GOING PLATINUM AT HOME - DIY BLEACH AND SHADOW ROOT

I'm very anxious disclaimer I am NOT I am not a professional I am NOT a professional I don't have my hair license oh I know I'm gonna get it probably crapped on in the comments and that's fine because I know I'm taking a huge risk doing this and this is not a tutorial because I'm not teaching you how to do this because I can't teach you if I don't know what I'm doing so this is just a video of me just putting the camera to the side and hoping I don't freakin frying my hair off with that out of the way let's get to it I have clean hair I kind of had to just blow dry it a little bit just so the foils will a kind of flat sorry if you hear the TV on the background I'm so anxious one I can't go I can't stop going to the bathroom and I have to have something on in the background or I will lose my freakin mind so I just want to show you guys my hair like a dark ash blonde light brown definitely very ashy roots I haven't had my hair done since April and and if my hairdresser Lindsey is watching you do a great job this does not mean not happy with your work I just feel like when me and Mike are constantly picking up and moving I have to go to all these different hair girls and try to find the right one spend so much money and honestly I just want to figure out how to do this on my own so that way I just save money this might be horrible I don't freaking know but if you're watching this don't think I don't love your work I do that you're amazing I'm just trying to take matters into my own hands I have a lot of bit of regrowth and I I know people are gonna watch this and be like why are you blinking your hair your ends are super light and um I think they're so light but they're really not I have a lot of regrowth I feel like I'm just really dark everywhere I'm gonna do like a balayage method the video down below of what I'm following I really love just like the blond all over look but I really didn't want to just like dump bleach on my hair and like have the rooted look with the bleach on the roots even though I could have done as much root I don't really know what I'm doing right now I do not I'm doing but I'm saying I don't know what to talk to you guys thought it was a so out of my element but I just know you're probably gonna watch something like oh you didn't even need to light your hair but personally like that is so dark for me but yeah I just want to show you guys the before and then like when I put my hair up it is pretty dark so this is where I'm like oh yeah dark everywhere so basically I just have all these roots and then a blonde little and so now I'm light by just miss it as when I say brighter like I don't want to ashy or just want like blonder we're just gonna see what happens I will say I have been researching this extensively for the past three weeks on products methods what not to do what to do so once again I'm not a professional and I know that and even you probably shouldn't do this do your own research I don't want to be responsible for anything that goes wrong for you I've just been researching for almost a month now and I just feel like it's time and we're just gonna see what happened - I am gonna go [ __ ] my pants I'm so scared so I have a one mirror right here and then one right here and I have an old t-shirt on my clothes I don't care about and I'll lay some towels down let's go mix everything up I'm stirred my heart is beating so fast okay the bleach that I decided to go with oh my gosh I need to just chill it's just freaking hair gosh my heart is is the belong to me bye swoosh coffee can you say it oh my gosh my heart this has a bond and forcers so I don't necessarily need an olaplex number one aversion we go with this to protect my hair because under the lottery on this blonde lighting powder and also I thought the 20 developer and the order of these at the same time and then I was like who I kind of wish I could use like a version of multiplex that they sell at Sally's but I really decided I didn't want to do that because that would bump my 20 volume down to a 10 because it's now I know the new olaplex doesn't bump me down a step but I don't know anything about like the dupe brand at Sally's and I didn't want to take the risk using 10 volume developer on top of my hair which is I need that lift so I will be fine since there's a bond and forcing element in this bleach let's look at some directions mixing ratio is one to one and a half parts processing times 20 to 45 minutes I'm gonna get my mixing bowl so okay so I'm going to do one part bleach to one and a half parts volume developer so I'm gonna put I'm not trying to mess up my hair so one scoop when you use the thing that ideal need it up conditionally [Music] one batch at a time [Music] I know you're not supposed to go over already lightened hair want my blonde I'll be the same I think what I'll do is I'll just feather through the ends I'm not gonna like completely saturate the ends and I also have a bonding like all the flex number two to do after I'm done good consistency I'm going to go ahead and mix a whole other batch just so I don't have to come in here and do it again [Music] they say you don't want to mix too much at the same time like if I were to go in with all that bleach at first because then it would swell [Music] [Applause] it's the next day and I was not successful yesterday because I got really um scared I was gonna fry my hair off so I didn't let it process for the time that it needed I got some good lightness like some of these pieces are really light you just want to get really light and I probably shouldn't light my ends any more but see like right there it looks pretty light compared to here so today I'm really just focusing on like my roots to about here so I think what I'm gonna do is I'm going to just section my hair out do the perimeter and then take a section do the roots do the roots and then let that process for 45 minutes cuz I am using the belong to me which is a blue bleach and it kind of tricks you it looks like oh that looks beautiful and white and then you like rinse your hair and then your a carrot looks awesome mike has been calling me orange peel I probably could tone right now and just be fine but I just want to see what to do and I think touch-ups will be easier if I just go ahead and do my roots so this is an experiment and we're just going with the flow once again not a hairdresser and I feel like I am welcoming the hateful comments as you watch me do this because I'm probably not supposed to be putting bleach on me and I think I'll put them on the ends just at the very end just to make sure everything is the same I'm only using 20 developer I'm not using 30 I have a 10 developer to use for the toner it could just use the bat on my ends but don't know how that reacts with the blonde me I read that you're supposed to only usable on me developer and that's what I have yeah so let's do this thing can't see where it's anything these face whoa baby put it on all my ends I did not want to fry them but if you like no my tops gonna be a lot lighter than my bottom it's been time and it's time to rinse off I'm gonna rinse my hair off I should have frickin done my ends I kind of want to like rinse off and do more maybe we'll see oh you're right so it off and I'll be right back whoa baby holy crap on a stick whoa all right so so I know my roots look great very white cuz I did them first and my the heat from my head made them activate quicker but I'm still pretty rusty cuz I didn't really do my ends so I was scared a fry off but now I feel like I need to do my hair cuz that's not gonna that's not gonna work I'm gonna get in the shower and just kind of see what we got going on so this it's called hot roots and I knew this would happen I'm gonna put the step to be like olaplex doop that I talked about earlier I'm going to do that and then I'll just kind of see what I need to do next so I'm gonna use the color sealer number two this is going to keep my hair healthy especially if I'm going to bleach it again today I just rinsed my hair I didn't actually do what I didn't actually do um fewer conditioner I just rinsed it really gonna focus on everything let this sit for things like 20 minutes is what you're supposed to do looks good but I totally forgot some baby hairs it's definitely like platinum which is kind of crazy I really think I could tone it I'm kind of trying to decide what to do time like I'm in the shower I'm like scared when I touch my hair it's gonna like be my hands but my hair has been totally fine and that is because the research I did on that bleach it's a bond and can't sing on enforcing bleach so it's definitely crazy looking I mean I knew I wanted to be blonde but that is like that is white oh well from Kipp possible to Kim Kardashian oh crap like the this part looks fine I'm just like worried about how different I mean that's a big difference and that's because I didn't put light nur on the ends because I didn't want to ruin my hair but now I look crazy so I think I have to I think what to get because I saturated this [ __ ] out of my roots and not the rest of my hair so I think I'm just gonna go in and paint from my root down let that sit and I think we'll be good by that point says I'm gonna be done at that point regardless oh and I I don't even know if I'm gonna post this video oh my gosh I thought I just got home and I'd be like hi honey I know I'm not supposed to bleach I was already lightened I don't know what else to do you might even need to I'm just gonna clean let this sit shampooing conditioned let it dry and I'll be right back all right look like a psycho because I haven't toned my hair I'm trying to decide if I need to go back in and bleach like with its blow-dried it all looks normal except those were it's like psycho definitely want to have a roots nuts I feel super weird seeing it like my hair like this Oh root I feel I feel like Draco freakin Malfoy whoa Joe all right guys so I just did a few pieces that were just really really warm in the mid-shaft it just ends kind of like with my with gloves just like kind of at the ends so now I'm going to rinse my hair put the step to color sealer on just for a few minutes in the shower and then I will shampoo condition tone and then I'll come back so we'll see the difference and I'm gonna use the t11 toner I don't really love the results when I see people use t11 I think it's just really gray so this one has more of like violet and gold and undertones so we will see how it looks all right so I'm gonna use the t11 Wella charm toner hi Draco here's one part toner to two parts developer I'm using the ion ten developer so I'm just going to pour I'm just gonna pour the toner in here and then I'm gonna fill that jar up twice I put in here is strong why did I could smell it hopefully I will look like a normal human after this [Applause] well that's one well to go mix her up why do I keep smelling it oh my god baby are you hungry do zig zag emotions on my roots and then I'll just apply it to the rest of my hair and only leave out for about five minutes hey so I just I'm toning my hair I'm gonna wait for a few minutes you can already see everything's changing and I'm not scared anymore which is good I just hope that my ends look as good as my calmness because I'm still kind of debating if I should do a shadow root or not honestly I'm exhausted I've been doing this for so long so I hope I don't have to go to Sally's but looking good [Music] and the feeling I went really really happy with it yeah I have never been so thankful for toners I was very scared every time that I rinsed my hair out today which is like 500 I was scared that I would go like this and just have all my hair in my hand but I really feel like the blonde me bleach and only using 20 developer really helped with um keeping my hair healthy and using the step to in between and everything so yeah like I said I'm not sure if I love this crazy light root look I've never had my roots look like this before so I think maybe in a few days I'll see if I want to put like an 8 and ash just to kind of give me a little bit of a root bump I don't know for now I love it and yeah I'm very impressed and I'm very excited that this went well because I was really scared I was gonna look like Ronald McDonald for a long time so and I will leave down below my favorite videos that really helped me like what who is this Draco sister [Music] sorry the lighting is horrible I'm not even worried about the lighting right now so I'm going to so I have this part and then I also do a middle part oh I don't want it to be like freaking long like I'm not putting it all the way down here I'm just gonna do like a little bit and kind of comb it out just don't know how many layers I'm gonna do I just don't feel like myself with the roots I think I'll felt better anxious I'm more scared to do this than I was bleaching my hair yesterday so I'm gonna do this right side first alright oh oh this lighting is horrible I'm so sorry I was like an oompa loompa it's just because I'm blocking the light because my mirrors right here that is why that looks like that I need a breeze I'm very anxious right now [Music] I'd be careful because I don't want to like go everywhere so I'm doing really fine clips y'all my heart is wrong with me so pointing it like this first because my scalp is so red okay so I'm first gonna hold this tight because I want to get the root all the way back and then I'll undo it and then kind of work about that way so cute I'm effing nervous I have a smaller brush and I'm also gonna paint it on just about two here and here and then I think I'm gonna do little actually I really don't want this part so but I just did this I don't want this part to be a part of this I don't want that to get dark same with this I'm selling scared so much [Music] clean hair I freaking love it you guys I was really worried about not having dimension but I just feel like I do though I think I do and that um root shadow really just made me feel like my freakin self it's not perfect at all but I will definitely go with more of an ash color next time because the neutral definitely pulled warm and the sunlight the first few days I was like oh my gosh I look like I have amber like roots which and that's not the point because I have ashy roots so but for my first time doing this I really am happy with the results I really am so I think next time I will just be careful when I do this shadow root but I love it but I've been doing it putting a lot of like coconut milk serums and hydrating serums and conditioners and all that I'm gonna style it - everything is styled now as you can see the root is beautiful like I said it's not perfect but for me it's a win I did have to give myself I mean you don't need of a trim I needed one anyways cuz I hadn't gone to the hair salon since April and after bleaching and everything so I'm using purple shampoo and then like the color matrix generic brand from Sally's conditioner and yeah I'm just really happy with the tone of the hair how bright it is the root gave it so much dimension and I've just I would love my hair and I'm really freaking happy that this worked out well so yeah I just wanted to show you guys the root after I'm really sorry about my lost footage of the first day I tried the balayage lol don't do that and then I freaky my camera cut out when I was doing the root touch so I know that's annoying but I will link in this girl Courtney uploaded how she dyed her she bleached your hair and then did a root smudge and her video is what like I followed to the tea so I will link her down below because if you just follow that that's basically what I did and that's how I got the idea I'll post all the videos down below that help to me Erol sorry that that cut out honestly though I was freaking out at first because it started to go really Orange and I was like I just effed up my hair but it ended up working out fine and I didn't keep it on for long so this is in front of natural light so this is there was no ring light no nothing because I can't stand when you click on a video and it's like I went blonde at home and it's some girl with brown hair and then it looks like this and then she took
