manchester we say laugh because it's a flat ah um in the south of england and london they say laugh it's more of a r laugh so just be prepared if your examiner's from the north of england he'll say laugh when was the last time you left do you like watching funny programs tv shows do you like to make people laugh and how do you do it is it important for friends to laugh together what about telling jokes are you good at telling jokes do your friends like to tell jokes have you ever watched a live comedy show right so lots of interesting questions that we will be looking at today excellent so first of all just as we begin um before we begin um can i just say a big big thank you to the donors and sponsors who help make this kind of class possible um thank you very much to andrea gomez samira pereira uh mohammed ali thank you very much you guys love it it's a big big help great just remember um if you are watching on youtube a lot of you are watching now you may be button those of you on facebook you can't subscribe but you can join the um the what the keith's ielts mastermind community it's the facebook page um if you look for it on facebook you can find it um sorry the facebook group uh come and join the group nice good so yesterday um yesterday i asked you uh i asked some of you on the facebook group who are your favorite comedians so before we begin let's just get some vocabulary very very clear right um very important words right so the pronunciation is important um the first one is comedy comedy that's the noun um and it's either well it can be a film a film can be a comedy a series can be a comedy right um but it can also be an adjective a comedy whoops a comedy series we could say okay it's a comedy uh the genre comedies i like comedies comedian now notice that stress changes comedian can you say that comedian think of the me in your humor comedian hilarious is a nice word right hilarious just means very funny so say this with me he's a hilarious comedian nice you can hear the me hilarious comedian brilliant a comedian we can also call a comic it's the same a comic he's a professional comic he's a professional comic brilliant but do notice that comic is also a magazine right a magazine for normally for children but not necessarily also for adults so a magazine with pictures and stories in the form of a comic is also a comic the adjective comical comical that pay rise is comical do you know when your boss says i give you a pay rise you can have one dollar extra every month that pay rise is comical right it's it's it's nonsense right excellent good so here are the basic words we should know to talk about this um ashraf a genre is a type or a kind right a type of film so when we talk about a type of film or a genre of film we're talking maybe about comedies thrillers action movies romantic movies right that is the the genre okay yes real good comics person also a magazine well done thank you is it a hilarious or an hilarious well clint good question right just to make it clear for everybody it's it's hilarious because the h he hilarious is pronounced right hilarious so it's a hilarious comedian okay if it was not pronounced if it was an o like open it would be an open but hilarious great well done some good questions there pay rise is when you get more money your boss gives you more money magdie i i do read your comments but not all of them because there are so many right um great mario new subscriber well done thanks for joining us yes reza genre is a french word we stole it shh don't tell the french they don't know we stole it from them and we use it in english okay yes charlie chaplin you don't need in english really you don't not for charlie chaplin because it's a certain kind of comedy so um brilliant now going back to that list right i thought this was really interesting so i asked you guys who were your favorite comedians and these are some of the names um i got uh some of them i know but i don't know all of them and some of them are a little bit misspelled but okay mr bean of course rowan atkinson so be careful mr bean is the character rowan atkinson is the comedian right rowan atkinson actually has lots of different characters yeah he's the real person he has lots of characters mr bean is just one of his many many characters gabrielle iglesias is a great uh i'm not sure if he's mexican i think he's he's american but he's hispanic american very funny jim carrey laurel and hardy going back a long time right uh who else have we got all of these kemal sun michael mcintyre british kevin hart charlie chaplin going back capital channel seems to be very big and popular um robin williams rest in peace was a great great comedian we've got others adam sandler um if i can pronounce it uh ellen degeneres as well shinee says that's right and then degeneres was a very very uh is a very very popular and big big comedian excellent um so there's lots of them there who else your favorite is mr b accent british or american who me cyber um i'm british absolutely how dare you i am british kevin hart seems popular yeah kabul sharma indian and famous comedian i watched some clips and i was looking for some english and i know he spoke some english he speaks speaks very good english but what he does and as i think on a lot of indian programs is they mix they switch right between i don't know if it's hindi or punjabi i think it was hindi and english and they keep switching so he goes right oh it's good to see you i thought good to see you what and and i can't catch it but he seemed very funny he seemed to be very very very popular sergey who says my favorite comedian is keith o'care nice one eddie murphy that's going back a long time right eddie murphy going back a very long time okay brilliant hello come back don't know what happened there so listen guys i'm going to show you a very short clip of a few of these artists and we're going to talk about the their style of comedy and why they're funny but let's just take a couple of moments and watch two or three of these comedians and i hope your favorites come up but i'm not sure these are all english-speaking comedians right of course because we're focusing focusing on english there are some fantastic of course comedians all across the world but i can only share english speaking because we don't all understand all the other languages so here we go let's have a look um at a couple of comedians you'll have to wait a moment it always takes a moment to get ready and to download who is your favorite comedian keith ah that is a nice question my favorite comedian one of them is peter k right peter k um and he maybe i can uh where can i write that for you let me write it up here and i'll tell you what i'm going to do actually is i will give you a list of british comedians later peter k because he's from manchester he's actually from bolton but from the north of england he's a fantastic stand-up comedy comedian he's really really good but i will um share come back i will share a list of british comedians with you let's dig in and have a look at this uh two or three comedians just to get us in the mood i started posting on facebook and twitter that we were gonna go out there to do these shows and then people started sending me messages questioning what i was gonna do first of all are they gonna understand you in india will they understand english okay will they be able to follow along with your stories once we got there i come to find out that more people speak english in india than in all of the us and canada put together oh great i love it oh very very good change the microphone a moment great very very funny mr bean is great i like it i liked all of those jim kerry is very funny as well excellent good so there were a couple of interesting questions there um just going back if somebody said if i don't like comedy or watch comedy what do i talk about i think somebody said that i can't find the message now um well it's like all things in ielts right when you're preparing if you know nothing about history or science or maybe you know nothing about art or nothing about comedy do some research find out just one or two things about those topics so you've got something to say you know comedy's gonna come up you know history or science might come up so just find out one or two people facts stories something to say even if you don't in your everyday life right that's part of your preparation that you should do right great oh good great so we're going to look so the different styles there i mean we had um at the very very beginning uh gabrielle iglesias who was a stand-up comic right he does stand-up comedy um he stands up on a stage and talks uh we often call that observational humor where you observe somebody it's observational humor because you're observing um you're observing their everyday life and how it can be funny okay um let me just write these down for you so you've got stand-up comedy that's a bit small and very often we call that observational comedy because you're observing everyday life but making it funny right looking at the simplest things but giving it a funny twist right so that is giving a funny twist to everyday life routines if you like right you could say that absolutely great we also saw there um well laurel and hardy now laurel and hardy tend to be a slapstick it's very visual humor like mr bean right it's not about the words it's about seeing its visual humor slapstick is that kind of where they're they're moving and they're falling over they're walking down boom they fall over um he picks up the telephone and it's not a telephone so it's it's things like that where there's movement and often hitting people slap sorry but to slap someone is just is to hit so slapstick your charlie chaplin's um abbott and costello laurel and hardy will hay a lot of those are all slapstick again i can just write this down for you slap stick comedy it's all slapstick um so we also call that visual humor visual humor slapstick comedy visual humor that kind of thing tommy cooper died on stage live yeah yes oh stand up very good uh it it's sometimes with a hyphen sometimes without a hyphen rachel i think it's normally with a hyphen but not always um tommy cooper was another classic let me add tommy cooper to our list because he was a great great comedian and he did he had a heart attack on stage and the audience thought it was slapstick you know he was on stage and he went oh and he fell down and the audience were laughing because they thought it was slapstick and of course he died but you know on retrospect that's probably how he would like to die right making people laugh that was that's what he did best i mean he was an amazing comic so visual humor um jim carrey is also a lot of slapstick right that same kind of style if you like okay yes rjk i will when we look at some questions i'll give you some example answers we can do as well yes okay musical comedy romantic comedy great sayantana let's share those because those are nice musical comedies you do find uh romantic comedies of seem to be on netflix now there's loads of romantic comedies alan sadler right i think he's in a lot of those great how do you become a great stand-up comic i don't know but i know somebody who is a very good stand-up comic luke luke thompson from luke's ielts not ielts luke's english podcast if you're a lepster follow luke you'll know luke he's a great um he's very funny but he does stand up comedy actually and he's part-time so you'll have to go and ask luke uh how to do that luke's podcast if you've not found it go look for teacher luke great so there are some different styles right um i'm gonna add a couple more later but first of all let's ask you this question let's see what you answer first and then i'll give you my answer so do you like come on keith out of the way do you like watching funny tv shows let me know in the comments that means comments by the way doesn't mean i'm nervous it means comments type max chobarani great yes good [Music] so let's see what we've got i like to watch the friends tv show actually tell you what i'm just going to move this down to get rid of that ielts speaking stuff get it out of the way that's better good i like to watch friends tv show yeah it's nice right juve yet it did depend on such situations okay um yes so it depends on i would say different situations right yeah it depends on different situations if i'm in the mood for right um if i am in the mood for comedy then or if i am feeling down maybe if i am if i can type if i can feel that then i would like to yeah to watch nice good so it does that's a good answer right if it it depends on different situations if i'm in the mood for or if i'm feeling down feeling sad then great yes sarub yes as it helps me as a stress buster very nice stress buster to help you relax right okay great um what else have we got this is nice yes i'm fond of comedy shows like the big bang theory yep excellent he's good isn't he some people say i look a bit like sheldon out of the big bang theory i can't think why fluffy is also a great comedian right isn't fluffy um mystery iglesias i think so i'm not sure so remember ah right amenti fluffy is also a great comedian nice right good no i don't like it so you may want to say no i don't like it um absolutely great material ielts yes i'm an avid comedy tv shows okay i'm an avid uh viewer of comedy tv shoes come on you don't mean shoes surely surely you mean shows yes i'm an avid viewer of comedy tv shows nice right good interesting ever i feel it's a waste of time right no i don't it's a waste of time okay great yes indeed i'm extremely fond of sitcoms right sitcoms situational comedy like friends and things like that absolutely great what else anything else oh there's so many comments where do i begin okay nice expression particularly when i'm feeling blue let me add that to my list here blue down or blue great yeah i'm really into comedy shows so we can see the language of i'm fond of i'm into you can use here again and again sanveen yes i do it's a great way to break the monotony of everyday life excellent very very nice the monotony of everyday life excellent very very good so some great ideas there good very very nice um what would i say well you'll have to ask me do you like watching funny tv shows keith by and large yes i do but it depends right if i'm feeling a bit down or down in the dumps there's nothing like a good comedy to cheer me up and you know what i'm really fond of the old um comedians like laurel and hardy abbott and costello especially the stand-up comedians sorry not stand up they're not especially the slapstick comedians i find visual humor really funny and just cheers me up overall that was a long answer yes there you go so that's it yes it depends you have to be careful in part one because in part one you may find you want to talk a lot but you're only going to get three or four sentences before the examiner boom cuts in with the next question which is okay this question okay let's have a look at this one do you like to make people laugh so this is about you do you like to make people laugh okay once again type in your answer below tell me what you think do you like to make people laugh ah yeah good right this is interesting right habel it's a very very interesting answer um let me just help you with your spelling because i know you're writing so fast that inevitably there are gonna be some uh spelling mistakes because you all of you are writing so fast no but my daughter is a great comedian very very good right um because if the answer is no you can't say no i don't like laughing no you've got to show off your english so talking about someone else is a great strategy great do you like to make people laugh no not really but i know someone who does my daughter is a great comedian she likes to tell jokes and make people laugh out loud for example right great good uh samsuati yes absolutely that's a nice way to make friends kazzy says i would like to make people laugh by mimic right this is interesting by mimi king i'm not sure how we're gonna spell this i'm not sure if my okay by mimicking i would like to make people laugh by mimicking so to mimic someone is to imitate them and we often call that parody as well a parody when you imitate another person right so you can make people laugh by mimicking them that's really really good yeah i like to write really really small what's happening there come on i like to mimic or imitate people polls i like to imitate polls yes i like to mimic or imitate people um yeah excellent good just to let you know so a parody we talked about different kinds of uh different kinds of genres of um comedy a parody is where you imitate someone to make fun of them i should make fun of my writing for goodness sake right good excellent where else are we harsh yes definitely usually my friends call me comedy man comedy man yes this is nice magdy says sometimes when i want to reduce the tension of a situation that's nice to reduce the tension right very very good so we can talk about to reduce the tension to relieve the relieve the stress things like that yes okay good kai says we can in fact i'm good at telling jokes good at telling jokes is brilliant yes this is challenging right i know nice from abby of course it is the best thing in the world to make someone laugh make someone laugh brilliant very nice excellent so good um what if i ask myself keith do you like to make people laugh now and again yes i really enjoy making people laugh it makes me happy as well as them happy and i find it quite easy to make people laugh either through cracking a joke or telling some observational humor that resonates with people and people enjoy that and i think it just makes everybody relax okay so we can talk about right to tell a joke if you like to tell a joke or to crack a joke okay not to say a joke no to tell a joke or to crack a joke right we've also got the expression that cracks me up means it makes me laugh laugh that cracks me up is a great expression right jim carrey cracks me up laurel and hardy crack me up there's two of them right crack me up um sorry come back get rid of me that cracks me up it makes me laugh yes so nice okay let's um let's stop for a moment and let's have a riddle hooray today actually it's a special kind of riddle the riddle is the puzzle so i like to challenge you and i like to catch you out that is to give you a riddle or a puzzle that nobody can find the answer to and i wonder if you can find the answer today it's a special bonus because as well as the riddle i'll be giving you some jokes some typical british jokes and then you can learn english through comedy as well and i'll share a nice website with you riddle time okay so just to explain the riddle to understand this you need to know this word right saint ives by the way those of you just joining we're talking about comedy right and laughing so the say saint hives is a town or a city in england and this the riddle is about saint ives right so that's the name of a city my voice rebounds really do you mean there's like reverberation let me just double check then make sure is everybody getting the same strange sound okay it should be set okay it's okay okay so here is the riddle i have to find it first of course sometimes teaching online you need to be a technician as much as a teacher right are you ready so pay attention you'll have to listen very very carefully for this i'll repeat it twice as i was going to saint ives saint ives right i met a man with seven wives each wife had seven sacks each sack is a bag had seven cats each cat had seven kittens kittens cats saxon wives how many were there going to saint ives get it let's see what you've got seven okay sounds great good thank you just checking seven zero [Music] six oh oh my god so hard seven times seven times seven times come on rachel mrs lazy get your calculator out francis seven hettel 2407 petal come back where are you come back oh i've lost you okay 28 49 7 hettle there you are that's the biggest number ever and 35 which one's your name 35 or the other repeat i'll repeat one more time okay and i think you'll get it when i repeat it i'm sorry but right saint ives is a city as i was going to saint ives i met a man with seven wives each wife had seven sacks each sack had seven cats each cat had seven kittens kittens cats sacks and wives how many were there going to saint ives i'm loving this i'm loving this so a few of you have got the right answer a few of you have got the right answer so steve well done shyla well done path well done okay where are we who's got the answer let me put uh no clue you'd come on i'm not giving you a clue here uh gem lymphedes okay that's the answer it's one right the answer's one and you're going why why because because as i was going to saint ives i met a man going away from saint ives so the man the wives the sack the cats the kittens are going away i was going to say dives the answer's one me so well done well done quite a few of you there who got got the one well done well done good excellent so that's a nice little riddle okay now listen jokes right just to share with you some jokes in english give me a moment i'm going to share a couple of style of jokes with you because i think it's a great way to learn english where are we oh there's more oh yes we've done that we've done that okay a couple of jokes but just before i'm gonna mix some jokes and some language for you i've talked about parodies so these are types of comedy right let's get rid of saint ives so parody is where you imitate somebody so maybe you imitate a pop star or you imitate a politician and you make fun of them that's a parody satire is just ridiculing or mocking somebody so similar to parody but not necessarily imitating just making fun right ridicule mock make fun of it's all good ways of saying it let's just practice a bit of pronunciation with me satire ridicule they ridicule politicians they mock celebrities they mock celebrities he made fun of me made fun of fun of connect fun of me he made fun of me i like to make fun of politicians great nice good we talked about visual humor slapstick comedy wit that's the other one wit is a really important part of comedy it's the play on words it's where you make comedy by playing with the meaning of a word right do you remember the riddle a while back we had a riddle um what is black and white and red all over right a newspaper now that is wit it's playing with the meaning of words what is black and white and red all over a newspaper right because it's playing on the meaning of red red can be it's the same pronunciation as red so you think it's about the color it's black and white and red but actually it's to read the past of red it's red it's a newspaper right that is wit and playing on words which is what we're going to look at um right now as we look at some comedy okay so some typical jokes hi is it a pun similar to a pun yes similar to a pun that's good actually let's add that to a pun so a pun is where you change the meaning of a word to make it funny or you don't change the meaning you use the second meaning of a word to make to to make it funny right um yes okay so a couple of jokes right typical joke types i don't know if you know these but three of the most common jokes in england are a man or a bear or an animal walks into a bar and right um for example i don't know if you'll get this but i'll try for example a snack no not a snack a packet of crisps right a packet of crisps walks into a bar and says i would like a beer please and the barman says i'm sorry but we don't serve snacks we don't serve snacks means we don't give crisps and snacks to the customer but it also means i don't give you the snack the crisps a drink right the other one is knock knock knock knock who's there so this joke is always the same not lock who's there and then it sings like a name right either and then you say either who right and then the joke the play on words is where you change the name into a different meaning for example i've a lot of money so let me in right either i've uh i've a lot of money so let me in [Music] knock knock you say who's there either iva who i have a lot of money so let me in right get it or another one knock knock who's there lettuce lettuce lettuce who let is who and then here's the joke right let us in it's cold out here let's let us let us in it's cold out here get it don't worry some of these are quite difficult sorry let us in did you hear about the irishman who so every country makes fun of one kind of person maybe you make fun of the irishman in spain they make fun of the man from lippy as a city i think the i'm not sure if it's the swedish who make fun of the norwegians or the finnish make fun of the swedish they make fun of people from another country and there's always uh one kind of person who is the butt of the joke right the butt of the joke so here in england we say irishmen are the butt of the joke the butt is the target right because we have this stupid idea that the irish are not very clever this is the problem with comedy right comedy has to not attack but make fun of somebody um and so unfortunately in england we make fun of the irish i'm sure the irish make fun of us as well so typical jokes did you hear about the irishman who was swimming from island to england he got halfway but he was so tired he decided to go back he got halfway and was so tired he decided to go back he's got to swim the same distance he might as well just carry on anyway these are the kind of silly jokes okay the butt of the joke yeah a lot of these they may not be funny right and a lot of people say it's not funny to make fun of other people very true these are the kind of traditional jokes interestingly nowadays a lot of these jokes are not acceptable because if you're making fun of different nationality or race etc so let me switch let me show you um a couple of other jokes right i'll just show you one or two more let's see if i can show you oh can i show you this i think i can if this works ah not exactly how do i show it to you then i'm sure there's a way bear with me yeah guys offensive jokes yes exactly some jokes are offensive we have to be very very careful yeah okay um just let me show you a couple of others i'll show you one or two more then i'll share them with you later a bear walks into a bar and says give me a whiskey and cola why the big paws so a bear walks into a bar and says give me a whiskey and cola why the big paws ask the bartender the bear shrugged i'm not sure i was born with them so the joke is pause is a gap right but paws are the hands of the bear so the bear says give me a whiskey and cola a pause right and the barman says why the big paws and the bear thinks he's talking about his paws why the big paws i'm not sure i was born with them okay that's it i'm gonna leave these with you and you can go and work them out a little bit later on okay let's come back let's come back to our next question okay so we're going to look at the next question and i'm just going to find it here we go here's the next question here we go here we go sorry it takes me time to find the stuff do you think it's important for friends to laugh together do you think it's important for friends to laugh together tell me what you think pronunciation is the key you're absolutely right hardik this is the best thing you can do to relax before your test yeah into is true comedy is very cultural so it is difficult to understand sometimes not just the words but why it's funny yeah okay okay man we've got magi says absolutely it's a very good way to bond together right infinite love i got this question on my test well tell us your answer infinite love if you remember jessica says completely important in this way friendship becomes becomes deeper yeah nice let me give you an s great dry prune great handle dry prune yes because it gives that kind of connection between two people nice shorthand okay similarly yes it will strengthen the bond you have with each other yes okay good so we've got some nice words there um strengthen the bond build a deeper connection nice good oh i'm not sure about this it helps us to rejuvenate ourselves from work stress rejuvenate is to make you younger i wouldn't say rejuvenate i think it refreshes you it can help you to refresh ourselves [Music] it can help us to refresh ourselves from work stress maybe not from work stress it just helps us to refresh and relieve our work stress now this is interesting from dawn of course as this will determine if they are in the same boat so you can find out if you are thinking alike if you are friends and if you think on the same wavelength right so that's a nice thing to say is it important for friends to laugh together yes it can help discover or determine let's put determine that's a nice word if we are in the same boat on the same wavelength have the same things in common right all of those are very very similar things lie store and that's great good it can strengthen the bond build a deeper connection yes it help it can help determine if we are in the same boat on the same wavelength have the same things in common nice mary says yes laughing together creates a good vibe for the group a good vibe for the group is nice yes okay yes let's add that in it creates a good vibe for the group excellent very very nice helps this is a nice one yeah from gianta yes it is it helps building up bonding between the friends it helps build it helps building up bonds build a bond build rather than bonding it helps build up bonds between the friends and it helps them unwind yes excellent yes unwind is a nice one helps them unwind okay great so some interesting expressions and words we can use there good do you think it's important for friends to laugh together what do you think keith do you think it's important for friends to laugh together i think it's absolutely critical that friends laugh together on the one hand it helps deepen the bond friends have between friends have with each other but at the same time in this day and age there is so much stress from work and things like the coronavirus that laughing just helps us to de-stress unwind and kick back and enjoy life so we don't always take things too seriously oh right always don't take things too seriously great there's another expression that occurred to me um you know we need to take things with a pinch of salt pinch of salt and that means not too seriously we need to take things with a pinch of salt right salt you put in the food take things with a pinch of salt doesn't mean it will taste good it means don't take it seriously don't take it too seriously so i think yes laughing with friends is important it's important that we take things with a pinch of salt and that we can unwind and de-stress sometimes absolutely great some very good answers there stop and smell the roses smell the coffee smell the roses paul yes great some good answers brilliant um so i'm just going to finish up with a couple of things i'm just going to check there were some other phrases i wanted to share with you that might be useful as we're talking about this topic and then as we finish i'm going to do a test a kahoot test with you but let's have a quick look at some vocabulary that might be useful for you okay so we talk about to tell a joke or to crack a joke okay let's practice this together so you can just do some vocabulary work as well sorry some pronunciation work right i like to crack jokes repeat with me i like to crack jokes notice like two because the k and the t are close we say i like it's not cur it's not i like i like to i like to crack jokes my joke raised a smile it means my joke made other people smile my joke raised a smile right repeat with me my joke raised a smile nice or my joke got a few laughs my joke got a few laughs brilliant often we say to have a laugh i like to have a laugh i like to have a good laugh doesn't necessarily mean you're hahahahaha laughing out loud but it just means i like to have fun right i like to have a good laugh repeat with me and focus on the intonation i like to have a good laugh can you hear that i like to have a good laugh when you laugh aloud you must know this one laugh aloud right lol laugh out loud we can say i was in stitches i was in stitches yep or i split my size my sides is here and split is to open right you're laughing so much i split my sides laughing i split my sides laughing okay or even i burst out laughing same thing burst is explode i burst out laughing connect the t out i burst out i burst out laughing say again i burst out laughing yeah or i was laughing in the aisles i was laughing in the aisles the aisles is the the passageway you know like on the um in the cinema you've got all the seats and in between the seats the place where you walk that's the aisle so you're laughing not in your seat but you've fallen into the aisles i was laughing in the aisles or it was a barrel of laughs a barrel is like a container or a box almost it was a barrel of laughs try that it was a barrel of laughs notice how we stress barrel this real strong stress on that it was a barrel of laughs good very nice great there's this expression as well um when i didn't get the score i wanted i just i decided to just laugh it off to laugh it off is to laugh about it right don't take it seriously take it with a pinch of salt laugh it off i didn't get the score ah laugh it off don't worry about it and to have a good sense of humor so we talk about a sense of humor right you have a good sense of humor or you have a twisted which means a very strange sense of humor or maybe a dry sense of humor that's when you tell a joke but you don't laugh right what's black and white and red all over a newspaper that's a dry sense of humor you just don't laugh dark sense of humor is where whoa yes it's a bit often jokes about death and dying um is you talk about a dark sense of humor excellent just a couple of questions i can see a few of you are asking the difference between laugh and laughter right so it's very simple laugh okay it's not very simple i have to think about it laughter so there laugh uh can be a noun or a verb that's the first thing to laugh or a laugh laughter is a noun um a laugh is normally is ha ha ha right a laugh laughter is more general is more abstract i could hear laughter in the corridor i can hear people laughing it's very very similar but i think laughter is a bit wider laugh versus smiling well laugh is smiling is there is no sound right yeah manas laugh it off similar to shake it off yes manners very very similar yes um dry and wet humor no no no no dry humor yes not wet just dry humor brilliant okay that's it guys we are gonna we've got a phone call stop calling me you have to laugh out loud listen i get a phone call in the middle of the class i'll just laugh it off so we've seen lots of stuff what we've got it's not wit because wit if you remember wit is um the play on words right stand up comedy is where you stand on the stage and speak sarcasm is a bit like irony it's where you say something but you don't mean it okay well done i think we have a leaderboard and whoever got the answer correct the quickest lisa you're at the top well done we've got manus and endear let's move on next question to um a joke to say to ask to crack or to burst 20 seconds nine eight seven six five and the guys of you in the comments as well well done 105 of you got it that's excellent 105 people that's not bad so close behind you last question guys she has a of humor well done kirat and lin rimpa well done hello from taiwan hello nice one sweet potato look at that great 112 with you that's the vast majority of you got that right yes so not a feeling no not a laugh of humor no not a sensation it's a similar word but no a sense of humor and remember you can say a good sense of humor a dry sense of humor a
