HermitCraft 6: 134 | BUILDING SAHARA NOW!

hello ladies and gentlemen and welcome back to another episode of Herman craft season six today we're starting things off on the island because I have been busy I mean look at this thing it looks like a monster it looks seriously cool it is the coolest thing ever the last episode we played around with the idea of instead of having your ordinary bog-standard village trading hall we would have a vending machine a system where the player would be presented with a book and based on whatever page they choose they get a villager and then they can request that villager right to where they're standing it's not great for exercise because you'll be standing still but it is very lazy and it looks very cool if we could get it to function so I played around with that in the last episode and since then I have played around with it a lot more as you can see and I compacted my circuit that I showed you in creative last episode and built this here on the Hermit craft server and guess what I built is live on a live stream so we actually did all of this redstone on a live stream but the cool thing is that this is fully functional and not only is it functional this is actually jam-packed with villagers at the moment I have one slot left to fill and that is a looting three villager which I have just acquired in the genius machine look at that so now I wonder what his final trade will be here I've actually learned through trading with other villagers that some of these villagers will have four books and some will only have two I only I always thought that they would have three so this guy is now going to complete this an historical moment he's going to complete the vending machine press the button Oliver gets sent on and I gotta say while now I've used this genius machine for the true purpose of actually filling villagers that I need it is truly genius it is so nice to work in it's very streamlined I never run out of villagers it's really really nice anyway we got Oliver in here and right now I should be able to send him back so if I press this button he will go up this cool rail staircase and he will go into the final cell and because it's not all full yes that now turned on so now I can finally try this out so let's say that we want let's request Ralph let's request Ralph he has lost protection for and power five I don't usually say blast protection and I just did there it's got blast protection for and power five as trade so what we do is we select it in the book and then we click this button and this is actually rather quick it should take about five seconds to get Ralph here and yeah there is Ralph with blast protection for and power five obviously he has a few other traits that I don't mention because it's not trades that I'm interested in maybe I should mention fire aspect but I'm not a big fan of fire aspect now here's the cool thing we send him back using this very same button I saw a lot of people were concerned in the episode that or in the comments that I will be able to double trigger this but I actually made this little locking mechanism here that unless all villagers are in their cells we can't get a signal to request a new villager I call it the G look after Green the green protected look and yeah I did also fix my little derf with there with a non symmetry on that on the front of this that was probably the most popular comment in the last episode I'm sorry about that deeds so let's just try another one here gertrude for example cursive binding in smite five this is my troll villager the gertrude sells cursive binding so we select it we press the button and this should be completely failed proof I've gotta be honest I'm a little bit nervous because this is the first time I sort of use the system fully fleshed-out but it should be good and it should be pretty quick so there's Gertrude did I spell that wrong Gertrude ed Gertrude did it again Gertrude Gertrude there we go no wait this feels like it should be an e in the book Gertrude rude I'm so sorry that I confuse you so much Gertrude but there you go now you got your name and we can send Gertrude back and I mean this should be like I said foolproof everything should be working it is quick people were very concerned that it was gonna be slow but I feel like I made it as possible we got these cool windows now all that remains with this vending machine is to design the exterior and the interior of this thing and I've made it I made a big choice to make the redstone look as cool as possible using a scallion concrete and gray concrete and then some cyan because remember a big point in this whole competition is decoration and I'm not winning right now I can tell you that much so today I really want to head back to hermit mainland's and I want to work on Sahara now that's sort of my big idea for today because green has raised the building and I'm really excited about it but before we do I really want to try and get this thing finished design wise and so I want this interior to look really clean and nice and I was thinking about using quartz and the regular like tiled quartz ask my floor and besides I discovered the most epic thing ever I had no idea about this but the stonemason trader sells quartz he actually sells quartz so it's now kind of easily obtainable of course I don't have the infrastructure for it at the moment and it's still gonna be a little bit grimy but I mean once we have stonemasons then this will be super super easy and you have to seeing your comments last episode I should totally make several vending machines to be part of this base one for each profession I think at least I'm gonna have two more vending machines because that's gonna give me 45 villagers but maybe maybe I'll go with three more to get 60 villagers in total but for now let's do a third-party time-lapse and let's try and get this building finished now I struggled quite a bit with coming up with a design for this building it was something that I didn't really think would be a big deal but the building was kind of awkward and the only thing I knew when I started was that I wanted a very very clean sort of look which is why I went with the quartz floor and I'm not a big fan of quartz and also I am not using any other white tones in the base area so it was kind of like if I'd be weird not gonna lie it felt a little bit weird putting down a white quartz floor but I I stuck with it and I decided that I wanted to see the finished product before I took any other decision but like I said I really really struggled with coming up with a design that would work for this and look different enough from the other buildings and in the end I decided to try and keep with the whole library idea while installing a massive window on either side of the builders you can see here and then in the middle I decided to go with the whole library thing with the books because I do think it looks really cool and for me I don't know I don't know what it is it's just like if you can tell when you look at a build from the outside what is inside it in terms of what the building is therefore I think that's a cool sort of neat thing that I would like in a base it's cool to be able to walk walk up to a build in anyone's face and be like oh this is the library and I think in the end it turned out really really cool with the big windows everywhere and yes you saw that right I didn't finish the roof of the build yet that is still to come I have to think about what I want to do with it because at the moment it's kind of awkward it's an awkward roof to fill I'm not gonna lie because we got these thing at this height here and then that thing poking up in the middle but all in all I think this is looking really cool specifically during night time with these big windows I do really like it and I think it came out good in the end I'm still not 100% sold on the quartz floor it looks a little bit weird but it is certainly super clean in there I also rewired some of the stuff in the front here so that it would fit a little bit better which is nice oh and one more thing about the build every single glass pane and every single bookshelf place down in this build has been purchased from the villagers so they've kind of provided their own resources for this build which is just a little fun trivia but with all of that done it's time to pack my stuff because I want to now work on Sahara now such an idiot and also I probably need to do a little bit of diamond investing in redstone bits and pieces because well I do have a little bit but I'm running I'm running short after building all of that before I go check this out this is how I now get golden carrots farmers are incredibly useful like incredibly useful and then you step to the side I think it's work hours so he will restock there he goes and then I trade again I mean this is just this is just ridiculous I don't need no carrot form I don't need no gold form I just need Ben and there seems to be another change as well that I didn't know about but they've restored more than two times per day they restocked a lot of times to during the day now I don't know what the limit is or if there is a limit but it seems like they yeah they just constantly restock so that's great I mean golden carrots is now super obtainable now that is a very very cool seeing sight sight yes sight the green has finished the expansion building for Sahara now and I really like this this is looking fantastic it goes with this hora thing and is used a little bit more wood then in the previous thing so it kind of look it happen makes it feel a little bit more exclusive which is exactly what I want before I start with this project I just want to say we're not gonna call it quicksand officially that's our little secret name okay a lot of people have sent in a lot of cool suggestions for logos but most of them say quicksand and not Sahara now the official term is a horn how like quicksand is so funny so what I'm gonna get done today is the shop front part of Sahara now and the idea I'm having is that this horn now customers will have access to this second floor because let's let's be honest I think we can all agree that being up here feels feels like you're kind of in an exclusive club it's like a lounge area on airports or at the airports and I yeah I really like that now unfortunately I'm gonna have to take this very gorgeous green tree down for this and this is I think where I want to place the whole shop front because we got the rail here and we got more trees here but the building that Green has built it's actually right behind here and I should be able to fit the redstone contraption that I've come up with in this little area Oh y-yeah it's gonna be it's gonna be a little bit tight and I don't know why I keep doing this to myself but I keep giving myself a little bit too little space whenever I build something because yes I did mark this area out for Ian so he actually built this after my little measuring tape I I think this should be fine it may be a little bit tricky I may have to do some smart redstone stuff hopefully I can come up with something that works before I go any further I want to try and explain what my plans are for Sahara now the main goal for Sahara now is obviously to make diamonds for the vault I mean let's be honest we all want to make the most diamonds but I want people to keep coming back to Sahara and I want them to sort of almost have to go here if they are Sahara now members every single week and to get them to become Sahara members we need to sell them some sort of membership card and we need to charge a substantial amount of diamonds I would think for the membership card but in order for them to want to become a Sahara now member they would have to have some sort of great reward so here's what I'm thinking Sahara now will weakly present you with offers and these offers will manually be stocked into the Sahara yellow schalke boxes and basically the customers will never really know what Sahara now has to offer but it could be something like this whatever this is 10 11 12 stacks of o'clock's for 10 diamonds let's say or it could be something like this two beacons and enough iron I think now that's not quite enough iron to build two beacons but almost enough iron to build two beacons yeah did you get you get the idea that the deals will be absolutely incredibly good and almost always something that you want to invest in but because the deals are restocked manually every week the customers will never really know what deal Sahara now offer and because they don't know the deals that we have for the any given week they will have to keep coming back to Sahara and when they do they may shop something at Sahara and definitely take a look at our deals now the idea is that the customer the Hermits don't know what they want until they see it I mean who wouldn't want to buy this stuff here for ten diamonds including the Schalke Box by the way I'd buy that any any day and if there are deals like this well I want to be able to check back and make sure that I come here first because it's gonna be limited amount of stock so it's gonna be first come first serve now because the horn now will have these random deals and the customer won't really know what deals we offer I thought it would be really cool if we can present it in like a carousel you know the old wardrobes that has like ties in them you can press a button and you get like a red tie you press another button then you get a black tie I've never actually seen one in real life but they are in old movies and they look really cool I kind of want to do something like that so this is the space that we got to work with to fit this redstone contraption of doom and I think that's gonna be pretty tricky I'm just picturing in my mind this would be white concrete but I'm picturing in my mind some kind of cool-looking enters maybe cut that window down there and put a big now logo up here as well hopefully that would fit and it will probably take away the little cafe tables here and put them maybe over there something like that but yeah I definitely think that this can work I am however really concerned about this space 7 by 8 7 by 8 that's it that's that's all the space that we got to work with and not a lot of a lot of space in the background so ideally it would looks something like this with a payment box on that side the customer then uses the carousel and you press the green button to accept the offer and the shelcha box goes into this barrel and you press the yellow one to see the first offer or the next offer and then the shulkie box would appear there yeah that would be I think very very clean this would then be a wall and this would be a wall oh my goodness what have I got myself into is this yeah that would be that would be super clean if I could make that happen it does mean however that there isn't a whole lot of space to work with in the behind ings here oh dear so if I've done everything correctly this here should now be fully functional I think let's plot the well let's pop some test schalke boxes in the dispenser and let's say that I want to see the first offer I press the yellow button schalke box gets dispensed and then I can pick to keep it and purchase it or I could go to the next one let's say I go to the next one and now I get the next offer which would be that offer and I'm gonna see the next one so I'll press the button and there's the blue one sweet the cool thing with this contraption is that it looks the offers that we haven't yet seen so at the moment we have the red box in there and we've already seen the blue box this cycle so until we've seen old boxes the other boxes are simply chilling I think in this hopper underneath this redstone block right there yeah so we'll never get the same offer twice until we've gone through the entire cycle and then you hear the ding so if I press this button we go through the entire cycle with an here ding and now the whole system resets so now we can get all the salty boxes again now if I want to keep a box I press the green button and that should put the books in this barrel here yes everything is then working we talked about that one actually I haven't tried that out I want to keep another one just to make sure this works and yeah there it is so then the customer gets to take these out and you put the payment in here I mean this is actually fully functional and I did it in this space that was available I'm really proud of this one really proud of this one oh and yeah I made sure to make it on yellow concrete because you can see from the outside there is of course also important that we make this thing look good so I've decided because we have no concrete left at Sahara I've decided to come over - mumbles which farm perimeter with a bunch of concrete powder because Mambo has asked me forever to check out his concrete maker you were discretion his advice don't try this at home hopefully it doesn't blow up and destroy anything okay so I stand here and then just do this no not working oh there we go okay place one first I guess this is really cool so this automatically turns this into gray concrete yeah I totally need one of these myself this thing is so fun let's see how much of that concrete we actually got I don't know if this is lossless I had eight stacks and this is blaze one two three four five six stacks and then some I mean that is a pretty good result there's also some left there of course that we come down next time you harvest concrete yeah this thing is really good I really like it I need one of these in my bases basis I mean base every time I use one of these TNT Bupers I'm always so scared of destroying anything so it always feels good shutting it off anyway we gotta head back to Sahara so now that we got to the concrete and we've got the redstone installed I want to try and make this look really cool as well because that is always important I almost feel like there should be are now going downwards here and o/w in a different color maybe in yellow and then remove that window and highly there but then this area is gonna be kind of close to phobic lets you step inside it yeah this is a little bit of a tricky one to design I'm not gonna lie so I decided to connect up Green's pillar here and build a pillar on the other side and then when I had that done I decided to fill in the middle and I think that I'm getting somewhere I think I'm hoping now I want to try and put the now up here in yellow and this may not work at all because I don't have slabs in yellow I couldn't have to notice that Green hasn't improved this thing so when I when I broke through some of the walls there was some birds and skeletons and yes there was a creeper as well at one point Korean for goodness sake light up your builds I'm not gonna make an M I need to make this five wide I guess I was gonna make it three wide but that's never gonna work with an end takes up half of the space Oh how degree you'd make then I bet you that he used slabs in quartz that n is really clever it uses stairs yeah I probably have to use quartz for this one it doesn't fully fit but it may not matter this may actually look good even though it doesn't fully fit the canvas let's have our completely forgot or overlook the fact that the W is for suhara no and this thing that's stupid just looks weird as well I don't think that's terrible I don't think that's terrible it's kind of an architect a fit into the W and at the same point same time it's like an arrow although the arrow is kind of pointing upwards but I don't know I don't know if Korean we like this or approve of this and he is the architect master anyway I'm a just well leave it though and see what he says I really also want to get some yellow in this build and I'm taking a big risk here taking a big risk of making this box the actual shopping thing yellow and I mean it looks really cool from the outside I would say yeah it does remove the yellow button but I don't think that matters so after cleaning up the surroundings here just a little bit there's still a lot of work that needs to be done with this top lounge floor this is what we're sitting with and I really like this I really like this I I'm slowly getting over the fact that the W is so thick I could make these letters thicker as well but like I said I think I'll leave that part I really do like the contrast in the bottom though and I do like the splash of yellow I had a crazy idea which is to put a sea lantern there to sort of a Miss illustrate the architect a that we got going on in different places and you know yeah we have it there we have it on the floor you know what that's actually pretty cool yep genius that's the sour now logo I I like I like that I really really like that now we're not gonna open Sahara now today because Green is away on a trip and I really want him there and Mambo as we know is still sitting there farting in the meeting room I probably have to change his diapers once again but but anyway I thought before I let you guys go I want to ask you what you think are good enough good enough offers for us to get customers to return to Sahara now I'm at the moment picturing that a membership would be maybe sixty four diamonds and that's a lifetime membership it never expires having that said that may may very well be hundred twenty-eight diamonds this is another thing that Creon is in charge of charging for things but what I would like you guys's help with is what type of deals we could provide I really like the beacon one because every shell key box in Sahara now would be ten diamonds so let's say that everything is ten diamonds to get to fully beacons or beacon setups for 10 diamonds is amazing also may be a full shell key box or maybe this amount of wood is also amazing and in addition you would always get the shell key box when you make a purchase another thing that I know no one is gonna say no to is cylinders people love seal anthers and I have unlimited supplies of cylinders so that should also maybe be another deal of course these can change weekly or whenever we feel like it but just to start things off and would you buy that amount of sea lanterns maybe a few more yeah that amount of sea lanterns and get the schalke box on the purchase for 10 diamonds that's I would buy that but we can configure these however we want so please do help me out or help us out by leaving your suggestions down below in the comments field and I'm gonna be browsing through the comments like a hawk trying to find the best suggestions but that is gonna do for today before I let you go though let's just run through this one more time so the offer of the sea lanterns we accept it let's get the next offer which is wood ah not really fancy good today and then I should get the beacon one which I also want so let's put that in our purchase box and everything should be here for us to pick yeah this system is hard numbers are working and it
