all right so today I'll be giving you guys sort of like a tour of my main base so that I can show you the things that I did to prevent the annoying glitches from happening and also show you how I improve the efficiency of my base quite a few people in the comments have been asking for this so hopefully you find this video useful so first off let's talk about the outside part of my base and explain to you why I decided to go for this when I was designing my base my main focus was function and optimization of course I'm also going to try to make it look decent and somewhat organized but my overall priority is to make my base as efficient as possible I decided to go for a square shape because I think that it's a lot easier to manage the space that way and the stairs are going to be a lot more simple to set up compared to a more circular based design the whole thing is also enclosed which is a good thing because having everything in a contained space is going to prevent a lot of the glitches from happening and also because my base is designed this way it actually gives me a lot of freedom when it comes to expanding my base vertically whenever I need to as you can see I'm not using up all of the space within the circle and there's actually a few reasons for that number one we have structures in the game that like the viewing cage where you actually can't build on top of it trying to put something like this in a building is going to be a lot of hassle so it's better to leave a little bit of open space outside the main building so that you can still have something like this in your base without it interfering with anything I'm currently using the viewing cage for my in-house Trading Post and so if you're interested in building this for yourself then I recommend checking out my other video after you watch this one Linked In the description below another reason why I think it's important to leave a little bit of space is because your pals are inevitably going to be spawned outside the main building I've seen this happen multiple times whenever I re-enter my base because one moment they're all inside but when I do something in my other base which is quite far away and then I go back to the other base I very often see one pal that is hungry because they're suddenly stuck outside and as far as I know we can't really do anything about this so whenever that happens you at least have to make sure that they can easily make their way back into your base try to give your pals enough enough room they can walk on because they can actually get stuck when they get in contact with the blue outline of your pal box and then of course make an entrance like this so that they can actually make their way back inside and now looking at the inside of my base you're going to notice that there are no empty space in the walls this is important because your pals can actually get stuck if you leave an empty space on top of the walls as for the height of my ground floor it's only three walls High preferably four but I don't really like assigning Jon tide to my base so it doesn't matter all that much but if you want the safest option then definitely go up to four walls in height with because you're going to be able to accommodate bigger Pals that way over here I have my lumbering and Mining stations lined up and specifically for the logging site your pals can actually get stuck on top so what you can do is place a roof like this so that they can no longer get stuck also keep in mind that you can't place the roof after you place the logging site so you have to place the roof first and then you can build the logging site underneath it for the mining stations the only thing that I added is a small container because for some reason sometimes my Pils are not going to transport the stone so it ends up being maxed up out but if I place a storage item close to it then they actually do I have the smaller one very close to the mining stations but I also have my bigger storage for wood and stone over on this side I mentioned this in my last video but I also made sure that I'm leaving one tile of space between the wall and the different stations that my pals interact with because majority of the time the places where your pals get stuck are either on top of a structure or in between the wall and some other structure it all has to do with how the pathing works in this game but an easy fix for that is to leave a good amount of space beside your walls for the next one we have a medicine cooking and smelting stations similar to the logging site your Palace can also get stuck on top of the electric furnace so I also placed a roof on top of it and basically just extended it towards the medicine and cooking stations because I think that it looks way better that way and then of course I have my power generator but I made sure that I'm not placing this anywhere near the wall moving on we have my pal beds and it might seem like I just randomly plac them this way but there's there's actually a reason for this I have the large pal beds in front because whenever your pals get injured or they simply get grouchy they're actually going to sleep on the bed where they first come in contact with and the main purpose for the large pal bed is to help your pals recover quickly so having this at the very front is going to make sure that your injured pals are going to sleep on this for the next one we have my farming area which is now significantly smaller because of the stacking method that I talked about in my previous video a lot of people mentioned that you can stock more than three plantations which you technically can but I don't feel like I need more than what I have right now because my farm is already very sustainable even with only a few plantations and if you ask me you honestly only need four berries three wheat and two for both lettuce and tomato if I ever decide to add more plantations then I might add more wheat but even then I can just keep farming the black marketeer and buy off the wheat from the merchant so for now I think that it's more than enough and I'm also very happy with how it looks and speaking of looks let's actually talk about the decorations on this floor and why I have them here so the hot spring is down here because it needs to be very accessible to the pals and then I just surrounded it with different production speed boost items and other miscellaneous items that are pile related the only ones that are not here are the electric pylon and The Silo your pales can also get stuck on top of these items so it's not really a good idea to have this on the busiest area of your base and then over here I also have my drink bar which is originally meant to cover this area of my base because a lot of my pals somehow get stuck here initially I only had the roof covering this area but then I decided to decorate a little bit in a way that it kind of makes sense one thing though is that if you're using storage items for decoration make sure that you place non-stackable items inside so that your pals don't consider this as a viable storage moving up to the second floor I have a double staircase and the reason for that is because more pals are going to be able to move up the staircase currently I don't use any gigantic Pals but when the time comes that I do and they need to go to the other floors then my staircase is more than ready onto the actual second floor this is where I keep the majority of my storage and also my assembly lines it makes a lot of sense to put these things here because not a lot of Pals need to interact with these and Anubis is the only one that they want to be working in this area I also feel like one assembly line for each type is more than enough but I don't really have anything else to put in this area so I decided to build some more and over here we have my storage which is protected by this makeshift entrance that I made and the good thing about this is that even though there's a big entrance for my storage I'm actually the only one who can get inside my Palace won't be able to enter this area so I find this to be better than a traditional door because I don't have to worry about opening and closing it one more thing is that I also made sure that I have a good amount of space between the storage box and the wall because even though my pals can't enter my storage room they can still put random items in my storage if the storage box is too close to the wall and over here on this room I was messing around with different interior designs so this area might not make a lot of sense it doesn't really match the industrial design of the rest of my base so I'll probably just copy this design onto a different building in one of my other bases but for the meantime it's kind of nice to have this because this area is just going to be an empty room if I get rid of this moving on to the next floor this is mainly going to be for my breeding farms I also keep my Silo on this floor away from all of my pals so that they don't get stuck and I also have my electric heater and cooler but this one is only here for looks I don't really like using this simply because it's way better to use the regular heaters and coolers I also have a couple of egg incubators and a p condensation menu but this one is more like a temporary thing because I haven't gotten around to making my dedicated breeding base yet so for now this is what I have to work with I'm very happy with my main base right now but if I were to make some changes then the biggest one is probably the location it's not because the location is bad but only because I kind of want all three bases to be very close to each other if your other bases are actually too far away then there's actually a production penalty where your pals are not going to work as efficiently when they're outside of the render distance they're also not going to pick up items so because of that I definitely want my bases to be close together specifically very close to the mining sites with that being said that is pretty much everything I have for this video hopefully you found this video useful and you are able to apply these ideas in your base and as always don't forget to leave a like comment subscribe thank you so much for watching and I'll see you in the next one peace
