to make money without even buying a unit we're back at the unit that i didn't even buy i don't even know how i got it but jesse of clear thrifts paid the auctioneer one dollar one dollar it's not even my money patience one dollar for me to get this unit so we've got to find some profit here how much do you think it's worth for 75 bucks 75 okay well we did find we looked at the actual vanity a little bit earlier in an early episode but we did find the mirror we did find that you should make shift seat this isn't the original you see how it doesn't slide in there so this isn't an original but it's a makeshift we found it all we found the extra drawer missing if we clean this up we could easily in our area and it is regional dependent okay your area may be very different we clean this up wipe it down we'll get 150 to 200 somebody's going to want to actually chalk paint this and then restore it and distress it not that it's not distressed enough already how did you think that much i did not know all right hand on your belly button sorry and what do you think here we've got a stove what do you think you would not pay a thing for it no it's gross okay this stove is pretty rough extremely rough this for me again i would not even spend the time cleaning it up nor would i pay employees and part of my business is the scale of business i have to pay employees to actually do the work as well i can't handle it all i'm running multiple businesses so i have to take that expense all new account this for me we would be looking at scrap all right christian you do all the scrap runs how much money you think you'll get for this uh like 60 cents all right 60 cents there you go it cost me more to actually move it and then it's descend christian to go scrap it i'm losing money at all right we're not gonna sell it oh i don't know then you have no clue no okay so here's the thing your utility companies in every state around the united states will come and pick it up they will give you 50 working or not in regards to refrigerators so we can make fifty dollars here instead of the scrap value so we can call we can say hey come pick it up schedule time they'll pick it up i get fifty bucks i still have to pay you guys to haul it and then store it and then for the call and be there and ready for them to pick it up in all reality it's not enough to make me any money we'll probably just scrap it i'll lose less money scrapping it okay we did find some boxes though right yeah all right let's dig into some boxes next patients okay there's this says it's from 1992 was it department 56 you see any markings on it no it just says seasonal specialties and it looks like it sold for four dollars and 50 cents not sure we're going to get too much out of it no anything else in the short second life of bree tanner buffy the vampire slayer this was the greatest show that was yeah i watch it every morning there's your money right there what are those those are kids books avengers cars disney's there you go all right so we got some money right there yeah that's actually worth something these will go well and then he revealed dude the whole series those are duck dynasty playing cards put those in a playing card lot no david all right some more twilight over there yeah the rest are just great here's what we got over here we've got a china hutch it is solid wood but it's not a hardwood it's pine it's a soft wood so if i clean this all up oh look at that look at that let's see what's in there if i clean this all up some kind of safety fit i don't know what that's for just kind of love it's a baby glove if you clean it up i can get probably 200 for this now you may be thinking oh look here look at here look at here we got we dangerous oh not in there we got an old mason jar propel world champion poker so to clean this up i can make 200 probably pretty easily now the issue with this unit is you wouldn't even believe it if i show you here come take a look patience come take a look with christian here the issue and how i'm going to lose money on this unit is see all of this all of that right there all of that right there is complete and total garbage 99 of this unit is garbage that's why i didn't bid on it and that's why i'm gonna lose money on it even though there are some things that will recoup my expenses my time costs money my fuel costs money my employees cost money the space cost money when you're at the scale of a business that i'm at this is actually a losing venture for me which is why i didn't buy it but thankfully thankfully i have friends like jesse of thirst who paid a dollar for it for me remember friends don't let other friends bid on storage units for them nothing but love for you jesse i did find a few other things like right here here's a dandy there's a plush that'd be worth something uh is this nala that's nala right yes uh we found this earlier we found a few other things like here here's a bunch of matchbox a bunch of matchbox hot wheels we should do okay there now christian you actually looked this up on ebay how much is it going for a new one sold for 70 okay so that was a new one so if we could get 20 bucks for that i'd be happy so we've got some knickknacks paddy wax and give a dog an apple but other than that this unit really there's not much more in there we did find some cash in the first episode so the biggest expense is going to be trash and employee expenses on this one but now i want to transition and i want to show you how to go to an auction and how to make money without even buying a unit just like i didn't buy this one and i'm going to lose money but i also went to an auction where people were making money without ever buying a unit you can't wait to see this you just never know what the hell is going to happen terms are cash cash only if you do not clean the unit out uh you don't get your fifty dollars back there's a fifty dollar charge for each just here tom charges a fifty dollar clean out fee clean out fee you go to the office after you've cleaned it out they come and look at it you get your fifty dollars back so uh remember that um affordable what you see is what you get as always you can't go in the units you can stand here and look at it all you want and uh we got how many units here there's 14 here 14. and he told me 10. so i've got an ad that there's 14 units because affordable has four he usually has pretty nice units so there's 14 here plus 12 pallets then we're going out to horrible on north main and he's got four units so it's 14 units definitely household interesting case right over there all right look at that old apple computer you see that right there apple printers apple computers and there is the safe that apple computer could
