cry I think she cried I don't I don't think that she was nonchalant I don't think she was angry happily she was hurt what mother could cut the cord and see her placenta and see the blood see father's maybe but not Mama's baby she said because for the Lord you can happen after she cut and counted she was compensated because the Bible says that Eli prayed for her and after she gave Samuel back to the Lord the Bible says that her and elkanah went home and he went into her and she had three more sons and two more daughters because let me tell you you can't beat God given no matter how hard you try the more you give to him the more he's gonna give to you I came to tale 348 of y'all in this place today God said if you'll give me one thing I'll give you five things back in return I don't know who I'm talking to but I need somebody right now to be able to start praising God in advance that he's about to multiply what you've got to give him somebody in here you're about to get cut you're about to give it but God says I'm getting rid of multiply it I need everybody who understands that you're walking into a season of multiplication to give your God a praise the cost was great but the compensation was greater and I want you all to hear me they're saying mysticism this isn't sensationalism this is scripture the Bible says that before she had ever Johnny before she had ever had her two or three more sons two daughters which was a total of six children that came out of her womb that the doctor said it wouldn't happen here's what the Bible says that before she ever had the children Eli had already predicted it I prophesied in the name of Jesus as the priest of this house that you better bring more buckets because you're gonna have more oil than you thought God says the oil is going to stop flowing at your last bucket if you bring me three buckets I'll give you three oil three buckets of oil you bring me ten I'll give you ten it's gonna stop flowing where your faith cut off I prophesy that your businesses will be profitable I give a word of knowledge then Healing will enter into
