Please note that this website is currently a work in progress! Lots of interesting data and statistics to come.
No GPU is worth the insane amount of money they cost nowadays, unless they come with hookers and cocaine.
No. The answer is no. It is not.
Digital Foundry could've been more critical. $799 is still crazy. People are only just starting to rip on nvidia and solely because of their pricing. People seem all too willing to ignore their dodgy behavior as long as they get performance, but now that they're priced out of peoples range finally we're starting to hear some criticism creep through from the community. I wish AMD could evenly compete with nvidia at all levels, it would help a lot.
Just because everything else they sell is for bullshit prices doesnβt make $799 for 3090 performance a good deal. This card should be $499-549 full stop.
All 40 Series cards are terrible value so far. The 4090 at 2000β¬ is the only card that has a place (sadly) in the market.
One problem is that the 4090 is way faster than the 4080 and "4070 Ti". Its like almost the 4090 is a different generation than the 4080, but the 4080 is not that much cheaper.
And the 4070 Ti is just terrible terrible value. There is no fucking reason to buy that card unless you somehow live somewhere, where 3080/3080 Ti or 3090s are somehow more expensive than a 4070 Ti.
So going off this trend, where are the 4070 Base and 4060 projected to land? $699 msrp for a 70 sounds absolutely insane, as does $499-$599 for a 60 but that's almost what's being setup by this lineup no? Like the specs have all been pretty sweet, but that price basically makes the 40 series a wash.
40 series seems like a HUGE fail. I think that majority will be waiting for 50 series. But that will be overpriced too.
Good card, bad price. We're used to xx70/xx70 Ti cards outperforming the flag ship card from the previous generation but this time Nvidia decided to increase the price by $200 above the MSRP of the 3070 Ti...
The GPU market is beyond fucked at this point. I'm hoping Nvidia is doing this just to clear stock and return to somewhat reasonable prices with the 50-series like they did with the 30-series originally.
Is it fast ? Yes. Is it worth the money ? Fuck no.
I know reddit is american mostly forum but it is just sad as 3rd worlder where american cant even pay $799 while in the rest of the world it would be over $2000 and with how low the salary compare to america those $2000 card feels like $20000 for someone with america salary lmao
