hello youtube welcome back to the channel my name is michelle mcdaniel i'm a personal trainer a proud mother of a pug a past theater gone grown up cosplayer and this is my channel my thoughts will probably offend you where i share my thoughts that will probably offend at least not a half not one fourth but at least one whole person and as disney months give or take usually runs longer on this channel where a variety of different characters from disney show up talking about topics that you guys suggest to me and yes i wanted to make tinkerbell some cryptic bloody character that eats wendy for taking her man but i didn't yes i'm gonna start my period yes i have endo yes i am not in the mood for putting a lot of makeup and prosthetics all over my face so this is more like a filler episode and i got a commenter that was mad that i seem to only talk about fat people so i wasn't going to originally talk about this topic but since you commented that this video is just for you you're welcome if it bothers you that much there are other topics on this channel you just decide to pick out these because they probably relate to you and your weight situation so no i'm not obsessed with fat people but i find that the fat acceptance community is very interesting especially for the fact that think that this is healthy so with all of that being said in the spirit of disney month give or take let's talk about fat disney princesses [Music] this video is sponsored by me and my small company proto bakery if you would like to support this channel and try a protein cake donut with 2 grams of sugar and 10 grams of protein we are restocked today i also wanted to give you guys a big fat thank you for all of the support we are currently getting a warehouse so we can mass produce these bad boys and come out with more flavors and it's all because of you so here's a big sloppy wet kiss on your forehead from yoshi body positive artist reimagines disney princesses with realistic shapes and sizes a body positive artist and self-described advocate for the liberation of fat bodies is creating amazing artwork by reimagining disney princesses and other popular characters with actual actual realistic body types and she's inspiring thousands of girls in the process so just like judging it from that small section i'm not too sure what obesity would inspire others to do maybe to be more confident i'm not exactly sure but that is my guess crystal walters runs neoclassical art and she tells scary mommy her inspiration for her artwork comes from her younger self when i was a child i was fat and i despised my own body she says i remember at age 12 or 13 having a conversation in a clothing store with my mother where i told her i'm not even human shape well that's really sad knowing that i'm only one of a gazillion others who have had similar nasty thoughts is heartbreaking and devastating and a big part of the problem is a lack of representation in popular media so i sympathize and disagree at the same time childhood obesity is very sad because the child in my opinion doesn't have any control it's up to the parents to take control of that and teach the child good eating healthy habits and to have a healthy mindset when it comes to their body image as well under eating is bad overeating is bad i'm not exactly sure why balance is such a taboo thing very similar thoughts when i was younger because one i started my wonderful period at the ripe age of 10 on my birthday and after that i started getting hips and these things came in and i had to start wearing this thing called a bra it was uncomfortable and all my friends were like this so i didn't feel human from a very young age so i totally sympathize with that but the problem i have is the whole representation part a big part of the problem is a lack of representation in popular media oh i have to completely disagree that is not the problem the problem is that the parents are not applying their child with eating healthy foods being able to portion eating foods that signal to stop eating so that they don't overeat along with supplying conversations with having healthy body image for example i see a lot of my friends who have issues with just getting older or aging or having a wrinkle here or there they very much flip out and then i meet the parents and the parents are very much the same and they've always been like that so from a young age they were always like oh shoot wrinkles equal death or quite frankly like ugly well maybe it's just because you're ugly ugly and then i kind of compare it to my own life my mom was never worried about that she was never into you know being upset that she was getting older she was never upset about like a wrinkle she always said that was just a natural thing people age it happens and so in my head i've just never been like oh crap a wrinkle it's time to be depressed that i'm getting older certain talk from the parents can translate over to the kids not the shows that is the problem it's the fact that there are obese children she said herself that she was fat and her parents didn't teach her how to have a healthy lifestyle usually the parents don't have a healthy lifestyle themselves so they don't even know how to teach their kids to have a healthy lifestyle i know i didn't i had to learn a lot feeling represented in films magazines and other forms is critical for women only women especially little girls raising girls to feel worthy regardless of any perceived flaws isn't easy in a society that glamorizes size zero women on runways and in movies there's a lot of truth there which i agree with i did see a lot of just thin women in movies and magazines but i think we're doing a lot better job it feels like the spectrum is turning and now my body type is way more accepted everybody wants a booty as more body positive role models speak out it reminds all of us that our bodies should be celebrated i don't agree seeing something as iconic as disney princesses drawn to represent all bodies is refreshing and long overdue just because the whole united states is turning into a full-on walmart and our weight is increasing substantially doesn't mean that represents all of us okay well let's go look at her instagram because i want to see some of her artwork [Music] okay so we've got ariel and ursula's body and ursula in ariel's body doesn't ursula have a really thin sister crazy sister i didn't miss the cake and ice cream did i [Music] she wasn't as popular because the second disney movies usually aren't that popular but i think a lot of the fat positive women are always complaining about how fat characters are always represented as like either like really the fat funny friend what's your name that amy um you call yourself fat amy yeah so twig [ __ ] like you don't do it behind my back or they're like evil or just weird the weird odd character hey buddy can i have one of yours [Applause] but there are plenty of really thin evil characters jafar isma hades you know i haven't been this choked up since i got a hunkamusaka caught in my throat huh okay he's not as thin as my other examples and quite possibly got some thickness going on there but you get the point but i can see their point of view if i was obese i'd be like why does all my characters have to be either evil or fat and jolly we got fat black ariel here a fat bell that white ariel oh we've got like a thicker mech i don't think that she looks fat in this at all i think she looks really good she's got like a little tummy but there's nothing wrong with like a little tummy in my opinion she looks fine but for the most part she makes them very fat and that's her thing changing characters into obese characters or in her words realistic because being thin is not realistic [Music] my opinion is kind of hard to explain but as someone who is creative i don't really mind seeing different versions of characters people create i make disney princesses into evil characters i like them better that way these people probably like these characters better that way because it relates to them and i'm sure other cosplayers who are bigger and i've already said my opinion about bigger cosplayers i think you should work it but i will read comments saying this character wasn't bad and i'll get the same comment saying this character wasn't black well whoa holy no idea thank you so much for informing a disney ologist like myself who knows every line every musical song by heart what color the character was i'm sure that these people know that ariel didn't have a good now to the part where obese bodies need to be more represented in the media and kids shows just you know more fat bodies if the storyline is good and keeps me engaged and not perpetuating that obesity is healthy i am all for that but usually they want the movie or show to perpetuate the idea that obesity is healthy and i'm not for that but i personally get the representation thing it's just a fine line between representation and representing an unhealthy lifestyle making people feel that obesity is okay and to me obesity is an open visual that you are not healthy or at least on the path to having some serious health issues just similar to smoking you might not have them now but you're setting yourself up for a bad time and now some of you body positive fat positive people who found this video or maybe just like normal people that aren't even in in the group are saying but princesses don't have healthy bodies they're too skinny please show me a disney princess that has a hip bone extremely protruded out or the skin around the ribs just caved in no the disney princesses all have tiny waists and then wider hips many of these people also say that cartoon characters have unrealistic body proportions and makes little girls want to look like them and as that is true it also kind of cracks me up because they're cartoons most things about cartoons are very unrealistic but finally if people want to recreate and draw princesses being fat more power to you have fun but i would personally rather look at a more aesthetically pleasing disney princess because i'm a horrible person that's what they're gonna say anyway i'll just go with it i personally love the shape of a small waist and big hips it's okay for you to like fat drawings why can't i like what i like or are you not really body positive thank you so much for watching i'll be reading interacting and harding your comments while i sit on the couch bye guys [Music] secure the bag you see the drippy i'm fitted out hop in my car nick idiot [Music] neighborhoods
