Solo Overnight Building a Survival Hobbit House In The Woods and Applewood Bacon Pork Tenderloin

[Applause] who spooky all right that time again seven days have just flown by which gives you another solo overnighter in the woods so we're out here we're at the edge of the pines and there's debris as far as i can see dead trees down branches i'm thinking we utilize everything on hand and make a natural earth shelter let's get to it so here's what i'm thinking we have a tree right here it's almost at a 45 degree angle we have one next to it it slopes backwards as well so why not use all this dead stuff to my advantage and just lay them on there for a roof block the sides off with some debris or some dirt three walls we have a roof right here maybe a door a fourth wall fire out front easy peasy lemon squeezy [Applause] so right here we have fat wood which means we can start a fire using this material right here so along with our shelter our debris shelter our natural earth shelter we have a way to start fires now standing [Applause] let's go [Applause] that time again forecast but you never know so i need to address that roof and i'm thinking find some bark and shingle that bad boy and all we're going to do is start from the bottom and work our way up [Applause] didn't make that one be cooking out here in the dark which is fine but i prefer not to time on deck is 18 45 so that's 6 45 p.m and you can see it's getting dark pretty quick i think we have our time change this weekend where we're gonna jump ahead so yeah like spring forward so it'd be like 7 45 that sucks makes for a long day but we'll get more stuff done in my videos so i'm looking forward to that more get the shelter done get the fire done cook early dinner and then maybe do some more bushcrafty stuff or collect firewood everyone's favorite all right so 1924 7 24 pm pitch black like i said we got a time change i think sunday so it's going to be 8 24 so long days but enough of that for those that are wondering what this is and didn't bother reading the title we have double applewood bacon pork tenderloin potatoes and cheese whole pieces of bacon by the way potato outstanding that chunk of meat right there that pork tenderloin yeah oh dude it's pre-seasoned comes in a tube like this or a big like piece of plastic big chunk of meat like that not a tube meat tube no um the whole tenderloin i'm gonna cut it in pieces put it in there perfect dude this is great it's even better because i know this shelter right here probably the warmest shelter i've had even though there's no fire in there we have legit four walls and a roof on this so i closed that door my body heat is gonna stay inside there that wind screen right there is angled kind of like a 45 and it is just killing me right now with the heat i mean it's only you know mid march and it was probably 50 degrees today and it's gonna be about 45 tonight but right here it's probably about 80 and i'm loving it that chunk of bacon right there corporals hobbit house i gotta find my boy gandalf got that long ass pipe you know that wacky tobaccy you're saying this is the warmest i've been all year i'm loving this oh man it's probably 75 80 degrees right here but all i'm thinking is getting inside my shelter so i say we head on inside and get that candle lit we made that candle holder earlier i want to light that bad boy and see how much light we actually get inside here so let's do it and there we go so we have our windscreen back here piece of inner bark holding my candle basically baton small slit about an inch and a half place that inner bark inside there around the candle and through my windscreen simple candle holder check this out that's the light difference when you turn that bad boy outstanding and that's just a regular candle imagine those eight hour candles from yuko get two of these in here guarantee you have more enough light to read and get things done um the shelter right here my one regret is that i wish i had put down a layer of clay on the ceiling right here prior to putting my bark down or the moss but is what it is ran out of time so but i'm overall happy with this four walls four legit walls and a roof with a door can't beat that some people say your shelters are too small well actually a survival shelter you want it just a little bit longer than your body and one or two fist lengths above ceilings right here so i'm happy i'm on my side right now and i'm about two and a half inches from that roof i can turn around i have more enough room for my feet and i'm a happy capper so good to go and lastly to my legions i can't say it enough i love you guys without you i am nothing i appreciate every single one of you it's been a long 13 years and we're past 500 000 subs and we're climbing um just keep doing what you're doing watch my videos watch them all the way the blankie nothing like tea bag coffee in the morning actually pretty good tea bag coffee all right talk about the shelter real quick what do we do here we found two downed trees tree a and tree b simply added some logs for a roof give us that natural sloping roof did our skeletal frame on the outside with logs covered it with bark and then from there we went ahead and shingled our roof added our moss a door and then we completed a bushcrafty project our simple candle holder which turned out well so i'm happy with that long one day build but we got her done keep that copy and there you go another solo overnight for the books and like i already mentioned my one regret is i wish i'd taken the time to clay the roof first added that extra layer of insulation and security before i place my shingles
