welcome back everybody to heisenberg's factory what up duke are you getting jiggy with it welcome back to what could be the very last episode of resident evil village we're hoping to finish it this time and go through whatever torturous hell this is but we gotta go all the way up first um i foolishly exited the game without saving last time so i had to come back and i had to do i had to blow up those two giant armor dudes again i had to get the ball mold the key mold i had to put those in and then i had to go back and do the ball puzzle again and this time i did it first try i'm upset but look how visibly appealing this is it's so nice looking uh we should put one of these in could i hello i i don't get how this works i'm pressing f to change sometimes it doesn't i i don't know where we have it equipped now nonetheless so let's put the key in here i think we might just be doing a boss fight i'm not sure i've no shotgun ammo can i make any shotgun ammo no i can make almost nothing you really are a tough one yep but i'm tired of chit chat time to die no thanks uh prototype sturm use a cheap turbo prop engine but he's impossible to control all he does is charge too much power output from the reactor completely invincible head on but the dumbass managed to chop his own damn arms off on the propeller also issues with overheating from running for long periods of time conclusion a complete failure they're really a complete failure if he's ready to kill me sounds like you're using him for the majestic man that he is um also you said it's a turbo prop engine it feels series she seems to have infected herself with the mu tama seed which has granted her a number of abilities including mimicry she control her cells and transform herself to look like anyone or anything she disguised herself as mia and infiltrated the witness winter's home her objective was clearly to kidnap rose maybe she thought she could control rose or easier if she looked like her mom oh when we attacked it put a little damper on her plan so she mimicked a corpse she then revived herself in the transport truck killed everyone on board and took off with roads things didn't go the way she had originally planned but in the end she still got what she wanted until now it's time to rendezvous and blow this place sky high this might turn into a fight with heisenberg but i think i found something useful he left one of his little toys laying around and it's even made from a metal polymer composite which he can't control time to turn the tables alpha okay it's getting uh it's getting a little ridiculous um vampires and werewolves are too much apparently too silly so they had to turn it into like mold and uh cadeau stuff uh but you have a dude who's still able to just assume if i listen to the story again it'll make a lot more sense [Music] eva and miranda are they kid and the mother um that was really fun i i heard a lot of mixed things about it before it came out as i was playing it and but i i enjoyed the whole thing i thought that was great it had a bit of a slow start uh but i think that overall it was really really fun it's still like classic rezzy stuff i wish that some aspects of it played out a little longer than they did like all of the elements that are in it are good but together they don't really gel well like the stuff with the castle and lady dimetresk all that stuff was amazing and i really wish that that played out longer i wish that that was like a third of the game almost but it was over really quickly and maybe it was just a thing of hype and how the game was being marketed and everything they kind of doubled down and the tall lady once they realized people were meaning the [ __ ] out of it and i think that that kind of did a disservice to it because she wasn't in the game that much at all if anything heisenberg is the big bad for most of it and then miranda well i mean miranda is but miranda comes back like near the end and kind of wraps it all up and has to be the big bad for the sake of the story reasons but heisenberg is kind of like the red thread throughout everything kind of pulling everything around and who you kind of start off antagonized against i don't know i i feel like the section with the the beneviento house was really cool but it kind of works more standalone than it does in tandem with everything else the more section was fun um but i probably could have done without it to extend some of the other sections [Music] the girl was trapped inside a mirror her parents though had searched all day and at last arrived with rampant rage father fought the witch the mother's loving touch shattered the dark enchantment but the witch was strong and father yelled save our daughter so mother bore their child is just literally the same as the game story it's just a local tale the burnt forest is a grim reminder of father's sacrifice to this day any child who stares too long into the charred wasteland will be haunted by nightmares of getting lost while picking berries [Music] okay so yeah overall it's a really solid game i think that the atmosphere in it is one of the stronger entries in the rezzy franchise um i liked being able to have like this hub area that i could like come and go to and go back to and kind of get all of the items and i i'm such a huge sucker for like getting a gun and getting an upgrade for it then increasing its firepower and then going back to like areas and seeing how much stronger your weapon is that's why i love bloodborne so much and those types of games from frontsoft because it's that idea of getting a weapon cherishing that weapon using it a lot then powering it up so much and then seeing how much damage you now do versus what you used to do that feeling of progression is super fun and this resi iv resi v7 resi 5 all of the ones that i've played kind of have that element to it and feels i guess all the rezzies have that and i love that it's still just super satisfying to do i think that i wish this game had more to it because it's not a short game by any means it's still fairly long but it feels like i don't know it feels like all the elements that are in it are just too short like the castle with the lady is too short the section in the penitento's house was over super quick um moreau section was a little longer but a little weaker and then the factory was cool and that went on for a while so it feels like it has like all of these ups and downs and some parts are stronger than others and then some could be stronger but aren't fully realized and i don't know the reasoning behind that like lady demotress was going around the castle and like patrolling it looking for you but that section was so so short in hindsight that i just really wish that it went on a little bit longer it feels like all the elements are there but it just doesn't rise to its heights it doesn't rise to as great a game as it could be but what is there is still really really fun um i'm excited to go back and play it again i'm wondering what it's going to be like when you play it for like a second time over because some sections i imagine will feel like quite a drag because some of the other entries in the resi franchise are like seven and four are two of my favorites and two even like i said it goes four two and seven for me in regards to my favorite ones and two and four are just pure video game joy that playing it a second time is even better than the first time because the story is there and the story is decent but it takes such a back seat to everything else that's going on because all of the stuff that's happening is just pure gameplay and i think seven and eight are more on the sort of scripted story side of things they're like smaller they're bigger in scale um story wise like what's going on because like the environments are huge but then when you actually get into the the nitty-gritty gameplay elements of it it's all very small scale like the boss fights are in these tiny rooms all of the fighting that you're doing are in these tiny corridors and that's fine but then it feels like it could be a little bit more but i enjoyed it i think um i didn't like that it tied too much to the first stuff i feel like it can be its own thing i i like the ties to seven because i feel like it has two because seven and eight are dealing with the mold and ethan is back and it's a continuation of seven but i don't think it needed to tie into the first game i think the first game can just be a virus you can just let the virus be gone and be dealt with or have a little bit of it still kind of left in the world and then just move on to the mold it doesn't have to be like so if i'm understanding this right they said that the mold miranda and spencer worked together she went off and worked more on the mold and then spencer went off and used sort of the stuff that they studied and turned it into a virus and started doing that stuff and then you have like resi one and two and all those with birkin and the t virus and then this is just dealing with the mole like i think they can just be they are separate but i don't think it had to tie back into it too much i don't know i feel like early rezzy games could just be their own thing and we can just move on and the first person rezzy games can be their own thing as well um because then you have four that had the las plagueis which was just like a parasite and that kind of feels like it's its own thing as well it fits into the overall world but i feel like in my head it's just kind of its own thing i don't know i feel like the story is just a mess in these games there's just too much of it um i just i don't know why you need to bring back ethan then for all of this i don't know maybe you guys enjoyed it more than i did in regards to the story but um everything else i'm i'm i point out the things that i feel like are weaker because the other stuff that's great i feel like i've been singing its praises the entire way through i'll just do it again art style and art direction and graphics are some of the best i've ever seen in any game i think that the use of material properties the use of like just the artists that they have and the sort of aesthetic that they made with the dark wood and the gold trims the snowy woods the big castle the like romanian type of architecture the mountains in the distance this is the best visually i think that resident evil has ever been um sound design still kind of sucks their sound design has never been their strong suit they use a lot of really stock sound sound effects and the weapons all have like a really thin quality to them they don't have like the bite and the meat and the brut kind of like bassy chunky meat to them that i would like them to have a lot of the sounds of the monsters and a lot of the sounds of everything like they're fine they're just a little thin sounding is that rose do you think the little boy will be able to touch the moon nobody can touch the moon's too far away wait what if he has a rocket ship uh okay then you can touch it but it'd be very very cool it together rose you're a lot like him you know who are you i know okay so rose grew up to be a super weapon does that mean there's somebody walking does that mean she can feel his memories because there's a shared consciousness in the mold wait who's that the father story is now done okay ah results standard difficulty completion time eight hours and 56 minutes so just shy of nine hours nice oh that's why the key looks like that is to make a my seat around miranda's stuff your difficulty level is available the difficulty can be selected when starting a new game following okay consider figures challenges completed challenges list complete okay uh the following movies have been added to the movies in the bonus menu oh cool i can actually look up stuff on how it's made i love that [ __ ] i remember looking at stuff for soul reaver and god of war back in the day and it really got me into video games that's part of the reason why i love how video games are made and the lighting and the sound design and all that kind of stuff you now get the following weapon the extra content shop for the main story wcx nice 56 000. uh i'll save over this one just in case cool we did it i'm glad we got through it cool game yeah so interesting what they're going to do with the next one then um are they going to go to europe are we going to play as chris just go back to chris keep playing those characters until you kill them off or something i don't know um i think that i think one of the the i think one of the aspects of seven and eight that i wish was better was that ethan is just such a shitty character like i know he does the hero thing at the end and he saves his kid and people who [ __ ] love twilight will go oh so what a king but it's like character development wise he just kind of stinks he's just such a bland blank sort of character he he never really rises to any sort of like great heights or the like every everybody else around him is like a a good character and they're kind of fleshed out but he's not really i don't know i just don't like him enough maybe because you never really see him and he's supposed to like represent you as the player that i just can't relate to him at all i'd rather it be first person but then just show the character have him interact with other people have him feel like a character instead of this sort of empty shell that the story is happening through his perspective i'm just not really a fan of that i've never really been a fan of silent protagonists anyway so that's more of a personal grievance but yeah i'm curious to see where they go next with it um i still think that they're gearing up for resident evil 4 remake and that will be a huge one because resi 4 is considered the best one by like seventy percent of the community most people who like rezzy games think that resi4 is the best one and even people who don't it's just um it's one of the most perfectly made video games it's paced well it's written well the gameplay is phenomenal keeps you on your on edge it's the difficulty scales up and down dynamically it's not regimented in a difficulty that you pick at the start it's just really really good um and i would love to see resi iv in this engine could you imagine how good that would look but i just hope they do it good i hope to give it the resi ii treatment and not resi iii the resident evil 3 remake was kind of stinky i didn't really like that i didn't when i finished rezzy 2 i was like [ __ ] i got to play that again same with seven same with four when i finished res e3 i was like eh i'm fine never playing that again um it's like a thrill ride but kind of lame at the end of the day so i hope that they give resi four like the just treatment that it deserves because it's the best one in the franchise to me um hopefully they keep it pretty pretty much you could just keep it the exact same just change a few little things in the like ui of the game and uh sort of what do they call it quality of life changes um and then just make it control the exact same with the exact same graphics well maybe make it control a bit like two um i don't know that would be my wishlist kind of thing it would be perfect uh but that does it for resi a would be curious to see what your thoughts are down in the comments below if you agree or disagree with some of the stuff that i'm saying open it up for discussion open it up for discourse have fun talk about it um one of my favorite elements of doing a series like this is formulating opinions about it and kind of like sharing that and semi reviewing it at the end that's why i talk so much at the end of each long let's play because we want to cap it off properly um but yeah still think art design uh level design even was pretty damn good and the graphics and visuals in general are some of the best that the industry can offer it's just so so good um again sound design is one of the it doesn't the sound design doesn't match the level of quality that the visuals have that's the way i'll put it it's serviceable but it's just a little eh it could be better um and then story wise it's whatever it'll come and go depending on how much uh how much you're kind of into this sort of story and how much you're into the resi universe as a whole because i'm not super into like the overall umbrella core or whatever and how it all ties together so i would be fine if it was just a story all in its own um i'm a little sad that uh chris wasn't like a werewolf or something i really thought when the game was coming out that chris was the big dude with the hammer and then the logo for the game has chris like half of chris's face half of a wolf face it's like just make the game about kristin why are you making it about ethan if you're never gonna show him and then you just meet chris every now and then and then chris is on the box art like that's stupid don't do that i really wish chris was like a lycan and he was dealing with that and then he came to romania to try and get solutions and answers to it and then met vampires that were like against him and then he had to fight other likens and vampires and stuff like go full van helsing on it make chris van helsing that would have been awesome and then the big bad is just dracula anyway that's resident evil 8 village i hope you guys enjoyed it another big series in the bag i'm really glad that we got to play this and i'm really glad that we did it every day and you guys got to enjoy it and i've been reading all of your comments and seeing how much you're kind of like into it and the running jokes and everything really fun sadly we couldn't keep the big booba joke going but we had some other good moments in there as well but that's going to do it thank you guys so
