what's up guys and welcome to planet zoo that's right i did cave i said i wasn't gonna play another planet game but you know what curiosity really got to me on this one and i just had to see what all the hype was about so i have played through the tutorial i feel as though maybe i have a good enough understanding to start a franchise so that's exactly what we're gonna be doing today welcome to your franchise what would you like to call it don't worry if you don't like it you'll be able to change it later i always have a hard time figuring out what i want to call certain franchises or in planet coaster what i wanted to call my parks rides all that type of stuff so i think i'm gonna keep this one simple and i think we're gonna go with the 2g foundation i was looking around trying to see if i could find any like good starter names for franchises typically it seems like people use their steam name and then foundation after it kind of makes sense so we'll just go ahead with the 2g foundation all right what's next what do we got we have uh conservation points i believe so that's 100 conservation points right out the gate pretty dang sick so we have 300 conservation points total okay so we get to i guess pick where we want to put our zoo honestly i feel like we should do this in north america more specifically maybe grassland temperate may be good as well i think where i live in the us it's it's pretty well split between grassland or temperate i'm gonna go with temprid on this one difficulty i'm gonna go with easy all right this is my first go of planet zoo so i'm gonna i'm gonna stick with easy just to you know make it easy on myself now what do we wanna name this zoo how about the 2g wildlife reserve no that doesn't fit the 2g wild reserve fits you know what at the end of the day it's a zoo so we're just gonna name it it's a zoo i guess we'll go ahead and create it 100 conservation points and we'll get into our very first zoo i don't quite fully understand what i'm supposed to be doing here but it should be fairly similar to uh planet coaster so controls and everything should feel very familiar to me you need a keeper hut okay great it's just gonna start giving us things that we need to do i'm going to go ahead and pause things here and we'll figure out what we want to do first so we're going to need energy we're going to need animals we're going to need employees and employee buildings such as a keeper hut so i guess we'll just start by bringing out a path here right out of the front entrance of the zoo i want it to to go in and then branch out and maybe uh come around some trees or something gosh i haven't played any planet games in quite some time so it will be a little difficult i think for me to sort of wrap my head around these controls once again just like that that way when the guests do enter the zoo i keep wanting to say park when guests do enter the zoo they'll be able to sort of decide whether or not they want to go to the right whether or not they want to go to the left depending on what attractions are where attractions being the animals right also this is kind of cool we have two g's right here i did not make that this one's backwards but that's kind of funny zoo challenges zoo challenges are specific to the zoo you're currently running if you don't like a particular challenge then you can discard it it will refresh after some time first challenge being adopt an exhibit species okay adopt and place two different exhibit species so that's our first challenge here worth 100 no worth 1000 buccaroonies i have made the font much smaller than previously in planet coaster so hopefully that's a good move all right so it looks like for staff we're going to need a workshop so let's get a workshop figured out here now i do know that there is a separate path system specifically for your employees and visitors to the zoo will not walk on that path so i believe you want most of the staff buildings on specific staff paths if i remember correctly so i'm going to run a much smaller staff path off of the main entrance here and there we go now we have a staff path going around the same sort of arc as the main section of path that'll be very useful my goal with this zoo something that i didn't do in planet coaster that i want to try to accomplish here is make things seem a little bit more natural use less squares and more circles if you will so now that we have the main staff path done let's add the staff room first i'm gonna place that one down right there sort of in the shade of the trees next we're gonna need a research center i'm gonna put this on the opposite side over here kind of in a similar location in the shade of the trees then we need vet surgery it's a larger building so i'll throw that over here as well this side will be more of the buildings that are that are more involved with the animals in particular so we'll place that one down there yes it's a very basic building it's okay we can make them pretty later on i'm not too worried about it next we have the trade center so i'm gonna put that over here next to the main staff building that we have and then we need a quarantine i believe this is specific to the animals as well but it looks like we have a little bit more space over here than the other side so i'm gonna just put this right here just like that okay that is a good majority of everything that we need to actually start our zoo out of the way and it looks like we have a new challenge as well drink profits earn a yearly drink profit of 500 buccaroonies that should be fairly easy should be a similar thing to planet coaster with the drink stations and and stuff like that but all the animal stuff is going to be completely new to me so if i get something wrong or i don't do something correct i apologize feel free to let me know in the comments i would be happy to uh to change things around and and make things the way they're supposed to be and with the addition of the staff rooms in the staff areas of course we're gonna need staff to fill them so i'm gonna grab one caretaker a keeper of course a mechanic i guess just for good measure i don't necessarily know that we need one of them just yet a security officer of course and we'll get a vet that should be all we need right now we don't have any vendor areas so i don't think we need any vendors quite yet but this is looking pretty solid work zone i'm not gonna confine them to a zone just yet because the zoo is still so small and then for our staff room let's give it a perk staff will be more resilient against being overworked staff members with this perk will gain happiness faster or learning resources let's go social club for that so we have anna masters she's going to be our caretaker then we have our security guard andrew espacito despacito our mechanic is hazel tearjack our keeper is jeromy quigley that's dope and then our veterinarian is rudolph dixon that is our starting workforce we'll go ahead and hit play here so they all go down to the ground and get after it now the first thing i want to do of course is get our initial exhibit but before we do that i need to figure out what animals or which animals we can actually purchase of course we have our conservation credits or points and then we have actual dollar bills y'all so i'm thinking we should almost conserve our conservation credits kind of seems like a double negative and then we'll use hashtag dollar bills for the actual purchase of animals oh my god there's llamas dude okay what's with all the female llamas though actually there's more female animals than there are males now we can also sort this by appeal of the animal i would assume that's the appeal of the people that would come into the zoo so of course lions would probably be the highest appeal there lions and tigers and all the the big cats right then i'm going to change the species filter to just filter in indian pea fowl because i feel like that's that's the starting point really and now this way it looks like we can actually find a male the male appeared to be costing conservation credits which is not ideal but we can work with this all right her fertility looks pretty good immunity gene is very poor longevity gene very zero percent even size gene 33 so we need to get something that's more in the green maybe a little green and yellow but definitely no red here we go her name is alia very cool name this animal cannot be exchanged after adoption kind of a bummer there but understandable so i like alia i'm gonna go with alia for sure now we need a male of course we want a good fertility gene immunity gene is poor on him he's not bad he's not bad at all i don't know if you'd pronounce that ryan but i'm going to go ahead and pronounce his name as ryan uh we'll go ahead yeah we'll go ahead and adopt him 11 conservation credits which isn't ideal but i think we're just gonna have to bite the bullet on this one and there we go now we have two pea fowls so now let's turn our attention to their habitat we're of course gonna need to start with a barrier they need 312 square meters they don't need any water they don't need anything to climb on which is nice and it looks like they're temperatures around where our zoo is currently so that's good news and they only need a grade one fence greater than 4.125 feet tall can be done fairly simple now lucky for us it looks like the hedge is a resistance grade one which is perfect for us it is climbable but peacocks don't climb and it is not watertight but we don't have to worry about that because of course they're not going to use any water so i'm actually going to start off with glass i want the first thing that people see when they enter this zoo to be these animals so i'm going to take a glass fence from here to here there we go that looks about right and then let's take and now we'll take the hedge the rest of the way i think we can curve it slightly so that's nice too that'll give us a little bit more room so i'm going to curve it around to here we'll add another glass fence this one will be curved as well another hedge and another hedge this is gonna be more space than they probably need so i'm i think i'm gonna split this up into sort of a pie shape and just like that we finished the main boundary for the start of our first exhibits now i'm gonna take this to around the center i think and now i've had it broken up sort of by this chain link fence i think that's gonna work out okay i guess we'll see hopefully none of the animals escape or anything like that but this will be the first exhibit so this is where i'm gonna put the peacocks in here and then we have a smaller actually they might even be the same size to be completely honest with you but we're gonna put another species over here and another just over here if the chain link fence is a problem we can change it it's very very simple but i'm thinking maybe if certain animals are close together and they don't like seeing the other species then of course we're gonna have to either make that a hedge or do something completely different there so where do we actually get our animals from now hang on just a second we need to give them a door into each place so i'm going to do the doors on the back side i realize how slow-moving this is you guys i am so incredibly sorry this is technically my first time playing this so hopefully you guys appreciate that maybe you won't who knows it's more of a feeler episode than anything else so i'm gonna drop down a habitat gate there i'm gonna put one on the back here for the peacocks and another just here now these are staff path only so that is the only type of personnel that are gonna be able to cross over here and now we have sort of a windy twisty bendy little path for staff specifically in the back now what i want to do is try to tie that into the initial staff path that we created so now the staff have a clear path that they can walk around this initial exhibit to reach all of the aminos okay but i don't know i still don't know how to actually get the animals in here so that's something oh animal storage there we go so ryan ryan we want to move to this habitat here as well as isla she's going to get moved to here as well and hopefully the two get along pretty well i don't know really how that's gonna work i think their species may require more than just the two of them as well so we could either wait until they have babies or we're gonna have to buy some more peacocks which is totally fine now something that's very important is of course the donation bins first i have to find them because most zoos you pay for entry some zoos are free which is fantastic but most zoos you do pay for entry and then anything else is simply a donation here we go we have a donation box right there so i'm going to place one down right in front of the viewing area for that exhibit here we'll do another one just here and lastly one more over here once again we don't have any animals to fill those two outside exhibits just yet now i think having an atm just as you enter the park may be a good idea just as you enter the zoo i'm so sorry maybe a good idea however i don't think right here is gonna be the place to do it if we are gonna do that we're gonna have to move it out just slightly because i don't want to make this initial entry path really claustrophobic at all now we'll grab our two atms i'll put one over here and we'll do one over here and with that out of the way now we get to get into the drink stations the food stations all that good stuff i'm gonna plop a gulpy soda down right there and then we're gonna grab a looks like our only option right now is a chief beef so i'm gonna put that just over here perfect all right those are our two first vendors here in the park i believe once they open we should have two vendors as well there we go perfect we have a vendor here at golpy soda we also have a vendor here at chief beef and we are looking pretty good for the start of this zoo it looks like our vet and or our keeper is gonna go get the animals it looks like the vet might actually be going to get the animals we'll see oh the caretaker okay so the caretaker is not just a janitor then they do actually deal with the animals slightly now they're gonna run around our handy-dandy staff path right here oh we need a keeper hut still whoops they're gonna head back in here to the center exhibit open up the door and they should throw the box and actually release both of the animals just like that dude there we go so we have a male and a female peacock in here now i will tend to their needs here in just a moment wait for the door to close okay so keeper hut i'm gonna place the keeper hut down over here something like that ought to do and then a workshop i could have swore we put down a workshop maybe not the workshop i think i'm gonna do over here as well we'll put these two sort of side by side not that they have anything to do with each other but it'll be good have at least 300 guests in the zoo is our next achievement as well but let's focus in here on our newly purchased peacocks they need some food enrichment of course i do think we have to research that though i don't think we just get that right out of the gate they need some hard shelter also so we should probably put in a little a little shelter for them somewhere all right beds and shelters let's see what we got here we have a planet okay that is way too big way bigger and a little smaller we need something smaller than that even the wooden shelter isn't terrible yeah i think something like this would be good let's place this down right here we'll give them a little bit of space so they can sort of walk around it and then they're gonna need some bedding i'll put some bedding on top of the shelter just there okay they want more short grass and less long grass that should actually be fairly simple if we go into terrain here we just grab our paintbrush and remove a little bit of this long grass replace it with shorter grass they should like that quite a bit more there we go all right okay now it's too much short grass great what else do they like they like a little bit of sand they like a little bit of rock and a little bit of soil so let's give them a little bit of light soil in the front and on the sides sort of as if they were you know running around making tracks in the in the terrain here i gotta say i was sort of concerned that this game was gonna be just simply too similar to planet coaster and i i really just wasn't gonna enjoy it so far i'm very impressed they've managed to stray away from a lot of the things that i disliked about planet coaster and uh it does feel like its own game it doesn't feel like a replica and i'm really enjoying that fact okay with the terrain done let's see what else they need here environment don't want any plants and they don't really need any coverage i'm gonna add them a tree going to give them a tree just because i feel like they need something in here they need tropical grassland or temperate from specifically asia tropical grassland temperate and from continent asia there we go that should give us the exact plants that they so desire we got a beech tree so similar things to what we saw in planet coaster oh they have some bamboo even i'm liking this ash tree coconut palm i want to give them a nice big elm that could be cool also give them a little a little shade maybe on their on their bed area on their sleeping area that's a good look they don't really need much more coverage than this so i don't i don't want to overdo it since they are from asia i'm going to give them a little bit of bamboo just in the corner there and that really should be all they need just to pretty it up a little bit i'm gonna put some purple flowery looking plants next to the bamboo as well as a japanese maple tree over here in the corner dude that looks pretty good that looks pretty good and they're you know what they're happy about their environment now the enrichment thing like i said i think we have to research that adult population they need at least two more adults to be socially happy so i suppose let's look into that so here we sort of have the gold standard if you will for male peacocks that we can get right now however he costs 300 conservation points we currently have 189 so that definitely ain't happening but this one down here is more of the bronze standard he only costs eight conservation points otherwise we could go a little lower he's not exactly a standard and his size gene is fairly poor his immunity gene is fairly poor as well so i think we're gonna get what is his name anyways arnov we're gonna get arnav here go ahead and adopt him and we will move him into habitat 2 as soon as he shows up here next we need a female we need one more female so they can make le pepe oh my lord 1700 conservation credits for a gold standard female peacock i would like to get one of these all white sort of albino ones but they simply cost too much this one only costs 15. immunity gene is very poor longevity gene also very poor this one here is sean v i believe is how you're supposed to pronounce that anyways 3.2 years old bronze medal on this one i think that's our best bet that's the only one i've seen that has all green everything so let's just go ahead and do it and then we will move her into habitat number two as well we should probably get are we having some dude we got people we got people showing up all right that's good that's very very good i didn't realize we have a squirrel and a bunny over here as well as a cat perhaps maybe a fox dude this is good this is really good so we have one exhibit so far hopefully people don't mind that too much but we also have food and drink stands for them as well and here we have the two new ones popping in right now i feel like oh no the other the other one's over here so this is the female alia then we have ishanvi another female we have a male arnab god they are loud and then we have ryan which i believe is supposed to be rayon but i'm gonna say ryan wow dude the males are really pretty so they do that simply to attract a mate of course the females don't attract the mates don't know why that is that's just the way nature is baby but we're looking pretty solid in here looks like they still do need enrichment terrain is good coverage is good i love their i love all the sound effects dude they nailed that absolutely nailed that social is now much better as well nope i'm loving this look at him good god oh inspector arriving in 22 months okay dude we're getting donos yes 397.50 dude just from the first day of being open we've only been open for what an hour tops that is pretty dang solid okay i have to pause because i just realized something we not only have not given them food we haven't given them water so i'm gonna i'm gonna refocus here and uh and figure out what we need to do for them in that regard a large food bowl we're gonna place that in the front so the people coming in obviously the peacocks will be more attracted to the food bowl so they'll kind of go up closer to the glass where the people are viewing them at which should work out in our favor now of course we're gonna get a water pipe i'm gonna rotate this around ever so slightly so they get a little bit better of a view here and uh we're gonna plop that down right there that should be everything they need i believe we need to start research on the pea fowl oh we move the veterinarian to the research okay that's fairly simple so we're gonna get rudolph on just simply researching the p foul kind of seeing what they're all about and we can get our mechanic actually to start researching some themes i'm going to get him to research the east asia theme just because i think that's the coolest looking one so we're gonna drag and drop hazel onto the east asia theme he's gonna start research on that and i think that's about all we have to do to be honest as of right now anyways we have an animal rating of two stars we have a guest happiness rating of five stars that's perfect no marketing has been done we're not educating guests at all ooh can we do that though i know there are screens that we can get place it just next to the viewing area so that visitors can learn more about these animals as they go around educational content indian peafowl there we go dude and then let's give them the educational speaker now something we don't have yet is of course a generator so that's something i'm going to have to look into right after this as well all right utilities transformer water treatment we don't have any water right now so i'm just going to go ahead and put down the transformer i know that there is a heat map for guest happiness as well they're all happy i thought there was one and maybe i'm wrong there we go negative impact on guests so as long as these buildings are away from the path it looks like we're all good here then uh they're not gonna have any negative impact the largest circle so far is definitely this transformer so we want to get this quite a bit a ways away from the guests now we should be able to hit play and we'll see how things play out here for him oh and we have quite a good line at gulpy let's adjust prices up a dollar of course you guys know this is how we get the big bucks here adjusting prices making sure everything is as expensive as it possibly can be yep we've already made 500 bucks on food so drinks should be close behind i'm gonna say it i'm enjoying the game i am actually enjoying the game so far and uh that's a big thing for me we have first lady luck visiting currently i believe that's just ai but that's pretty that's pretty cool we'll say hi we got 20 conservation points from that dude are you kidding me sick we'll have to do that more often then indian peafowl is about to mate are you serious oh look at that dude he's attracting her look at all those eyeballs look at all the eyeballs all right get up there do your your rubber rubber neck and thing you know what i'm saying yeah there you go there you go okay you're kind of like kind of cutting inside of each other but that's that's to be expected and now they're going to play a little game of tag very cute oh the other one is about to mate now yes get it girl get it girl all right sick dude we're gonna have so many freaking peacocks running around here it's gonna be the dopest thing ever all right what's our dono box look like 5 000 we are profiting it looks like just barely i can't believe people are paying so much just to see a couple of peacocks is about to have offspring are you kidding dude they're moving so fast they are moving so fast okay all right all right this this is this is big this is big big big she is hootin and hollerin do they they lay eggs right they don't have live births i don't think i'm ready to see that it looks like she's nesting are they both nesting oh oh we have a baby [Music] we have two babies it's beautiful are they male are they female uh you there female you here female we got two females nice dude oh my god you got you gotta love it you gotta love it and look how many people are here to witness it that is just great that is just the best thing ever oh and they do have food now okay good and with that i think that's a pretty good spot to wind down our first episode here on planet zoo once again this is simply a feeler episode so if you guys want to see me make more content on planet zoo please leave a like leave a comment help support the dream by smashing that subscribe button and i will see you in the next one thanks so much for watching guys peace [Music] you
