this is a day that the lord has made and we shall rejoice and be glad in it i don't know what you logged on to do today but i hope it was to magnify the name of the lord the bible says that the name of the lord is a strong tower and it is the place where those of us who believe in him run in to be safe and to be saved this has been a week for some of you like no other but our god is greater our god is stronger he is higher than any other he is awesome he is magnificent he is forgiving he's long-suffering he's graceful and every day you wake up the scripture says there are new mercies that are available we praise and we give glory and honor to god for he is i know this is an old school term but he is the head of our life i've got to work for you today and we're going to continue in our still in the book of genesis and i can tell you that this series still has some gas in the tank that um i don't see the end in sight uh for for another several weeks but um i believe that based on your comments and your reflections that this is helping you and as long as you're helped we'll stay right in this vein let's go to genesis chapter 30. genesis chapter 30. i want you to go to verse 25. and the bible says in genesis chapter 30 verse 25 it says and it came to pass when rachel had borne joseph remember last week we talked about how rachel finally gave birth that she watched three other women have 10 other children by her husband she hung in there and she's finally able to give birth and the bible says that jacob said to laban send me away that i may go unto my own place and to my own country he says give me my wives and my children for whom i have served thee listen to these three words he says let me go for thou knowest my servants which i have done thee and label laban said unto him i pray thee if i have found favor in thine eyes that word tarry it means to stay for i have learned by experience listen to this i've learned by experience that the lord has blessed me because you were here wow and he said appoint me thy wages in other words pay me and i will give it and he said unto him you know how i've served you and how the cattle that belonged to you was with me it was little when i got here and now it has increased unto a multitude and the lord has blessed me since my coming and now when i shall provide for my own house also i want you to go back to verse 30 when it says and it is now my time to be blessed here it is and the lord hath blessed thee since my coming and now when shall i provide for my own house verse 31 and he said what shall i give thee jacob said thou shalt not give me anything wait a minute you went through all of that jacob and when it came time to get paid your response was you don't want anything jacob says yeah i don't want anything because god has already promised me something verse 32 i'll pass through the flock i'll remove the speckled from the spotted in the brown and the spotted and the speckled and the goats so shall my righteousness answer for me in time that's enough i want to talk on this subject for anybody who's watching who has been in the cycle of anticipation anybody who's ever had a dream not yet realized anybody know that god said something to you but you're still waiting here's here's the word still waiting on the manifestation of it i want you to repeat after me but i want you to believe it i don't want you to just say it i need you to believe it repeat after me say it's my time to be blessed that's what i want to talk about it's my time to be blessed have you ever heard of the statement the reason they couldn't get along is because they were too much alike have you ever heard that statement where maybe it's siblings or maybe it's people in the relationship and they stay in in an environment of combativeness can't seem to figure out and most often it is assumed that the reason those two people cannot get on the same page there's an old colloquialism that says those people are two sides of the same coin typically a coin is diversified by different sides namely heads and tails and you'll know which side of the coin you're dealing with based on heads or tails but there are fake coins that's used in magic and fake coins that are used in other uh areas where both sides are either heads of both sides of the tails and if you flip it it doesn't matter it's always going to be the same because both sides of the coins are the same same way with personality sometimes it's difficult to get along with people because of the similarities but when i heard that statement for the first time never will forget i was on 111th and halstead at a church called low gas logos baptist assembly where dr donald parson was the pastor and i can see him standing there in the pulpit and asking this question over 25 years ago have you ever heard people not being able to get along because they're too much alike and then he went on to say how can you not get along with somebody who's just like you unless you don't like you it is impossible to not get along with somebody who's just like you unless you don't like you and it is hypocritical to like somebody or dislike somebody who's like you and still like yourself this is what is happening right in the beginning of this text because laban and jacob have issues with each other but they're two sides of the same coin they're both known for negotiating people out of what is rightly theirs let's go back to jacob we do know that i've been defending him and this court case has been lasting weeks i'm getting ready to rest the case but we've still got a few more closing arguments but jacob is not innocent here because it is true that he has rather inadvertently or intentionally he has tricked his biological brother esau out of his birthright and his blessing and it was also brought to our attention as we spoke last week that people who are guilty should not be so analytical that that when you are as guilty as jacob a memory should kick in before judgment and so now this other side of the coin is facing down the barrel of another gun looking at somebody who is now treating him the way he once treated his brother because now jacob is the victim of his own craftiness because laban now has tricked jacob into believing that if he worked seven years for his daughter that he would be able to take rachel and they would be able to go off into the sunset and their lives would be happily ever after and after the end of that seven years he comes back and says it is not our custom to give the younger daughter to be married before the older daughter but guess what if you'll work another seven years then i will give you what you worked for and now jacob is right back at square one working another seven years to receive the woman that he thought he would receive after the first seven years are you still with me so in our texts what has taken place is that laban and jacob these two people who are just alike laban and jacob these these two sides of the same coin are now at a place where they have to renegotiate the original contract that was stated that if i worked seven years that i would get the daughter and if i worked another seven years then i would actually be given what i worked for the first seven years and now they are here and a time has arisen where the relationship needs to be renegotiated but that is going to be a difficult task because it is difficult to negotiate when trust is absent i just need you to stick with me because this is going to help somebody trust is absent laban doesn't trust jacob jacob doesn't trust laban because there are two sides of the same coin so now there is a renegotiation that needs to take place but problematically there is no trust that is in there and i heard i heard it best say it this way without communication there is no relationship without respect there is no love but without trust there is no need to continue and so now they are trying to go forward without the very necessity that is necessary to move forward because now there is no trust between them and after years of the inability to produce a child in the midst of all of this distrust rachel now gives birth to joseph are you still with me this is going to help you now this woman who has watched three people give 10 children to her original husband now she has finally given birth to the best child out of the entire bunch rachel finally gave birth to joseph and after years of no communication from laban after years of no respect from laban and after years of distrust from laban now rachel gives birth to a son and now jacob finally rises up as a man and says you know what laban i have been here for 14 years i have worked my fingers to the bone i have respected you i have been loyal to you i have honored you i have worked for this woman i have worked for this wife i have worked for this lifestyle i made sure that all of your flock was always accounted for and i did not trust you and you did not trust me and you did not communicate with me and there was no reciprocity amongst us and yet i stayed loyal and i stayed faithful he says after all of that he says i've just got one request from you let me go let me go i have i've fought a good fight i have kept the faith i have finished my course i have been faithful over a few things now i am ready to be ruler over much let me go release me i've been faithful and based on what i see in you and what uh what you see in me and us being two sides of the same coin i cannot see how we can go any further he says let me go release me and the fact that jacob has to make this request i'm gonna make you wait and listen to this one today the fact that jacob has to make this request proves that there is a lack of communication because remember after the first seven years he had to go to laban and ask him for the thing that they had already negotiated he had to ask him for it he didn't come and communicate it to him so he has so now the same issue is taking place and another issue services now because he now you got to go to genesis chapter 31 verse 41 to find out matt that now after working seven years for rachel to only receive leah then he has to work another seven years to receive what he should have gotten after the first seven years genesis chapter 31 tells us in verse 41 that there's another six years added to the 14 that he does not actually just work for laban for 14 years as most of us say when we spew this story the actual truth is is that he worked two decades he worked 14 for the women but yet there was another six added on for the flock because remember he had to work another six years uh to get the livestock to get the payment to get the reciprocity to get the paycheck that was owed to him jacob says i got what i came for i got the woman i've got the children i've got the livestock in the midst of no communication in the midst of no trust in the midst of no respect i didn't change who i was i stayed loyal and i stayed faithful i stayed prayed up i kept going to church i was honorable i kept my temper down i didn't i didn't lash out when you did me wrong let me go everybody shout let me go there comes a time where you have to tell your past let me go there comes a time where you have to tell the thing that is holding you hostage let me go how do you think that israel was able to get out of egypt it came to a place where moses had to go and tell them that god said let my people go and i came to tell you that god has just made an announcement on the thing that is holding you back god told me to tell you it's about to let you go slap yourself slap your dog slap your cat go slap the goldfish and tell them god said let me go it is time for them to be let go he says i've been working for 20 years i have stayed i have stayed i have been faithful i have been loyal and listen after he says all of that you better lean into the television lean into the phone lean into the ipad because sometimes you think that when a person misuses you they don't understand your value don't make the mistake of believing that just because a person doesn't pay you right they don't know how much you're worth the bible says and this is what labor says he says if i have found favor in your eyes stay if i found favor in your eyes stay that's verse 27. now why did he want a person that he wouldn't communicate with why would he want a person that he didn't trust why would he want a person that he doesn't respect to stay in his house read the b part of verse 27 and it will show you are you ready for what i'm getting ready to tell you this is what labor says he says the reason why i want you to stay here it is i have learned by experience that the lord has blessed me who because of you i can shout right there and run around this empty church by myself laban found out that jacob caused the blessing to come upon his house he did not allow the lack of communication he did not allow the lack of respect he did not allow the lack of trust to alter who he was in spite of the length of time in spite of the dishonesty he never got bitter and he never betrayed him and laban finally says you are an asset to me and god told me to tell you that if you are faithful something is getting ready to happen over your life for anybody who's ever been uh of the victim of mistrust and distrust for anybody who's ever been in the situation where there was a lack of communication for anybody who's ever been done just like this god told me to tell you that that affliction is getting ready to turn into acknowledgement i don't know who that word is for but some of you all have been depressed because all of your life you've never been acknowledged but god told me to tell you to get ready to anticipate acknowledgement somebody said acknowledgement in this next season of your life they're going to have to acknowledge the gift that you bring to the table in this next season of your life they're going to have to honor what you bring to the table in this next season of your life is going to have to be acknowledged that if it were not for you that the thing would not have taken place i know all of your life you have been degraded i know you've been put down i i know you've been ignored but god says you're getting ready to walk into a season of acknowledgement somebody say acknowledgement and as a result of being acknowledged god allows him to do something i'm getting ready to shout god allows him to do something that most people don't get a chance to do laban says how much shall i pay you wait a minute wait a minute what did you say how much you're right if you were not here i wouldn't be blessed it's because of you my house was blessed it's because of you health was on this family it's because of you that the glory of the lord visited this house so how much god told me to tell you that you're getting ready to walk into a season where you're going to get to appoint your own wages you better hear what i'm getting ready to say he's i know that that that the boss that you work for has not acknowledged you i know that other people have been promoted above you i know that less qualified people have a job that you have a master's degree for i understand that you are you are you have a supervisor who can't handle who can't hold a candle to what the lord has downloaded in your spirit i know you have a manager managing you that really needs to be managed and here you are underpaid and overworked but god says that season is over in your life he says i'm about to acknowledge what you are i'm about to acknowledge who you are i'm about to acknowledge what you've done and i'm getting ready to give you an opportunity to appoint your wages and perhaps you've been overlooked watch this misread and misunderstood talk to me holy ghost but if you have been misread and misunderstood god told me to tell you you're getting ready to be able to pick your salary i need about 5 000 people watching me right now to find out how much money you can handle and shout the number out loud no no no you're not hearing me i didn't say shout ten thousand don't shout a hundred thousand god says you get to pick the salary somebody shot just because of what i've been through i declare i'm a millionaire i'm picking my salary for this season and not only am i picking my salary i'm picking my piece not only am i picking my pizza i'm picking my sanity because all wealth is not money my children are going to be healthy that's my salary my mind is going to be free that's my salary pick your salary god says i'm appointing wages to you god says i'm going to let you pick how much you want to make in this next season if you'll just shout it out i don't know how much you want to make and most people don't want to do this because you're afraid to make money because somehow christians believe that if you have money then something is wrong with you but i came to tell you the bible says he god says i have come that you may have life and that you may have that life more abundantly so i want to talk to all of the abundant saints who believe that you should be walking in a season of overflow can you pick your salary and type it in the chat right now type it on the wall and if you're in this room shout your salary listen to what god says i dare you to shout your salary because god says watch this i'm about to bless the ones are you listening who have been modest in your demand but liberal in your performance some of y'all for most of your life haven't asked anybody for anything you've you've been misused in ministry misused on the job misused in relationships and yet you stayed faithful the cattle was always accounted for well somebody ought to somebody's going to get that metaphor that that that correlation that that that you could have stole money from your mate but you didn't do it because your heart wouldn't let you do it god says because of what you did not do i'm about to let you set your salary god says you're walking into your season well number one it's your time to be blessed and you're getting ready to be acknowledged for your work everybody who's been misread and misunderstood shout i'm blessed i'm blessed i'm blessed i'm blessed in the city i'm blessed in the field i'm blessed when i come i'm blessed when i go it is your season to be acknowledged the next thing that happens in the text jacob said you know how i served you you you know how good i've been to you i was never once lazy never once did i show up late to work never was i irresponsible you never had to come looking for me he told his wives he says you know how i worked myself to death for your father he says to laban i worked in the heat of the day for you i worked in the freezing night for you this is all text verse 30 chapter 30 one verse six he says i worked when it was freezing outside for you in in chapter 31 verse 40 he says i worked so hard for you that i could barely keep my eyes open said i gave you all i had and he said thou knowest me in other words you know me you know me you know me every time you gave me sheep i gave you the same amount back if not more every time you gave me cattle i made sure that you got back exactly what you gave me i was faithful to you laban i did exactly what you asked me to do and what he says he says i also had integrity because when i came to your house you didn't have much when i came to your house you only had a few but but under my watch your feud has become a multitude he says you didn't have a whole lot so so don't be arrogant don't act like what you have now is what you had when i met you when i met you you didn't have much but now now what you have has been increased laban says all of that is true says you're right what shall i give you he's convicted what you're right i only had a little bit when you showed up and now i have much what's your price so how how much how much do you want what what is what is it that i can give you you're right you got me you nailed me to the wall you have increased my cattle the glory has been on my house i have misused you i have wronged you i've misread you i give all right name your price what do you want pastor rhema guess what he said nothing now i can see you all right i can see you online right now you're about to jump through the camera because ain't nowhere in the world you or me would have gone through 20 years worth of hell with somebody and got to the place where they finally recognized that they had put us through that hell and then said to you what is the compensation that you want for what i put you through and jacob said nothing before before i finished that i just thought that i needed to tell you that you have to get to the place where you don't need anything from the person who hurts you not an apology not an admission not an acknowledgement it's coming but if you're ever going to heal and become whole you have to get to a place where you need nothing from the person who took you through see this is where we get stuck because we always need an apology we always need somebody to say i'm sorry we always need an explanation and that leaves you stuck why because waiting on an apology from somebody who isn't sorry by the way waiting on an apology in order for you to move on is actually asking the perpetrator for permission to heal jacob is showing us that he did not need laban's anything to move forward the sign of immaturity is our need for somebody else's guilt in order for us to feel made whole he says you hurt me you didn't communicate i couldn't trust you you didn't respect me you underpaid me you lied on me and i still don't need nothing from you and you have to get to the place cause you're never gonna move on until you get to the place where you don't need an apology from the father who didn't raise you you're not going to move on and be whole until you don't need your ex to say i'm sorry for what i did you're never going to move on you're never going to move on you have to get to a place where your last pastor doesn't have to apologize so that you can get active in church so you can get over your church hurt i'm trying to tell you that you got to get to a place in your life where you don't need anything from the person who inflicted the pain he says i don't want nothing from you i don't need an explanation i don't need an apology i don't need acknowledgement i don't need anything why you said it earlier because i'm the blessing you can't bless me i'm i am the blessing you can't give me anything i'm your gift i don't need anything from you i'm trying to figure out how much more of me do you want because i keep figuring out the more of me i give you the more he gives me when you recognize that your blessing is giving yourself away how are you going to bless me i'm the blessing [Music] how you gonna bless me your house increased when i showed up yo help me holy ghost how you gonna bless me i've got so much dna in me that i have blessed your house and now my new son joseph is about to bless pharaoh's house i've got a generational blessing inside of me i'm the blessing and i birth blessings you can't give me nothing all i'm trying to figure out is how much more of me can i give you because i recognize that all of my blessings came from this position being a blessing not from being manipulative not from being arrogant not from being intelligent but from being a blessing your next blessing is wrapped up in you continuing to be a blessing he says he says ha i got it i'm helping somebody he says i don't need anything from you what else do you need from me because serving you got me leah serving you got me rachel serving you got me reuben simeone levi nefter like gas uh asher gad it got me all of those sons joseph all of that came from my service to you it wasn't easy but i got it it it wasn't a walk in the park but i still got it i had to cry some lights but i still got it i felt insecure but i still got it there's a cost to being a blessing too many people leave the position of being a blessing prematurely because pain will make you step out of the position but you have to learn to stand in it even when you don't feel like it he says i don't want anything from you keep your stuff keep your stuff i don't want nothing i don't want anything i don't want anything i don't need your apology i don't need your acknowledgement i need to find out how much more of me can i give to you laban couldn't handle that laban renegotiates the contract with jacob says okay okay okay okay i know what you said but this is what i'm going to do i'm going to give you all of the he-goats and the she-goats that are speckled and spotted and here he is renegotiating lying again and i'm going to make sure that all the brown sheep belong to you and go back and read your bible as soon as laban said those words the bible says that immediately he went amongst the fleet and took everything that he said he was going to give to jacob and took it three days away the ink wasn't even dry on the contract and lion laban has already reneged on what he said why are you waiting on an apology from somebody who isn't sorry even if you got the apology it would be empty laban wasn't sorry a leopard doesn't change his spots he took what he promised jacob gave it to his sons and the bible says he put three days distance between the man that he owed and now jacob is left with the leftovers everything that laban had promised him he took it away read verse 35 of our text he says and he removed it that day he didn't even wait until a week later before he had already he had already done that day what he said he wouldn't do but i feel like shouting because something has taken place jacob doesn't realize it in real time but something has taken place because so many of the animals that were for jacob in order for him to get what was his now he has to wait until the future comes because the current animals that he has has to produce the animals that laban just took so now his blessing after 20 years of waiting has now been deferred even more how many of y'all feel like that like even when it's my time it ain't my time they said they that wait on the lord shall renew their strength with baby i've been waiting and i ain't got no strength i ain't got no wings i don't feel like walking i worked seven years and didn't get it i worked seven more years and barely got it i worked another six and he stole it and what kind of religion is this what kind of god causes his children to go through so much pain what kind of god allows the anointed to have to walk through this mucking myriad clay can you hear jacob now the text doesn't say it but if he's human he got to be in his feelings he's got to be like was this worth it waited 20 years and now i'm finally getting ready to get what's mine and the person who was supposed to pay me stole it and he put three days distance in between him because let me tell you something i guarantee you jacob wanted to go to canaan the bible says that when he says let me go he wanted to go to canaan i guarantee you the text doesn't tell us but i guarantee you that the three days distance that laban put in between him and jacob was three days in the opposite direction of where canaan was so in order to go get what laban stole from him he was going to have to walk further away from what god promised him you miss what i'm saying remember canaan is the promised land and jacob is asking to be released so that he can go back to canaan laban has put three days distance in between him which means that if kanan is three days this way and laban is three days that way in order to go get what laban took he would be six days away from his destiny and every time you get even with somebody every time you track somebody down to give them a piece of your mind every time you abdicate and abandon your growth just to stoop down to laban's level you are further away from the thing that god promised you to go get the thing that the devil stole from you that if you waited what you have been left with could produce what you're chasing because if he would just wait one more season what god had given him was about to birth what he would have gotten from laban and the bible lets us know that he did not chase laban he had to wait to the future and all of a sudden one day his cattle got pregnant and all of a sudden one day his lambs gave birth and all of a sudden his livestock is plentiful because he didn't chase a promise he waited on destiny and by the time we get to verse 43 this is where i want to shout after being disrespected after no communication after 14 years of lies with another six added on and another fraudulent claim by the same man that has been misusing him for over two decades and after him refusing to take anything from laban because he realized who he was acknowledgement and the apology or the lack thereof he finally gets to addition god starts adding to his life look at verse 43 because it doesn't even matter what laban did the bible says look at this the man increased exceedingly listen and had much cattle made servants men servants camels and donkeys y'all missed it because if he had chased laban all he wouldn't all he would have gotten was the livestock that laban took but because he stayed in the blessed place because he stayed where god had told him to stay he didn't just get cattle he got menservants made servants donkeys and camels because when you stay in your position you'll always get more than the enemy took and the bible says jacob increased that's all i came to tell you that laban couldn't stop the blessing even when he stole it the bible says that jacob increased anyway i just dare everybody just type i'm going to increase anyway i'm going to increase anyway god bless jacob not because of what jacob did god knows he did a lot he blessed jacob this is this this could bring tears to my eyes if i let it he blessed jacob because he promised him he would oh my god jacob lied yes he did he tricked his brother out of his birthright and blessing he brought all kind of havoc into the house he tricked his brother out of a generational blessing for a bowl of soup how how more devious can you be he set up a cool where he made his father think he was his brother by putting on his mantle and received his brother's future that's pretty low but once he left started heading to haran something happened when he was in the middle of nowhere sleeping on the rock and the lord showed him a vision and all of a sudden there was a ladder from heaven to earth something's changing inside of him sometimes you think that when you change you ought to get to your next place and everything ought to be set up but what do you do when your heart finally changes only to run right into laban now that your heart is pure now you're dealing with somebody who whose heart isn't now that you have a glory on your life now you're dealing with somebody in idolatry and he gets to the place where he's finally changed but his circumstances don't match his change and for the next 20 years he reaps what he sows and you would think that his life would be over you would think if it were us we would believe this is it for me ain't nothing nothing's coming of this i've i've done too much i've i've fallen too low and the bible says that's one thing though jacob i promised your granddaddy abraham that i would bless them that blessed him and i would curse those that cursed him and i told your grandfather abraham and your grandmother sarah that you would be that they would be a blessed nation and i promised them that out of them would come a blessed seed his name was isaac your daddy rebecca your mama they had you and i know you tried to throw it away i know you tried to squander it i know but i did it because i promised abraham i would do it can i talk to somebody who feels like you've done enough in your life to throw away the blessing god told me to tell you he ain't doing it for you he promised your grandfather that he would he promised your mother that he would and the blessing that's over your life is not out of your perfection it's not out of your religious rituals it's not even because you can speak in tongues you can dance with the best of them but that's not why you're blessed you're blessed because you're the seed of abraham and i don't know who the abraham is in your life i don't know who that one person is in your life that god made a covenant with but you ought to be glad that you were born to that bloodline because the glory is hovering over your house if you believe it i just want you to begin to thank god where you are that you've been blessed in spite of i want you to get to that place in your life where you can imagine laban in your mind and all that he did or did not do all that she did or did not do and still not need anything from i don't need an apology i don't need a text i don't need a dm i don't need a retraction my life is blessed because of what i've been doing let me stay in this position so jacob says laban good offer but i don't need anything and go ahead and put distance between you and me i'm not going to chase you because you left me with enough to get everything that god promised me it's all about how you see it if you're watching me right now and you've never accepted jesus christ as your lord and savior he is the lamb of god and all we like sheep have gone astray but the bible says that my sheep know my voice and a stranger they will not hear if you can hear the voice of the lord as i am speaking to you right now he's saying come to me all ye are heavy laden and i will unilaterally and individually give you rest i will give you rest from laban i will give you rest from disease i will give you rest from stress i will give you rest from anxiety i will give you rest from depression suicidal thoughts anger vindictiveness jealousy whatever it is you can find rest in me do you feel it i want you to accept him as your lord and savior i want you to confess with your mouth that jesus is lord and believe that god has raised him from the dead come on everybody just at home just sing it with me say lord prepare me [Music] lord me come on and sing it where you are to be a saint you are [Music] pure and [Music] [Music] and with thanksgiving i'll be [Music] not for anybody else but just say it like you mean it lord for you oh lord prepare me to be a saint you were [Music] you can worship him right where you are pure and holy [Music] tried and true [Music] and with thanksgiving you want to give them glory i'll be [Music] let's take it up lord for you lord for you come on and sing it one more time all over america all over the world come on and sing it lord prepare me to be a sanctuary sing it from your heart say it pure and ho holy [Music] and true [Music] and with thanksgiving [Music] i'll be a living [Music] sanctuary lord for you [Music] for you for you [Music] lord for you [Music] right in this spirit i want you to prepare your heart to give i've always been taught to sow in the most fertile ground in order to put a seed in the ground it has to be broken up the seed has to get beneath the surface see when we preach old preachers used to call it till in the ground we're softening that ground so that when you plant a seed in this place you're
