GASPS The game is finished! I need to play this asap
Not 20 minutes in and I'm snickering already :D
This was fantastic (how is Luke such a polymath?!). Watched the whole session and thought it was really fun. Iโd be keen to see another session carrying on the story, or possibly a small series, maybe with Andy and Jane forming a rival team?
Wouldnโt be my choice of topic material, and I wonder if the race mechanic might feel a bit limiting on multiple sessions. Do the mechanics give space for larger arcs (like Chase finding his sister, for example)? The free play bit might come to dominate the session after a while.
That being said, what I do like is how realistic a possibility death felt. Ellen was down to 1HP and tactically it might have made sense for Mike to let her take poll position to shield her from any further attacks - which is a cool angle of team tactics to explore. In both the other two TTRPGs they play, you get a strong feeling of plot armour - the Oxventurers have never been close to death (though I sometimes think Luke wants a total party wipe so they can reset and do more complete characters now theyโre better role players)
As much as I love pen and paper RPGs, this (racing) is thematically as far from my taste as it gets. Yet I enjoyed the video immensely. Being a professional entertainer is way harder than lot od people think. But OX mastered the craft.
I really want to see this played with the whole gang, including Johnny (press any) Chiodini.
Ellen calling Luke her โtalented friendโ on social media promoting this video is such a great wholesome example of life/friendship goals.
Mike gives off the stern but fair teacher vibe at the beginning
This was so entertaining! I really want them to come back to this regularly but I know balancing it alongside Oxventure and Blades in the Dark would be difficult.
Did this particular session have a name like their other campaigns? Anyone care to suggest one? Wish I knew auto-racing terms, I'm sure there are plenty of puns that would work
Ordered and skimmed while watching the video. I'm not into racing, but I always get something from reading games, and what I've looked at so far is pretty good. I'm impressed for Luke's first RPG!
