the description down below but now let's get back to the video hell divers 2 is a third person shooter developed by Arrowhead game studios it's obvious L the sequel to Hell divers but I never played hell divers before and I'm betting a lot of you noobs out there also haven't so let me explain what this universe is all about the people of the hell divers Universe LIVE on super Earth and are ruled by managed democracy which according to the government is an improvement of contemporary democracy it's more like your choices don't matter because freedom and democracy are the most important things of all so this propaganda has been used to brainwash the citizens of superar into loving democracy and freedom without even understanding that they really don't have either and in order to maintain this the world needs hell divers and the game makes being a hell diver seem like the most important thing you can do which is showcased in the intro I love that this video is what introduces us to the hell diver World especially when they chest bump each other it's goofy as hell and great satire so the game is essentially Starship Troopers for those of you born in the 2000s it's a movie it's fine you you don't have to see it so while that intro video makes being a hell diver seem amazing it's really much scarier and harder to be a good hell diver since everything and everyone can and will kill you but your death will be towards spreading democracy to the Galaxy and who exactly is the enemy well it's bugs and cyborgs apparently in the first game there was also this faction called illuminates which I've heard are scary as hell but they're not in this game yet there is a lot more lore and story but that stuffs for nerds I know what you want to do is become a true hell diver so let's talk about the game play shall we the gameplay Loop is simple you go in either as one person or up to a squad of four and you complete the main objective which can be kill the bugs kill the cyborgs blow up their bases extract resources save civilians etc etc whatever the government wants you to do you'll do it because successfully completing these missions will unlock you experience medals and requisitions the metals can be used to unlock new cosmetics and look drippy or you can use those medals to unlock new weapons that will definitely make you a better hell diver not guaranteed to make you a better hell diver the requisitions are used to unlock more strategems what are strategy quit interrupting me and I'll tell you you Noob strategems are extra equipment and resources that you can have your ship send you mid-mission they can be as simple as a resupply unit or special Weaponry like rocket launchers and big machine guns they can be orbital strikes which is like you know a huge air strike they can be turrets which are great at killing enemies and killing yourself if you get in the way and much much more as you level up you'll be able to unlock even better strategems like my personal favorite the guard dog this thing zaps enemies with ease it's like you have a companion even when you're alone who needs friends when you have the guard dog most missions will have side objectives like fixing satellites and stuff and hidden loot that will grant you even more experience in these hidden loot areas you can find more requisitions sign samples and super credits the sign samples are extra currency to unlock ship upgrades and the super credits help you unlock premium war bonds you can also buy Super credits with real money but come on you already spent $40 on this game just unlock them naturally it's not that hard you can change the difficulty of the game to do even harder missions and you will be rewarded with extra experience and freedom vouchers and morality monies which get you the best upgrades in the game but you're just starting don't get ahead of yourself trust me hard is hard they do not baby you in this game because while I did mention that everything can and will kill you and I mean everything you don't have unlimited lives which are called reinforcements and if they run out you will fail the mission and you won't earn any of the stuff you collected it's a huge waste of time so trust me take it slow you will eventually get to the point where you can play Crazy difficulties I promise so that's the gameplay Loop in a nut show you go in kill some baddies blow up some stuff find hidden Loot and extract and win then you rinse and repeat over and over again until you're ready to do even harder missions then you'll look even cooler and your load out will become insane like you'll have a nuke at your fingertips because why not there's obviously a lot it didn't go over but I will discuss this game in a little more detail with the I personally really enjoy the gameplay Loop the missions are diverse and the environments are different enough that it does feel like a huge universe for anyone who's played Deep Rock Galactic before rock and stone it's very similar in that gameplay but better in the aesthetic and gun playay I like the Gunplay in this game the guns feel responsive and intentionally inaccurate the game punishes you for reloading without emptying the clip and it rewards patience and smart Gunplay which is so rare in modern shooter titles playing with friends is a treat and even without friends it has a great quickplay feature that will launch you into combat with the team that needs you and if you're alone doing a mission and you need help you can call an SOS Beacon as a strategy and it will increase the likelihood that a random person will join you it's a clever way to implement a solid matchmaking feature into the gameplay on top of that the UI is awesome I love that the main Galactic map where you choose missions can be seen even if you're not the one using it and it can be kind of goofy at times she's like a geoguesser you know I think that's Prussia got it anymore it's so cool that the galactic map shows you if an area is liberated so it incentivizes players to go to spefic specific regions and populate areas that need Liberation it's kind of Genius the strategems are like a mini DDR game or Tekken combos because you have to be fast at inputting stuff mid combat it's so unique and I love the concept and its implementation and if you paid for the premium stuff you can play strategy hero which can help you practice and get the high score I kind of suck at it this game is also very funny the dialogue from the hell divers is always ridiculously over the top screaming freedom and democracy whenever they get the chance how'd you like to chase all freom I also think the game can be unintentionally Goofy with the ragdoll physics when you fall or when you get hit by an explosive or when your teammates randomly kill you or kill you on purpose so funny let's talk about the elephant in the room the servers as of this week they've started booting AFK people so the servers have gotten a lot better but yeah it can suck not being able to hell diive when you want to so hopefully they improve the server's ASAP I've been kicked from servers a lot too so they need to stabilize that as well the movement can feel a bit clunky at times while I love dolphin diving as it is a way to dodge and look badass while doing it the general movement can just feel slow and frustrating at times I just wish you can jump just let me jump only being able to mantle on some things pisses me off I guess I could just use the jetpack and look like Boba Fett which is cool but I think I would rather just be able to jump the enemy forces can also feel a bit repetitive at times you get kind of used to each enemy type occasionally you'll be hit with a huge boss and those battles are fun and a unique time or come on he's right on him it's right on them yeah Dam but after fighting waves and waves of bugs and robots you kind of get the idea hopefully they add more factions and more types of enemies in updates which I'm 100% sure they will so this really isn't an issue that can't be solved the game is also buggy at times you can be stuck in rocks or your teammate has no head or the the spectate feature won't work randomly so you're just spectating your dead corpse I know it's a new game so in time this will be dealt with and I think the priority should be fixing the servers but yeah I think it would be great to see my head please the game is also not the best for people who are alone it doesn't scale to be easier with less players but sometimes you don't want to deal with randoms as they always end up killing me with air strikes oh stop air striking randomly I don't really know how they can improve it but the solo experience could be improved also why can we not skip this Mission debrief screen it takes so long there should at least be a voting option to vote to skip it's a waste of time in a game that wants us to grind and spend time in it please just let us skip this screen for $40 this is easily my favorite new game of 2024 and it might very well be the best one it has a ton of potential and is a breath of fresh air in the shooter Market allowing for us to cooperate as a a unit over trying to kill each other it's nice to not be in a sweaty competitive environment for once so I will be giving hell divers 2 a 9 out of 10 even with this flaws its gameplay graphics and overall Vibe are exactly what I've been waiting for and I cannot wait for this game to give us even more to enjoy but what do you think have you been hell diving if so what's
