cleric is the least popular class in Boulder Skate 3 pair the official numbers released by larian themselves but why why is such a powerful class that has great utility great damage some of the best concentration spells in the game as well as healing which is also better in Bowlers K3 compared to tabletop such an underpaked glass I'm going to be honest with you and say something potentially very shocking so for the faint-hearted close your ears eyes and other holes maybe but cleric is a S Plus tiered class and today I will show you why and how you can become a very powerful cleric whether you're level 2 or level 12. the reality is clerics are very powerful early mid and late game and shadowheart is by the way also a cleric and has some of the most fleshed out story tied to her in the game does that mean that collectively we have decided to dump poor little Shadow Heart Like a pile of garbage the moment we met her and never use her afterwards well according to the charts it might layering themselves even writes out this little sentence trying to influence you to potentially respect shadowheart and drift you away from her origin class but now we will absolutely never act in such a blessing Australia we will stay true to our core identity clerics are the least baked glass but not on the basis of any rational thought though it is because clerics are simply misunderstood and today we will shift public perception starting off with level 1. also a powerful cancer with great damage but also will have great synergies with other aspects of the build that I will get into later on in this video but what is even better is the Wrath of the storm ability that you get as a tempest cleric and it's honestly just too good because you're going to attack anything that attacks you while it's their turn it's a reaction ability so you can in fact attack them while they're attacking you and in the process of doing so deal great damage in retaliation absolutely great reaction before we continue I want to take a moment to talk about today's decide to summon yes you can choose between a variety of different spiritual weapons as well so if you know the enemy is say immune bleed you don't pick the special weapons like a great sword or a helper that have listed on them for example but one of the other weapons that have a more useful effect for that type of enemy so even on a very micro level you can determine the strategy there spiritual weapon is then also a bonus action so you don't even need to sacrifice your turn to make it making it even better all in all it is an insane power Spike for you early on and you definitely want to get a leveled fee as soon as possible eight is a really good spell to get to level four it heals but it also gives your entire team a plus 5 boost to your HP and that stays applied till the next long rest so that can be quite some time for your camera at level 4 I recommend getting blade War just a nice Gantry for defensive purposes that also lasts two turns we also get a feat at level 4 and we're going to get resilient for constitution right here which makes us reach 16 constitutions giving us benefits from a higher even Constitution level and Proficiency in Constitution saving throws meaning it's going to be much easier to maintain our concentration spells like bless for example now as well this is a really good fee to get at this level when also considering the starting ability points that I recommended at level 5 we get something so good that you know I might as well just say stay at level 5 don't level up D6 and higher beat the game as a level 5 cleric to keep it fair for all the enemies that you're going to face because we get this Bellator 5 and if you know you know this thing is more powerful than the universe itself Spirit Guardian surrounds you with Spirit Guardians that obliterate everything they touch and you can move while the spirit Guardian skill everything while you're moving Spirit Guardians is a concentration spell so he casts one turn and it just stays on you and with the recently acquired resilient feat the likelihood of it staying on you has now become much higher and better as well making the feat we got at level 4 an absolute golf tier pickup spared Guardian also halves the movement of your enemies so aside from the amazing damage it does every single turn it also has some actual useful CC so you're also quite late in the Guardians we get this spell at level 5 but you definitely want to keep using Spirit Guardians for the entirety of your playthrough and also up level that when you unlock level 4 5 and 6 spell slots it's going to stay amazing at any point in the game also to really optimize the usage of the spelled make sure to check if your enemies are either resistant to necrotic or radiant damage and then accordingly pick the spirit Guardians version that they are malt resistant at level 6 I'm going to recommend a spell that is highly situational but can come in very clutch you'll become Withers himself with a spell and it's revive if I if anything in your party dies you bring them back to life can be the difference between a lost battle and a one battle especially on tactician mode and in my opinion this is just a really useful spell at level 7 I recommend getting death Ward you can cast it preemptively to make sure a party member doesn't die the next time you enter combat it's like a nice little Guardian Angel basically and I also strongly recommend to swap out something like inflect wounds for example as in-flight wounds is not necessary anymore with how much sources of damage we have at this point and get Mass healing word in now which is exactly like healing word but the AOE version of it at the expense of it requiring a level 3 spell slot instead of 8 level 1 spell but healing your entire party is just a really nice thing to have I'm going to group level 8 to 10 together because I would say it's up to preference in which order you take these spells but I would recommend guardian of Fate greater restoration and mask your wounds Massacre wounds is another great source of feeling great restoration is a great tool for moving some of the most annoying CC effects on your party members and guardian of faith is a good summon especially if you position it tactically like in joke points so enemies can't ignore it but guardian of faith is a level 4 spell while the orders are Level 5 spells so you probably want to take guardian of Fate at level 8 at level 8 you also get another feat and you want to use your feet to get ability Improvement and put two points in wisdom the counterp you want to take at level 10 is going to be resistance it's just better than the Alternatives at level 11 and 12 you unlock your first level 6 spell slot and in my opinion out of the level 6 spells so you definitely want to get Hero's Feast right away as your first level 6 spell it is an absolutely amazing spell that you can cast after any long rest that immediately gives your entire party a HP buff a pretty significant HP buff at that as well and it negates various status effects on you and gives you advantage to wisdom saving throws also it conjures his container that gives you a bunch of Gap supplies that you can use for your next long rests which is actually very useful for helping you out getting your needed Gap supplies in the late game especially on tactician mode where long wrestling requires 80 instead of 40 camp supplies on other level 6 spell that I then would recommend is planner Ally this bill gives you the choice to summon one out of three different summons that supports you in combat and the summons actually quite strong and has a really good HP pool as well finally I would also recommend heel additionally as well if you can swap something out 70 HP of healing on a spell is actually really good you get another feat at level 12 as well and again I will take another ability Improvement right here and get two more points in wisdom and with that you will now have reached 20 in our most important ability wisdom and 16 Constitution as well just through our feet as you level you also get a bunch of guaranteed spells that are determined by your domain in the case of a tempest cleric it's all these lighting spells some of them are used for melee combat While others for ranged combat and you get a lot of damage to these spells especially if you combine it with the earlier mentioned combo with the create water spell so it's definitely not a bad idea to focus on healing utility summons defensive spells in the spell selections that you get from leveling up I do want to highlight them one guaranteed spell in particular though and that's insect plague that you get at level 9 it's a really good spell especially if you deployed at choke points as it covers a big area and just destroys the movement of what's inside of it while dealing really good damage as well now if you don't want to use Shadow heart Azure cleric I would probably still go high elf as a starting race as it gives you a bunch of useful benefits like dark vision and Fey ancestry which gives you advantage against being Charmed as well as prevents you being put to sleep through magic it also gives you the useful perception proficiency and either sub race whether you go high half L for an extra cantrip or a wood half L for extra movement and stealth proficiency you will have made a great choice now for gear and items I'm going to go of what I think you should aim towards to and get because these items will synergize very well with being a cleric and our spells early on you don't have to worry too much about gear as a cleric since you have so much power anyways with things like spiritual weapon and spirit guardians but you definitely want to start working towards my recommendations ultimately and you can definitely get some of these quite early on as well the nice thing about gear for a cleric in the game is that there is a variety of gear effects that make your healing extra good in the sense that they provide you some additional benefits to Healing your party members for example the whispering promise ring which I highly recommend you to get because it will essentially bless whatever you heal that is a huge effect considering bus is usually a concentration spell but now you get it for free and it lasts for two turns every time you heal someone in body insane ring then it also opens up inner slot in your spells as you can remove the blast spell logically as well when you get it and in that case I would probably replace with command or something like that for your other ring I would recommend putting on the callus glow ring as it will deal two extra radiant damage every time you damage your enemies when they're illuminated which is most of the time for your ammoth I would then recommend to get the Amulet of The Devout which gives you a plus due to spell safety c as well as an extra Channel Divinity so this amulet is practically just made for clerics and insanely good for them for your helmet I would recommend getting the helmet of balduran which is a really good Helm that heals you at the start of every turn makes you a tanky monster as well by negating critical hits on you they're getting stuns on you as well as give you plus one to Armor class and saving throws for your gloves we're going to go with gloves with a similar effect like our first ring and go with the Reviving hands these are absolutely monstrous gloves for a cleric they essentially give you everything you heal blade Ward so another very big buff to our heels in addition to our Whispering prom spring and it also gives everything we revive to our revivalify spell death Ward so we can swap out that word as well potentially for a different spell when using these gloves you get the Reviving hands in XP however but you have a really good gloves that can be considered as the little brother of these gloves that you can actually get in act 1 and those are the hell Rider gloves which have the apply blade wart on heel effect for boots then we're going to go with the boots of 8 and comfort which grants everything we heal another 3 hit point so that is another buff to our heels which is now the third item in our gear that actually synergizes with all our healing for chest we're going to go with the Luminous armor we apply a raid and Shockwave with this chest piece every time we damage things with R-rated damage which synergizes very well with our spirit Guardians in their radiant form for example as with that we will apply Radiant damage to multiple targets at once all the time for our clock we're going to go with the cloak of displacement which essentially will make it so that every turn the first enemy that tries to hit us will have a disadvantage in doing so really good defensive cloak then let's move on to our weapons first for our Shield we're going to go with vigonias walking Fortress for extra armor class but the Shield's passive grants you a bunch of different really good things as well including a powerful reaction that knocks your enemies prone spell attack rules against you have disadvantage you have advantage on saving throws against spells and you get several spells as well a really good Shield to have then for our main weapon we're going to go with the blood of lathander which is a plus 3 maze so it hits quite hard but it also grants you great effects like when you get down you instantly revive yourself and heal everything around you and you can activate this effect every long rest this also then Stacks with all the Buffs we have to our heels from our other gear making it an even better option for this build it also grants you the tender slide and the crazy Sunbeam spell that blinds everything in its path as well as just deal really great damage and with that you now know every single thing you need to know to be an overpowered cleric early to late game
