My Daily Grind & How I Organize - A Day In The Life Of An Amazon Delivery Driver

[Music] hey what's going on guys it's your boy avionic and uh today I'm taking you on a trip to my Daily Grind which is Amazon delivery driver this is what I do on a normal basis so yeah please go ahead like share and subscribe if you want to follow me along on this journey but uh yeah so this is day five for me which is actually I'm sorry day six which is actually day two of the level two nursery Route now um Nursery routes are routes that are fairly easy and they wian you into um going into regular routes we just left the station after loading out um here's a little clip of uh the load out that I just did check that out I got a one more cart [Applause] yeah yeah [Music] [Applause] [Applause] so I'm currently on my way to my first stop just leaving the station right now um at a DSP at a delivery Hub in Las Vegas Nevada so this video is basically a day in the life of my Daily Grind and Amazon delery driver when I get to my first stop I'm going to show you how I organize everything that I just loaded up into my van and then throughout the video I'm going to be showing you actual deliveries of my dayto day so being that I'm on a level two nursery Route now they moved me up from the short Amazon rental vans which are right white and then now I am in a I'm still in a rental van it's a white and it's a white van and it's a mercedesbenz sprinter it's actually longer I just learned this morning that it's actually a little bit longer than the regularly uh brand branded Amazon Ford bands that have the you know the Amazon blue and the logo so yeah but yesterday was my first day driving the Mercedes-Benz Sprinter van and it's very comfortable the the seats are like bucket seats I like the fact that these rear view mirrors have that blind spot monitoring of a big big red triangle that illuminates plus it beeps at you if you're trying to Lane change and there's someone in your way so I really like that in the Ford in the Ford vans the for vanand doesn't have that neither does the uh the Nissan van that I've driven all right so I'm at my first stop just on the street side and I'm going to take my time to look over my pick list and I'm going to take time to organize my packages and my totes because if you do this take the time to do it as soon as you get to your first stop it's going to make the rest of your day go by easier so here's my pig sheet I have total of 12 bags and 13 overflow or oversized packages and to total packages 223 four of them are commercial packages now if we look at my itinerary here I have a total of 118 stops and 223 packages here's my map it's all in one place in this part of Boulder City I guess yes all right there so let's go ahead and organize everything so how I like to do it is have all my bags in order starting with green 184 first one on top second one down the list on the bottom third one right here fourth one below that one fifth six so on and so forth let's see how I did everything um upon load out to begin with see if I did everything already Arena 184 we8 68 perfect yellow 524 orange 135 all right uh see we need green 129 on top and then yellow 3 4 5 on the bottom let's switch these out all right continuing on we got uh black 71 and then a096 all right Navy 285 on the bottom oh it goes on top of 285 black 640 so my very last tote should be on the bottom back here which is black 580 which is this one up here then black 832 on top all right now that I have that organized I'm going to go ahead I'm going take a breather I'm going to order put in order my oversized packages with the lowest number on the yellow sticker up here and then the the highest number on the yellow sticker towards the back and like I said what I have I have a 13 four flow oversiz are now organized so now I'm going to go ahead and open up my first bag which is green 184 and today's my first day where I actually brought two of these along with me what these are for is organizing all the envelopes and I'm going to put them in numerical order right here I got two of them so just in case one isn't enough all right so what I do I separate boxes from bags first throw all the bags in one pile throw all the boxes down and then I'll number all the bags and the number all the or boxes first because there's usually less boxes and more bags in the totes and being that this Sprinter band doesn't have shells I'm just going to line them up here on the floor all right so that's everything in the first bag all right boxes I'm going to go ahead and number them least to the highest yellow stickers facing me in whatever way so I can see it right away up 418s those are some weird ones I usually put those in like a separate pile and put them in numerical order also now I'm going to go ahead and order the uh go ahead and move this out of the way this is going to eventually get put into another tote right there I'm going to put order up all the envelopes in here all right so that was fairly easy um fairly easy first not to organize all right so we're going to go ahead and start delivering Ro arrive at the destination on your right what am I going to do this one all right I'm going to do this right there boom bada boom bada bang I see no doorbell oh smells like horse poop around here we're just going to post up right here how you doing how are you is it okay if I did that I pulled up yeah yeah okay it's a long walk thank you thank you appreciate that for Soo there we go take a lunch here few packages see what I got for lunch put right there [Music] jeez garage what delivered in garage you didn't give me no code DOD maybe they at carport my drive there another safe location put it under [Applause] there all right well it's lunch time let's see what we got in my matching lunch box that matches with my Amazon outfit we have a bag of Chili Cheese Fritos Cheetos crunchy an oven roasted turkey and cheese sandwich we got honey roasted peanuts and we got fruit snacks probably not going to eat all this at once probably just going to eat a sandwich and I'm going to go with the chili cheese chips today and then I have my ever favorite so beverage Sparkling Ice this one we have the lemonade if you guys haven't tried these out they are at Walmart for like a dollar each my three favorite flavors are classic lemonade strawberry lemonade and the pink grapefruit those are my three go-to all right so I'm going to go ahead and guzzle down this lunch and then we're going to head back on the road a few moments later all right well my 30 minute lunch is just about up and we're back on the clock and we have so we've already done 54 successful stops and then we have 65 more stops to go with 128 more packages to go uh we started out with what 223 so I knocked about almost 100 so let's get on [Music] it got my last tote to unpack it is uh 603 level two nursery Route once again so uh when I'm done here I'm going to call my dispatch and let them know I'm done and they'll probably give me a rescue to do where I can grab a couple of bags and some overflow probably from them help them out but uh yeah normally uh 9:30 is when our 10hour day is up but last night I was actually actually done till almost 10: cuz I was rescuing an ad hoc which is new to me but yeah this is the last box to [Music] unload there you go have a good night someone stole the last package please knock on door L all right 769 that be this one how dare someone steal their package lowlife bastards I give it a good knock put it behind there how about that that might help pretty nice decorations let's go check these uh decorations out I don't know how well it's going to look being that it's dark and you know GoPro cameras aren't really known to be good under dark or dim conditions they got State plug got R2D2 and some dogs oh gosh have a good night all right so I'm on my way to another driver to go ahead and rescue them for about maybe a dozen or so packages um they're about 9 10 mil from where I was at uh my dispatch gave me their number and their location so I'm going to go there meet up with them grab about like I said doesn't to sell packages cuz right now it's 7:17 and usually we end around 9:30 so maybe 15 17 we'll see but yeah that's where I'm um heading to right now and it's probably it's looking like it's in Henderson Nevada all right so I just went up with the driver right now so I'm going to pick up a tote or so or whatever all right got five and we have let's see how many is in here so what we do on a rescue is first we'll take care of the tote first we scan the tote number first and then we scan every everything inside of it and then we move on to uh to those so I'm going to go ahead and pick up on the rabbit scan the QR code yes I'll deliver so there's 23 packages in here so I'm just going to go ahead and do what I usually do and then knock all these out see you guys in a little bit all right so I'm done with the with the rescue um it is now 8:38 p.m. so we're done with the day so we're heading back to the station but before we get back to the station we got to refuel up so I'm going to go refuel and then return to the station return my afternoon rain Avenue return my totes do my final inspection clock out our final inspection on the vehicle and then I clock out see you guys back at the station all right so I forgot to video me basically just taking that bag of totes and throwing it on the rack in the station but that's all I did I didn't have any packages to return either so I just simply go underneath the canopy and then um drop off all the toats and then me pulling around to where we park our vans and then uh doing our final inspection for the day on the vehicle and then signing out it is now 9:30 p.m. that is the time that uh 10 hours from when we're supposed to start but who knows sometimes we might go over but yeah so that is a day in the life of my Daily Grind an Amazon delivery driver here in Las Vegas
