Reacting to Arin's biggest FREAK OUTS - Game Grumps Compilations

hello everybody hi how you doing good to see you or welcome thank you i think we're feeling we're almost seeing you you can see us we are in our minds eye we're seeing every single one of you it's quite beautiful in fact yeah there's a lot of people we're we're doing another compilation today this time it is best of eager rapture aaron freaks out it's what the i'm amazed they were able to cobble together half an hour of you freaking out after the last seven years oh no this is the third one out of six i believe so fantastic good stuff um this was this was uh donated to us by the wonderful lesmo best of so thank you for letting us uh react to this thank you lesbo and uh in the words of philip d let's just jump into it all right here we go you know what i don't care you know what it doesn't even matter anymore i have reached zen listen man [ __ ] i do not want helpful chips you gotta you gotta pay attention to every little thing dude every little thing is coming at you it's coming at you like cleopatra [Laughter] [ __ ] [ __ ] [ __ ] [ __ ] oh my god [Laughter] wow okay hope this episode's titled aaron loses his purple mind why were you growing in a rock world i didn't even try we're only a third of the way through the episodes that happened for me all right all right this battle is for real might as well air the whole episode feeling about this one i'm i'm bringing it downtown you know right i'm playing music on the street i'm getting a noise complaint but you know what i don't even care because this is my art and [ __ ] here let's pause it this is it it was it's beauty it's great yeah you could you could run this whole episode the amazing thing about battle kid 3 is that or battle kid episode three is that even during episodes one and two i think we had no idea what was around the corner and what was about to happen i mean you were you were frustrated by that point but like we just didn't know and i think part of what made it so special was that even as it was unfolding in real time for us we were both thinking oh my god this is insane yeah there was there was a there was it was it was some kind of magic because like i wasn't i wasn't like playing it up or anything i i was like legitimately like getting really frustrated and like trying to find ways to like finish it like the whole the whole thing about like because we developed this whole thing where it was like oh you should just like improvising or whatever and it was it was like that was the moment where it just kind of happened where i was like well you know it was already saying something and then the plant came in so i just kept saying it and it like kind of made me a little better and it was like oh maybe maybe there's something to this yeah every now and then you have an experience in your life where you're like okay my life is one thing before this and one thing after and battle kid episode three was was that for us we walked out of that room changed men changed men indeed let's let's continue cool like watching slack-jawed in awe of you like improvising a crazy monologue while you do this [ __ ] it seemed like it was helping actually oh okay one day i was walking down the street i met a guy named carl carl was nice because he gave me some ice cream god damn it i got i started on the [ __ ] story and then i messed up caught a big old case of the [ __ ] used a big old case of the [ __ ] you that's what i'm talking about i get that every time i order a sandwich at some point oh my god yeah yeah i could watch this anytime yeah if there's somebody but like everything about subways is like infuriating really yeah it's like the people in front of you take too long and like there's no drive through and like it's it's just all i don't know i'm over exaggerating obviously but not over exaggerating because it's like i have to be okay and they're like what do you want and i'm like uh sweet onion chicken teriyaki foot long on flat bread and then they're like what bread and bread and they're like oh okay and then they they [ __ ] take and they're like did you say foot long yes i said foot long yeah and like you want cheese you already have so many like bad experiences with the place that like it becomes self-fulfilling prophecy like the second you walk in they're like hi how can i help you and you're like oh with this [ __ ] it's like you want cheese it's like yeah can i get um swiss cheese and they're like what kind and it's like [ __ ] you yeah you know the kind i just said and they're like toasted and it's like of course tote you can't have the flat bread and not toast it you have to toast it it's it's like spongy gross starchy ass [ __ ] bread it's made to be toasted wow of course i want it toasted and then they [ __ ] toast it and then they start helping the people behind you and then it sits in the toaster for like 20 seconds longer than it's supposed to wow and you're like i just want lunch this is where i realized you were losing take it out it's like another person and then you have to [ __ ] get a read on their personality it's like god damn it and they're like what do you want and i'm like uh spinach and then they just [ __ ] destroy it with spinach just like an avalanche of spinach and you're like i want like five other things you can't just fill it up with spinach and think that's all it's gonna be wow wow and then you [ __ ] it and then you're like onion and they're like okay and they put like two onions on it and it's like more onion please and then when you like get some weird combination like [ __ ] could i get mayonnaise and also sweet onion sauce they finally they like throw up their eyeball uh eyebrows a little bit like and you're like don't [ __ ] judge me ellie would i i can make my own sandwich don't [ __ ] oh boy what a classic it really is it's funny too because we just did a reaction thing where we watched uh uh brandon turner's animated version of that and it's funny because his version is all i've seen in years it's been a long time since i've seen the actual video game footage yeah and it's such a different experience it's funny to see how at some point i just stopped trying to avoid the yellow mystical laser that turns you into a rabbit because i was laughing too hard i was just thinking [ __ ] it i'll just be a rabbit now we're paying enough attention to it it's true and there's all the dude i could rant about so many other stuff i mean because it's just because i hate the subway experience period but like like taco bell for example you drive up and they're like do you want what kind of sauce do you want like oh mild please and they're like okay and then you drive up and they're like do you want sauce and it's like yeah i said mild and they're like okay cool and then they they come out and they're like hey what kind of sauce and it's like dude what do you mean what kind of sauce have you ever uh have you ever heard trapped at the drive-thru by weird al oh it's classic it's so classic but there's that moment where he's singing about the guy at the window and it goes and he's looking at me and i'm looking at him and he's looking at me and i'm looking at him or something like that but it goes back and forth back and forth forever and at the end the guy's like what did you say it's such a it's such a shared human experience god so is sorry i had to readjust my leg and it made it look like there was an earthquake going on at my house oh that's okay it's fine sometimes there truly is yeah in my heart let's let's let's take a look at the next one okay don't [ __ ] judge me we're playing [ __ ] [Laughter] [ __ ] dude holy [ __ ] let me tell you guys how are you okay oh god actually that looked really bad oh you okay what happened what happened you fell yeah double happened we uh we were looking for a game to play i'm just sitting here on the couch and aaron exploded into the room and was like [ __ ] you we're playing gumball and that is everything we know up to this point do it aaron double is a game for experts what is this game aaron what are you what the [ __ ] do you mean what is this game it's gobble makes me feel like you and i have a connection yeah do we um that we both love [ __ ] this game turn it off it's over i can't keep up this charade anymore this is the worst game ever made i don't know i'm kind of getting into it ever made well wait oh yeah dude i cleared it with zero seconds all right oh i want to [ __ ] kill myself all right so [Laughter] oh that's it for gobble huh yeah geez jeez you really did make the decision in your heart to to to really embrace gobble and it was a powerful moment and it scared the [ __ ] out of me too because i i was reading a book or a magazine or something in in the grumps room and yeah you really kick down the door like nobody expects the spanish inquisition you know those old monty python sketches nobody expects gobble yeah it just i i jumped it's like when i bust in on my dog uh eating garbage or doing something that she's not supposed to be doing and she's just like oh oh we're okay it was definitely one of those days where i think we just like maybe we had just finished a long series or something and it was just kind of like i don't know what to play next and then and then i was just like going to the game wall and i was like i don't i don't know and just getting so frustrated and then i just see [ __ ] gobble and i'm like yeah i look at it and it looks like the stupidest [ __ ] i've ever seen and i'm like i don't whatever fine and then so i just run it i'm like [ __ ] you we're playing gobble and you did not enjoy the experience no and it's been a while since we've done one of those episodes where it was just like full commitment to a bit where like mickey mouse could paid where well sure it's not really so much of an episode as it is an experience it's easier to fully commit to a bit when the episodes are only 12 minutes long that's right if you fully commit to a bit after half an hour people are generally gonna think okay yeah they really drop that out boys yeah totally all right let's see what's next okay mark mistakenly ordered me nine pizzas i wasn't sure if i should keep them or not because i really enjoy pizza but when i opened them up it was pineapple and ham and i don't like ham and i'm allergic to flavors you saw how close i got though it was so good they changed colors keep talking about pizza [Laughter] oh my god nintendo would have never allowed this game to exist rocket the hedgehog was a lonely young hedgehog in the sock dad damn it [ __ ] i can't talk about sonic fan fiction that's too much all right were you gonna cross rocket raccoon with sonic maybe cool here we go okay um uh i knew a guy named jesus i asked him hey isn't your name pronounced jesus and he said no my mom is very religious and i said wouldn't that have prevented you from having the name jesus and he said [ __ ] oh man so funny fantastic it's interesting to see like where your mind goes when you when you completely turn off that filter part of your brain and just spout garbage yeah especially when that's i feel like there's something to that too because it's like i'm i'm probably using that part of my brain to like play the game so then it's just this like unjudging stream of consciousness that's coming out the other side of the brain and uh yeah some weird [ __ ] yeah i enjoyed that you mentioned pizza and ice cream that's what's in your subconscious it's just ready to come out at any moment well i remember the reason i said mark mistakenly ordered me nine pizzas because for some reason in my mind i was thinking about that that mnemonic that you remember the planets from where it's like my mother ordered me nine pizzas or something like that oh yeah and then that became about some guy named mark who got me pineapple pizza that i got allergic to i don't know it's just there's a mishmash of memories and new concepts there's so many layers to that onion i feel as though we could watch battle kid forever and always learn something new about the experience it's like citizen kane but for let's plays yeah yeah sure cool let's watch this jesus and he said [ __ ] it's like citizen kane [ __ ] [Laughter] that'll never happen dad hey there we go it's totally hold on hold on quiet [ __ ] okay hold on i think i think i have to activate it by like going in here okay whoa what what what the [ __ ] is this like what what the [ __ ] just happened real now can we walk on it what the [ __ ] what the [ __ ] oh i miss sonic boom so much sonic boom really might be if not my favorite playthrough we've ever done way up there it was the gift that kept on giving it truly was because there's so you know it to to come up with something that we have to play in the day is like its own like it's its own effort that it's like all right man okay is that going to make for a good episode i'm not sure let me think it through but when we had sonic boom and we just knew we were going to come in and we were going to do 14 episodes of sonic boom it was just like it was like going on vacation it was so much fun and it and it was programmed as if we were in a fun house where you never knew what was going to happen and it was intentionally designed to mess with your mind but it wasn't intentional they they really tried uh i'm sure they were under horribly constrictive deadlines and that's why the game turned out the way it did yeah but it was so funny much in the same way that sharknado is amazing but the other shark nato movies that are intentionally trying to recapture that terribleness um they don't connect the same way sonic boom had that beautiful perfect balance of they really tried and it's insanely terrible chef kiss indeed my friend poor red button i don't think they exist anymore probably thanks to sonic boom well i just wish we could talk to their quality assurance department because we never got a chance to really end we did we got an email from one of them we did we that's that's the but that only like wet my appetite for more such a deep rabbit hole to dive down just wanted to know more all right here comes more battle kid i love it changing my mind i'm very glad we did a third episode of this radical republicans really wreck my rectal rap go for a little bit i was going to say region sorry that'll make it way too hard for you okay okay you need the not thinking story i need the not thinking stories all right verbal barfing it comes something that comes from the heart yeah purple plants make me feel uncomfortable when i walk towards them they say hey erin how's it going and i say it's going okay but it's not really going okay i just didn't want to share my emotions with the purple plant cause [ __ ] i don't know him he's not damn it god [ __ ] i think i injured myself i think you're gonna do it i mean injure yourself not succeed check out battle kids uh face when the door closes and like he's just like oh [ __ ] jerry wrestled bears for a living but he wasn't happy with it so instead he changed his profession to golfing he wasn't happy with that either he just realized he was an unhappy dude in general so he saw a psychiatrist and the psychiatrist [ __ ] god damn it this is as hard as fighting an actual 20-foot plant monster [Music] wow okay i haven't made that sound in a while i'm more like a 60-foot plant monster jennifer dumped me jennifer dummy is incredible [Laughter] you know you know it's getting real when it gets like that sort of like back of the throat kind of yeah yeah kind of nasally i was gonna say that you there's a different quality to your voice when you say jennifer dumped me it's sort of a jennifer dumped me you you could sort of hear a like you you're not going to cry but you could cry if you really wanted to you were getting closer to accessing deeper emotions as this went on well never me i've got walls up all over none the least of which are blocking me from escaping from the purple plant yeah good stuff all right i have to go out of town for one weekend yeah this month and so i was like i won't give specific dates but i was like do you have any preference whether i go uh this weekend or the next weekend your response at 9 30 in the morning [ __ ] jesse soundtrack [ __ ] this guy who invented facebook i don't like dying i can't think of who the [ __ ] invented facebook all i can think is the guy who played the guy who invented facebook well the [ __ ] vented facebook and then in all capital letters two hours later mark zuckerberg oh that's amazing and you know it's it's it's not just that that story is so funny it's that it's indicative of the many texts you've sent me like that throughout the decade that we've known each other right and uh i just don't get to share with anybody um but that was so special that was a lot like when i when i would share voicemails from my dad yeah you know and i would get to show everyone look this is what happens it's real i'm not making [ __ ] up absolutely this i uh what the hell was i gonna say um i don't think i've ever been that tired um and delirious in a long time and the messed up part about that is like i was driving that entire time which is why it was so incoherent because i was using voice a text so i well yeah the the the fact that you called the guy from nine inch nails trent resin ore also led me to believe it had not been proof read yeah before ascending but i i was driving all the way to the airport in like at like 6 a.m and then driving back so it was like morning traffic also the airport traffic so i was delusional freaking out about the facebook movie which i hadn't watched in like a year just for some reason it was in my brain um and i didn't i managed not to kill anyone so that's great good for you thanks yeah the the thing i i the part i always lose it on is crazy winklevoss twins rowing just a complete aside of your own brain did we ever take a screenshot of that i i really i i feel like i must have but that was that was several phones ago you know i i don't i don't think i have it anymore but at least it was captured majestically uh for for everyone to enjoy trent resin or all right let's see what's next his head is weird [Laughter] after one and a half years that's where it's cut his head is weird his head is weird buy our shirts recklessly i touched a car that didn't belong to me it was a very nice car a 1978 bugatti that's not even a real car non-existent people made appearances in your battle kid stories and i was i was inventing characters left and right um i kind of wonder what would happen if i just let it because it it sort of arcs you know there is like there's like the build up and then there's like the anger and then there's like the resignation and then there's like the false triumph yeah yeah so i wonder if we'd gone on for another like 20 minutes like where it would go if i was just like i don't know jessica's went down to the store like just like fully resigned i don't know i'm afraid you would have beaten the thing and i think it's much more poetic that you never did wow that is that is truly beautiful yeah yeah i i like it it's like the ending of the sopranos where you're just like i don't know what what was that what what happened but but in some ways it's better to leave it to your imagination yeah um because it's like it's like when they um at the end of v for vendetta when they're thinking of taking off his mask and they show all of the different people he could be i don't know about the movie that's in i'm talking about the comic book and no matter who he is at the end it's not as satisfying as just letting it be a mystery all right so i i've i'm happy we left the battle kid mystery it was beautiful it is such a so tragic but so beautiful so deep do you want to do a couple more of these yeah let's do it all right hold that whoa whoa whoa whoa whoa whoa right straight to him oh okay probably should have had how did i die immediately because you had one life peg what okay but no oh my god i fully erect wake up father i'm fully erect i remember so clearly how like i don't remember that experience at all like i don't even remember there was another but i remember walking away from that and just being like i did something great today me too me too because when i was a kid i played ninja gaiden all the way up to the boss who we both thought was the final one um and lost and then it sent me back too far and gave me the game over because that's why we were we were in such a state when we recorded that because ninja gaiden had such terrible save states it would send you back hours of progress um so i had never seen the game be beaten and so i was truly living vicariously through you in that moment and it was a bucket list thing to check off from my childhood so that was that i i remember we were grabbing each other's shoulders and screaming and it was so nice such a nice moment god i love it so wonderful do you want to end on that one for now and do the rest of this uh as I actually really like these react videos, but it's awkward when they do one of these compilations where Lesmos or whoever's making it interleaves sections of the same playthrough in with other clips, like Battle Kid. It makes this formula of "play the clip, react to it with thoughts on that episode, then continue" kind of awkward when they pour out 5 minutes on Battle Kid, then two clips later they're back to it. It works much better with the animations where there's a clear end to the clip.

It's weird seeing them react to the LTTP playthrough when it's no longer up on the channel. I 100% get why they removed some videos and playthroughs, but why that one?

I'm still disappointed that they don't have my favorite Arin Rage moment (which is also one of my favorite Grump moments in general) in this: Joy Pendants. I looked at the other Arin Rage compilations by Lesmobestofs and still haven't found them using it.
